Chapter 1Chapter 1 My Magical World Family

"Andy, hurry up and come down for breakfast, I don't want to say it a second time!"

Hearing the shouts coming from downstairs, Andy Collins rubbed his eyes in a daze and struggled to get up from his bed.

The Ottery St. Catchpole Village, located in Devon, along the River Otter, was a small village where wizards and muggles lived in mixed communities.

As of today, Andy has been living in this village for ten whole years.

Speaking of which, when Andy learnt that he had travelled to the Harry Potter Wizarding World, he was only surprised for a short second before decisively accepting the fact that he had reincarnated in the wizarding world.

After all, in Andy's previous life, transmigration and reincarnation was no longer a novelty.

It was no big deal.

'If I had known, I would've memorised the entire Harry Potter Book collection back then!'

It was not the first time Andy regretted this matter.

Although Harry Potter was a bestseller all over the world, Andy had only heard of it in his previous life but had never read the books.

After all, it was an English novel.

As for the series of Harry Potter films...

Well, Andy had only seen the first part of the films.

When Andy saw that the first film's villain, Quirrell, who could set a fire ablaze with a snap of his fingers, chose to strangle Harry Potter with his hands, he only felt that his IQ had been greatly insulted.

Was the director's brain kicked by a donkey, or was Quirrell's head caught in a door?

Andy still hadn't figured that question out.

Does he really have the brain of a troll?

Moreover, Quirrell actually thought that he could kill Harry Potter by having him fall off a flying broomstick with so many professors around, what the hell was he thinking?

Did Voldemort really eat his brain?

And there were more than a few brain-dead plot points in the film.

"Hey!"

Andy sighed.

Right now, it was too late to think about all this.

Thump thump thump!

After jogging all the way downstairs, Andy stopped when he passed by the mirror.

His fluffy brown curls were slightly dishevelled, and there was still a hint of drowsiness in his royal blue eyes. He rubbed his face and thought, well, it's going to be another beautiful day for the handsome me.

"So lazy!" Isabel Collins, who had long been sitting on a chair waiting for her meal, stuck her tongue out and made a face at Andy.

Bam!

After knocking the little girl's head, Andy snorted and sat opposite to Isabel, lazily saying, "Day after day, you just know how to eat, when you become a ball of fat, I will push you to go to Hogwarts for school."

"You're the one who will be fat as a ball!"

The little girl fiercely glared at Andy, then turned her head to Helen Collins and complained,

"Mum, Andy is picking on me again."

"Then you beat him senseless!"

Helen said in a good-natured manner, waved her wand, and the already prepared food flew up into the air, after being automatically filled on the plates, it steadily landed on the dining table.

"Dad, what's the news today?" Andy asked, looking at Kyle Collins.

Kyle set the Daily Prophet aside and said in a somewhat excited tone, "The paper says that the boy who survived the greatest tragedy - Harry Potter - is going to school this year as well, in the same year as you."

Right!

Andy moved back to England with his family when he was a year old, and having lived here for a whole decade, he is fully aware of just how big of a name 'Harry Potter' had become.

In the words of his previous life, he was immortalised in history.

And it was all because of one man - Voldemort!

In Andy's past life, many Harry Potter fans claimed that Voldemort was no match for the first Dark Lord, Gellert Grindelwald.

Voldemort was a terrorist at best.

However, it is precisely because Voldemort is a terrorist that he brings fear to the wizarding world beyond Grindelwald.

Just like how people feared Voldemort, but not Dumbledore, who was stronger than him.

"How nice, I have to wait..."

Isabel wiggled her fingers and silently counted one, two, three...

Then said with some dissatisfaction, "I have to wait six more years before I can go to school, and at that time Harry Potter will soon graduate."

"Andy, can you get an autograph of Harry Potter for me?" Isabel looked at Andy with a gleam in her eye.

You're asking me to get an autograph from an eleven-year-old kid?

Won't it embarrass me?

"It's only meaningful if you ask for your own autograph!"

Andy said in a good-natured manner, "When you go to school, Harry Potter happens to be in his seventh year..."

When he said this, Andy suddenly realised something.

Going to school in the same year as Harry Potter would be tragic though, after all, the seven years were plagued with disasters. By enrolling when Harry Potter was in his seventh year, he worried that Harry Potter would be duelling with Voldemort as soon as she arrived at the school.

Could first-year Isabel be able to defend herself against the minions of Voldemort?

I've heard that the final showdown took place at Hogwarts.

His little sister is so unfortunate.

Andy scratched his head and didn't take this to heart.

As survivors of the last wizarding war, his Mother Helen and Father Kyle had their own way of surviving.

At the peak of Voldemort's reign, Andy had been lying in his crib and had seen it all first-hand.

At that time, his family were not in Devon, but in a house in France.

According to Kyle, he was in charge of the task of convincing the French Ministry of Magic to send Aurors to support the war in the British Magical community.

At that time, Kyle had just graduated and was not yet an employee of the British Ministry of Magic, however, after he made contact with a distant relative in a high position in the French Ministry of Magic, he became an employee of the Department of International Magical Co-operation of the British Ministry of Magic.

So he stayed there until the end of the war.

And that job lasted until now, more than a decade later.

His current boss was Barty Crouch.

If Voldemort made a comeback, Andy would probably be left at Hogwarts - there was Dumbledore, after all - but Kyle and Helen would definitely run off to France with Isabel.

Well...after all, there was a school of magic in France, which was a perfect excuse.

The family ate breakfast, Kyle went to work at the Ministry of Magic through the family fireplace, and Helen waved her wand, and the messy dining room table automatically tidied itself up, rags wiping back and forth on it, and plates cleaning themselves in the sink.

'How magical!' Andy mused in his mind.

No matter how many times he saw it, the magic of the Harry Potter world made Andy yearn for it.

If one looked at it solely from the perspective of being powerful or destructive, the magic of the Harry Potter world was actually not too strong.

But if you look at it from the perspective of being magical and as well as being comprehensive, the level of magic in this world is very high.

There were quite a few wizard books at home, and Andy had already read most of them over the past few years. Coupled with his parents' explanations, Andy already had a general understanding of this world's magic.

It was just that the magic power of young wizards under the age of eleven was still unstable, and casting spells too early was detrimental to the body, so Andy hadn't learnt a single spell until now.

"Andy, you take your sister and teach her to recognise words, I'm going to prepare a cauldron of potion, I can't be disturbed."

Isabel made a face, Helen glared at her and said, "If you don't study seriously enough, I'll give you one meal a day from now on."

"Got it!" Isabel replied feebly.

So I will break down why I dislike this story. 1.) The Chinese MC hypocritical view on gods, Chinese people claim to be atheist but in this story and most story's they always want to be a god I find it frustrating to read these two faced MCs and its frustrating to see this type of attitude as it just comes off as only I can be a god any other god but me is a fake god. 2.) The main character feels like a mild psychopath his reasons for obsession and pursuit of magic come off as petty and not very reasonable. 3.) The repeated emphasis on his lack of enthusiasm towards others and his relationships is dull and uninspiring as it gets beaten to death repeatedly and used as and excuse to often cover up for his lack of personality. 4.) MC personality- Based on his lack of motivation towards interacting with others, it just makes him seem more petty and he puts in zero effort to have any meaningful connection if he sees no immediate benefit which isn't the norm for people and the author tries to make this out to be a special trait for him but it just causes him to seem weird in my opinion. The people who claim that its normal for people to only seek out others for their own benefit are obviously not normal and I find the idea that they think it is worrying as they seem to have physiological issues. Remember I said its not the norm but not that it doesn't happen thank you. 5.) The ideas on magic have some merit and seem interesting, but this is ruined by the fact that this kid is only 1st year when he starts exploring those ideas with by the end of his 1st year only having the equivalent of 3rd year level knowledge I just find the whole idea that he comes up with all these ideas that later prove right far fetched and make it hard to me to believe. 6.) The jumps in logical reasoning for him to figure out the chamber of secrets information so easily with just partial bits of information was unnecessary as the author gave him half baked knowledge of the first book and nothing else yet he was able to piece together the whole plot of the second book in the matter of a summer with little information. I feel this was just a plot hole being filled when it was easier to just say he had half baked knowledge of all the books then pick and choose what is missing and what is available. I know this is just a fictional story and I shouldn't get to hung up on realistic interpretations but I have my preferences and opinions on what I enjoy to read and I dislike power fantasy, HP is a universe with low-magic so the whole premise of this book breaks the world view in my opinion making it a bad story. The philosopher stone is the ceiling of Alchemy in the story and the side effects are well described making the idea of becoming a god or immortal beyond that unlikely and whimsical I can see the story wanting to take the path of cultivation novel and it probably will.
