This is literally 90% theory while using spells from different branches of magic including potions and herbology... Did you write the prologue and then just have an AI produce a second Ron for the story? I mean this is an entirely different person. An annoying whining child who's lazy and useless....

History of Magic was by far the most boring subject, Herbology, he hadn't tried yet, but he doubted he would like, and Potions… well, Ethan wouldn't say he disliked it, but it, again, sounded a bit like a bother to learn recipes and such. - kessu913dCommented

Every 2nd chapter is him talking about how he can't rely on canon knowledge and then right after he dismisses things based on canon knowledge while pretending like a training room is useless. Even better is what canon is he talking about? Because nowhere is it said you can get forbidden books inside the room. Could have literally added anything from the multiple games there are to some secrets hidden by the founders or just sell all the junk since hes been training enchanting and curse breaker since toddler but no lets just skip it to be "unique"...
Ethan wasn't interested much in making potions either, so the Room of Requirements really had no appeal to him. The only real use Ethan saw for the room would be for exercising his magic, which was normally forbidden in between classes, but Ethan had already thought of several places where he could make magic without being seen, so again, it wasn't much. - kessu913dCommented
Okay this constant moaning is getting F old... His entire backstory was everyone talking about how much he loved magic and now suddenly hes Ron version 2.0. Reading is literally the only way he has right to learn magic so why the F is he whining non stop about as if hes actually 11 years old? Where the F did the maturity, that entire first half of the book was about, go?
But even if he knew how to get in the cheat like room, Ethan wasn't actually very interested in it. He really didn't like reading, and did only the bare minimum for his classes, relying more on his practical experience. - kessu9113dCommented

Just to clarify when you look at HP magic it seems they are connected to some primordial force which they channel through themselves to alter reality. This would also explain the need for a wand since their own body acts as a medium making it hard for them to push the magic outside. This would then make the wand/or chanting/or rituals a sort of external path that draws magic from their bodies and allows for greater acts of magic. So it should be a limit of their mind and body that determines the power of a wizard not some random amount of substance they use chunks of to cast spells. Meaning mental strain the more complex the magic is and physical strain when channeling the magic through their body into the wand. Which would make sense why they start with simple spells and repeatedly practice them strengthening their mind for more complex spells and training their bodies tolerance to increase the power they can use.

Literally using it for the very reason its bad... Also what Dumbledore? He cast 4 spells and fainted like a basic B. He literally did 10 times that the first time he was practicing his dueling. Its a cliche overused anime plot device to skip scenes while making it seems like the MC gave his all. Except that when used like this it just makes him look weak and pathetic for no reason. Also you never explained how your magic system works. Because this doesn't seem like HP system. More like some mage from an RPG with a manapool...

Don't do this... This constant "falling unconscious" anime BS is bad. It adds nothing to the story in a situation like this and just makes the MC look weak and pathetic. You don't need to have him faint constantly to show MC is tired out.

Although I did not with to hurt any animals if I wanted it grow stronger I had no choice. Raising my hand I began to gauge out its eyes. Or gun. Every real urban magic caster should have an enchanted revolver that shoots demon killing bullets.

They lived during the witch hunts. Obviously defensive and attack magic would have been the first things they learned. Not how to turn sticks into needles.
"Flipendo!" I yelled, aiming at the dummy. Flipendo was a beginner spell that conjured a wall of force that pushed the opponent. Sadly for me, the dummy quickly abandoned the red spell glowing at the tip of his wand and conjured a slightly weaker looking shield than me. I didn't realize he could do shields as well, that was supposed to be a fourth year charm. The only reason I had learned it so early was that it was one of the most important dueling spells I could think of. I mentally reminded myself that the training dummy was a relic of the past and most likely the students had different curriculums back then.
