"A crazy idea..."
Grindelwald said, "You want to become an Obscurial?"
Although it was a question, it was asked in an affirmative tone.
"Of course!"
Andy admitted frankly, "Why not? Obscurus... it's a very powerful magical power."
Grindelwald didn't say anything in response.
He remembered his first encounter with Dumbledore.
He was sixteen years old then and had just been expelled from the Durmstrang Institute for Magical Learning for excessive experimentation with dark magic.
That summer, Grindelwald had travelled alone to Godric's Hollow in search of the Cloak of Invisibility, one of the Deathly Hallows, and there he had met Dumbledore, a young wizard who proved to be more accomplished than he.
It was also there that Grindelwald first encountered the power of the Obscurus.
Dumbledore's sister, Ariana Dumbledore, was the first Obscurial he met.
He later met another Obscurial,
Credence Barebone (Dumbledore).
"That's a very good idea; you should try it," Grindelwald commented disinterestedly.
Andy nodded. "Of course! I've been trying it all along."
"Unfortunately, in this society, Obscurus has been absent and forgotten in the wizarding world for decades, and I can't find any test data at all. Obscurus has become a legend in a way."
"So... I need a little help."
Andy said this without the slightest hint of embarrassment.
If you want to ask an elderly wizard for help, you have to be cheeky.
Whether or not Grindelwald would say anything is up to him, but whether to ask is up to Andy.
If Grindelwald says something, Andy will make a killing.
If he shares his knowledge, he will make a fortune; if he doesn't, he will lose nothing!
Grindelwald: "..."
Grindelwald has been in the wizarding world for decades, but this is the first time he has met a shameless young wizard like Andy.
What is our relationship?
You asked a house elf to give me a Two-way mirror, then contacted me directly, and when we met, you asked me questions about magic, acting as if we were very close.
Hey! This is the first time we've met, okay?
Looking at Andy's expectant face, Grindelwald really wanted to grab him by the throat and shake him twice.
Boy, you better wake up!
After decades of dominating the wizarding world, no one had been brave enough to speak to Grindelwald in this style for a long time.
Even if he had failed, no one even dared to kill him.
Nurmengard Castle... This was once the centre of power belonging to the Grindelwald faction. After his defeat, it became the prison where Grindelwald was imprisoned.
In fact, it was more like retirement than imprisonment.
Grindelwald only lost to Dumbledore, not to mediocre wizards.
But this young wizard named Andy Collins...
I have to admit, he is full of himself!
"What are you offering in exchange?" Grindelwald asked indifferently.
"Hmm..."
Andy raised an eyebrow and said, "Mr Grindelwald...living alone in Nurmengard Castle must be very lonely, right? I can keep in touch with you often, chat with you, and keep you company..."
"What do you think?" Grindelwald shot Andy a meaningful glance. "It is true that it is lonely. You can come and stay with me for a few days. Nurmengard Castle is very big, and I can reserve a room for you."
Andy didn't say anything in response. "After I graduate, I may be able to go to Nurmengard Castle and stay with you for a few days. But I can't do that now because I'm still in school. Well... you'll have to convince my parents and the professors at Hogwarts first."
Grindelwald: "..."
Grindelwald once again confirmed one thing, and that is... he has never seen such a bold and shameless young wizard.
"Hmm..."
Andy pondered for a moment and then said, "Why don't you name a condition, and I'll see if I can do it?"
Grindelwald once again brought his face close to the mirror, as if he wanted to take a good look at Andy's appearance.
After decades of imprisonment, Grindelwald looked very old, a little frail and dirty. He was wearing a single shirt, like an old man on his deathbed.
"Very interesting young wizard,"
Grindelwald suddenly asked, "Do you think your idea can succeed?"
Andy spread his hands and said casually, "Not sure!"
"Obscurus..."
Grindelwald muttered, then looked up at Andy sharply, "I have seen the power of the Obscurus before. That Obscurus exploded half a mountain with just one attack."
"That is a very powerful dark magic force."
"But in the end, it was defeated by Dumbledore."
Andy's eyes lit up at this.
All along, the only description of the Obscurus in the books has been 'powerful dark magic force'. As for how powerful the Obscurus was exactly, the books did not describe it in detail.
Grindelwald's words were tantamount to describing the power and terror of the Obscurus to Andy.
A single attack can blow up half a mountain!
This is definitely not the power a wizard can exert.
As for losing to Dumbledore, that doesn't mean anything.
Even if the Obscurus's power is very strong, the host of the Obscurus, the Obscurial, is just an ordinary person.
As long as you hit the target, a stunning spell is enough to defeat the Obscurial.
To put it bluntly, it's a matter of combat experience.
"Really powerful..." Andy was filled with excitement.
Since coming into contact with magic, Andy has been pursuing the fusion of mind and magic. And the Obscurus was the masterwork of the fusion of mind and magic.
At this moment, Andy truly understood the power of the Obscurus.
"Yes, that is very powerful."
Grindelwald looked at Andy with a playful expression in his eyes. "That boy lived into his twenties, but in the end, he still could not escape the fate of the Obscurial."
Andy said indifferently, "That only proves that he is not strong enough. He has only inherited the power of the phoenix; he is not the original bearer of the phoenix's power."
"If he uses the power of the phoenix to perform magic transfiguration, do you think... he can perfectly bond with the Obscurus?"
Grindelwald's eyes twitched slightly.
There was no doubt that Grindelwald was an extremely arrogant and self-centred person. He had little interest or patience for those whose abilities were inferior to his own.
But for those who are talented, Grindelwald will appreciate them greatly.
And this young wizard in front of him, Andy Collins... is undoubtedly within Grindelwald's range of 'appreciation'.
Otherwise, Grindelwald would not have accepted the Two-way mirror sent by Kreacher.
Are you kidding? Do you really think that Grindelwald will talk to just anyone who comes along?
Grindelwald actually thought very seriously about Andy's question.
However, he didn't think that magic transfiguration and Obscurus could be perfectly compatible. Perhaps the reason why Credence could live past the age of twenty was because of his 'strong magic', not the power of the Phoenix.
