The Irregulars Journey.

On the colossal St. Ancestral Mountain range, sunlight shined through the gap between the mountains into the deep canyons. On the hillside beside the valley, some snow remained.

Even though it's already early summer, the snow has yet to melt. The cold here is exceptionally long. The roars of beasts can occasionally be heard.

On the surface of the valley stood a magnificent city.

The world outside of the St. Ancestral Mountains has been occupied by the beasts. The people living in the mountain range have not contacted the outside world for hundreds of years.

The people who live in the city are unsure of the situation of the outside world. It's been recorded that at the most glorious period of mankind, having thousands of Legend rank Fighters and Demon Spiritualists, the humans established many empires in the vast continent, but those empires have been wiped out.

The city, due to being stealthily located geographically, was well preserved from the Age of Darkness. They would occasionally encounter attacks from powerful Snow Wind Beasts within the St. Ancestral Mountains, however, after going through numerous devastating conflicts, the city was being rebuilt again and again.

These motley walls were an indomitable monument.

This city is called Glory City, and it is a symbol of hope for humanity.

A robust man majestically was sitting in a room that looked like an office while holding some papers in his hand. He's wearing a grey robe with his hair tied to the back. His face was solemn and had a feeling of prestige around him.

A child with dark black hair and clear blue eyes was standing in front of him. He had a small physique about 5 or 6 years old.

The robust man said "Do you want to learn alchemy" the man was surprised by what the child had asked for. Usually, children his age were playing around without even knowing what alchemy was.

Some time ago this child and a girl came from outside the city with his brother. When his father and his brother found them they just killed a demon beast. Seeing that his father decide to Adopt them and send them to Glory City to nurture them.

It has been a month since then and this was the first time the child was asking him about something.

"Yes, I used to read the books Mom and Dad found in the ruins. So, I had an interest in alchemy. I read about it in the library but I would like to properly study it from teachers." The Child spoke in a confident voice.

He had a serene expression that made him look confident and yet not arrogant.

"I see, I can send you to the Alchemy School but are you sure you want to since you won't be able to train for being a fighter or demon spiritualist," Ye Zong said with a serious expression.

"I will try to keep up with both training and studying if I can't then I will quit the one I feel lacking."

"Well, If you are so determined then fine. I will talk to someone from the Alchemist Association." Ye Zong said with a sigh.

Tatsuya bowed and said "Thank you, Father" and then turned around and left the room.

In a yard near them

Miyuki was sitting with Ziyun thinking about all that happened in the past year. She was announced to the new clan head of Yotsuba's and she confessed to Tatsuya. That night they slept together but when she opened her eyes they were in a different world. One that was filled with monsters. They were traveling with a man named Ye Xiu and were brought to a place named Glory City.

Although it was called a city it was no less than a kingdom. It was backward and their magic had stopped working. She thought that she was just dreaming but everything felt real. The air, the voices, the sand beneath her feet. It was then that suddenly a status window appeared in front of her face.

They heard a voice about how they have been brought to this new world and to activated the system features they must complete the tutorial.

Currently, she could see her name on the top right of the purple screen with her photo and some centered text beneath it.

Mission 1 - Choose your path.

Other than that there was no hint. Although she and Tatsuya came up with a few hypotheses of what could that mean.

It could mean studying the things that this world offered or even becoming a part of it by becoming a part of its people and their lives.

There were many things they could study in this world. Like Inscriptions and Alchemy and Cultivation.

There were also fighters and demon spiritualists they were divided into 5 by 5 levels.

Bronze, Silver, Gold, Black Gold, and Legend.

While Each Rank was further divided into 5 Stars.

Inscription patterns were like magic spells. Some were cast on items to give them property while others were written on scrolls and used in battle some were used like arrays that had a large area effect. Since Tatsuya was a master at that he decided to study alchemy which was interesting to him.

She, on the other hand, was going to focus on studying the history and geography of this world and the political patterns of Glory City. She was going to teach some martial arts to Ziyun.

Suddenly a rustling sound caught her attention when she looked towards it she could see Tatsuya walking towards her.

She stood up and started walking toward him with a smile.

'Although the last few months have been weird I am happy since I and Tatsuya get to live our childhood again. I want it to be better than the last time'

"Tatsuya-gege did you talk with father"

"Yeah, he said he will arrange a position in the alchemist school, I will be joining from tomorrow."

"Then I should start taking my classes too"

and then, a few months later

Somewhere in a white room filled with test tubes, beakers, flasks, and such items. Tatsuya was looking at the results of his experiments in the past few days when the door suddenly opened and a beautiful girl with long purple hair wearing a hanfu which revealing the cleavage of her well-gifted breasts.

Her name was Yang Xin. She was orphaned at a young age and with her efforts rose in positions. There are rumors that she will be the next director.

"Tatsuya, How are the results," Yang Xin asked as she looked at her student. She was told that Young Master of Snow Wing Family was a rare genius and after City Lord heard of his achievement he asked someone from high rank to teach him personally but the most of the other old man didn't want to deal with a child so they left his responsibility to her. To her surprise, the child really was a genius, and not only that he was very patient and hardworking too.

"Teacher, there is some progress. According to the result, we will be able to increase the success rate by another 62% but there is no change with efficiency." Tatsuya said while sighing about the result.

Yang Xin smiled as she patted his head "We should be happy that we were able to increase the success rate by so much. With this creating, these will be 10 times easier and the cost will go down by a lot."

"I know but that doesn't change the fact that it has very low effectiveness. In the end, although we have a lot of alchemy knowledge here it is bloated. There are more things about what not to do rather than what to do. It is unnecessary we need more knowledge." He thought about the books he has read many books but like he said they were bloated.

There were more problems than solutions in those books because there were no computers or machines there was nothing he could use to calculate or compare data.

The only way to do that was physically but most Alchemists were busy every day since it takes their time to keep up with the constant demand for pills therefore only a few elders focused on research.

"Well, that can't be helped after when the glory city was first established we still had documents on Alchemy from the times of the empire but since then Glory City has fallen and reconstructed 333 times. In the process, we lost much of our Alchemy knowledge. Although we have many books many of them are written in old languages that no one can read now."

Yang Xin had a miserable smile on her face.

She soon cheered up and a dazzling smile appeared on her face as she took out a Grey Robe from her interspacial ring. "But, With this, you are finally a primary apprentice. Although you have enough knowledge to become a master we don't want too much attention otherwise who knows what those dogs from Dark Guild."

"Thank you, Teacher" As soon as Tatsuya took the Robe from her hand a status screen popped up in front of him.

The path has been chosen.

A small smile appeared on Tatsuya's face as he read that. He bowed toward Yang Xin "then I will take my leave for today."

With that, he moved towards the family domain of the Snow Wind Family.

While looking around the setting sun in the distance and busy streets he was lost in his own thoughts.

'I need to know if there are any changes in Miyuki's Status Screen. Although we both got the same intro mission but are those connected. Does my progress in the mission by choosing a path mean that her path has been decided or does she get a different choice of her own? '

'If they are completely separate missions then is there a chance that she could get a mission that might get be completely opposite to mine.'

As he thought of various different possibilities of what it might be he soon reached his courtyard.

Alchemist association was near City Lords Mansion since Alchemists are rare and precious. Therefore it was built near the City Lord to make sure if someone like people from the Dark Guild attacks them. City Lord can rush in time to save them.

As he reached Miyuki and Ziyuns Courtyard he saw both of them practicing martial arts. Although this world has no proper system of martial arts and techniques since they rely on Soul Force and its destructive powers.

But as the Princess of Yotsuba's Miyuki had been trained in Martial Arts and Fighting Techniques since Childhood. She started teaching Ziyun those techniques at the same time Ziyun served as her sparring partner.

Although she has a long way to go. As the two stopped he moved closer to them "That was good Ziyun has made a lot of progress since the last I saw."

Ziyun looked toward with a smile as she hopped over "Tatsuya-gege, Did I really make progress."

Tatsuya patted her head "Yeah, you are much stronger than you were before."

"Hehehe Thanks" She smiled cutely while making a fist with both hands.

At first, when Miyuki and He came she was really shy but soon took a liking to them. Because of her mother's early death and her father is busy with work she was really lonely.

Although there was Ye Han who was also adopted by Ye Zong he was 8 years older than her. That's why when we came and looked like the same age as her. She really opened up.

"Tatsuya-gege you are wearing a grey robe did you become an apprentice alchemist already?" Miyuki asked with a surprise, happy, and proud emotion on her face.

"Really!! I heard it is really hard to become an Alchemist." Ziyun chimed in with an excited expression.

"I did.."

"Wait, I'll go tell dad" She ran off before I could even say anything. In a way that was a good thing now, I could ask Miyuki about the system.

He used his elemental sight to scan around for eavesdroppers soon his sight covered the whole area of City Lord Mansion.

He looked in her eyes seriously and said "Miyuki, as soon as I touched the robe my mission progressed. From Tutorial to Main Mission. Did your progress too."

Miyuki looked surprised and made a solemn face that did not suit her childish face "No, mine is still showing Tutorial mission. If your mission progressed when you became an apprentice them mine should have progressed since I am already a 1-star bronze fighter."

"Maybe it has something to do with cognition. Although you are a bronze fighter. No one other than me knows that. Maybe your mission would progress if someone knows."

"Should I try telling Ziyun if that would produce some changes"

"It seems that only the cognition of natives seems to affect the system. If we wait till you become a 2-star Fighter and then tell others that you are a 1-Star Fighter.

Then you may get a mission that is suitable for 1-Star Fighter which will make things easier and safe for you."

Miyuki held Tatsuya's hand with a smile "I am so happy that Tatsuya- Nii Sama is thinking about me but that is not all is it."

Tatsuya sighed "Well I did get a reward. Decyphering and Translating skills at the same time Prediction and Suggestion which are Alchemy based. The prediction will allow me to Predict the result of mixing things while by using suggestions I might get hints from the system."

He narrowed his eyes as he said his thoughts "Most like you will get a reward that would be well suited to support you on the past of Fighter and Demon Spiritualist. But I want to wait and prepare for other dangerous scenarios that might happen. It might be just safer to become a 2-Star Bronze Fighter before telling anyone."

Miyuki gently hugged him "Onii-Sama you worry too much. This is City Lords Mansion. Safest Place in the city. Even if I get a hard mission like killing Demon Beasts I can just ask the guards to help me and deal the finishing Blow."

Tatsuya frowned "We do not know the full capabilities of the system. There are a lot of other things it could do. Like whisk you away to an imaginary realm, or just throw you into a mental fight. Or, maybe something else."

"It's ok"

Tatsuya patted back "City Lord is about to reach"

Ye Zong rushed over after he heard his daughter telling him how Tatsuya had become an Alchemist Apprentice. Many were not even able to reach that level in decades. It has only been 4 months since Tatsuya started Alchemy. Although he heard that the child is very talented and even asked Alchemy association to let someone with a prominent position to teach him. Even he did not expect this.

As soon as he entered the courtyard he saw Tatsuya wearing the Gray Robe.

He rushed at him and bent on his knees while grabbing the child's small shoulders "Tatsuya did you really become an apprentice?"

Tatsuya looked at him and bowed his head "Yes"

Ye Zong had a bright smile on his face which did not suit "Good, becoming an alchemist at such a young age. You will definitely have big achievements in the future. If there is anything you want then you can ask me. I will do anything in my power to help you."

"Then Sir, can you help me collect books with lost languages? I used to study with the elders of our tribe before we separated. I know a bit of lost language if I have time then I can translate them. I want to learn more about alchemy from them"

Ye Zong had heard from them before that they were part of a nomadic tribe that liked to travel in search of ancient knowledge and they sneaked out of the tribe to search for ruins but were lost. "Good if that is what you want."

"Thank you, Father"

At Night

Ziyun and Miyuki were sleeping in the same room on a huge bed. Ziyun was fidgeting around.

Miyuki looked at her and asked, "Can't sleep?"

Ziyun closed her eyes after a while she opened them and with a sad expression on her face she said "Will father be happy if I studied hard and became an alchemist too?"

Miyuki put her hand on Ziyun's cheek "Don't worry Father is always looking at you. Although, he is very busy because of his job as the city lord."

"But, I want him to praise me and spend more time with me."

Miyuki looked at her with twinkling eyes "Ziyun, I am already a 1-Star Bronze Fighter and You have been Training with m. I know you will become one soon too. When the time comes you can tell father and when he wants to know if there is something you would like. Then you can ask him to spend more time with you."

Ziyun jolted up with joy "Really, are you really a Bronze Fighter. Can I become one?"

Miyuki chuckled "Yeah, don't worry as long as you practice hard you can soon become a fighter."

Ziyun hugged Miyuki with joy "Thank you Jiemei"

Miyuki helped Ziyun lay down as she patted her hand "We have to practice early in the morning. Now Sleep."

"Yeah"

Miyuki also laid down and stared at the roof. To be more precise at the Status Window.

The path has been chosen.
