Chapter 8 - Four Offers

Miyuki and Tatsuya separated hastily as they looked towards the source of the sound.

Ziyun was standing at the gate with a beat red expression, panicked trying to cover her eyes with her fingers while peeking through them.

Miyuki hastily stood up trying to open her mouth to say something but she was too embarrassed to say anything so she turned around and ran inside her room and closed the door behind her.

Tatsuya looked at the situation, gently furrowed his brows, and sighed

'This is my fault. I should have paid more attention.' Normally he paid attention to his surrounding to not get off guard but when he kissed Miyuki it felt like all his defense system shut down.

"Ziyun.."

"It's ok gege you don't need you to explain. I didn't see anything.."

before he could explain anything Ziyun hurriedly waved her hands embarrassedly and went out of the courtyard.

Tatsuya didn't stop her. He didn't want to. He didn't know what to tell her.

'Maybe we should tell her about our engagement. In this world, some marriages are decided from childhood. No one would suspect anything but before that, I should talk to Miyuki about it and ask her what she wants to say.'

He looked towards her room and shook his head 'maybe tomorrow'

THE NEXT DAY

It's time for Shen Xiu's lesson. However, Nie Li, Du Ze, and Lu Piao felt that her lessons were simply pointless and boring. All she did was gabble away at the stage daily. Of course, during Shen Xiu's lesson, Nie Li, Du Ze, and Lu Piao would be standing at the back of the class. The lesson will be starting soon and students were gathering in small groups, chit-chatting.

Today Ye Ziyun was sitting quietly in her seat. She had a small blush on her face sometimes she sneaked a glance at Tatsuya while sometimes at Miyuki.

Nie Li, Du Ze, and Lu Piao were at the back, chatting among themselves. Also, there were a few commoner students that built a good relationship with Nie Li's group. Since Nie Li had a lot of ideas, he would coach them in their training from time to time. With how much he helped them, he naturally became the leader of this small group. Even Du Ze, who had more prestige within the commoner student body, was willing to listen to what Nie Li said.

"Nie Li, do you think Ye Ziyun is acting weird today?" Du Ze asked. When Du Ze came in he noticed Ziyun was fidgeting around on her seat. Knowing Nie Li had a crush on her he started to pay attention.

Lu Piao said with a smirk "Yeah, even I noticed that. Don't you think she looks embarrassed? as if something happened? Maybe she and Tatsuya...?"

"No," Nie Li said adamantly.."She is not only looking at Tatsuya but also at Miyuki"

Lu Piao acted surprised "You mean not only Tatsuya something happened between her and Miyuki?"

Du Ze slapped at the back of his head "No, idiot. Most likely something happened between Tatsuya and Miyuki and Ziyun saw it"

Nie Li looked at this scene and tried to remember if he had heard about this incident from Ziyun. Ziyun didn't talk about Miyuki and Tatsuya much because it upset her.

Miyuki for her was a sister, best friend, teacher, and sometimes even a mother figure while Tatsuya was a brother figure whom she admired a lot. That's why when they died she went into depression. There were only a few things he heard about them from her was, one of them was that if they were alive then Glory City would still be safe.

He didn't know them in the previous life but when he saw Tatsuya he knew he was really strong. This strength didn't come from cultivation or realm but something else. He was sure if they fought in a life and death battle he wouldn't even survive for a second. 'In this life, I will make sure they don't die in the hands of Dark Guild' Nie Li thought to himself.

Just when Nie Li was thinking about past and future he saw Tatsuya coming towards them.

Lu Piao also noticed that and whispered as he sneaked glances at Tatsuya "Do you think he heard us?"

Du Ze "Maybe he is here to take back money," He thought maybe Tatsuya realized he had given too much money and was coming here to take them back.

Lu Piao whispered "Could it be he and Miyuki fought over money"

"No, that's not it" Lu Piao suddenly felt the same chill that Nie Li felt yesterday.

Lu Piao looked at the side Tatsuya was standing right beside him with a small smile hanging on his lips while looking at him.

"uwaa...I..I.." Lu Piao fell backward because of the sudden surprise with a panicked face he looked around as if an excuse was written somewhere on the wall.

Tatsuya reached out his hand "It's ok I don't mind." at the same time he activated a transparent barrier that covered 7 of them.

Du Ze felt something and looked around "did something happen"

Nie Li also felt the barrier. Although he didn't recognize this technique he knows what it did "This a barrier that makes sure any noise doesn't go out. It is useful if you don't want others to see you or hear you."

'Although this needs great control over soul force and a technique like this eats up soul force someone at the bronze level wouldn't be able to continue for a few seconds. Is he already a silver rank demon spiritualist'

"I am amazed that you figured it out so quickly," Tatsuya said with a stoic expression as if he wasn't surprised at all.

Du Ze just asked directly "do you want to take back your money?" He asked directly.

Tatsuya shook his head "No, I am very happy with the progress you made in just one day."

Lu Piao stepped back "Wait, were you peeking at us?"

Nie Li was surprised again although you could tell if someone was a Bronze or Silver or any other rank if they used their powers even then you can't tell must difference.

This deal alone was shock everyone specially Nie Li. He only knew of the few items that came from that treasury. Ziyun only had a few items with her when she escaped. Some of them were very rare especially Nightmare demon pot. If he could get his hand on it then he wouldn't have to worry about demon spirits.

Tatsuya continued "the second thing that I can offer you is 7 days of cultivation time Energy gathering array" Rather than shock this offer left everyone other than Nie Li confused. They didn't know anything about the array since they recently stalled it. Only City Lord knew about it.

"If you don't know then let me tell you. The array has been recently installed and is one of the biggest secrets of Glory City. It creates an area that has 10 times more soul force in the air than outside. Only Black Gold and Legend level can use it since it can increase their cultivation speed by 10 times. The cultivation techniques you are practices are very high level so you all would realize the difference even more"

This time even Nie Li was shocked it's not that he hadn't seen anything like the Energy gathering array. In his past life, he was had reached a realm that others in this world couldn't even dream of. He had seen many great things. The energy gathering array in front of those wasn't even garbage. He was shocked because he didn't know there was something like that in Glory City.

At the same time when Lu Piao and others marveled at the idea of practicing in Energy Gathering Array something clicked in Lu Piao's head and he jumped back while pointing at Tatsuya "Ah Ha!!! you just said you weren't peeking then how did you know we practice high-level techniques"

Lu Piao has stumped. Du Ze stepped forward "What if we try to cheat and still say that your answer was not enough?"

Suddenly Nie Li intervened while looking at Tatsuya carefully he said "that just means he is confident that after hearing that answer we won't be able to reject it. Maybe his biggest secret is behind that question.

Tatsuya didn't say anything and continued "My final offer. I can give protection to all your families. I noticed that you have unusual disgust for sacred family and now you have offended them. If you continue to offend them then they might make a move against your families. I can send my people to guard your families so you don't have to worry about that."

This time Du Ze, Lu Piao, and others were moved. Although, the other two offers were great and the one that they badly wanted to know about. It was the last one that moved them the most. They trusted Nie Li and supported him. Especially after they got such precious cultivation techniques they had high hopes for the future.

But if something happened to their family then none of that would matter. At the back of their head, they were already a little worried about their family. Therefore last offer moved them the most. As long as their families were safe then no one would be able to stop that.

He had heard that the snow wind family was adamant about making him the city lord. They even wanted his and Ziyun's marriage. That was when Dark Guild made a big move to assassinate him since they felt a huge threat.

The second and Third offer was just to fill places the main one was the fourth one. If heavenly Mark's family and the families of his friends were protected then he could let loose even more. Things would become much easier.

"Have you decided which one do you want?" When Tatsuya asked this question everyone was nervously looking at Nie Li. Although they wanted to say something, in the end, they just decided to wait for Nie Li to decide.

Nie Li let out a breath "To whom do you want to give this chance?"

"For Xiao Ning'Er"

Nie Li had a confident smile on his face he looked at Tatsuya and declared "I have decided. I want all of them."
