Chapter 96 - New Room.
A few days later, Tatsuya and Miyuki were already in Draconic Ruins Realms. From what they heard from Xiao Yu on their way here was,
This is a vast world that contains many powerful forces. Those of the righteous path were united under the Divine Feathers, Heavenly Note, Phaseless, Thousand Flowers, Sky Origin, and the Skyblaze Sects. Those of the Evil Ways would rally under the Demon God, Pentabolt Demon, and Scarlet Moon Sects.
There were other recluse sects, like Ancestral Demonic Saint Land and Ancestral God Land.
Eastern region of the Draconic Ruins Realm
This massive territory belongs entirely to the Divine Feathers Sect.
No one knew for how long the Divine Feathers Sect has been around. The Sect manages several hundreds of cities with a total population of over several hundred million. By tallying the number of outer disciples alone, the count would already reach several million. No one knows how many experts are in the Divine Feathers Sect.
The Divine Feathers Sect is then divided into the Heaven, Inner, and Outer Division. Ordinary people would only be able to stare at the Outer Division; it was forever out of their reach. The Inner Division was even more unknown. As far the Heaven The division went, it was so that it was practically a myth.
Aside from divisions, there were institutes. Like, Skysoul Institute in the inner division where they currently were.
The geniuses from the scattered cities and smaller realms would enroll in the Skysoul Institute to cultivate themselves. The Skysoul Institute is a school with millions of students, almost like an independent kingdom.
The Skysoul Institute is located deep within a mountain range. The vague outlines of buildings can be seen throughout the flourishing forest, creating a magnificent scene.
Xiao Yu continued walking as he explained, "The Skysoul Institution is divided into five districts, each with strict grading. The Central District of the institution is the strongest, East is the second, and West is the third. The South and North Districts are the tail ends. You guys will have to first take a placement test for your district."
She continued, "One more thing, you have been brought here with special permission. There is still a month and a half before the registration begins. Try not to leave the institute before that, and you can't use most of the resources here before that." She didn't know why did Tatsuya and Miyuki had to come here before the registration began.
Registration happened every ten years; it went on for two months. Currently, there were still six weeks before registration began. The original plan was to bring everyone a month after the registration began when things had calmed down a little.
"That's fine; this is already more than enough," Tatsuya said; this was really enough. They still had their connection to their duplicates. But, there was still a possibility that once the channel closed, their link might break too. Before that, they needed to know the difference, and transfer as much information, cultivation techniques, alchemy, and knowledge of inscriptions as they can.
As for the limits before becoming disciples, they could find a way through it.
Tatsuya held Miyuki's hand and whispered, "I am going to do it."
Miyuki looked at him and nodded.
Tatsuya used elemental sight to slowly scan the whole Skysoul institute. This was something he could only do now; since he had the excuse that he didn't know the rule.
Soon, his sight spread across the mountain ranges. Market, training grounds, martial fields, students, buildings, teachers all came in front of his vision. There were a few architectures with inscription arrays that blocked his sight. He didn't want to probe them too thoroughly for now.
After a few moments, he and Miyuki opened their eyes. Xiao Yu was still walking in front, talking. She didn't seem to realize what had happened.
Miyuki had interest flashing in her eyes. None of the students or teachers realized the sight. Some might have felt it through intuition that someone was looking at them. But nothing more. The inscription array that could block his vision was understandable. They had already thought of this possibility.
What really drew her interest was that there was someone who actually realized Tatsuya's sight. They saw many strong ones just now, but none of them realized it. Yet, that girl realized it and not through intuition.
'The items in her room reminded me of items used for deviations.' Miyuki had seen those items. Some even used casting assistant devices like those.
Tatsuya agreed with her; he got the same feeling.
Meeting her would be interesting, even helpful to their purpose. Just the fact that she realized Elemental Sight was enough to draw Tatsuya's interest.
Xiao Yu turned around, "I must say this, be careful with your actions. There are many great people in the Skysoul Institute alone. Try not to run around before the registration."
Miyuki smiled, "don't worry, we will be well behaved."
Xiao Yu sighed; she wasn't sure she should trust them to behave.
Soon they reached Xiao Yu's courtyard, "For now, you will live in my courtyard."
"Can I go see inside?" Miyuki asked. She wanted to see inside the courtyard and choose her room.
Xiao Yu thought about it and nodded. She had left her room in good condition.
Miyuki looked at Tatsuya before she left.
After she left, Tatsuya looked around the courtyard, "So, how do they test the students?"
"Oh! the teachers test the spiritual roots of a person and place them in different districts. The Spirit roots usually determine how much talent a person has in cultivating Heavenly Energy. They are divided into Man, Earth, and Heaven, each further divided into nine grades."
Tatsuya frowned after hearing her explanation; he was worried because he and Miyuki were not of this world. It made him wonder if they had spiritual roots. 'I need to check.'
Xiao Yu took out a spherical crystal, "You want to check?"
Tatsuya looked at her before nodding, "Yes, I do."
"This is the Heaven Spiritual Crystal; you need to put your energy inside, and it will show your talent." Xiao Yu explained while handing him the crystal. She was very curious about Tatsuya's talent.
Heaven Spiritual Crystals were rare since they were in demand. The only reason she had something like this was that her foster father was the ambassador.
Tatsuya took the crystal from her and started injecting the soul force in it. He couldn't test his original soul realm; since the GreyMist would destroy the crystal.
Although the talent of his second soul realm was average at first. It improved after he bought Soul King bloodline. It improved again after he bought the Rinnegan bloodline and once again after he accepted Yin Release. He wasn't worried about having a low talent.
The crystal showed a red color, soon it changed to orange, and shortly after to Violet, after there were nine threads, Tatsuya retracted his hand. He realized that it could go higher than that.
Xiao Yu looked at the crystal before letting out a breath, "For some reason, I am not even surprised. You were even able to make spiritual flames like it was nothing. Even created fate souls before stepping into Draconic Ruins Realm." She truly wanted to be surprised but recently felt like she should get used to it. They shocked her too many times.
Tatsuya gave her the crystal back, "could you show me yours?" he wanted to differentiate which part of the information showed the Spiritual Roots.
Xiao Yu shook her head, "I have already tested mine."
"This is a request; there is something I want to see."
Xiao Yu hesitated before nodding; Tatsuya used elemental sight to watch the energy she was putting in her crystal. He wanted to see what portion of information the crystal took from the soul force that Xiao Yu put in.
"7th Grade Heaven, that is some talent you have." Tatsuya took back his sight. He got what he wanted.
Xiao Yu took back the crystal, "what is the use; I can't even generate a fate soul."
Tatsuya frowned, hearing that; He had an idea why she was stuck, "I might be able to find a reason for that. But I would have to look."
Xiao Yu was startled; she was tempted by the offer, but she was worried he would realize that she is a girl, "Thank you, give me some time to think."
Tatsuya nodded before going inside.
Xiao Yu behind him looked at his back before looking at the floor beneath her feet. She wasn't sure what to do.
When Tatsuya reached the room that Miyuki was in, he saw tens of her duplicates refurnishing the room.
He closed the door behind him.
"Onii-sama, just a bit longer," Miyuki said with a smile. She seemed to be enjoying herself.
Tatsuya smiled while looking at her, "Take your time."
Miyuki turned around and gazed at him, "You already know why she can't breakthrough? right?"
Tatsuya rubbed his chin, "I am not entirely sure, but it should be her cultivation technique."
Miyuki mused, "But, she is Nether Masters Foster child."
Tatsuya looked at Miyuki, "I think it has something to with the two different aura's deeps within her. Time around her also seemed a bit out of place. I wasn't able to see it before I interacted with the Temporal page. But after that, it became simple. This is just me blindly guessing, but Nether Master might not want her to reach higher ranks as it might attract Sage Emperor's attention."
Miyuki thought it made sense, "Nether is really deeply involved in all these arrangements. It probably the reason why he never leaves the Tiny World."
"Well, he is one of the leaders; Tiny World is like the last stronghold for the experts who wish to kill the Sage Emperor. Their treasury, or the last place they can sow seeds for the future. It makes sense if he is involved with someone like that."
Miyuki still found him strange, "He also doesn't seem to know about Nie Li." She thought he was part of the arrangement.
