I Am Not A Hero

Chapter - 1 Beast World

Whenever I see this world only one thought comes to my mind "why me?". It started when I and two others were summoned to this world three months ago. This world's people think I'm a Hero. But I am not a hero, I'm just a 17-year-old who doesn't want to kill anyone whether it's a human or a monster, and live a simple life like any other kid of my age, but I guess I can't live a normal life after all.

All of this started three months ago when I was going home from school, it was my daily route for going home, but I was feeling uneasy that day while walking home. Then suddenly a strange yellow glowing circle inscribed with some symbols on it appeared under my feet and I was teleported here in this world.

In this world humans and beasts live separately while both sides maintain their distance from the other race and take care of their own, there are also some other mythical creatures in this world that were only a children's story in my world. The best example is dragons. Yeah, a "Dragon" those beings were only myths in my world but here it's real. These monsters' Strength varies from each other some are weak enough to not do any harm to human and some have gained the intellect while having the strength to rival the strongest of humankind. At first, all of this was frightening for me when I saw the monsters for the first time.

When I first arrived in this world the first person that I meet was a knight, the moment I opened my eyes in this world, he was standing in front of me with some clothes in his hand. I looked at him and his build was quite strong he was tall with huge biceps and a sword hanging on his waist. He came closer to me and offer me clothes which he had been holding for some time, suddenly it struck me that I'm feeling cold and realized that I was standing naked in front of this guy. I grabbed the clothes and wear them quickly, they were loose but it wasn't the time to complain about this, luckily only this guy was in the room.

After I wear my clothes, he introduces himself as "I'm Knight Lucas Cano of kingdom Quewilire, I know you have a lot of questions in your mind and you will get your answers after we meet the king. Follow me." He started walking towards the exit and I followed him from behind.

After walking for around ten minutes, we reached a large hallway where the king was sitting on his throne. He was not too old; he was the complete opposite of what I had imagined him to be. The person sitting in front of me is around the age of twenty, and I don't know why but I was feeling intimidated by him. When he saw us approaching him, he had a smile on his face for some reason.

"Finally, the second one is here. It's an honor to meet you, sir hero. I'm king Albert, I'm sure you have a lot of questions for me and wondering where are you right now. Well from the different environment you can already guess you're not on Earth. The first person that we summoned had already given us details about the world where he came from, so we know a little bit about your world." I was startled by the response because he mentioned the first guy, they summon but he didn't tell me what happened to him, did they torture him for this little information?

"Okay, I get that much. So, where am I right now? And what happened to the person you have summoned before?" saying these words in front of this guy took all of my courage. This time king's smile got bigger and he said "Don't worry we didn't kill him as you're thinking. He is helping us and it's been a month since he been here, he is doing great here. You will soon meet him" after hearing this I had an awkward smile on my face but the king continued "This world is different from yours with humans, here also lives beasts and they had started to attack us now. We need your help to defeat them." After knowing the reason, I was shocked for a second.

"Why my help? I can't even defeat someone of my size. What made you think I can defeat beasts, maybe you have gotten the wrong person, send me back to earth" after hearing this king didn't say anything immediately, he was thinking about something.

"You're different from the previous one but believe me, you're the right person." King started walking towards his throne to sit. "Lucas give him your sword for a second" the king ordered for this Lucas pulled out his sword and handed it over to me. The moment I grab the sword a window pops up in front of my eyes. Giving me the details about the sword, it felt like a game screen but it was real. "You can see the screen, right? I told you we didn't make a mistake you're a hero and you have to accept it. For now, Lucas will give you training and basic details of how we live here and what we do" King looked towards Lucas and he nodded after hearing this. "Oh, wait I forget to ask you your name." the king asked "Max Morningstar" and I walked away with Lucas leading the way.

Lucas was leading the way but I don't know where he was taking me to. So, I quietly followed him for the time being. After walking for more than 20 minutes he stopped in front of a room, "Sir, this will be your room, you should rest for some time I will come later to take you for training and if you need anything you can use the Communication stone inside the room for calling a maid. For now, you should go to sleep cause your body is tired of teleportation from your world to ours" after saying this Lucas walked away in another direction.

I open the door and was surprised to see the interior it was too good, but the moment my eyes fell on the bed I started feeling drowsy. I walked toward the bed and lay down my body on it. "So, he was telling the truth." I fell asleep with these last thoughts in my mind.

After waking up I looked for the stone that Lucas told me about, it was placed near a small table next to the door. "How did I miss this when I entered the room," Max said aloud. He picked up the stone and again a screen pops up in front of him giving him detail about the stone. After reading the info about the stone from the screen Max gets to know how to use it. He just had to double tap on the stone and it will connect to another linked stone. The instant Max tapped on the stone it lit up and a girl's voice come out from it.

"Do you need anything sir?" the girl from the other side asked Max. "Can you tell Lucas that I'm awake and also can I get something to eat?" "Food will be prepared and will be sent to your room in a couple of minutes. As for your other request, we will inform sir Lucas about you." Max was relieved to know that

After waiting for some minutes someone comes with food into the room. Max was amazed by the quantity and quality of food it truly was a royal feast but only for him. Max ate all of the delicious food. Lucas also arrived in the room the moment Max was done with his food.

"Should we head out for some basic training now? It will be best for you if you get to learn this as soon as possible" for this Max nodded and stood up from his seat. "Follow me" after this Lucas starts leading the way to the training ground.

"So how long have you been fighting these beasts for? Have you fought one before?" Max questioned since he still hadn't seen any beasts yet and with Lucas's position, he was sure he fought with them before.

"Yeah, I had fought them before and they are quite hard to kill. They are fast and powerful and the most annoying thing about them is that their one unique specialty that differs from one beast to another. That's why we always hunt them in groups, so we can ensure our safety if the beast has a unique specialty that we aren't aware of. Lucas briefs Max about how the beasts are and what are they capable of.

"Look like we are here, now we should start with your training" Lucas smiled while looking ahead. A huge open area and lots of people were sparing with each other some were doing their training alone while some were also practicing different weapons alone. Amidst all of this, a guy was sitting in the corner of the ground and he had a smile on his face when he saw me.
