Chapter- 16 Finding A Sword

After crossing the border, it took nearly an hour for Max and others to arrive at the entrance of the first city. On the way to the city, Lucas informed Max more about this kingdom, there are only three cities in this kingdom that are ruled by the queen here.

When they entered the city, other than Lucas everyone was amazed by the view that was in front of them. The number of people and the stores that were there were a lot compared to their kingdom. Most of the people had their weapons with them, Max, Donny, and Ron, all assumed them as hunters. While Lucas had been out to other kingdoms to complete some tasks assigned by the king, Donny, and Ron hadn't so they had been as amazed as Max who wasn't from this world in the first place.

Before they run away to see other new things, Lucas grabs them and takes them to a nearby inn for rest. Lucas had been to this city so he took all of them straight to the inn available for outsiders. Lucas paid the owner for a two-day stay and got three rooms one for each except him. He was planning something else for himself.

After Lucas make sure that everyone gets into their room to rest, he goes out of the inn and head to the inner area of the city. After coming here Lucas needs to find someone who could help him to know more about the attack that happened two days ago. While Lucas was on his to meet that person, in his room Max was planning how he could earn Exp. quickly to level up.

Inside the inn, Donny and Ron had already gone to sleep even though it was daytime they did as they were instructed by Lucas. While Max wasn't planning to get any rest at all, after confirming that no one was around he used his skill 'Dimensional Travel' and disappeared from the room to appear on the ground outside of the inn, Max had chosen to appear at the backside of inn cause' there will no one see him appearing out of thin air.

He needed to level up his 'Dimensional Travel' and see what another feature will it gain after leveling up. Max started to walk from there to the front of the inn and headed off in a random direction to look around the area first which he wasn't able to do before cause' of Lucas. Now that Lucas is not with him, he can freely look around the area.

After looking around at several stores which were selling clothes and accessories, he finally come upon a store who were selling weapons. After looking at the exterior of the store from the outside which was nothing special, it was like a normal store not too big and not too small. The only difference was that, unlike those clothing stores in front of the store, there was a cross-like symbol made on the board of the store with actual spears and 'Weapons' written down there.

Reading the board Max entered the store, all the other stores had their products visible from the outside that was put there to attract customers to enter their store but there was not a single weapon was visible from the outside. After he opened the door to the store, the doorbell rang and the owner who was sleeping in his seat opened his eyes to see who had come.

After seeing that the young boy had entered that old man again closed his eyes and said "Disturb me only if you have the money to buy if not better get out of my store" after saying this the old man didn't pay any heed and again fell asleep on his chair behind the counter. After hearing the old man Max was glad that this store was still selling otherwise, he was thinking that this store had gone out of business cause from the moment Max had found this store no one had entered there, and not a single person was inside other than the owner who had again gone to sleep.

Seeing that the owner was not gonna wake up to show him the items here, Max started browsing the store. They were mostly spears here on sale, on every rack, there was a different kind of spear with a different design and length. After looking around the whole store Max wasn't able to find a single sword that he can buy, other than a spear Max had seen some arrows and shields but nothing else. Not knowing what to do Max got to the old man who was sleeping.

"Excuse me. Do you have any swords here cause' I had looked around the whole store and I couldn't find one" Max said to the old man. The old man was not sleeping he had just kept his eyes closed all this time cause' he had opened his eyes the moment Max had gotten close to him. Max had ignored this little detail thinking that it was natural when a stranger is in your store you wouldn't sleep.

"Kid I only make spears, if you want a sword go somewhere else" After saying this the old man stand up and stretched himself. "If you don't have any swords what about a bow, I had seen some arrows here, it's not like you just sell arrows without a bow here?" he questioned the old man.

"Kid, it's my store I would sell anything I like if you don't find anything to your liking here, you can go to other stores. It's not like this is the only weapon store here" the old man answered, hearing it Max felt like this guy doesn't want to sell anything. And thought this might be the reason that no one is here in this store.

After realizing that the old man won't be nice to him no matter what he asks for, Max quietly left his store and head somewhere else to find other stores that might sell weapons. After Max left the store, the old man sighed and said "Kids his age should not get themselves into any kind of danger" he said that and started to clean the weapons that have some dust on them.

"That old man was a bit rude but it's okay I'll look for another store and get myself a sword before I start hunting beasts," Max said to himself and started to look around the stores that were selling weapons. He was only able to practice with the sword when Lucas was training him and thus Max was thinking to use the sword for now.

After looking around half of the city Max still wasn't able to find a store that was selling a good sword all the swords that he had come across were made up of basic-tier beast crystals. Thus, he didn't buy one of them for himself. "Does no one use a sword in this city?" Max thought, now he didn't know what to do he was been wandering in this city for nearly three hours and was disappointed to not be able to get a good weapon. Most of the stores here are selling clothes and they are also getting a lot of customers.

Now Max was walking gloomily to find another store he had come across a store that he should have look from the start.
