Chapter – 45 Another Hunting Place

Max, Bob, and the old man all three of them were sitting together inside the old man's shop. While Bob was explaining to his gramps, how he met Max and what things happened after that, how they fought beasts together, and how Lucas asked him to not get involved with Max. And after that, he hadn't met Max until now. "I didn't know this shop was run by your grandpa, Bob. He and you are very different people." Max was still surprised when he said that to Bob. "What do you mean by he and I are different, we are exactly the same." The old man was unpleased by Max saying that they had different behavior.

"Bob, first of all, I would like to apologize to you about what my friend said to you that day and I hope we can again go to hunts sometimes. He was just worried about my safety but now for some reason, he has to leave my side, and now everything is left on me." Max lowered his head as he apologized to Bob. The old man didn't intercept Max, if someone felt wrong then they should apologize it doesn't matter what the other person says. "At least this kid has some manners, otherwise I would have beaten him myself." The old man thought.

"I can understand Max, your friend was not wrong about what he said. I was a stranger to both of you so being cautious about me was natural. And yeah, we can go hunting together next time." Bob smiled saying that. Now, he was not going to be alone again while he goes for hunts. "Great, then maybe we can head out when this beast has been taken down. I have gotten a bit stronger than last time, so you won't have to worry about my safety too much." Max was confident in his skills now that he would be able to handle Rare-tier beasts on his own, with the increase in his agility stats it was easy to dodge the attacks and make his attack faster making the beast unable to avoid it.

"Yeah, we should wait till the beast is killed. I don't know who those fools were killing only one of them rather than killing both of them. Didn't those people know that King-tier beasts always live in pairs?" Bob was a bit angry in his voice as because of those people who killed the king-tier beast, everyone in the city was in potential danger. There was a high chance that the beast will leave its territory and will come here, taking the lives of innocent people who had never even gotten close to the forests in fear of the beasts.

Hearing those things from Bob, Max was feeling that he should tell them about yesterday; how there was a group of people in the forest who hunted down the beast, while he stole the Crystal from them. But there was a chance that it would put him and them in the danger, what if Bob told the guards about that group of hunters, that guy from yesterday might find out about this and he will surely come after Bob thinking that he was the one who stole the crystal from him. Max dropped the idea as it was not going to benefit them and it will be putting them in the danger.

"Do only people from this city go to the forest to hunt? Or are there other places where people come from to hunt here?" Max asked he was still not aware of the surrounding area; he was new to this whole world and Lucas had only told him so little about the geographical structure of this world. Max had only been to some specific places and other than those places he had no idea about the surrounding parts. "In the future, I should also spend some time learning about this place's geography. It would be helpful in the future." Max thought as he made sure that he will do that in the future whenever he got the time.

"Also are there any other places where we can go hunting?" Max was hoping there should be other places like the forest near here, compared to humans the number of beasts was nearly doubled or tripled in numbers. It was just that they don't leave their territories too easily otherwise it would have been really troublesome for humans to survive in there; there were some occasions when a couple of beasts would try to attack the human city but that was always dealt by the guards of the city before the beasts would even come closer to the cities. "Lucas, also said that there were also Beastman's living in this world, they were people who have gained the intellect to communicate and established their own kingdom." Remembering about that Max also got reminded about the war that would be happening between humans and beastman.

"Yeah, there are some other places. Do you want to go there?" Bob said the old man like his usual behavior had gone to sleep on his chair and let these two discuss about their hunting plans. "If you want, we can head there now, one of them is really close to here. It's a cave and the beasts there are only around advance-tier, there might be some of them who might be Rare-tier but it's nothing that will be too dangerous for you." Bob started giving the details about that place to Max, as he should be aware of the things he should be expecting from that place, and after sharing everything both of them decided to head there.

The route to the cave was the same route, Max had always used to go for the forest but somewhere in the middle before reaching the forest, Bob had taken a different route, after taking that route it took around half an hour to reach the entrance of the cave to them. The cave was a part of the mountain, it was located at the backside of the mountain, also there was no possible way to climb the mountain from there. This mountain was inhabited by the beasts but if someone wants to go there, they have to travel all the way around to the front of the mountain and at that place, there was a path carved out for the hunters. But hunting at those mountains was pretty hard because of the terrain.

"This is the place, you were talking about?" Max looked at Bob after seeing the cave entrance was around twelve feet high, it was wide enough to fit two cars there. "Bob, you are sure that we aren't going to meet any big beasts here, right? Cause this place feels like there will be huge beasts inside." Max was worried cause Lucas has told him about the beast that attacked the castle was residing in a cave, just like this big. "I don't wanna meet a beast like that here. If Bob is saying it's safe then I should head inside." Max thought and headed inside with Bob.

Bob had prepared some flaming torches before coming here, he lit them up and handed one of them to Max to carry around, while the place was not too big it was necessary for him to also have one of the torches with him. "Max, look do you see that thing on the wall there?" Bob pointed to a purple object that was stuck on the wall some distance ahead of them. "Yeah, is that the beast you told me about," Max questioned to which Bob just nodded in answer to Max's question. "You will be able to kill this on your own right, Max?" Bob was aware of Max's strength, but still, he felt like confirming.

"Yeah, you should stay here," Max said while he was getting close to the beast. The beast was aware that Max was coming toward him as it has detached itself from the wall and now it was on the ground. The beast had a shell on its back, at the downside of that shell there were eight small black legs and its eyes and mouth were in front, but most of its eyes were covered by the part of the shell. This beast was an insect type and when it dropped on the ground there was a little 'thud' sound, indicating that the shell was heavy.

It started crawling towards Max at its full speed but seeing the speed of the beast Max wanted to laugh at it cause the beast was moving very slowly, Max would be faster than that beast when he walk, turning his head around Max looked at Bob because he hadn't mentioned their speed to be this slow. Still, a beast was a beast they were stronger than humans for a certain reason, with letting his guard down Max had to dash towards the beast which was still a bit far away. "Their shells are heavy and sturdy with my Advance-tier weapon, I don't think I'll be able to damage their shell. The best way would be flipping the beast on its back and killing it then.

Max had closed the gap between him and the beast, using his sword he shoved the tip of his sword at the ground where the beast was and then he used his sword to flip and made the beast sent to air, the beast wasn't damaged by it. Seeing the beast was in the air and was flipping Max jumped upward, and used his sword to make a slash at the beast's body which wasn't covered by the shell. The beast's blood splattered around the area as Max killed the beast in a single strike. "Told you hunting here is really easy." Bob came closer to Max's position as he commented that.
