Chapter – 22 Request Complete

Lucas had known that the beast couldn't release the gas again for now, after dodging the gas from earlier Lucas had also seen the range it covered. With the small body of the beast, it was only able to emit the gas within a two-foot range of itself. Running toward the beast Lucas was anticipating where the beast might try to dodge, but the beast was not showing any moments at all; it was just waiting there.

"What do you think will happen?" Max was nervous seeing Lucas running towards the beast, if the best released that gas again and Lucas got hit by that none of us will be able to save Lucas from that beast then. Reaching close to the beast Lucas attacked right at where the beast was but the beast was able to doge it, with its small body it was easy to dodge Lucas's attack.

Lucas continues to swing at the beast but every attack was easily dodged by the beast, swing after swing was made by Lucas but his sword was only hitting the air. Seeing that Lucas was continuously attacking, the beast again emitted the sleeping gas but just like before Lucas was able to dodge it on time.

"Thirty-three seconds, so I will have only thirty seconds to attack the beast after it releases the gas again, then I have to dodge it," Lucas thought in his mind, while attacking he was also calculating the time it took the beast to emit the gas again. Now that I know the exact time I just have to back off from the beast at the right moment and I'll be fine.

The gas released by the beast had now vanished and Lucas again continued to attack the beast but the beast was able to dodge every single one of them swiftly, seeing that attacking normally won't work. Lucas signaled the others to surround the beast. Seeing Lucas signal, everyone jumps out from the bushes where they were hiding to see the ongoing fight between Lucas and the little rabbit.

Looking at the beast all four of them were surrounding the beast from all four directions, there was not a place now where the beast can run to. "Be careful, the beast emits the gas every thirty seconds. So, make sure you distance yourself at the right time otherwise you will fall asleep here." Warning others Lucas started attacking the beast and others were waiting till the beast again emit the gas, so they can match their timing.

"Something's odd, why is the beast only dodging my attacks and why is not attacking back? A rare-tier beast shouldn't be weak enough that it will only rely on its ability to kill others." Lucas thought while backing off as the time had come for the beast to release the gas and the moment Lucas had backed off from the beast as it had released the gas. Seeing that the beast had released the gas now others also joined Lucas to attack, while counting till the beast again emit the gas.

With everyone attacking the beast at the same time, the beast was having trouble dodging the attacks. Now it was a matter of time before the beast get hurt and it happened soon while attacking Ron was able to hit the beast and getting hit by the attack the beast stumbled for a second taking advantage of that chance Donny was able to hit the beast on its back. And all four of them backed off before the gas hit them which the beast had just emitted.

When the beast released the gas, it was able to relax for a second from all the attacks coming from them but not for long the beast was again bombarded by the attacks from all directions. With visible scratches on its body, everyone knew that with this speed it won't take long for the beast to fall now.

With the scratches on the beast's body, anger was also visible on the beast's face, if it could speak it would have been cursing all four of them to gang up on him like that. It was clear that the beast was only fast but its body was not tough even the advanced-tier beast from earlier had a tough body and compared to this rare-tier it was better. But not every beast excels in every aspect cause even though the advanced-tier beast had a tough body but they were able to hit him continuously but it's not the same for this beast.

The fight continued for some time with the beast getting injured over time and all four of them dodging the gas emitted by the beast. With the same thing over and over all of them were getting tired but there was something that surprised Max the beast was willing to take a hit from others but it was making sure that it doesn't get hit by Lucas. "I think Lucas's sword is of an even higher tier than the beast" Max thought while continuing to attack the beast.

And after half an hour the beast was slain and it was done by Ron at the last moment when the beast was avoiding Lucas's attack it had left an opening for others to attack Taking advantage of that Ron slayed the beast, now the lifeless body of the beast was lying at the open ground in the dark forest. Everyone was glad that the fight was over but Max was a little disappointed cause he had not gotten a lot of Exp. from killing a Rare-tier beast maybe cause' everyone had killed the beast together.

"We will rest here for some time after that we will head back to the city, Donny did you take out the crystal from the beast?" Lucas asked and Donny was already done with his task cause' he was already holding a Crystal the size of an egg but compared to the other two crystals that Max had with him, this one had a brighter glow within it.

Seeing the crystal Donny was holding Lucas was glad that he is done with this small request from his friend, He took the crystal from Donny and put it inside the pouch that he was carrying. Now everyone was relaxing at the spot where the beast was slain, remembering soothing from earlier Max moved to the spot where the beast was digging earlier when Lucas started attacking him.

Everyone was sitting on the other side, so it was not a problem for Max to go where the beast was digging, when he gets close there, he saw that the beast was burrowing the hole for something but whatever it was. It was still inside the ground, "Lucas don't you think we should look here, I think the beast was digging something up here." Max did not want to get into any trouble so he called for Lucas to look at this place.

Hearing Max everybody got there to look at what it was, seeing what Max was pointing at Lucas realized what it might be. "You should dig this up, there might be beast crystal there. Some beasts stored the crystals to use later when they are close to evolving." Hearing Lucas Max was shocked but it was reasonable cause it was not like a beast might be directly born as a high-tier beast.

After knowing what it was Max hastily started digging the hole while Donny and Ron get back to where they were sitting earlier but Lucas stand near Max for precaution what if there was a beast under the ground? And Lucas did not want to take a chance again.

After digging for more than a foot under the ground something comes into their view.
