Hello! Mr Mask

The night breeze was cool, the city was buzzing with busy people since it was still eight pm at night. Night activities went on and people were lively as they went around with their business. Amongst the sea of busy citizens, one person seemed out of the world as she padded her sluggish feet on the ground.

Jesy was endlessly sighing as the cold breeze flew about, picking the strands of her dark long hair as it flew about causing goosebumps on her white skin.

"I hope things get better soon."

Jesy murmured to herself as her clouded eyes looked around the busy road. Due to how much alcohol she drank, her cheeks were flushed and she could barely walk properly.

"My acting skills are perfect after all, I should pass the audition."

Jesy said to herself, her voice was barely audible and it was husky.

A few hours ago, Jesy was inside the four walls of the best entertainment company in the country, performing her best before five strict judges. Working with High Life Entertainment was something she had always wished for, after all, they were the best in the world. Many of the country's most successful artists were nurtured under High Life Entertainment, who wouldn't want to work with them?

Jesy auditioned for the role given to her by the judges and she saw how impressed they were with her and it made her happy, she wasn't the only person who attended the audition, they were many of them but it was a given that only a few would be accepted.

After the audition, Jesy was so very excited and she wanted to share her happiness with someone. She quickly left the company and was planning to go home to share the news of her audition with her family when the sad reality dawned on her, the family in question wouldn't even listen to her. The only thing her family ever did was to cause her unending misery and their hatred for her knew no bounds, but the reason for it was a mystery to Jesy.

Since her family wasn't an option, she decided to go to her newfound boyfriend to share the good news with. With that in mind, Jesy happily went to his house without informing him, she wanted to give him a surprise visit, but when she got there, what she saw made her shocked, it was an unbelievable sight, she couldn't believe it even though it was real. Her boyfriend was having a fun time with another woman in his bedroom. Jesy didn't want to spend another second there and she quickly left his house with disbelief written all over her face.

Now she had nobody to share her good news with. Her boyfriend would have been a better option, but how could she even tell him about the audition when he was having a fun time with another woman in his house? Jesy could not deny the fact that she was hurt, seeing her boyfriend cheating on her made her feel miserable and angry. Her anger was boiling in white flames and she needed to cool off. Jesy went to a nearby bar and bought bottles of alcohol and that was how she ended up getting drunk.

As the wind blew her hair, she suddenly had the urge to puke and she staggered to a corner, she bent slightly and threw up everything in her stomach. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hands and walked to a bench and sat on it.

Jesy began hiccuping as she said incoherent words to herself, memories upon memories began playing in her head like slideshows, but they weren't happy memories, they were memories of her sad and miserable time with her family for the past twenty-three years.

"Why would they hate me? I know am not ugly am even more pretty, why are they treating me like am a sack of goat shit?"

Jesy hiccuped as her eyes danced around the place, she was drunk and it was making her say things that are inaudible to herself.

Jesy had grown up in a house filled with nothing but hate towards her, her parents never appreciated her presence, her younger sister couldn't even stand the sight of her and she had no idea why, but she endured, she tried to tell herself it was only a matter of time before a miracle would happen, but up till this day, nothing changed.

Nothing changed and she was about to lose hope when Josh Anderson suddenly popped out of nowhere, professing his unending love for her, promising her the world and everything that comes with it. As stupid as she could be, she fell for it without giving it a second thought, why? Was it because she never felt how it was to be loved by someone? Jesy and Josh became a couple and Jesy thought it was the happiest thing in the world but everything shattered when she caught him cheating on her.

"How dare he play me like that?"

Jesy hissed as she tried to get the image of when she caught Josh cheating out of her head, but it was hard, it kept playing like a broken tape.

Josh was a rich guy living in a huge expensive house and that was all Jesy knew about him. She caught him screwing with a woman in his house, it was hard to believe and she figured that she had no slightest idea about the guy she was dating and when she did her research, she was beyond astonished to know that Josh Anderson was the son of a rich businessman and was also a playboy. Jesy finally realized how much of a fool she had been all these while believing the stupid lies Josh told.

Jesy was never treated right and was always being reprehended for every little thing that mattered less and it was something that got her baffled, she tried speaking out about her mistreatment and questioned why she was being treated unfairly but she got no definite and satisfying answer, as time went by, she grew from a naive girl to a wise lady and she also began to figure out that she no longer wanted to keep bothering herself about the hatred of her family towards herself, it was as if she had grown used to it but at the same time not used to it.

"That's fine, I don't care anymore! Damn all of you! Do you think I will be bothered about you guys? I will be bothered only in hell, you hear me?!"

Jesy suddenly began cursing and pointing towards the night sky, her sudden movement made the people around flinch and some were already moving away as they cast weird glances at her. Her change in demeanour was so sudden and it made people maintain their distance from her.

Now her one single aim was to become independent, strong and savvy and she thought to get there was by doing what she loved most and that was to become the best actress. Ever since she was in middle school, she had always been the best drama student, her classmates and teachers loved her for it and she chose to pursue her dreams. She wanted to be the most popular and loved actress and she would work extremely hard for it.

Determination suddenly filled her dark eyes, she sat still and clenched her jaws. Her eyebrows arched as she stared ahead.

"Now, I'll show them."
