Jesy glanced at the black dress and let her gaze linger there for a while. It may sound as if Euphoria was making a suggestion from her goodwill, but Jesy definitely understood the message Euphoria was indirectly passing to her. Not just Jesy, everyone including the two staffs that were helping them shop understood what Euphoria was implying.
There was suddenly tension in the air. Stephanie looked around and awkwardly chuckle to lighten the mood, but nobody said a thing.
Euphoria's voice must have been so loud because other people who stood around heard what she said and they began murmuring and whispering amongst themselves as they gave Jesy weird glances.
Jesy squeezed her eyes shot and opened them. Turning towards Euphoria, she held her gaze on Euphoria's harmless face, how ironic. Right from the very start, Jesy had a bad feeling about Euphoria, but she brushed it off, turns out her instincts were true after all.
From this very statement that came out of Euphoria's lips, Jesy could already tell that Euphoria didn't have a liking towards her. Jesy was happy she was able to know what Euphoria really felt about her on time, it was better to know your enemy than to receive an unexpected blow.
"Who said I was confused about what dress to pick? I picked the black dress, does it look like I was confused?"
Jesy stepped forward, a stiffled smile graced her lips as she asked Euphoria. Her eyes which were brightened until few minutes ago was now ice cold and they were too freezing for Euphoria to hold.
Jesy's demoness which was locked after the night she fought with Lexi was immediately activated.
Euphoria was aghast at the sudden change in Jesy's countenance. She thought Jesy would be hurt by her words, turned out Jesy wasn't the kind of person Euphoria actually thought she might be.
"I…it…"
Euphoria was stammering and finding it difficult to make a complete sentence, Jesy gaze on her was too freezing, she couldn't even look away.
"How in the hell did you know I never shopped for expensive dresses before? You just met me today. Only I know what will fit me best, don't come here talking nonsense to me. I don't need your advise, I didn't beg for it. I have an assistant and a manager, they'll help me make good decisions, right? Ms Akira"
Jesy turned towards Akira with a light smile on her face.
"Right. You have Clara and myself to help you make decisions like this. I think the black dress would be best for you."
"Yes, that's right. Jesy has a nice figure and long legs. This black dress would only be done justice if it would be worn by Jesy. It will fit you perfectly."
Clara chipped in with a smile and turned towards Euphoria before looking away.
Stephanie could not hide the smile that creeped up her lips. It was hard to believe that Jesy said those words. A lot has really changed. Or rather, Jesy had really changed.
And she looked so cool. Stephanie was already fan-girling Jesy.
"Alright, if there's nothing else, get the black dress wrapped up."
Akira said to the staffs who bowed their heads and left with the mannequin. Akira glanced at Euphoria and held her gaze on her. Looking away, Akira said nothing more.
Euphoria was left dumbfounded. Who knew Jesy was a talker as well. Euphoria couldn't leave it standing that she was outrightly insulted in the presence of many people by a low life bitch. Her cheeks flushed red from embarrassment. She didn't want to stay any longer.
Without saying a word to anyone, she left the mall, not after swearing to get back at Jesy. Euphoria was the only daughter of a successful business woman. Right from the start, she always got everything the way she wanted. She never lost either. The feeling of being defeated was foreign and equally painful, it was even suffocating.
With her shoes hitting harshly on the marble floor, Euphoria walked out of the mall. She would surely give Jesy a payback. The fact that Jesy had an assistant and manager and was even flaunting it was what made her furious the most.
Jesy watched the retreating back of Euphoria and looked away. Looks like she's gotten herself another hater. If only she would benefit something from all the hating, she would have been handsomely rich.
Stephanie could not hold back her admiration for Jesy, she stepped up to Jesy and stood close to her from behind and said.
"Dear friend, you were so cool."
Stephanie said with a bright smile on her face.
She crossed her hands around Jesy's shoulders from behind and rested her chin on Jesy's right shoulder.
"That's right, I thought I was seeing Black Widow standing before me. You were on fire. No, you were ice cold and freezing."
Clara concurred. Jesy chuckled at the both of them. She honestly didn't know she had this side of her, but she was grateful. With her Black Widow prowess, according to Clara, she would be able to survive.
Jesy already knew the entertainment industry was a place that everyone would be hating on each other and would want to rise to the top. Jesy sucked in a huge amount of air and waited for their dress to be ready.
She didn't know how much that dress costed and she wasn't interested in knowing, but she was sure the amount was huge enough to change her life for good. Her thoughts wandered to what tonight's banquet would be like. She never attended banquets before, this would be her first time.
Who else is anticipating the banquet?
