Banshee Scream.

They turned to the direction of the voice in a slow pace with both Clara and Jesy's heart thumping in their chest. Akira turned fully and gave a bow to the person with a respective smile on her face.

"Good afternoon Director Jeff, it's good to see you."

Akira greeted.

Clara and Jesy let out a breath of relief they didn't know they held when they saw that Akira was accustomed to the man. The outcome wouldn't have been good for them if it was someone who would report them to the CEO after eavesdropping on them while they gossiped about the masked CEO. And the both of them were new people, it wouldn't be a good impression if they were caught.

They immediately bowed their heads and greeted him with an awkward smile,

"Good afternoon Director!"

They both chorused with their heads still low.

Director Jeff looked at the two of them with a smile on his face. He wasn't surprised. Since the new masked CEO resumed work, he had come across a lot of people talking about the CEO and why he was hiding his face behind a mask, even he too was curious but what could they do? They were only an employee.

"Ms Akira, it's also good to see you. And who are they?"

He asked as he pointed his hands towards the still bowed Jesy and Clara. He hadn't seen them around before.

Akira smiled as she turned her gaze towards Jesy and Clara.

"It's fine, you can raise your heads."

Akira chuckled at how silly both Jesy and Clara were being.

They immediately raised their heads after receiving an assurance from Akira. From now hence, they needed to be careful around to avoid trouble. The both of them looked at everywhere around Director Jeff but his eyes, they couldn't meet his eyes after how he just heard them talk about the CEO, it was too awkward.

"These are the new people am working with. Jesy, my artist and Clara, her assistant. Jesy, Clara, this is Director Jeff, the director of the current ongoing movie."

Akira introduced them to each other and they both bowed their heads but Clara's eyes were shining brightly like the twinkling stars of the night. She was standing before a movie director, it was a dream come true given that she was a lover and a die hard fan of movies.

They all chuckled when they saw how Clara was staring at Director Jeff like a fan girl.

"Where are you ladies heading to?"

Jeff asked to change the topic. Director Jeff had been working for High Life Entertainment for over seven years, he was a popularly known and respected man in the company. A lot of people showed their love and respect for him by gifting him a lot of gifts in his fortieth birthday party.

"Well…I was going to show them around the company, they are new and would be needing someone to tour them around."

Akira answered as she adjusted her handbag.

"Alright then, I should accompany you."

Jeff said with a smile, he was among the handsome directors in the company and he was still single, everyone thought so because he never talked about his personal life or anyone close to him. He had many admirers, both male and female.

"Sure, let's go."

Akira turned back and pressed the button to open the elevator door. The elevator took them to the make-up department of the company.

Both Clara and Jesy were delighted, this would be their first time of looking around the make-up department of a big company like High Life Entertainment. They couldn't hide their enthusiasm and Akira smiled when she noticed them, she was reminded of the first time she also started working.

Akira showed them around the place, she would explain briefly while they ask questions and she'll answer them and Director Jeff would chip in once in a while.

She also showed them private make-up rooms for artists who were popular and were being treated like kings because of their contributions to the company and commercial values.

Jesy was thrilled at how big each private make-up room was for just one person because they had a big share in the food chain.

"If you work hard, you'll also be given this kind of special treatment which will include not just a private make-up room, there's lot more for hardworking employees, be it an actor, dancer, singer, comedian, model etc."

Akira spoke when she noticed how awed Jesy was.

"Really?"

Jesy's eyes widened as she thought of herself receiving such treatment, it sure would feel like heaven.

"Yeah, but with all these things comes obstacles and other destructive things."

Jeff was the one who spoke this time. His words made both Jesy and Clara frown, they looked at each other as it seems like they were both confused.

"Obstacles? Destructions?"

Clara asked and her question made Director Jeff laugh while Akira just smiled.

"You think it's just all about rainbows, unicorns and sunshine? There's more, there's a dark side of the entertainment industry, so dark that it can swallow a weak person. There are…"

Director Jeff's statement was interrupted by a loud and piercing scream coming from the room opposite, they all frowned at how loud the scream was. 'Who was screaming like a banshee?'

They turned to the direction of the scream and their mouth was left wide open at the scene they saw.
