It was seven forty five in the morning, Dennis received a call from Trevor by five am in the morning to report to him as early as seven. Although, Dennis was greatly astonished, he obeyed without any further questions.
He was heading towards the elevator and every female worker greeted him as he passed. Dennis was popular for his feminine looks, the female workers would admire his looks and some would even ogle. But the male workers who were envious of the attention Dennis was garnering from the females would conclude that Dennis was gay. Some believed it but some didn't.
The elevator opened and he walked in, the women inside greeted him cheerfully with their cheeks flushed. They murmured among themselves but Dennis was thinking about why Trevor asked him to report so early, his thoughts wasn't on his surroundings, his mind was too clouded.
Every other persons inside the elevator made their stop before him because he was heading to the top floor, the CEO's office. He arrived after few minutes. He walked towards the office door and knocked once before entering. Trevor was standing facing the window that overlooked the city.
"Good morning boss, did you have a good night rest?"
Dennis asked out of courtesy but Trevor took it serious. Trevor chuckled and replied.
"I couldn't sleep properly, I was thinking about someone. Her beautiful face kept popping up in my head. She stole my sleep away from me, how heartless."
Trevor muttered but Dennis heard everything clearly. Dennis blinked and wondered if he heard wrong. Was his ears playing games with him? Definitely not.
"Boss? Are you okay? Did you hit your head somewhere?"
Dennis asked out of concern and for fear that his CEO might have lost his mental stability. He already dipped his hands inside his pocket just in case Trevor would say or do something crazy, he would quickly call for an emergency.
"Why? Do I look sick?"
Trevor turned and face Dennis, his hazel eyes sizing up his capable and intelligent assistant. Dennis awkwardly laughed. It might be he heard wrong.
"Am sorry, it's just that I thought I heard you saying some absurd things. I apologize, just don't mind me."
'I shouldn't have made the volume of that music so loud last night, now am having problems with my hearing.'
Trevor walked to his chair, but instead of sitting on it, he held the chair and stood beside it with his other hands on his waist.
"Whatever. I called you so early because I want you to hold a welcoming banquet for the newbies, tonight."
Trevor sat on his chair after speaking, he opened his laptop and was looking at something in it.
'What? A welcoming banquet for the newbies? Now this is absurd.'
Dennis shouted in his head, he gave Trevor a skeptical gaze and he awkwardly looked away when Trevor stared back.
"Is there anything else?"
Trevor asked with a raised brows, he expected a fast answer from Dennis and not a stupid stare, or was there anything wrong with his face?
Dennis cleared his throat and adjusted his tie.
"A welcoming banquet? I don't understand why sir."
Dennis looked closely at Trevor, he made sure to not miss a single reaction from him, if he noticed anything strange from Trevor, he would quickly call for an emergency treatment.
"Just because. I want to welcome the new artists with a feast. Am I not allowed to do that?"
Trevor supported his chin with his fingers. Why was his assistant acting so dumb this morning, the banquet was part of his wonderful plan to secure his wife, he wouldn't tolerate anybody coming in between his plans, not even his capable and intelligent assistant would be spared.
"Well…it's just that we haven't done anything like this before, it's surprising. Well, it's good to do changes around once in a while, I admire that sir."
Dennis bowed deeply before Trevor and Trevor tried to hold back the smile threatening to widen on his lips.
"Get it all ready before the estimated time."
Trevor ordered and Dennis bowed again.
"Is there anything else sir?"
Dennis asked as he typed into his tablet, the orders of his boss, but his fingers halted when he heard the word Trevor said next.
"Inform Ms Anthony's manager to get her prepared. Arrange for the company's car to drive Ms Anthony and her assistant to any shopping mall of their choice, they would need to shop for what they might need for the banquet. As for the others, get them the basic things they would need, from what they would wear to transportation, there should be no mistake. If there's nothing else, you can leave now."
"Nothing else, I'll get everything ready."
He bowed and left the office, but not after murmuring something to himself.
'Why does it seem like he's giving Ms Anthony a special treatment? That ill-mannered woman.'
Dennis mumbled in his head as he thought of Jesy's smug face.
