The Royal Protector

Everything seemed wrong in Lyra Castir's life. Her parents dying, an over protective foster 'dad', a foster brother who doesn't act like a brother, and her mysterious head injury in which she lost all her memories... just a couple examples for ya. Her only freedom is school, which to her means getting away from her life at home. On her way home from school, on a seemingly normal day for Lyra, she gets stopped by a total stranger. That's when her life gets turned upside down, and now Lyra is not only saving herself but a family she never knew she had from another realm. *** I hang up the phone, and continue walking home. I can't believe Sean would do and say something like that during school! I'm trying to shove my phone back into the phone pocket in my back pack when I trip over the big crack in the sidewalk again. Making that the third time this week! "Whoa, I gotcha!" I heard a boy say, and I feel arms wrap around me. "Gosh where have you been? What are you doing here?" He asked me. Once I was back on my feet I pushed away from the boy. "Hey Lyra it's me, Chase." the boy said. I looked him up and down, I don't recognize him. I take a step back. His face changes from pure excitement to confusion. He has blonde hair, and brown eyes, very thin figure but something about him is familiar. "I ... ah..." I don't know what to say to him. What if he is some psycho? "I've been trying to find you since the accident! Why didn't you come back home?" He asked. I take another step back, How does he know about my accident? "Lyra what's wrong?" He steps towards me, and holds out a hand. "Come on Lyra your parents are going to want to see you, so stop playing and lets go!" "My parent's? What?" I say. He looks defeated, and lets out a sigh. Now this isn't funny. My parents are dead. "Lyra co-" he begins. "How do you know my name?!" I say, I need to run. He is crazy! "Lyra it's me Chase. The last time I seen you was right before your accident." He paused. "You... you aren't playing are you?" he hesitated. "I'm sorry... I think you have the wrong Lyra." I say and walk around him, then I begin speed walking. "No I don't! I've been trying to find you for the past two years. Well, you and the others. You don't remember anything... at all?" he asked behind me. "Leave me alone!" I say. He grabs my wrist, and I whirl around. "My dad gave me pepper spray!" I say and I start digging in my back pack for it, thankful for once about him being over protective. "Your father? Are you kidding me? Lyra your father and mother are trying to find you. You don't remember who you are?" He is talking and I find the spray. "Lyra your not mortal." "If I'm not mortal what am I?" I laugh, he making up fairy tales now. "You're an elemental, a protector of the royal family in Spridge."

As his fingers dance across keyboards, he breathes life into Elysium, a stunning virtual world where technology and magic coexist. Little does he know, his creation is about to become the canvas for an extraordinary adventure. One fateful night, Grey compiles his latest creation, triggering an unforeseen cataclysm. He awakens atop a grassy hill, the world of Elysium now his reality. Before him stands Elara Stormwind, an ethereal embodiment of his creation, introducing him to the realm he forged. Wastell, a wild expanse of untamed beauty inhabited by the beast kin; Citadel, a towering metropolis driven by human ambition; and Adessa, an enchanted forest pulsing with mystical wonders – all on the western continent of Santis. Yet, amidst the splendor, a looming darkness threatens to devour Elysium. The balance has been shattered, corruption gripping the heart of the realm. The authoritarian rule of the Human Empire has unleashed chaos, and Grey's code is powerless against the forces at play. Bound by destiny, Grey and Elara embark on a quest to restore equilibrium. Alongside a band of unlikely allies, they must unravel the mysteries of Elysium, confronting demons, forging alliances, and uncovering forgotten truths. As Grey grapples with the duality of his roles – creator and participant – he discovers that his power transcends mere code. With each keystroke, he bends reality to his will, coding new abilities and forging connections that defy the fabric of the world. Yet, his mastery comes at a price; for every alteration, the world he knows shifts, erasing his former knowledge. Grey's journey unfolds on the precipice of two choices: to restore the balance and safeguard Elysium, or to embrace the world he fashioned and seize the wonders within. As he delves deeper, Grey realizes that his connection with Elysium is far more profound than he could have ever imagined. The fate of a world and the path to self-discovery intertwine in the "Mysteries of the Virtual Nexus," a tale of creation, adventure, and the enigmatic dance between reality and imagination.

So ive just finished chapter 191, and think this is a good milestone to write a review for the people who are unsure if they should give this a try (been there before). First things first, even though i really like this FF, i will try to remain objective and unbiased. First and foremost the story: The story of this FF is similar to the many others about GoT, but vastly different and original at the same time. Going into the early chapters, most FF often already reveal a clear outline and make it easy to guess what is going to happen later on, but even though this one really didnt for many things that transpire throughout the story, I personally found myself surprised and wanting more and more after certain events and the many epic fights/revelations. Also is the premise of the MC being part of the Reach, as well as establishing a completely new teritorry for himself, something ive not read in GoT FF before, and this also was portrayed in a way i would describe as realistic yet interesting. The Characters: Its GoT, so we have heaps of interesting persona´s, but also many original characters as well as originally dead ones from the story, which spice things up just the right way. I dont like it when this becomes too much and threatens to make a FF into something too different from the original, but for me personally that was definetly not the case here. Writing: No matter how good or interesting a story is, if the writing and especially its grammar is not up to the task, it often becomes unreadable and a waste of time and braincells. Fortunately that also wasnt a problem here. Although there are some minor mistakes here and there, it is mainly written in a good and coherent way, throughout the whole story so far. Now away from the webnovel criteria. The story and the MC are really interesting and the author manages to portray a vivid world with real dangers and difficulties to overcome. The MC often shows his wit and how capable he becomes, but make no mistake, not everything is solved easily or without effort. Although he becomes a superhuman (albeit not immersion breaking, as he can about beat a couple dozen soldiers on his own before collapsing from overusing his powers), in his first fights he actually just struggles to survive in any way possible. The romance is realistic and fortunately not rushed but slowly built over time, and while making allies/enemies, the MC actually thinks about his own benefits before committing to one side, or only does that partially (the comitting). Overall i still dont understand how some trash FF get 5 stars over and over (i guess bots), and some get seemingly bad reviews, but i can definetly say i really enjoy this FF up to this point and recommend reading it. Also if u have similar ones i would like to know them. Peace out

The translation is good, readable and the translator has done a good job on it... While the novel is good for Chinese fanfic standards if you can ignore the traditional things that are in almost every Chinese fic...

This story is different from the last 10 got fanfics I remember checking out. Different family start, different path (Really liked the idea of him being a... What was the word again? Basically his rank lowers to a night with the mission of conquering new territory) and a well-written story. Nothing stale here. Bullet points. No harem. The romance isn't instant. There are plenty of battles, exciting action, and well written fights. Good tactics. No cringe. No edge lord. It isn't a "High IQ" evil mc, but he is a smart cookie. He doesn't make stupid choices that make you question how. There's a system but it's super lite (Can't stand scrolling over system info. All told there is maybe 100 words of system info in this entire story.) It has some fun reputation-building. And is a fun story overall. He doesn't start an industrial revolution or bring farming techniques to the land like a hundred other fanfics have calling it the story. Writing Quality - 5. Very well written. Noticed no mistakes. The flow was never interrupted (Except for one chapter where he tried chatgpt. Author and readers agreed it didn't work lol) Stability of Updates - 4. This is a lot of story for around 4 months of writing. Only way to get a 5 from is a finished story. So it's the next best score. Story Development - 5. Love the story. Simple as. Can't wait to read more and I suggest you try it. Character Design - 5. Story and plot are linked with the characters. So for the same reason as above it's 5. They are well-written and serve the story well. World Background - 5. It's clearly GOT. But also the author knows it well enough to add extra info for people who aren't knowledgable. Should be approachable for people who aren't GOT fanatics too. The total score 4.8

I'll just say that, you can take the novel out of China but you can't take china out of the novel.

Great Character Psychology and butterfly efect. Updates almost daily and when not, it compensates it with mass release. And there is no overpowered system that makes him invincible (it only quantifies his real stats), its all witts, charisma and physical strength.

This pretty good so far. The translator does a good job of editing the grammar, but there are still a lot of mistakes regarding the places, names and titles. The overall story is pretty good, but I think the original author wasted a lot of potential for character development by over-separating the transmigrator from Sam Tarly's original personality.

This is a very good Game of Thrones fanfic it's enjoyable to read and the development of the Mc and his territory is very realistic. I also like how he isn't a know it all from the start and still makes small mistakes, he is smart but isn't some great schemer, this makes the story more believable and the payout is always worth it when he eventually wins
