The demon ceo

In a dimly lit room, a lady was frantically kicking and punching anything close to her, in her sleep she was whimpering and mumbling some incoherent words.

    She was sweating profusely "no... mummy don't go..." Her lips quivered as her eyes shot open immediately.

    She was breathing heavily, she sat up from her bed.

    Her bedside lamp turned on immediately to reveal her friend's worried face.

    Lyra patted Racheal's back slowly it has become a usual routine for them to wake up in the middle of the night because of her nightmares.

    Racheal lost her parents at an early age to a car accident on their way to a family picnic.

    Unfortunately for them they couldn't make it there after the car fell off a cliff, only Racheal survived and was later taken to an orphanage where they both met and became best of friends.

    She couldn't bear seeing her friend like this, so she hummed a lullaby that Racheal loves to listen to since she was a child.

     Few minutes later Racheal calmed down and soon drifted to sleep on Lyra's laps.

   Lyra maintained that position and rested her back on the bed still humming the lullaby till she drifted into sleep again.

     The next morning the alarm clock beside the bed woke the two from their sleep.

    Racheal was the first to get up only to realize she slept on Lyra's laps. She must have been uncomfortable throughout the night.

    Lyra sluggishly opened her eyes "is it morning yet?" She mumbled loud enough for Racheal to hear.

    Racheal's eyes darted to the clock and hurried out of the bed.

   She had an interview today and she has only twenty minutes to get ready or else she might miss it.

    She rushed to her wardrobe ransacking it for a suitable outfit to wear,"don't worry go and freshen up I will take care of that" lyra hurriedly got out of bed to help her friend.

   Racheal came out of the bathroom to see lyra fast asleep, she smiled shaking her head. She knew lyra was tired because of her.

    She picked up the outfit lyra brought out, lyra loves fashion a lot and she has helped her a lot whenever it came to her dress.

    It was a black pencil skirt and a white chiffon blouse she nodded at Lyra's choice.

    She got ready immediately and kissed lyra goodbye before leaving the apartment hurriedly.

      Racheal arrived at the front desk of the company " hi I'm here for the interview" Racheal casually stated to see the scrutinizing gaze the receptionist gave her.

   "You are late by five minutes, anyway it's the last seventeenth floor.

     The receptionist smirked at Racheal's back seeing her hurried footsteps. She was quite sure their boss won't take it easy with her.

     Racheal took in a deep breath as she saw his messenger came out of the office."you can go in now".

     Hearing his words for some reasons made her heart beat faster than usual, she gulped and entered the office.

    Her face brightened immediately she stepped into the large office, she almost forgot the main reason she was here.

      She felt a strange aura in the office, all her hair stood on ends.

    She met the gaze of a pair of black orbs, she unknowingly quivered his eyes something was different about them.

    She unconsciously started checking him out. His midnight black hair was neatly gelled and permed perfectly that she couldn't see a strand out of place, her eyes moved down to his pointed nose, his well defined cheekbones and lips.

    Her eyes trailed back to his lips.....

     He was flabbergasted by the weird girl in front of him that was obviously checking him out.

     Racheal met his viscous gaze once again, she mentally face palmed herself and smiled.

     He was taken back by her beautiful smile.

   None of his employees ever smile in his presence instead they get frightened.

    " Good morning sir" she smiled politely while he remained unmoved.

    She  has done her research about him, he usually maintained a stoic expression.

    "I'm sorry l arrived late" she explained.

   "You are late, leave" he replied coldly.

    Racheal sighed in frustration, it seems she was jinxed or something whenever she gets a job she always ends up fired.

   And now she hasn't even been interviewed yet.

      Her face looked sullen, she didn't miss the mocking face of the employees.

    She knew something would definitely go wrong today so she wasn't so surprised.
