The year was not going according to the vision recorded by someone in her time when she used an artifact capable of doing so.
Yao, better known- actually only known to her other students and equals as the Ancient one was having a troublesome time.
As the name suggested- she was in fact, Ancient and One. (pun intended)
The first act of the timeline going awry was discovered while she was on her patrol as she called.
The price of a 2-liter Pepsi had gone up a whole 10 cents!
While the price difference did not seem to affect the lives of the people much, it was a life-changing revelation for Yao as something absolute in her mind had been changed.
Half a millennia ago, she had encountered all and observed all the future possibilities, and had found one with the best deterrent for the future in her mind.
She had worked hard in solitude for the desired result to follow her calling, shaping the timeline as the universe knew it.
In one way she was manipulating the events and history as the future generation would know, but that was the most she could do if she was right in her calling from the artifact, The Eye of Agamotto.
After doing her part, she parted ways with the artifact, keeping it hidden for safekeeping until her future successor would take over the mantle of sorcerer supreme from her shoulders, without any worries as all the events of the future were already accounted for.
But the deterrence of the price of something so minute such as Pepsi in the lives of the people had brought out the worst in her, the fear of the unknown, and the timeline going awry.
She rushed back to the hidden sanctum of the sorcerers, the Kamar-Taj, opening the portal directly to the armory where the eye was hidden in plain sight, its value only to be known to her and the masters residing in the sanctum.
She equipped the Eye, opening it through the means taught to her by her predecessor.
And there she saw it, falling into the colorful realm of possibilities.
Branches emerge from already formed branches, further developing into more developed paths for the timeline to follow.
Infinite possibilities derived from the initial finite number of futures, emerging from the day the world experienced unexplainable phenomena.
While she floated in the plethora of prospects, she saw something dark, yet enticing.
As old and ancient as she was, curiosity got the better of her as she guided herself to indulge in the study of the unexplainable visions provided by the Eye of Agamotto.
'It is not hostile, it is not welcoming either... Maybe... if I do this..." She reopened the Eye while using it was already being used to open the way to the plethora of possibilities...
Suddenly, the blackish-purplish waves of the timeline ward off the floating Yao, as she was thrown away out of the realm of the Agamotto, or the real plane of existence, whose entry was provided by others by the means of the time stone.
While the sorcerer supreme allowed themselves to use the Eye, they could not use the time stone to its full potential.
Any infinity stone in the hands of a mortal was a straight-way ticket to the afterlife, with only the endurance-type beings able to pick one up with their bare hands.
Historically, Time stone, Power stone, Space stone, Mind stone, or any of the infinity stones were always covered with some sort of controlling artifact, that could channel a measly amount of power of the stone for the user to do his bidding.
The eye of Agamotto, the Orb of Morag, the Tesseract, or the Specter could only channel a part of the power for the mortals to use them without perishing into ash.
Unsurprisingly, continued of the Artifacts wasn't without its demerits. It could damage the user in all sorts of ways, Throwing them randomly into the universe(Space stone), Destroying their future potential(Power stone), Making their emotions go awry(Mind Stone), Deluding them into the possibilities of what could be and not what actually is(Reality stone).
With the Soul stone being the only one that could be used without any price to be paid as it demanded the price in advance.
The time stone, similarly was not without its drawbacks, having two of them instead of one, arguably being the most practical stone in existence.
It could either refuse its power to the user, which was not much, as being denied power was still better than perishing into oblivion for most. Or it could shorten the life span of the user, not burning the vitality out of him but hastening the cause of the initial demise of the user...

The US government, Shield, FBI, and every investigation organization and branch of various governments were still looking for Batman, with no results in hand after searching for him for the last 6 months...
The authorities' main priority now was to pass the blame to one another, most blaming the incompetence of S.H.I.E.L.D. as they were the separate division with a more...specific focus.
Not a week went by without the Director being blamed for his incompetence before the world council, with the UN demanding reports on the investigations periodically.
The news channels had caught the wind of the activities of the caped crusader, easily tracing back his origins to the portal of NYC, by dating his appearance to be a month after the phenomenon's disappearance.
There were efforts to suppress the news to go out but without any results as anyone could bring the two plus two together, with the portal being a big TV conspiracy for a whole two years and news of masked vigilantes a month later in the vicinity.
Most News channels had dubbed him as an alien vigilante, coming to earth to right the wrongs, as it gave them views and good PR, while some had their own conspiracy theories surrounding the Bat.
The overall reaction was somewhat mild, with him dubbed unlawful in the eyes of the law, but the results were obvious.
Obviously, some news channels were ahead of others, hosting private interviews and audiences with the help of networks they had in the authorities.
-News flash- Here we are with NYC police commissioner, Mr. George Stacy on the masked vigilante roaming in the alleys of Hell's Kitchen and New York, Mr. Stacy, what are your views on this Batman?
"Well, reporter, we do not have much information on this Batman but he is beating thugs left and right, acting unlawfully in the state. We have 46 cases filed against the vigilante, with 3 being from the police force itself and the state is demanding his surrender."
"But sir, according to a CNN report, the crime in the unlawful Hell's Kitchen has gone down by a whole 37% from what it was just a year before. And as far as I have been informed that is a huge value for America's Gotham" {I could not find an appropriate title, so just ignore the fourth wall moment as an easter egg}
George took a breath to continue.
"I condemn his actions for the risk of influencing younger, untrained, unprepared, and naive people on following his footsteps, it's hard to judge Batman since he is impeccable as of yet, but other people would commit lots of mistakes, Teenage crimes are already on the rise. We as Americans, would not want our sons and daughters to mask themselves to die deluding themselves that what they are doing is for the good of people, while they endanger themselves, their famil,ies and the community as a whole.
"I would like to address the Dark Knight as people call him, surrender to the police and we would see that no charges would be filed against you, with a lawful and talented man such as him the police would curb the anarchy from Hell's kitchen with ease."
Suddenly a crew member comes up to the reporter to whisper something in her ears, which makes her leave the commissioner with an apology, with her cameraman starting the TV van with haste.
Bruce turned off the Television as he sewed the cut on his arm, effectively applying first aid to himself as he got himself up to get ready for another day of work as the Wayne CEO.

[I find it offensive that the Eye of Agamotto is called the Timestone in many fanfics like it has a name and nobody, not even the sorcerer supreme just goes on and on to advertise the Time stone. The eye, maybe as was their duty to keep it safe. But calling it time stone before any MC is just straight-up foolish.
Also, they don't give a major role to Strange, instead go on and on with their meeting about how they become proficient in portals, become masters of the sanctum, and drink tea with the ancient one, I mean what is this? Yao is not something all bees and flowers, she literally was shaping the future on her whim to get the best successor, she chose the timeline for herself so that she could get Dr. Strange instead of millions of other possibilities.
We will be making it practical and showing her ups and downs with the OC plot
