Chapter 1Chapter I - An Average Joe

Marcus was your average run-of-the-mill young man who had recently graduated from university. Excelling in nothing and being utterly underwhelming in every subject, he had just barely passed the minimum marks required to graduate. His mother and younger sister were excited beyond jubilation during the ceremony, while his father did everything not to reveal the shame he held for his slacker son.

To say that Marcus was anything beyond average was an understatement, average height, build, looks… if it weren't for his near-eidetic memory, his intelligence would most definitely be average. His only interest was video games, but even then, he was never skilled enough to join the professional circuit or outgoing enough to make it as a streamer.

***

Months had passed following his graduation ceremony, and as he was taking the long scenic route home following yet another unsuccessful job interview. Cursing in his mind, his hands clenched tightly into a fist in the pockets of his slacks, his mind wandered to the past few months since graduation.

The month had just started days ago, and he had already failed three times to land a job… twelve the month prior and fifteen the month before.

Sighing inwardly, his head sunk into his chest.

"Father is going to kill me..." He thought as he stood at the crosswalk, his eyes fixated on the glowing red palm indicating to wait. The lights flashed and the white 'person' indicating it was safe to cross appeared.

His mind was deep in thought, trying to find the excuse he could deliver to his father but couldn't find the answers he needed to stay his wrath.

His father was a corporate mogul who had lost everything due to a takeover, and their idyllic lifestyle was lost. With his paltry buyout, his father opened a factory. Still, due to his reputation as a failed CEO, it never grew to the heights he was accustomed to and remained a small business that mainly dealt with other small businesses.

This had caused strife in the family, as his hopes for his son to bring their prestige back were met with failure after failure, but Marcus was never an ambitious person. He simply coasted through life with a silver spoon before, and he could never break out of that stigma after the downfall.

The heat from the summer day was giving way to the fantastic night as he walked through the massive city. His mind wandered as he strolled down the cramped bustling sidewalk.

The city never truly slept as those running from their offices returning home to their families seceded to the youth leaving their homes to enjoy the nightlife.

Marcus had the time to waste his life away with them, but by no means. To be honest with himself, he didn't really care to spend his time in the numerous bars and nightclubs drinking away his youth and chasing after women he never had a chance with.

After taking far too long to get back home, Marcus avoided all contact with his family and went straight to his room.

The small apartment was just barely able to house the four members, with a makeshift room being set up for him. The small space Marcus generously called his room didn't even have any available floor space, as his bed and desk took up the entire area.

He took his coat off and tossed it on his bed, and loosened his tie. He couldn't even dream about making space for a chair as he sat at the end of his bed and booted up his computer.

As the computer sprung to life, he had to resist the urge to immediately open his favorite MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) and forced himself to complete his due diligence.

He booted up his browser and went through the dozen different job recruitment sites and applied to every single one he felt qualified for; this was becoming even more difficult as time passed as the constant rejections were beginning to affect his confidence.

Next, he went into his email and began combing through all the rejection notices when he saw an email he didn't recognize. The subject read:

'Tired of Your Everyday Life?'

The subject was intriguing, and he almost clicked on it, but he knew better than to open suspicious emails, so it went immediately into the trash.

Afterward, he booted up World of Elders: Fantasy Wars (The World), a game that had dominated the MMO scene following the immersion dive craze. Immersion Dive technology had become the next best thing after the nightmare that was Virtual Reality.

Hailing as the evolution of technology, Immersion Dive took the next step doing away with all the risks of physical injury and psychological delusions that were running rampant that came from using Virtual Reality when he was a young child. Released shortly before his father's company went under, he was instantly addicted; however, after losing everything, he had to sell his Dive Pod to help with their finances and had to settle for the much less impressive sync rate of the Dive Visor.

The difference was night and day; it was akin to comparing 160p to 4K; it just didn't compare. In addition, the Dive Visor could only be used while in a sedentary sitting position, while the Dive Pod could be used in place of sleep and allowed the user to dive for up to two weeks without the need for food or water. It was akin to being placed in cryogenic hibernation.

The drawbacks of going longer than two weeks were too risky, and the company created a failsafe mechanism that automatically booted the user, as the manufacturers couldn't afford the backlash following the testing phase.

Marcus couldn't do anything about this, however, as the pods were astronomically more expensive than the visor. This didn't bother him as he was never able to become a celebrity gamer, and so the quality was only seen, heard, tasted, felt, and smelled by him, so he just enjoyed the game as best he could.

Logging into the only character he had played since its launch ten years ago, AverageJoe, a monstrous level 999 Knight, he was met with the worst news announcement he could have imagined;

"Welcome to the final days of The World!"

Check out my other book as well Lunar:Secret Guardians ******************* "Grey, elemental affinity, zero" The Elder announced the result loudly On hearing this, it was like a bolt of lightning struck Grey, he stood there dumbfounded and just stared at the Elder. Shocked voices could be heard from the people and there was some which were also filled with scorn. Grey stood dazed amidst all the noises without any reactions. One word was constantly reverberating in his head, 'How?'. 'Why, why did this happen to me?' Grey asked himself over and over again **************** Unbeknownst to Grey, something greater lies in wait in his body.... *************** Check out the book, leave a review after reading, and also your powerstones. Hope you enjoy this, and Thanks for reading ^_^ P.S: When I started this book I had zero writing experience, so the first chapters aren't that great, although, my writing quality has improved over time. Also, English isn't my first language, so there are some instances where my choice of words are not good enough for what I'm trying to portray. A heads up, the book will be using a medieval setting. My world building is not the best, but it gets better over time, so bear with me on the early chapters! P.S: Cover art not mine I just edited it. If you're the owner and want me to take it down you can notify me. Other novel: Lunar:Secret Guardians Check it out as well! Discord Server: https://discord.gg/gs68a4ZzaN

The Witch Hunter System

Dual cultivation isn't a choice; it's a necessity. After being struck by a truck like most lucky protagonists (or unlucky ones), Vaan found himself transmigrated into the body of an orphan in the world of witches and demons. However, they didn't always exist. Demons terrorized the world ever since the Gehenna Realm descended over 300 years ago. but along with them, came mana, giving birth to witches to combat these demons. Since then, the world of men was dominated by witches, establishing the seven witch kingdoms, which safeguards at the forefront of the demon invasion. In order to survive in the matriarchal society of the witch kingdoms, Vaan, like all other men who cannot use magic, had to learn how to service the witches to survive. Nevertheless, it did not come without its own benefits. Years of research have led the world to the discovery of intimacy between men and women could increase the witches' mana absorption. But at the same time, men could absorb some of this mana to improve their physique and lifespan. Thus, since then, an intricate relationship was formed between men and witches in the red-light districts. Love became casual, and dual cultivation is common. As a prodigy in the art of pleasing women, Vaan lived a smooth two years since his transmigration as an orphan. However, everything came crashing down in a heartbeat one day when his life was nearly taken, and Lady Eniwse whom he served went berserk. Even so, that was not the end. With the awakening of the Witch Hunter System, watch how Vaan takes on the world and becomes the lord of witches. ===== Genre: [Mature Content] [R-18] [Smut] [Magic] [Witches] [Demons] [Spirits] [Dragons] [Beasts] [Reincarnation] [Adventure] [Action] [Mystery] [Academy] [Weak-to-Strong] [Scheming MC] [Harem] [System] [Servants] [Slaves] [Smart MC] [Alchemy] [Forging] [Misunderstandings] [Game Elements] [Kingdom-Building] [Overpowered MC] ===== Note: Contains lemons. Level 1 to Infinity: My Bloodline Is the Ultimate Cheat!

They shattered his life. Now, he’ll break the world. Ethan had it all, until his best friend and the woman he loved betrayed him, leaving him crippled and forgotten. Three years of suffering later, he clawed his way to one final, desperate act… and the universe answered. A hidden quest. A second chance. A return to the moment everything began. Now, Ethan is back, on the eve of Ethereal’s launch, the world’s first fully immersive VR game and the battlefield where legends are forged. Last time, he played fair. This time? He’s armed with years of knowledge: every exploit, every secret quest, every broken mechanic that will let him climb straight to the top. But when he logs in, something is off. The system forces him into an unwanted class—Druid, the game’s biggest joke. The kind of class people pick as a dare and regret immediately. Yet as Ethan digs deeper, the truth shakes him. [Congratulations! You have unlocked the Divine Bloodline: King of Elves!] Ethan stared at the screen, unblinking. “…The hell?” The Druid class was a jack-of-all-trades, master of none—a scattered mess of abilities that mimicked other classes but never truly excelled. Their bear form lacked the raw defense of a proper tank. Their panther form was weaker than a rogue. Their healing fell short of a priest, and their magic couldn’t compare to a mage’s devastating spells. Most players abandoned the class early, realizing they could never compete at the highest level. And yet, Ethan’s stats are off the charts. His talents are absurd. His potential is beyond anything he’s ever seen. The system has given him something no other Druid ever had—a divine bloodline, legendary abilities, and a growth rate that defies logic. If Druids were meant to be weak, then Ethan was the exception that would rewrite history. He’s not just here to reclaim his throne. He’s here to take everything. Factions will rise. Empires will fall. The strongest will thrive, and the weak will perish. And the ones who betrayed him? They won’t live to do it again.

Shameless Author Review here: I have enjoyed a lot of similar genre stories on this platform and with my background I felt the urge to put my own work out there. I am dedicated to putting out flawless chapters and if you locate any grammatical or spelling errors, please point them out and they will be immediately fixed. I am consistently working on creating a nice balance between chapter updates and will committedly release chapters on the daily. I wish I had put more work into the first chapters and published more than 1,000 words each chapter, I may go back and up their word count without adjusting the actual flow of the chapter. I maintained a minimum of 1k words per chapter up until chapter 30 at which point I raised it to 1500 and will not go below that. The story will continually be developed and follows Marcus and his adventures through a game that has much more going on behind the scenes than he had initially thought. The risks will constantly be increased as the story progresses and the novel becomes more fleshed out. I absolutely love creating characters and having them fill roles within the story. The cast shall be expansive and constantly growing and decreasing. I aim to have no two characters alike and want to have a nice variety in the main and supporting cast. I love adjectives and really enjoy growing the world around our cast and hope that shows through my work. I love world building and generating the setting that our characters are in. I really hope you guys enjoy the story and take the time to like, vote, and comment, I read every comment and am more than happy to reply to your questions. Feel free to join the discord to see more behind the scenes information and connect with fans.

*Writing Quality: Excellent, not too complicated to hush you away, not too simple to make you believe it's mediocre, it draws you in and tells the story without much effort, great grammar. *Stability of Updates: As a new novel it is still not following any rigorous schedule. *Story Development: I only read the first chapters until the story began, and it was described and written well enough to allow me to relate with the MC, the parents, the friend and his situation as to why he would enter the game at all, however, perhaps because I haven't dwelled further it's difficult for me to understand what makes the game special, he received a message saying if he was bored of his life, but what does the game offer? and why would he encounter it in a private message rather than a poster in the streets, the game isn't public? etc.. etc... it lacks a point of inflexion that would attract readers in my opinion. Like that small thing that makes your novel unique, this, however, doesn't mean it's mediocre, this point of inflexion could appear in the future. *Character Design: So far I have seen MC some of the in-game characters, even interaction between NPCs and they're loyal to one another. *World Background: The entire premise envelops the game and I haven't delved further into the game to accurately judge whether it is deep enough or lacking, but I'm truly unable to understand what makes the game especial, supposing it allows you to get money in the real world, is that really it? Overall in my personal opinion, find myself with confused emotions regarding this novel, for one the structure is solid, grammar is perfect, description of events happens fluently, the in-game elements or representation of the UI in words is also properly laid on, but the premise is weak, it lacks a deterministic point which will attract readers to stick with it rather than keep scrolling. The cover also needs some improvements, overall I give it a high score because unlike most novels in this site, this is the total opposite, some of them have interesting premises but due to lack of skill they're destroyed either by bad grammar or a world that's not properly structured, etc... In this case, the world is properly structured, the grammar is perfect, but the world itself is weak and doesn't lead to anything that would attract (at least me) to read further because I can envision MC perhaps completing some quests and getting strong, beating a boss and obtaining loot, gaining money in real life, perhaps that's not how you want it to be, and instead plan something bigger for him, but that's how I perceived it with several short chapters and you need to portray that as well for them before the reader departs. Best Regards!
