I kind of died while over working myself as an editor and type setter for the english translations of Dragonball Super.
I am a huge dragonball fan. So huge I actually won a trivia contest for it and got hired by their department as an editor as my prize.
It wasn't quite what I thought, but hey. I'll roll with it.
At first nothing was wrong. I got my paycheck I got my hours. Nothing was bad.
Until one day when we reached the deciding Moro arc which would push Goku and Vegeta further than ever. To see the exciting climax and push out the chapters to meet the fans demands.
I maaaaay have overworked myself for a week straight with little to no food... And little to no rest.
Like I said. Huge fan.
But of course right after the climax of the fight and the defeat of Moro. I fell into a coma and apparently died from over work and malnutrition.
The more you know I suppose.
But I found my soul being sent into a multiverse of worlds. I was flying through and a voice told me, "Pick a world you love and you shall reincarnate as one of your favorite characters."
I didn't need to think twice and I decided to go with the one I was a huge fan of.
That's right! One Punch Man... NAH!
I flew into Dragonball right away and began to pick what time I would come back into and what character I should come back as.
It was tough.
I could have easily picked Goku or Vegeta... But those were obvious picks.
Raditz? Hmmm nah I wanted to avoid a saiyan route like many fanfictions I had read in my previous life.
Yamcha? Tempting but someone already did a manga that was short and sweet about his possible rise to power... Not my cup of tea.
Tenshihan and Chaotzu were both out. I'm not the biggest fan of either. They are alright but not my choice as characters for a second life.
Master Roshi, big nope. Not a fan of the old man bod and I definitely want a wife in this second life.
Piccolo was another, but once more I wanted a wife and family. And I'm not the biggest fan of reproducing through barfing up eggs. No thank you.
So sue me I was a simple man with simple needs.
I thought to frieza and maybe just avoid the evil hostile take over of the galaxy... But then I thought, 'Where would the series be then?'
So I looked back to earths defenders and realized I overlooked a fan favorite who was my go to for the dragonball tenkaichi games!
Krillin! A classic who has many fanfictions about him. But not many where people take over him and become his second soul.
I figured with the ideas I had from all those readings and all those times I helped edit the manga that I had a good chance to make something of myself as Krillin.
So I picked him and was sucked up into his body.
The time line area I chose?
Right after the Piccolo jr arc.
Don't get me wrong, I love that arc. And the previous arcs as well.
But maybe not the best place to begin given how I die quite early in those final two arcs. Or rather Krillin did... So I would just be avoiding a second... Third? Eh. Another death.
Let's face facts. Dying sucks even with reviving items like the dragon balls to help.
So I went into Krillins body as he rested at Kame House and my new life began as Krillin. The best friend to Goku and the new man who is in his body.
.... Okay saying that out loud I might have come off as sort of creepy. Oh well!
But I was just excited as I gained a good cheat ability for my reincarnation into this world! I could sense and accurately calculate power levels! Without a scouter! And as I train in this world my sensory power would let me know how fast I would gain the next point and what I could do to speed it up.
Like the ultimate training buddy! It couldn't tell me exactly what to do to get a more efficient training method going. But the hints it gives will definitely help me in the long run!
I was going to love it here thanks to this handy little power!
I'm ready for my adventure in this world to begin!
