Shizune is the young child, and leaving the village with such a glaring weakness is suicide since she would very likely be vulnerable to an attack, either due to Shizune being used as a hostage or due to her hemophobia. Normally she’d have the strength that Shizune isn’t a concern, but her hemophobia would change that

Just before Orochimaru launched the Konoha crush, Konoha made a move against Kumo so that they wouldn’t be tempted to act against Konoha after they’re weakened post-Orochimaru’s attack. They subdued some Kumo spies and sent information to Kumo that Fujin was leaving the village on a mission, so Ay took the bait and left the village with Bee to hunt Fujin down. Kumo realized that it might be a trap and increased their village defenses since Ay and Bee weren’t present. However, the trap was neither set for Ay nor for Kumo, but for the ten bases Kumo had set up in the land of lightning. Fujin destroyed six of the ten bases with his wind domain technique, leaving no survivors and not even any dead bodies. He then set a trap by mixing his seals into the seals surrounding the base. His trap seals were filled with explosive seals. Normally a fuinjutsu grandmaster would easily detect the trap, but Kumo’s grandmaster failed to see the trap because he assumed that he was sensing the normal defensive seals of the base. He didn’t realize that there were additional seals placed in the defensive formation due to how well Fujin mixed his own seals into the existing formation
