Guys why do you think Sakura and Ino were love rivals? It's bcz they didn't want to share Sasuke. I really dislike harems in fics where it's clear that girls don't want to be a part of them (in the context of the original story, otherwise it's a heavy au where the personality of peoples are changed). In Naruto we haven't seen even one poly relationship, everyone has a single wife. Idc if you add harem in fic with story like dxd, we already know that girls were written to not have any problem with harems, but the moment you try to force it on characters that never would accept it then we have a problem. That's why people call harems pokemon catch them all, it's like catching wild pokemon that don't like humans, they get beat up by said humans and then they're inside a pokeball and after some light talking to are happy to obey the trainer that basically enslaved them

It’s probably just me, but I don’t think it’s that serious I understand if it’s an original novel, but a fanfic where it’s going to be different at some point in the story, so it wouldn’t matter as long as the majority of readers enjoy it.

But you see, I have problem with harems only in fanfics. I don't have problem with the harem in original works like highschool dxd, characters were made by the author to be okay with 10 other girls being in love with the same perverted guy and that's it, I don't say that it's written well but I don't disslike the concept of harem. On the other side in Naruto there isn't even one girl that's gonna be okay with sharing her partner and here is where my complaints start with 'harem fanfics', authors make the harems without taking the original personality of girls into consideration and just add any girl that they like and when that happens most of the time it goes like this: MC: "You know, I will have many girls in my harem" Girl:"hmm... I don't care as long as I can be in a part of your heart I will be happy!" and that's basically it, there insn't even any interactions between two girls that would seem like a conflict, they will just automatically be cool with each other. There's no way for 4 different human beings will be okay with sharing the same guy. Sakura? no way, Ino? hell no! Hinata? Maybe if you emotionally manipulate her, TenTen? idk, she got too little screentime for me to form an opinion, anyway I think you get the gist of it, they take already made character with complex personalities and simply turn them into mindless sexdolls that have no plot relevance. If I had to compare harem fanfics authors to something it would be those guys on twitter 'fixing' someones art by making the character fat or different skin color, they don't care about the original and simply 'fix it' so that it suits only theirs taste.

So I see your point, but would you be fine if the author would go though tens to maybe hundreds of chapter just to get let’s says as in example Ino and Sakura or similar characters who wouldn’t accept being in a harem. The author doing his best to make it seemed sensible whether by intervenening before certain events or even when said character was younger. I’m not talking about Ino nor Sakura, just in general.

Yeah I agree with that only for me I just never really cared anymore about the quality of fanfics as long as I could understand it and enjoy it then I’m fine even if the fic started add girls over and over, but if some of girls were annoying or slowing the progress of the Mc or story then I start getting annoyed. Since for me the Mc should be the most important in the story, not side characters, especially if they don’t play any major role.

I will read it if it is finalized that it is non harem. if you want it to be harem remove the romance tag and change it to smut. a single romance is hard as it is and to make it multiple romance thats just sacrificing the quality and potential of your fic
