"This ain't gonna be good." Ivan's whips turn on with a dazzling blue light.
Batman lands among the fighters, away from the middle battleground- slowly descending with the held of his grapple gun.
"You are late Bat-guy we got this- Where were you anyway?" Tony asks in a familiar manner- removing his one time use laser weapons.
"I was busy." Ivan lands leading his drone army- his armor upgraded from the last time.
"I got something special for this guy. I'm gonna bust his bunker with the Ex-Wife." Rhodey aims his hand arm towards Ivan's suit, a small, pen shaped missile comes out to take aim.
"With the what?' Rhodey shoots his ex-wife, it bounces off Ivan, like a slut, not taking loyalty seriously to any of the guys.
"Hammer tech?"
"Yeah." He nods with a half-expected expression.
"I got this." Tony Targets points on Ivan's armor. It follows its disappointing act similar to Rhode's ex-Wife, not doing much damage to the receipt.
Ivan whips the ground and his surroundings, anything coming in contact being cut into two while being set ablaze.
"Rhodes. I got an idea. You want to be a hero? Put your hand up."
"This is your idea?"
"Yep."
"I'm ready. I'm ready. Go, go, go!"
"Take it!" Same as at the house party, they shoot at each other and the middle explodes. Unfortunately for Ivan, he is in the middle.
Ivan dies with his last words threatening- "You lose". The makeshift ark Reactor starts flashing red- more red. So do all the drones.
"All these drones are rigged to blow. We gotta get out of here man." Rhodey shouts in concern wile shooting as his suit rises.
"Pepper?" He takes off- knowing the only way he would lose is by losing his dearest in life- truth to Vanko's word- Pepper was by a drone. The red flashing light beeping hastens.
Tony goes full speed down to pick her up- grabbing him with speed but not too much to hurt her. He grabs her just as it explodes- or it should have- instead it just dies off powered off on its own- so does the rest of them.
Tony remember his Batguy- saying he was busy 'So he was really busy' They land on a roof. Stark takes off his helmet to face her.

"I can't take this. My body, literally, cannot handle the stress. I never know if you're gonna kill yourself or wreak the whole company."
"I think I did okay." [Insert- I see this an absolute win meme] Everything being on fire having been covered graced by Viplash's whips and Iron man's repulsor blasts- in the hindsight was the FBI and S.H.I.E.L.D. taking care of the remains of the fight.
"I quit. I'm resigning. That's it."
"Hey hey hey- I understand-" Their sexual tense conversation goes on and on- ultimately leading to a kiss between them- and another- and anoth-
"You guys look like two seals fighting over a grape." Pepper takes back a step- surprised by Rhodey- almost scared of the scandal b/w the boss and the employee- of course she is the boss... or rather was.
"I had just quit, actually." "Yeah, so we're not…"
"You don't have to do that. I heard the whole thing."
"You should get lost."
"I was here first. Get a roof."
"Actually I was here first." Tony and Rhodey take aim- out of the darkness comes the Dark Knight.
He does not move- the tension rising.
"Stand down- I come in peace"
Tony retracts his aim- Rhodey follows- just a tad bit later but still on guard against an alien such as the infamous Batman. Especially military men and security agencies worldwide.
"So you dare come here- I have seen your work, admirable to say at least." Tony turns to Rhodes. "Told you he was friends with me."
Rhodes sighs- remembering the drunken nights he had spent with Tony after the whole Obadiah ordeal.
"Stark we have much to talk" Batman turns to his left- looking at the tech left by Vanko leaving in the hands of unwelcome parties. "But not now." The grappling gun sets off- sticking to somewhere close by. "I will come for you."
"Where and When Dracula?" Tony asks with a laid back face- Rhodey not so much hearing the news of his friend meeting an international fugitive.
Batman sets off as the grappling gun pulls him away. Rhodey looks to Tony who was confused in his own right.
"Where will you go to meet him?" Pepper asks Tony- standing to his side of his metallic arm.
"Well he did say he would be the one coming to you." Rhodey points. Tony shrugs it off as Rhodey leaves with the suit- as his car was smashed among the things damaged by his ex-Wife's late anger.

'The last few days have been enlightening.' Batman was sitting on his worktable- welding something- while his kryptonite shard was heating up.
He left the work halfway done- as it required to cool down before further enhancement to turn on the computer.
Files- taking equal space on the screen- with different titles and folder initials.
Unlike the late discovery of Wonder woman and flash- that too due courtesy of Lex trying to pit Superman and him against each other, Batman delved into the search of super-powered individuals early this time.
'The more super powered individuals- the more the foes of humanity.'- something Batman had witnessed first hand.
He had observed that the power of earthen individuals increase sharply when humanity has to face an ordeal.
There comes a saturation point- when the super-powered heroes as the public call them get powerful enough to fend off any power on the earth itself- thats when extraterrestrial powers come into play.
'As if it is always planned by someone.'
So he had to do it- he could not stand atop the conjecture that if the earthly superhumans' powers don't get saturated, there won't be any threat of an otherworldly invasion on earth.
In fact there were already proof of such happening in the past- and there was on happening in the present. Where Batman had to be.
The US govt had Intelligence-Driven Law Enforcement pay $30 million for information that could help them get to the Batman- for them nothing was dangerous than an extraterrestrial living being roaming around their country- that too for nearly two years now.

<On Air.> We demand the unconditional surrender of Batman for him to answer the questions- quench down all our doubts as to where his loyalties lie in our world. Anything he is a pro at what he does.

For those of you still asking why Steppenwolf-I ask what is stopping Batman from returning to his previous universe where all his friends and family are.
Half the reason is that he knows that world is in good hands- there is no more need for might- he knew it would all end after the end of Darkseid- he knew as he got this information after sitting on the mobius chair. The other half is because of Steppenwolf- he basically let loose a fanatical alien warlord upon this universe and that is because he was not good enough- so he accepted this world as a way of taking responsibilities due to the slip of plans, hi plans- thats the best explanation I could give.
I can choose Steppenwolf to play a small or a big role to play in the story- but realistically he is the only anchor stopping Bruce from going back to his world- Otherwise he has not reason to not even try to get back to his DC universe.
