Synopsis

Jay was merely an abandoned butcher’s son, living in a small village on the outskirts of a magical world. When humans came of age, they would receive their class from a mana conduit, granting them magic powers, and begin their lives as adventurers. “Status,” Thought Jay, checking his class. [Necromancer Level 1] “...I’m a Necromancer?” His eyes widened in shock. Looking around in fear, he breathed a sigh of relief. No one heard him. This was a monster class, and one of the more powerful monsters at that; a powerful being which raised the dead to fight on its behalf. If anyone knew, they would hunt Jay down and kill on sight. He was not just a threat to the authority of the nobles, but to all living things. “But am I a monster now? Or human? I guess it doesn’t matter. They’ll kill me all the same.” Jay had only one option: to get stronger, building his necrotic powers up so that he may one day become untouchable. Through plotting, secrecy, and sometimes by sheer carnage, he can only attempt to survive in this hostile world. Join Jay as he struggles against all odds and misfortune, against a world that wants him dead, as he secretly rises and bends this world to his will.

The Prophecy of Estuary

In the mystical realm of Ather, an island, Estuary; standing as the sole bastion of stability amidst a bottomless ocean that swallows islands whole, a sinister force known as the Umbral Hand seeks to plunge the land into chaos. By manipulating the island's divination magic, they concocted a twisted prophecy, foretelling the arrival of four "chosen heroes" destined to avert an impending war between the island's humanoids and giants. Unbeknownst to the unsuspecting adventurers—Thalia Swiftwind, Drog Stonecrusher, Seraphina Emberheart, and Alaric Stormcaller—these prophecies were carefully distorted to lead them into unwittingly advancing the Umbral Hand's nefarious agenda. As the party embarks on quests guided by the corrupted visions, Divided Guidance plays its part. The Umbral Hand orchestrates a series of seemingly benevolent missions that, in truth, deepen the rift between the factions. The adventurers, believing they are agents of peace, find themselves entangled in a web of deceit. The looming fear of Estuary's impermanence hangs ominously. The island itself is a testament to the transience of stability, surrounded by an ever-changing sea that devours islands without a trace. Yet, this unique characteristic of Estuary remains largely overlooked by the adventurers as they focus on their mission to avert war. In each adventure, the party encounters symbols of unity—hidden artifacts, shared resources, and revered heirlooms—seemingly critical to preserving peace. Little do they know that, by completing these quests, they inadvertently exacerbate tensions, providing the Umbral Hand with the chaos they crave. As the adventurers progress, the false prophecies drive them to unintended consequences, leading to a point of no return. The once-stable truce between giants and humanoids teeters on the edge of collapse, and the Umbral Hand watches with malevolent satisfaction as Edtuary inches closer to the brink of an all-encompassing war. Unaware of their role in this grand manipulation, the party remains determined to fulfill their perceived destiny, the impermanence of every other island itself, a stark reminder that even the most stable foundations can crumble in the face of orchestrated chaos. The stage is set, and the unwitting heroes dance upon the strings of the Umbral Hand, their true destiny veiled by the distorted shadows of a malevolent prophecy.

It is so great. it has long chapters, but those chapter go by in a flash, it makes sense, and you just have jun. A great story I feel as if you could say he is a professional

A great book in general. great grammar and storytelling. plus the main character isn't all that bad. he's intelligent but not a know it all, and he's got a consistent personality. it's a little rough in the beginning but once you get past chapter five you'll be hooked. a great read. just wish I could have more chapter. Aslo if the author wants I can help with avoiding tropes that make it boring. and using writing to your advantage. you've done a great job already. just don't want this to fall into mediocrity.

It’s a decent book however you start paying for the chapters before you can really decide if it’s worth your money, the cost per chapter is more than other books out there, and there are several chapters that may be kind of interesting but really are not pertinent to the over all story. I know writers on here are trying to make money and do not begrudge them that but sometimes it feels more like that’s all the book is about and not about writing a great story.

Good story. But, I’m not gonna start paying after chaoter 16. Didn’t even get to know if I would like the story at that point. Not worth it.

In terms of story quality it’s great very enjoyable, a unique take on necromancy however the paywall comes far too soon I am really enjoying reading but at this point I’m not hooked enough to want to pay tbh. I do appreciate the authors note so I understand you regret it and cannot change it but when it comes to my limited funds 17 chapters is sadly not enough to make me want to invest.

Everyone who reads past the paywall gives a 5 star and begs for more chapters, everyone who doesn't gives a low rating. The duality is kinda funny. Author made an accident setting paywall early because they're a novice, but the book is excellent, and they have started giving out two free chapters per month because of all the hate. The book deserves a 4.9 star rating because of the story itself.

It's pretty good for someone who likes a necromancer to be a hero but it's not my cup of tea Mc seems to be too good for his own good he doesn't even asks a question following the commands without a thought And I read more then 50 chapters and now I can say it was waste of time and money Not for me

Early paywall, plain story, not worth the money. Protagonist basically OP despite having a mage class and things kinda just fall into his lap. If I wanted this quality I'd go to a free site.

Why does it say completed? Did the author drop? There is no way this should be done with how far the story is. This is sad.

Love the concept and dont see neceomancer books to much so in glad someones doing it right. The Mc isnt some Bumbling hero idiot but he’s not evil(yet?). Like The speed the storys progressing and hopfully we can see some cool summons in the furture. This is my first review so obviously not as dEscriptive as some may like but as long as the author keeps a good pace up for the chapters this could become one of my favorites.

one of the reasons that MVS kept its popularity was and is its daily and mass release chapters. I hope you don't forget it, Author. Keep up the excellentwork.[img=update]

Wait bro how is the story ending already? had so much potential like it literally just started?. I havent read like the latest 20 chapters, but no shot this story should be ending already. Unfortunate, but oh well.

The novel has a interesting world that has some mystery to it. I like the main character and his growth along with the way he is building up his class as I look forward to how he grows. Characters in the world feel alive and someone I thought was a generic character(noble) became something more. I like how it balances the focus on the Mc and gives little glimpses on what is happening around like with the young noble, the merchant ect. Mentioned before on how locked chapters happen early but doesn’t take away that I like the novel. I only wish for more chapters. Keep up the good work I am sure if the chapters keep releasing it will gain more popularity as time goes on.
