'Did I just get ratted out?' Kenji thought to himself in disbelief as he glanced at Momo out of the corner of his eye, 'First Ashido and now her, did Lucifer change their personalities or something?' 

"I see," Aizawa replied dully as he looked from Momo to Kenji, "Is this true?" 

Startled at suddenly being the focus of everyone's attention Kenji could only nod his head dumbly, "Um that's what Ms. Shuzenji said." 

Aizawa shrugged as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small metal cylinder before tossing it at Kenji, "I guess you earned this then." 

Thankfully Kenji managed to catch the thrown item without embarrassing himself, which was impressive given the metallic cylinder was about the size of a pill and cold to the touch.

"For those of you who don't know, Kenji is currently holding an Alpha Capsule which as the name implies contains Alpha Particles." Aizawa explained in a dry tone as everyone stared at the metallic pill in Kenji's palm, "At the end of the month each of you will receive one as part of your allowance, but as Kenji has demonstrated you can earn them with exceptional performance. Though Capsules will only get you so far, their effectiveness wears off the more you take without managing to evolve. So I suggest you wait until you reach a bottleneck to take one." 

As he stared at the Capsule Kenji felt a presence stir in the back of his mind, along with a familiar hunger, 'Dammit did you not just hear him, also we had a deal remember? No eldritch horrors in public!'

[You are not like the others, your quirk derives strength from our connection and your bond with the abyss. Only by strengthening your connection to the abyss will you evolve. Any alpha particles you consume will be utilized by me, to increase the abyss that you can summon in the physical realm] 

'So you're telling me every time I want to evolve I'm gonna start bleeding out of every orifice?' Kenji asked waspishly. 

[What you did was the equivalent of trying to learn how a gun works by sticking your face in the barrel and pulling the trigger.] 

'So what the hell am I supposed to do,' Kenji responded angrily

[That is up for you to discover] 

Before Kenji could reply the presence withdrew from his mind, leaving him alone and clueless, 'I need to figure out how to install a mental lock to my mind.'

Tuning back into his surroundings Kenji pocketed the Capsule as he wondered if had missed anything important when the ground started to vibrate with a powerful tremor that sent dust raining down from the ceiling. Instead of dying down however the tremor only intensified and Kenji had to grab onto his desk in order to not get thrown from his seat. 

"Everyone get under your desks and whatever you do don't-" Aizawa's warning was cut off by a deafening boom as the classroom floor collapsed in on itself. In the next instant a myriad of screams and shouts echoed through the air as the earth swallowed Class 1-A whole. '

Kenji couldn't help himself from screaming as he plummeted through the earth. It had all happened too fast, one moment he was dozing off in class and the next a sinkhole opened up beneath him. 

After a moment when the initial shock of the moment faded Kenji somehow managed to gather his thoughts and start thinking coherently. Holding out his arms and legs Kenji oriented himself and slowed his descent somewhat, which proved to be the wrong choice as Kenji felt a shadow fall over him. 

Spinning around, Kenji looked up to see a massive chunk of stone and dirt plummet through the air only a few seconds away from splattering him like a bug against a windshield. 

Kenji's heart pounded as his body dumped pure adrenaline through his veins making his mind race a mile a minute. In the sheer darkness of the sinkhole Kenji's fractured eyes lit up like a beacon bathing everything around him in a dark purple light. 

Staring down the boulder ready to crush him into paste Kenji tried to think of a solution when he caught sight of a much larger chunk of stone trailing behind the boulder. All of a sudden an idea hit Kenji like a truck and without giving much thought to it he thrust out his hand and poured every last fiber of his will into the wild attempt. 

From the empty space in between the two boulders a rift appeared and from it a clawing mass of tendrils spawned that latched onto the two lumps of stone in the blink of an eye. 

Feeling the strain through his bond with the abyss Kenji roared in determination as he squeezed his opened hand shut. With a thunderous boom, the two lumps of debris were yanked together with enough force to shatter them into countless pieces none large enough to pose Kenji a threat. 

But the impressive feat left Kenji panting and he barely had the strength to flip back around only to see that he was about to reach the bottom. Gritting his teeth Kenji reached into pocket and pulled out the Alpha Capsule, 'Here's your snack, now hurry up and eat it!'

A dark voice chuckled in Kenji's mind as a rift opened across his palm and a small tentacle retrieved the pill before closing without a trace. 

A second later Kenji felt a soothing wave ripple through his body and his monetary exhaustion was replaced by an exhilarating rush. And not a moment too soon. 

With the ground fast approaching Kenji only had a split second to act, pulling on the abyss Kenji felt a seemingly unending tsunami pour out of him. Spreading across his body Kenji felt not only his arms being covered in armor but his legs and torso as well. 

Hoping it was enough Kenji squeezed his eyes shut as the ground rushed up to meet him.
