USA, UNDERGROUND FACILITY #01

Kade Mercer, a former member of a special force and now the head scientist focuses on researching anomalies from outside of the planet Earth, today was supposed to be a normal day, studying weird stuff and reporting to the big man.

His subordinate is walking him through a contained room guarded by heavily armed individuals.

"Sir, they have found an anomaly in Mexico suspected to be a life form, but where it is from is unknown," the assistant trying to brief him on the situation with the iPad in his hand swiping and showing Kade the data they have collected.

"What tests have been done to the anomaly and when was it collected?" asked Kade as per company procedure, they had reached their destination and there in the middle of the room, was a box made of fibreglass and inside contained what seemed to be slime, black slime to be exact.

"Anomaly number 08 was collected 2 days ago, as for the test extreme heat and cold exposure has been done and the subject has no reaction to both elements, we've also put mice to see what it would do if it made contact with a live sample, surprisingly it consumed the mice leaving no trace behind not even the teeth, after consuming various live samples we provided it went dormant approximately 16 hours and 57 minutes ago," the assistant said while entering new data into the Ipad, while Kade and his subordinate was talking, the anomaly suddenly made some movements, it seems to want to get out of the transparent box while attempting to jump to Kade's direction.

Seeing this, Kade went closer to get a closer look at what it was trying to do, as Kade got closer and closer the black slime was getting more excited as if it couldn't wait to pounce on a new meal, suddenly a peacock mantis shrimp limb came out of the black slime and punch the fibreglass box making a crack to the transparent box.

Seeing this Kade immediately had some suspicion and asked his assistant

"What have you fed to this little guy?"

"First was a mouse, then a bat followed by leafcutter ant, bat, funnel web spider, blue ring octopus, box jellyfish, inland taipan, peacock mantis shrimp and lastly a turtle to see if it can also absorb the turtle's shell, which it can do easily"

Hearing this Kade's suspicion turns into confirmation, that this guy consumes living beings and gains their abilities as well as physical properties, while Kade is busy thinking and making assumptions the transparent box containing the black slime explodes making the alarm go off and setting the creature free.

Kade and his assistant attempted to exit the room but as they were running towards the exit, Kade looked back and saw the black slime spit what seemed to be an acidic liquid towards his assistant and landed on his nape which immediately melted his whole neck area decapitating his head.

Seeing this Kade was not stunned or scared, he was instead ecstatic as the anomaly could expand his knowledge tremendously, but while he was busy thinking of so many things, the black slime jumped and landed on his head and entered his ear and nostril with an unnatural speed, Kade fell down from the pain and weird sensation like his brain was getting eaten from the inside.

Kade's whole body was getting consumed by the black slime that seemed to be way bigger than what it was a few seconds ago, while this was happening the heavily armed guards locked down the area not caring what happened to the people inside as this was also the company procedures, but unknowingly the anomaly that they're trying to contain has already vanished from the room and it seems to just disappear.

In a dark alley somewhere in the city, a body materialised out of the ground while a black slimy substance surrounds the body also disappearing as quickly and entering back into the man's body

"Ughh, Jesus Christ felt like I just got hit by a truck," Kade groggily said as he tried to stand up but failed while stumbling on his own two feet, a surge of new memories forcefully dug itself into his brain as if it was his own.

With the new memories in his brain, Kade is sure that it was that black slime's memories, about how it was born and where it is from as well as all of its memories including its last struggle as it tried to consume him, but somehow Kade's body resisted and consumed the black slime instead, it tried to fight back and resist but is all futile as Kade's body sucked all of it fusing it with his body, getting all of its abilities, which for Kade was shocking.

All abilities include but are not limited to Superhuman durability, superhuman strength, Superhuman speed, enhanced senses, consuming living things to gain their memories and everything that body contains, and the ability to breathe outer space, there's more but every time he tries to remember it his thoughts get blocked by some unknown force, which made Kade uncomfortable.

As Kade's getting used to his newfound abilities, he finally has a chance to look at his surroundings which isn't much as he seems to be in some kind of alleyway

"Now where is this place, this wasn't the place where I passed out unless one of the anomalies decided to fucked with me and chucked me into a different dimension," Kade said jokingly, not knowing that he wasn't far from the truth, not only is he in a different dimension, he's completely in a different universe.

Kade walked outside of the alleyway and what greeted him was a quiet dark neighbourhood, but what was weird was that in the middle of the road, the space started to crack and a blueish-like portal opened up in the middle of the road

"Now I've seen a lot of anomalies, but nothing like this, it seems to be a portal of some sort or something, I wonder what's on the other side" As he was talking he made his way into the portal and started to inspect it as much as he can while he keeps a safe distance

"Same gravitational force, no change in the surroundings and temperature and most importantly that psycho old man isn't coming out, so what is this and why hasn't the Containment Specialist arrived yet, they're usually pretty early"
