Chapter 1Chapter 1: Where the Legend Begin [Edited]

Editor: BT

At the ninja academy of Konoha.

In the back row of the classroom, Akabane was engrossed by his drawing.

He drew lines and words on the back of his textbook.

After a while, he finally finished.

It was a short panel of comics that he drew, he felt satisfied.

"Hey, Akabane-kun! Let me see your drawing! Let me see it!" said the white-haired classmate of his excitedly.

"Don't bother him, let him be." as another of his classmates intervened.

"Oooi Akabane, are you listening!" The white-haired boy shouted at him again.

Akabane gave no response.

"Stop it, I said! if you disturb him again, I will beat you to the pulp Jiraiya!" His classmate shouted back at the top of his lungs

As Jiraiya finished speaking, several boys around them quickly made a fuss.

Unexpectedly, that white-haired boy was punched hard by a girl, thus returning silence to the back of the class.

After some time, the first lesson came to an end.

Akabane coughed a few times before giving his half-done comic panel to the white-haired boy as he said, "Here take a look, I'm going to take a nap now."

Suddenly, Akabane coughed violently again.

"Akabane, your body is pretty weak. You need to rest more so that you're able to draw better in the future." Said Jiraiya.

As Akabane reached out to take back the sketch from Jiraiya, someone else snatched it from the white-haired boy. That someone is the class bully.

"Hahaha, this drawing is stupid…" The bully said.

The class erupted in laughter at the snide remark.

Akabane leaned his back against the wall as he tried to catch his breath.

In front of him, a translucent panel emerged.

——————

"After working so hard to finish one chapter, I only got such a small amount of points."

Half a month ago, he graduated from the University of Arts & Design in the 21st century. He dreamed of becoming a famous illustrator but was suddenly transmigrated into the Naruto world. (Sorry Truck-kun, not this time :3).

Trapped in a child's body.

The system was activated as he was drawing comics and he gained points by letting people read them.

It's already been half a month, yet he only managed to save 27 points.

Akabane couldn't help but be pessimistic about his situation.

There is no way he could actualize his dreams here, trapped in a child's body. Comic? He would be lucky to find a scroll with pictures. He had his work cut out for him before comics reached the level of his original world here.

Fortunately, he arrived after the first Ninja War. From what he could remember from Naruto, there was a short, but peaceful period that followed after the war. But long enough for Akabane to develop his skills at ease.

But…

That being said, with such a weak physique as his, he couldn't help but complain about his clan.

The main trait of the Kurama Clan is their potent chakra. But it came at the cost of their physique.

While he did indeed possess a slightly above-average chakra, that was outweighed by his abysmal physical attributes.

To put it simply, he was just like superman without his superpowers.

Fortunately, with some points, he can use the system's ability to awaken Five Senses Control.

Five Senses Control: The blood inheritance limit of the Kurama clan requires 30 points to be awakened.

Because of the cost of awakening Five Senses Control, he had been reluctant to spend points up until now.

"Hey, there is new ninjutsu on the exchange list…"

He just opened the list and immediately found that there were many types of ninjutsu that he did not have before.

[Transformation Jutsu: D-level ninjutsu requires 5 points.] [Clone Jutsu: D-level ninjutsu requires 5 points.] [Substitution Jutsu: D-level ninjutsu, requires 5 points] [Harem no Jutsu: Modified from the Transformation Jutsu and requires 5 points.] [Shadow Clone Jutsu: Level B ninjutsu requires 100 points.]

"If I remember correctly, this jutsu seemed to have appeared in the first chapter of Naruto… could it be that the ninjutsu appearing in my system is the same one?"

Yes!

Akabane just finished his first chapter of Naruto. He likes Naruto to the point he can roughly recreate it from memory.

For an art student like him, imitating manga is easy.

At first, he just wanted to try to see if his drawing could activate the Five Senses Control of the Kurama clan, but he accidentally awakened the system.

For him, the system is no different than offering help when he needs it the most, but the question is, why is he drawing Naruto?

I am in the Naruto world! What other reason is needed!

Fortunately, most characters in the early days of the comic are far from being born. No one would think that the manga would tell the future.

Everyone thinks it's just a story made by a child.

"Akabane, your story is so amazing."

"Hahaha, Naruto is so funny, who is that?"

"Is this the future?"

That's right, in everyone's eyes, these are nothing but fantasy in Akabane's head.

Including his teacher Arata Sarutobi…

"Akabane, I do appreciate your passion for the arts, but pay more attention in class!"

As soon as the teacher entered the class, those boys ran away to their chairs.

He has scolded his student since the beginning of the year… Well, he only started scolding Akabane recently.

"I understand sensei, I will pay more attention." Akabane smiled awkwardly.

"Well, it's almost time for class. Give me your drawing, I'll return it to you after school."

With that said, Arata-sensei took away Akabane's comic.

"But sensei, I was just about to see it."

The girl who was just handed the comic pouted, her eyes were watery, almost on the verge of crying.

The girl has blond hair and red eyes and looks very cute, but her identity is scary.

It was the village's princess, Tsunade Senju.

"Tsunade, I only take it for a while, and I will give it to you after class."

Arata smiled, as he took the sketch and returned to the podium, officially starting class. Curious, the teacher began reading the manga.

Akabane observed that his points had risen a bit.

But…

This is weird. Didn't I gain points slower than this before?

Not only that.

After a few minutes, he gained another 2 points.

After Arata finished reading the first chapter, Akabane's total points had reached 31 points.

Crunching the numbers, Akabane realized that he gets 5 points when Arata reads the first chapter.

'Does it mean the higher the ninja level, the more points it gives?' he thought.

Akabane stared at the panel, thinking.

I need to try it out after school…

The Kurama clan has not produced promising young blood for many years, but they have pretty strong members.

If my theory is correct, then how many points can I get by giving the comic to the whole family?

I'm a genius!

It's already time to start the class, but Arata didn't seem to realize it.

He was completely addicted to the comic, as he sat there enjoyingly, and then…

He turned to the first page again and began to look.

His students were trying to take a peek, especially Tsunade, which showed a full of envy with her cute little face.

Realizing half of the minute has passed since the schedule, Arata-sensei suddenly snapped out," Oh shoot! It's time to start the class!".

"Now, I could get my first skill. Should I exchange it now?"

Akabane hesitated.

After thinking about it for a moment, Akabane couldn't resist it, and exchanged it for "Five Sense Control"

[30 Point reduction.]

[The point exchange success!]

[Awakened The Five Sense Control.]

The system notified him of his exchange.

The story is good, but what infuriates me is the idiocy of the MC. He is an absolute retard, ignoring his safety for some quick strength. Why would he draw Naruto of all things? He didn't even try to draw anything else. The masses starved of entertainment would eat up any cliche story like it was a gold mine. In Naruto, after a couple dozen chapters of plot, there are already secrets that would get him killed. Yet he doesn't care. He doesn't care about how many relationships he will burn and how many issues would arise because of what he included in his comic. If a character, be it classmate or someone else, isn't included in the story, it is screaming to their face that they will be dead or irrelevant in the story. This wouldn't be an issue, if he didn't focus so much on the people that DO survive. And what I don't understand is how people react to the uchiha massacre??? Like it is already a political move on the agenda, so they wouldn't just stand calmly. And if he excluded it from the story, he would have changed the plot unrecognisably. I don't like how the author completely ignores this and just goes with it. Yes, it might be just some sketches of a child, but it has huge implications. Besides all that, he should have known better than to talk about sensitive subjects such as the Uchiha incident. This, along with flawed background logic is why I can only give WB 2 stars. About the characters. They are greatly flawed, there appears to be almost no change in the current personalities of the characters and when they go through war, loss, hardship, suffering, death and grief. You might say that they are childish but are still trained to act mature, but it still doesn't mean much. These are kids who have only experienced peace and prosperity and know nothing of the 'real' world. This is why CD also gets 2 stars. About the story. It is a bit better, but not deserving of 4 stars. I am only on chapter 21, so I can't say much, but from what I have seen, it is basic at most. There is nothing new, nothing exciting, only the same old group of perfect kids with superpowers. (Before you ask, I am aware that this is a translation, so most of the critique goes to the original author). Webnovel has a dumpsterfire of a rating system, so the end result came out as 3.2 stars.
