Chapter 17_ The dinner

Miss Gwon was at the market, she was standing before her fish vendor whom was packing what she had ordered while she waits patiently when Mrs. Pong, Her Tteokbokki customer approach her. She was passing by when she saw Miss Gwon and returned.

"Miss Gwon, oh, it really you, even if I'm miles away I'll still recognized you by your makeover." She jokingly teased. "Longest time, how've you been doing?" Mrs. Pong added.

"I'm good as always," Miss Gwon stated.

"I heard you had resumed the restaurant?"

"Ah, Yes." She excitedly answered. "I guess your daughter is back again because that the only reason you closed and opened. Oh! I heard she even came back with a man this time, that true right?"

"Yes" She answered still smiling, trying her possible best not to show her anger.

"So the rumor is actually true. What kind of daughter brings nothing but shame to her family all the time? I really feel pity for you Miss Gwon. Are you sure you have been okay because you've lost weight a lot and you look really stressed. Oh, my bad, you must really be stressed living with the headache of a daughter. In my opinion, I'll advise you disown the wretch before she sent you to hell."

"Mrs. Pong, I heard you're childless?" The fish vendor who was done packing it up and had been watching the scene suddenly fire at Mrs. Pong. She has endured and couldn't take her annoyance anymore and she decided to stand in for Miss Gwon whom stood embarrassment, the bright she always put on was no more.

"I beg your pardon." Mrs. Pong said.

"That's right, and your husband impregnated another woman because you couldn't conceive. Now I understand, a childless mother won't know the worth of a child even if that child becomes a nuisance." She stated and turned to Miss Gwon, she give and the packed which she shamelessly collected and left.

Bulgogi was served for dinner. They all set at the dinning cheating happily as then eat. Miss Gown was an exemption. She was picking on her food and was trouble. Her body was at the dinning but her mind wasn't present.

Min-Jun notice Miss Gown mood and signal Ae-cha. She looks at her mother and then looks at Ari and whisper to her, "What's wrong with Mom?" she shrugged. The returned he gazes back at her mom and asked in concern, "Miss Gown, What wrong?"

"Maybe you should stop coming to the shop." She replied at once. Her tone sounds unfriendly and her face expression wasn't an exemption.

"What?" Both Ari and Ae-cha yelled and Ae-cha went further and asked, "Why?"

"I've thought about it, it better if you get something doing and then you can find someone and get married."

She exhaled calmly when she heard the reason. "So this was all about the married thing."Ae-cha commented. "Miss Gown, helping you around the shop doesn't stop me from getting married. I'll get married when the time comes."

"And when is the right time?" Miss Gwon fired at her, "This is what you have kept telling me, I'll get married at the right time. You will be ageing twenty six by May sixteen this year and you are still very single running around calming looking for that bastard!"

"Mom!" Ari called

"Get back together with Nam-gil."

"What?" Ae-cha yelled surprisely. She wasn't expecting that from her mom and she spitted it out without a second thoughts. Miss Gwon went further,

"Just get married to him for good and stop causing me pains!" she roared. The dinning went cold immediately and unpleasant silent sealed up the dinning. Everybody face fell to the ground expect for Ae-cha who was glaring at her mom in watering eyes. She stands up and angrily left the table.

"Excuse me please." Min-Jun said and went after Ae-cha.

"Mom, that what too much," Ari concluded and Miss Gown buried her head to the ground feeling guilty.

Min-Jun knocked at Ae-cha door severally but Ae-cha ignored him. He knew for sure that Ae-cha was inside. He noticed the door was not lock properly so he opened it and walked in.

Ae-cha was already lying in her bed. Her body was hidden inside the duvet crying her eyes out silently.

Min-Jun sits beside her. He watches her cry and he couldn't find a reasonable word to console her. Still he couldn't judge Miss Gown because he knew the reason for her action. He sat there in silent listening to her sobbing and soon he couldn't hear her sob anymore. He removed the duvet from her head and she was already asleep. He smiled and then cover her properly and crept out.
