Why? Why fight Voldemort? Why make the protagonist a fool with a stupid hero complex? Personally, I think it is necessary for the protagonist to risk his life fighting Voldemort in vain, except for a self-esteem problem that drives him to want to be the center of attention.

LIKEyh but that's what we're here for. we ain't here to see someone run away and live a life of a recluse hermit otherwise what's the point of writing a fanfic u might as well write an original story. the mc has the potential and knowledge to become one of the best by relying on the resources in hogwarts and u want him to run away with his tail tucked between his legs......
DaoistwDlTvd:The world is not limited to Europe
ur forgetting there isn't people like voldemort and Dumbledore the last one on their level was Grindlewald and he brought europe to its knees.
Ballad:I mean he's not wrong....Why would MC even care about Voldemort. He was never gonna win, People always forget that the Wizarding World isn't just Europe. Other countries have their own Dumbledores and Voldemorts.
There is no need to write specifically about the main characters of the book. There are good fanfictions that tell their story in the world of HP. Follow characters who have a fixed idea to fit into the canon, punish the guilty, reward those who deserve it, etc. Although their motivation for this is not spelled out. Just do this and that because... what exactly? Does he want this? Or does he have a heightened sense of justice? Or did the author want it that way?

I call BS to that, There's definitely Wizards and Witches on that level. Just because they don't go around advertising their power like morons.

doubt it, even people like Flitwick who are dueling world champions 3 times in a row aren't on their level maybe thers like 3 more people on their level that are reclusive and don't move about but even then I doubt they are on their level otherwise Grindlewald wouldn't have been able to bring war to so many nations without consequences.

this story is set 11 years before harry even knows what he is. but even tho it's not following canon as in the golden trio I still wanna see named characters like Lily, james and even sirius. I want the mc to change stuff instead of disappearing into the background while canon happens

You missed the point. The main character does not have to be either in the center of the fanfic or in the background. It may have its own original story, but within the specifications of the HP world. And here in the background are the main events of the book. And the quality of such fan fiction already depends on the author, but this is at least an attempt to create something of your own, and not just add another person to the canon.

idk personally I want the mc to be so involved in canon that canon no longer happens. I don't want them to just follow canon and make no changes and I also don't want them to run away and start a whole new life where canon doesn't even touch.
