It's always interesting seeing an author change wordings and try to shift the terminology away from Christian iconography. Terms like Divine Realm rather than Heaven. It makes sense, though I'd question why the author doesn't just make an original novel with similar characters. There's always the less popular fanfic option where the familiar cast is set in a semi original world. There's a smaller audience, but it also excludes the group that gets butt hurt over deviations from the original. Good luck author. This is not an easy tightrope to walk.

I haven't read the story yet, but the change in terminology might be because the author is religious. It would be awkward to incorporate one's religion into a harem story not that it chinise not sure.

its most likely not about the deviations from the plot but more on keeping the world as it is including the terminology and characters. for example, would you like it if in the fanfic you are reading, your favorite characters are changed illogically in terms of their personalities and demeanor? if rias grimory was turned by the author in to a short haired flat board with a grumpy personality and boyish demeanor, or Akeno being turned in to a mascular lady of 3 meters height though still retaining her seductive demeanor with a body builders physique of course, do you think it would still feel the same? might as well write an original at that point. just saying
I personally like reading fanfic than watch the actual anime since every MC in anime is a doormat or a submissive loser that likes to get hit, insulted or what not
