Usually love Cornbringers stories, but on this one the mc feels....incomplete, he barely acts like a actual person and more of a comment than anything else. Lose thoughts inserted into a story and sold as a character. Which is disappointing. Rest is of usual quality, well made, just if the main character isn't that good it pulls the rest down as well.

I agree, I think author was trying to go for the 'broken' mc trait due to his histroy but it becomes pretty hard to read at points and mc feels a bit aimless, if he was a normal dude and not every scene or arc constantly giving a sense of how much the guy struggles and how much mystery surrounds his unknown past and future it would make for a much better read, it also does not help that despite how much the guy works at getting stronger there is always someone stronger than him in the next arc, usually several of them making his progression seem stagnant, the character relationships and friendships he has going are very well portrayed but there is also minor issues like forced plot convenience like a xianxia trope often seen 'The Roach Villain' who just keeps coming back with the mc saying the line "You do that again and I will kill you", guy does it again and the same thing repeats multiple times, author has even said that he can't just kill the guy or he will have to fight someone he has no way of beating but why even cause the guy to be constantly after the mc to begin with? He's not an idiot young master who MUST kill the mc at all costs or even at all, heck they could even be friends but it ends up reading like he is because the plot demands it for no meaningful purpose besides needing someone to constantly put mc on edge.

Well he is actually or perhaps maybe part of him is sealed within himself and through the system he is unlocking it.

Exorcist in America

"Father Yorks, may I ask what is meant by scientific exorcism?" A large group of priests in divine robes at the bottom stared at the man on top of the high platform, their eyes fiery as they asked. Listening to the task released in his ears, the corners of Yorks' mouth rose slightly, and "What do you mean by scientific exorcism? My answer is that we have to utilize the characteristics of modern technology in conjunction with our traditional exorcism methods to exorcise demons ......" "We all know that the evil spirit hates our recitation of the Bible, so we can record our recitation and play it out through audio, tormenting it every day and making it physically ill ......" "The evil spirit hates holy water and holy water will cause it as much damage as fire, if it doesn't come out and does its little tricks to disgust people every day, then we can ask the homeowner's permission to use the showerhead to sweep through the house and irritate it every day, of course this will require a lot of holy water, so roll it up ...... " "If an evil spirit or demonic being descends, we'll just blast it to death with a gun, if the gun doesn't work, then a cannon, if the cannon doesn't work, then a nuke, if the nuke doesn't work, then just wait for it to die ......" Marvel: Ned the Master of Mystic Arts

A smart teenager from our universe wakes up in the Marvel Universe as Ned Leeds, Spider-Man's best friend. But this isn’t the Ned you think you know. In his original world, he was a die-hard Marvel fan. He had seen every movie, binge-watched every series, and delved deep into the lore of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Armed with an intricate knowledge of the future, he begins to subtly manipulate events in this universe, steering them toward a perfect future—one where the tragedies and heartbreaks of the Marvel universe can be avoided. When fate introduces him to the Mystic Arts, the world quickly realizes that Ned is far more than just comic relief. Even the Ancient One has to admit, "I was wrong—Ned is the best among us." With the Cloak of Levitation practically begging to stay by his side and powerful sorcery flowing through him, Ned becomes a rising star in the Marvel universe. His adventures don’t stop there. With his newfound abilities, Ned discovers the secrets of the multiverse and begins traveling across dimensions. From solving problems in alternate realities to mending broken worlds, Ned takes on challenges that even seasoned heroes wouldn’t dare to face. As he hops between universes, he learns the complexities of destiny, morality, and the weight of wielding such power. By knowing how events play out in the movies and series he once adored, Ned finds himself in a unique position to rewrite the timeline. Whether it’s nudging heroes like Tony Stark, Doctor Strange, or Thor to make better decisions or preventing devastating events like the Snap before they happen, his interventions slowly reshape the course of history. But with great knowledge comes great responsibility, and Ned soon realizes that altering the timeline is more complicated—and dangerous—than he could have imagined. Things aren’t all smooth sailing, though. After his dramatic glow-up—both in terms of magic and physique—his relationships start to shift. Even Wong can’t help but notice the peculiar way people glance at him now. "Ned’s a great guy, really. But after the weight loss… I can’t explain it, but something’s different." With humor, heart, and a heap of magical mishaps, Marvel: Ned the Master of Mystic Arts reimagines Ned Leeds as a master of mystic arts, juggling friendships, rewriting timelines, traveling through dimensions, and reshaping the chaotic Marvel universe.
