"Senpai’s going as well!?" Seiji was shocked at this sudden revelation.
"Yep, I also want to take a vacation soon, and going to a hot spring hotel seems like an excellent choice," Mai explained.
"This—"
"Could it be that you don’t want me to come along?" Mai asked sharply.
"No, of course that isn’t it," Seiji said hurriedly. "It’s just... if you want to go out and have some fun, wouldn’t it be better to go with your friends?"
"Of course it would be nice, but from time to time I’d like to change things up and go together with my cute junior~" Mai had a seductive look on her face.
Seiji was speechless.
"Of course, it'd be nice to chat to Amami-sensei and Yoshizawa-san again. How about it—is it alright?"
"Of course, you’re more than welcome," Seiji replied.

Seiji imagined hearing such a notification from his system.
Afterwards, Seiji said goodbye to Mai and walked back home together with Mika, who had been waiting for him.
Not long after he arrived home, Takagi-san from the renovation company brought over the contract.
Seiji and the landlord went over the contract together, and satisfied that there were no problems, they signed the contract and Seiji paid the deposit.
Takagi-san left with the signed contract and promised that he would send workers over to begin renovation tomorrow.
That night, Seiji inspected his system in the privacy of his own room, and since he had a plethora of points, he decided to exchange for [Writing Card—typing on the computer]!
Being able to write by typing on a computer would surely be much faster than writing by hand.
The card's price was a hefty fifty-five points, so he hoped that it was worth the cost.
After exchanging for it, the card materialized in front of him as usual. A black shadow typing rapidly on a white keyboard was depicted on one side.
Seiji laid on his bed as was his habit now when activating cards, and applied it to himself.
The card transformed into a flash of light that drilled into his brain.
Seiji felt his head heat up. Suddenly, he felt that he'd been enlightened somehow.
‘This is rather easy, compared to activation cards,’ he mused.
A few minutes later, Seiji sat in front of his computer and opened his novel document.
He thought about what he wanted to write, and the moment he placed his hands on the keyboard, he felt a familiar, wondrous feeling.
*Clack clack clack clack.*
His hands moved with blinding speed; the information he imagined was quickly typed onto the document.
His new typing speed was definitely twice as fast as his writing speed!
Seiji felt as if he was just like a hacker in a movie; he typed at such a rapid pace that he saw the afterimages of his hands as glided across the keyboard. The only difference was that he was typing a novel, not coding for a program.
‘This is really cool!’
This was just the speed that Seiji wanted.
Shika came to the study to check out what was going on due to hearing the clatter of Seiji’s keyboard.
She was astonished to see Seiji "viciously" pounding away at the keyboard.
‘Amazing...’ Shika wanted to get closer to see just what exactly he was typing.
In order to not distract her adopted brother from typing, she walked over as stealthily as possible and peeked at his screen from over his shoulder.
After watching for a while, her eyes lit up.
His writing skills were amazing! Not only could he write quickly, the quality was also high.
Words kept appearing on the screen as if he was tossing down handfuls of sand. In almost no time, he had filled up an entire page. He didn’t even make a single typo or miss a single word anywhere.
This was... simply wondrous.
No, it was beautiful! That was Shika’s sincere opinion.
Watching her own imagined scenario being written so exquisitely by her adopted brother was a wonderful feeling for Shika.
Seiji completely lost himself in creation, so he didn’t even notice Shika behind him as his imagination worked at a furious pace to keep up with his hands.
Shika secretly watched him for a long time before she left on tiptoes.
She felt that Seiji was truly amazing. In order to not be a burden on him, she felt that she needed to work even harder!
Shika knew in her heart that Seiji had the ability to write excellent stories even without her assistance, but he chose to cooperate and write a novel together with her.
This was done with warm intentions. Even if she didn’t do a good job, she was sure that he would insist on continuing to cooperate.
Shika was very grateful to her adopted brother, and it was her wish to continue writing stories with him. For that purpose, she needed to continuously raise her own level, so that she could write stories worthy of being his eternal partner in writing.
‘I'll read more light novels and other stories! I'll improve my own powers of imagination and writing so that I can do better!’

"Seigo, what are you writing during class time?" Chiaki asked.

"Yeah." The double pigtailed girl nodded and shot an inquisitive look at Seiji.
"Ah, so you guys caught me." Seiji scratched his face awkwardly. "Actually, I’m writing a novel."
"Writing a novel?" Both Mika and Chiaki's eyes widened in surprise.
"To be more specific, I’m writing a light novel... you guys know about light novels, right?"
"Of course, I read them occasionally on the internet," Chiaki said.
"I... I’m not sure," Mika said hesitantly.
Both Chiaki and Seiji turned to look at Mika with expressions of horror.
It seemed that it was time to train her... whoops, teach her some knowledge.
"Light novels... just like its name, it means a novel that’s light to read, although there’s no strict definition of it," Seiji explained.
It would be rather difficult to define just what exactly was and wasn’t a light novel, so he decided to make his explanation as simple as possible.
"Overall, light novels are rather relaxing to read, and they have exquisite cover and insert art, so it’s more enjoyable to read than traditional novels. Their story types are very similar to manga and anime, and many of them have been adapted into anime or vice versa, so many people think of light novels as a novel version of manga. Mika, you can interpret it that way as well."
"Oh..." The double pigtailed girl nodded.
"I’m currently writing a light novel in cooperation with Shika-chan. She’s in charge of coming up with ideas, and I’m in charge of the actual writing... we don’t intend to put it on the internet and are intending to have it officially published instead.
"Actually," Seiji continued, "I’ve already submitted my draft, and it was accepted; it’s scheduled to be published in Thunderbolt Literature’s magazine."
"Published!?" Mika and Chiaki's eyes bulged in surprise once again.
"Thunderbolt Literature’s magazine... isn’t that the company that Yoshizawa-san works for?" Mika asked.
"Yep, that’s how it is." Seiji proceeded to explain how he'd gotten to know Editor Yoshizawa.
"I see... amazing! Seigo, your story is about to be published," Chiaki said, impressed.

"Yes, you’re really amazing," Mika praised. "The story that Seigo wrote... I really want to read it."
"You’ll be able to see it when it’s published."
Seiji felt a little embarrassed when faced with the two beauties’ sincere praise.
"When’s the magazine being published?" Chiaki asked. "I’ll definitely buy a copy... by the way, what’s the name of the novel you’re having published?"

"He's different than what I expected" is the first thought that pops into my mind as I look at the scrawny kid in front of me. His hair is dark brown, almost black, and his eyes are a deep green similar to wet moss. His professor proceeds to explain that he is an undergraduate student that is a great writer. But is unsure if he should pursue this job or another, more stable job. His concerns are valid. Anyone in this field, especially me, is worried about what their future will look like. Writing is a tough industry to be in. One minute your book could be a success, the next minute it is sold online for a quarter. And that is only if you pursue a writing career. 

If you are an editor, jobs can be hard to find. Yes, everyone wants to be published and there are thousands of people every day who bring in book proposals, but editors only see the books that make it, interns or other workers take care of reading the manuscripts while the editors help the authors get to the next stage of advertising the book and making it a success by offering revisions that authors may or may not take. It is especially hard because editors need to stay on top of the social world because interests and the way people advertise change in a flash. It can be really frustrating sometimes. 

Putting my hand out, I introduce myself to the boy. He takes it with a firm shake that surprised me from his small build. He seems shy, but he has a confident shake and that is important in this industry. If you are not confident in yourself, no one else will be confident in you. I learned this very quickly in my internship. 

After a little bit of push and pull, I find out that his name is Shane and he is only a freshman with parents who want him to do accounting even though he barely passed his math class in high school. 

As the conversation continues, he becomes more and more open with me and his sentences get longer and longer. It makes me proud and happy that he is slowly opening up to me. I want to be her mentor and his friend. I don't want this to be strictly business. I have enough of that in my life. Plus, this will be my first friend post-trauma. This is a significant point in my life and I need to take advantage of this opportunity.  

"How would you like to have lunch today? Do you have any classes?" 

"No, I finished earlier. I have short days on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but my Tuesdays and Thursdays are absolutely dreadful." 

"Get used to that. If you are a writing major or minor, the majority of the classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but as you get farther into your schooling, you will have Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays off."

He sits there silently for a moment or two, possibly contemplating what his future schedule is like. Remembering my earlier question, I redirect the conversation. 

"Would you like to have lunch today? You can ask me any questions that you would like and I will answer them the best that I can." 

"That would be great! Is there somewhere on or around campus we can go to? I don't have a car." 

"Of course! We can go to Starbucks and sit at one of the tables there. It shouldn't be too busy around this time." 

After saying goodbye to his professor, we walk over to Starbucks in friendly silence. It wasn't awkward, mostly because students were walking around here and there either talking to friends or on the phone.

I take Shane's order and tell him to find a table as I walk to the line. It's long as it usually is, but the workers are always quick to everyone's drinks out. A couple of minutes later, we are sitting across from each other at a small table in the corner. The volume is lower here, possibly because everyone sits in the middle, but it's nice. We can have a conversation without having to yell at each other. 

"Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?"

His question catches me slightly off guard, but I should have expected it. I mean, I am helping him choose whether writing is the career path that he wants to pursue. 

"Sure. Is there anything specific you want to know?" 

"No, not really. Maybe you can talk about how you first decided you wanted to write and what steps you took to get to where you are now." 

"Okay, let's see. I guess I can start from the beginning. Uh, I didn't have the best home life and I found that writing was something that always helped me calm down and cope. It still has the same effects today which is another reason I continued my writing career path. I find that inspiration is everywhere, even in places you don't expect, so as long as you know grammar skills and how to make characters rateable, you can write a story. 

"When I first started college, I really didn't know what I wanted to do. Similar to you, I was worried about the financial stability of having a writing career. It can be tricky, the market is always changing. And I needed money, I was on my own at that time and I had to take care of myself and some way to pay my tuition so my loans weren't as high as they would have been. I found a couple of apps where you could write and get paid. It wasn't much, but when I found out that people actually liked what I wrote, I became more motivated to get my words out there. 
"A couple of years later I was about to graduate with a bachelor's degree in writing. At this point, I had no idea what I could do with this degree or if I wanted to continue schooling. I looked up a few programs at colleges and decided to go to graduate school. I wanted a master's degree, at least, this way I could teach a writing course in high school if I could not find a job for a publishing house and I didn't have any ideas for a novel. 

"And then, last spring, I graduated with my master's degree and I work at a publishing house, not far from here, as an editor. But, I should back up a bit. When you are in graduate school, the program typically has a mandatory course where you have to intern at a location that you might be interested in working with after you graduate. I chose the publishing house I currently work at and interned there for the two years that it took to get my master's degree. After I graduated, they kept me on the team because they liked my work ethic, and I was friendly with the head of the editing department. It really helps to network no matter what field you are going into. 

"I think, if you really want to know whether writing is for you, you should give it a shot. I can mention your name to my boss and he may not be able to give you the job I had because you don't have a degree, but you can start as a lower-level employee and then work your way up."
He sits in his seat silently for a minute, absorbing all the information while he takes a couple of sips of his coffee. I don't blame him. I could have given him the condensed version of how I decided to be an editor.

"Wow. I feel like you. I have always used writing as a way out. I like being able to create my own world with it's own drama or-or a story with a happy ending that I can look forward to giving th charayeriers. It gives me hope that even if my life isn't going great at this moment, at least I can write about how I would like my life to be."

It is in this moment that I am more grateful than I could ever express for being introduced to Shane. He understands the need to write and how it provides an escape, a way out of reality and into a new world that we can mold anyway we want to. For us, it is another, happier, life. 

"It is great to have someone who understands the impact of writing. Just hearing you talk makes me certain that you should be a writer. Of course, discuss this with your parents, they can be tough, but I would use some of your electives to take a few writing courses, preferably creative writing, so you can see if this is the right fit for you."

"Thank you. I would like to try to get an internship at the place you work. Would you be able to give me someone's contact who I can call to set up an interview?" 

"Of course. When I go to work, I will ask my boss whose number to give to you. I am really glad that we were able to do this. Would you like to meet again sometime?"

"Yes, if I want to convince my parents to let me pursue this, I need to have all the facts."

"Great, let me know when you want to meet again. You have my number, just call or text me and we will set something up." 

"Thanks again, Rose. I will see you soon." 

"See you then." 

He leaves the table taking his coffee with him. I am glad we were able to do this. I think this is definitely going to help me, and in the process, help him as well.

After you confirm what genre and topic you wish to write about, it's now time for you as an author to design your settings and write the overall planned outline for your plot. As for why I'm putting these two elements together, that's because these two elements are deeply interconnected and inseparable.
 
When you're writing the overall outline, this is basically coming up with the story's plot. As you write the outline, what you're actually doing is fleshing out the details for your setting.
 
When you're writing a story, of course, you need to first consider where your story will happen, when it happens, who it happens to, and what type of person it happens to. As the story progresses, you also need to consider who the main character will meet in the story, what time and place he or she meets them at, along with who's stronger and who's weaker than the main character…
 
This is why by the time that you're finished with your overall outline, the world's background, various factions, levels, special abilities, treasures, all the important characters… and such settings will be naturally completed during the course of outlining.
 
The reverse is true as well. If you first work on designing the detailed settings instead, then you'll basically end up with an outline for the story's plot and how the main character grows over the story as well.
 
Of course, there's still some differences depending on which angle you start from. However, newcomer authors like you don't need to worry about this. You can simply create based on your personality and whatever you prefer. It doesn't matter whether you start from the settings or the outline. You can even do both at the same time.
 
For newcomer authors like you, there's only five points that are critically important for you to understand.
 
1.      Having an overall outline isn't absolutely necessary, but having one is always better than not having one
 
Theoretically speaking, even if you didn't prepare an overall outline, it might not affect the progress of you writing your novel at all. There are some authors out there that simply write whatever comes into their mind and go with the flow.
 
Of course, this is all just a best-case scenario in theory. For the great majority of authors out there, once your story's plot exceeds your planned outline... 

Your outline will help your story stay on track in the early stages, but once you reach the mid and late stages, all sorts of problems often appear, such as too many plotlines all at once, self-contradictory plotlines, or writer's block…
 
At such a time, authors will typically regret not creating a more detailed outline, but it's already too late now. Actually, overall outlines have more uses than you think.
 
Since webnovels are typically longer than normal novels, they take much longer to write as well. Typically, it takes an average author several months or even longer to finish writing everything in their overall outline. By the time that they're finish writing everything in their overall outline, most authors will have new ideas and insights into what they want to write. Once they combine their new ideas with their original outline, in a way, this gives them two sources of inspiration. It's basically the equivalent of two people working together, and on top of that, these two people know exactly what each other are thinking.
 
It's easy to see how this can be helpful in improving the quality of your novel.
 
Apart from this, while creating an overall outline, the author can also discover many topics or problems with the settings and correct them in time.
 
To give an extreme example, if you're having a great difficulty with writing your overall outline and don't know what to do with your own plot, this proves that there's a large problem with your plot. You should either make major changes, or delete this part of your plot entirely.
 
So, newcomer authors definitely shouldn't overlook the uses of having an overall outline. No matter if you have a good or bad outline, a simple or a detailed one, as long as you have one, that's good.
 
What needs to be noted is that only outlines that have been written out truly count as outlines.
 
Even if you as an author have a very detailed outline, and even if you've solidly memorized every single plot point in your outline, any outline that hasn't been written into your novel doesn't count as a true outline. That's because when you actually start writing, you'll discover that what you finally end up writing will always have differences from what you envisioned.
 
2.      You need to finish your outline, but it doesn't need to be complete
 
Thinking about your outline is equivalent to thinking about your novel's plot. You need to consider both the beginning and the end. You also need to think about everything that the main character experiences from the beginning to the end of the story.
 
If your outline isn't finished, but only half-finished, you won't even be able to predict the storylines that come later, which will cause you to have difficulties writing your plot once you finish the beginning stages. This is basically the same as not having an outline at all.
 
Still, there's no need for us to make the outline as detailed as possible from the very beginning, with so many specific scenarios for all your plots. The reason for this is quite simple—none of us know just how long our novels will turn out to be in the end.
 
A story that's written with the intent of becoming a commercial product needs to be sufficiently long enough right from the planning stage. The longer your potential story, the better. But actually, how many words it finally ends up with depends on how well your story performs.
 
If your story is incredibly popular and performs well in the market, then we can consider writing it for as long as possible. However, if your story obviously isn't popular with readers, then you can consider ending your story in a timely fashion at an appropriate point in the plot so that you can think of a new story instead. That would be a wiser decision if you wish to become a professional author.
 
Of course, when you're only in the outlining stage, it's impossible for you as a newcomer author to know how readers will react to your novel. Precisely because of this, you need to have a flexible writing plan. What this means is that you should have an outline that's detailed in the beginning and general near the end. For the beginning of your story, you should have as detailed an outline as possible, while for the middle and especially the later parts of your story, you only need some general ideas. All you need is to consider the overall development of the plot so that you know what direction to take your storyline in.
 
For example, maybe you planned that the beginning of your novel will be approximately 80,000 words, and you've prepared a 4,000-word outline for just the beginning. In that case, your outline for the next 80,000 words, the middle of your story, might only need 3000 words, and the meat of your story, another 240,000 words, might have an outline that's less than 1000 words.
 
Of course, as you continue writing your story, you should constantly update your outline as well. You should complete your outline for the next 80,000 words before you finish writing the first 80,000 words.
 
3.      Your settings need to be constantly updated

Just like writing an outline, you should first come up with the basic settings before you even begin writing, which includes your world background, main character's personality, power levels, and so on.
 
More specific settings, such as a powerful artifact that appears in the story, can be added as you write your story.
 
Unlike an outline, you don't need to fully plan out all of your settings at the very beginning. It's perfectly acceptable to think of new settings while you're writing.
 
However, newcomer authors need to note that while it's okay to come up with new settings as you write, you should write these settings down and add them to your outline or settings document as you write.
 
This is to help yourself check your own settings later in the future. Otherwise, a novel that reached over one million words and has lasted for one year or longer might cause you as an author to completely forget about something you wrote before in the past. It's even quite common to make a mistake when writing about the items that the main character possesses. Yet, there will always be a sharp-eyed reader or two that catches the author out in a misstep.
 
If you have a very detailed document on your settings, not only will you be able to greatly reduce your own plot continuity errors, you'll also be able to look through your settings whenever you have writer's block and find some inspiration in a side character that you have already forgotten about or some item that was mentioned before but never used again.
 
4.      It's better for your settings to be cliché
 
Here, this means the systems and names that you use for your settings. For example, the names and levels you use for a martial arts society.
 
Many newcomer authors will mistakenly think that using already existing well-known settings will make their novel seem too cliché, causing them to want to be as "unique" as possible. These authors will use their imaginations to come up with all sorts of fictional vocabulary words, which in their minds will make their novels "stand out." These newcomer authors don't realize that this is the worst possible way to write a novel. In the great majority of situations, this will have the opposite effect from intended.
 
A new original novel that you write should be a new interpretation or story about some specific genre or story type. How to make your novel stand out depends on the conflicts you create in your story and how the main character resolves them. As for coming up with new vocabulary words and names for your novel, even if you make them sound really cool, or make some modified slang words, it's almost never a good thing for you.
 
The reason for this can also be understood in my article about how to write the beginning of your story. By doing so, the author is placing more burden upon the readers to understand a larger amount of information.
 
There will always be other already existing words that you could have used, which are easily understood by all your readers. Instead, your readers now need to spend their time and effort on reading your explanations. Obviously, readers aren't here to read your technical manuals or info dumps. The more explanations that you have in your novel, the lower your novel's appeal and flow will become. But, if you don't add any explanations for your self-created words at all, the readers won't even understand what's going on.
 
This is why newcomer authors should avoid this useless type of "creativity" as much as possible. You should simply rely on settings that all readers are familiar with instead.
 
5.      The storyline should be pushed forward by using conflicts
 
Many newcomer authors will often develop writer's block when planning their outline or working on their novel.
 
Sometimes, this is because the author has made their storyline too messy. But most of the time, it's because the author feels like there's nothing to write about, or doesn't know what they should make the main character do. The author has no idea how to continue their own story.
 
In order to deal with writer's block, or in other words, how to push your storyline alone, the answer is actually incredibly simple.
 
You can answer this question using only one word – Conflicts!
 
Actually, the critical element of all webnovels can be summed up into one word – conflicts. For example, leveling is the desire or need of the main character to become stronger, which is a conflict between the main character and his or her own current weakness.
 
And since there is a conflict, you must resolve the conflict. And so, your main character wants to cultivate to become stronger, which means he needs to travel around the world in order to find cultivation methods…

The focus in this FanFic is more on Slice of Life and Romance than the Action cause I'm new in the world of writing, and Actually, I don't know how to write Fighting Scenes... Maybe just a little... And of course, the PLOT is still the OC. I know having a harem is a plot hole, not just that maybe there is more but meh this a fanfic, that is my only excuse if you have any concerns, sorry I am a bad author *fake tears* 😿.
The anime in my opinion is a masterpiece but! I want Romance too so... this FanFic is Maybe just tweaking the original plot, so it has Romance. It's a first for me writing a Romance plot, so is writing a FanFic.
Please do go easy on me for writing complaints, but the criticism is good for me.

Our MC here has no memories of the real Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, his knowledge is just what he knew in the anime in his old world but! His body belongs to that of Kiyotaka Ayanokoji. So, he has by far good memory (I won't add high IQ because I don't want to add more complaints about how our MC don't do the more plausible or easy thing to do if you know what these means) and even though he has only so small of knowledge about martial arts (most likely in anime) in his old world, his keen sense, instincts, reflex, and the so-called muscle memory belongs to that of Kiyotaka Ayanokoji too and of course I won't forget to have him train too and you all probably know what the training will be...lol!

"I've been taking allergy pills. So, it's much better."
Brian's hand that was rubbing Elena's cheek now turned to reach and hold her hand.
"Sorry. I didn't know you were allergic to pollen." Brian said guiltily.
"If I had known, I wouldn't have sent you flowers."
Elena saw Brian's apologetic and sad look. It made Elena unable to get angry or annoyed at the man because she had made her allergies recur. Besides, Brian wasn't wrong because he didn't know anything.
"Never mind, I understand that you have absolutely no idea about my allergies. Actually there are some flowers that I can still accept and don't trigger my allergies. But baby breath flowers are one of the flowers that trigger my allergies."
"Is it true?" Brian asked, curious about the information Elena had given him.
"Yes."
"Then what flower do you like?" Brian asked enthusiastically. Next time he won't be mistaken, if he wants to send Elena flowers.
"I love carnations." Elena replied.
"I'll remember it." Brian said with a big smile. The man noted the carnation flower as Elena's favorite flower, and it will be her favorite flower too.

Brian couldn't possibly admit that it was his writing because the sentence was really embarrassing for him. But if she says it's Fredy, how will Elena react if she finds out it's not Brian's original writing? The only way is to blame Fredy who is presumptuous for writing the note without Brian's knowledge.
"What the hell. This line is so embarrassing." Embarrassed Brian.
"Fredy must have written this on purpose without my knowledge. That man. You'll see I'll scold him." Brian blames all the blame on Fred. And said that Fred wrote the note on his own initiative. Even though Brian actually asked Fred to do it, because he didn't know what to write. But why is the sentence that his friend wrote, it's so embarrassing.
