So Pauls uncle called Charlie's grandparents.
"Hello, its Paul's uncle, I was wondering did Charlie's principal, called today and say what happened," said Paul's Uncle.
"Yes, sir, he told us what happened today at school," said the Grandfather.
"So what do we need to do, to get these kids on the same page, they are so much alike, they have no idea," said Paul's uncle.
"I know, we can make them do a quest where they go out for a night and spend time with each other and get to know each other a little better, maybe it will give them peace and closure of what took place that was told to them," said the Grandfather.
"Yes so when would you like to do that?" asked Paul's uncle.
"How about Friday night," said the Grandfather.
"Sounds good, I will tell Paul when he gets in from riding, and we will swing by Friday night," said Paul's uncle.
"Okay I will see you then," said Grandfather.
"Okay, bye," said Paul's uncle.
"Who was that darling?" asked Grandmother.
"It was Paul's uncle, he wants them both to go a quest Friday night to try and kindle their friendship and make peace with each other," said Grandfather.
"I think that is a great idea," said Grandmother.
"Where is Charlie?" asked Grandfather.
"In his room doing homework he is still upset about this whole thing, he just wants to be Paul's friend," said Grandmother.
"I know, I'll tell him the news," said Grandfather.
So the Grandfather walked up to his room and knocked on the door.
"Come in," said Charlie.
"Doing your homework?" asked Grandfather.
"Yes," said Charlie.
"May I stop you for a minute to talk to you?" asked Grandfather.
"Sure you can," said Charlie putting his pen down.
"I talked with Paul's uncle on the phone just a minute ago, we are going to put you both on a quest, Friday night, we are going to drop you off and you guys are going to be alone for one night and then in then in the morning we will come back and get you, this is for both of you. Especially for Paul, he needs to come to terms, that you both suffered," said Grandfather.
"Okay, I understand, I hope it will kindle our relationship as friends, I hope he comes to terms and peace in his heart," said Charlie.
"Me too grandson, me to," said Grandfather.
"It is settled then," said Grandfather walking out of Charlie's room. Charlie went back to doing his homework.
Back in Pauls's place, Paul comes walking in.
"Hey how was the ride?" asked Paul's uncle.
"It was okay," said Paul.
"Hey, sit down for a bit, I need to talk to you, for a bit," said Paul's uncle.
"Okay," said Paul.
"Charlie's Grandfather and I talked on the phone today, and we both have decided to put both of you on a quest Friday night," said Paul's uncle.
"What, why," angered Paul.
"You need it Paul, and so does he, you both are alike even though you may not see it Paul, but you are, you both suffered tragically at the same time, you both were taken away and brought back, and now it's time to put the past in the past and leave it there, stop blaming it on Charlie you and him both had nothing to do with what happened, this is a time for you two to kindle your friendship and be at peace with each other, you two are still learning the ways here on the reservation," said Paul's uncle.
Paul did not say anything, he just looked at the floor, he was not too pleased but deep down in the cold hardened heart of his, he knew he had to do it. So he got up and went into his room and his uncle went back to work on the radio.
Back at Charlie's house Charlie finished his homework and put his pen down and walked towards the window and stared out. He was thinking what would happen to them if they did go on there quest, would Paul try to beat him since nobody is going to be there with them just them too. Or would Paul come to the understanding of friendship and putting the past behind him. All these things were going through Charlie's head.
"He is going to use that time to beat me up," said Charlie.
So Charlie went to the kitchen to eat dinner before they went to sleep.
"So are you are for tomorrow night?" asked Grandmother.
"Not really, I'm worried about this whole thing," said Charlie.
"You are, why?" asked Grandfather.
"I'm worried that Paul might try to beat me up or hurt me since nobody is going to be there, it's just going to be us," said Charlie.
"You don't need to worry about that, remember he is just now learning our ways, and I've taken you up there before and showed you around and the caves, he has not been there before, so he has no idea what is there, so I don't think he will try anything since he needs you to help him, because he has never been in that area before," said Grandfather.
"I hope you are right Grandfather," said Charlie.
"Don't worry about it, clear mind and you will be alright," said Grandmother.
"Okay," said Charlie finishing up eating his dinner.
So they went to bed. The next morning, Charlie was up with his Grandfather and started feeding the horses and Grandmother was cooking breakfast. Amitola started walking up the driveway.
"Morning Charlie," said Amitola.
"Morning, how are you doing," said Charlie.
"Good, how about yourself?" asked Amitola.
"Good, I herd what is going to happen tonight," said Amitola.
"I know," said Charlie.
"Are you worried?" asked Amitola.
"A little," said Charlie.
"Remember grandson, clear your mind," said Grandfather.
"Yes sir," said Charlie going back to feeding the horses.
"Will you join us for breakfast?" asked Grandfather.
"Sure, thank you," said Amitola.
Amitola walks inside and helps Grandmother set the table and get breakfast ready. Charlie and Grandfather walk up to the house and walks inside.
"Don't forget to wash your hands," said Grandmother.
Grandfather and Charlie washed there hands at the sink and sat down at the table and started eating.
At Paul's house, they two were sitting at the table eating dinner.
"So are you ready," said Paul's uncle.
"No, I don't know why I have to go on this stupid trip," said Paul.
"It is for you and Charlie both, to come together to work as a team and to look after one another, to kindle your friendship, you both are kids like ash and flame, you both come from the same fire," said Paul's uncle.
Paul just rolled his eyes. When it was starting to get dark, Paul and his uncle got in the truck and drove to Charlie's place.
They all go into the pickup and drove off.

The price of a kindle is reading seven hadith books. I close the messenger and the chats. It's 5p.m. means I've been reading the texts for at least about a solid twenty minutes. I call Kashmira and ask her If she wants to go for a walk. Course she said yes.

Sael stopped to hover high enough that the arena looked like a tiny ring down below.  His breath was little clouds and he felt like he was gasping.  "Stubborn asshole.  If my Stone Breaker can't beat you try my Mountain Breaker!"  Dropping into a divebomb he snapped his wings for more force.  He still wasn't the best at flying but when it came to just a straight line he felt more than confident.  With a boom of force a ring like cloud erupted around him,  then further down as he continued to speed up another, finally after that a third formed as the ground flashed towards him.  He furled his wings and activated his Stone Breaker skill when he was nearly upon Granite.  In truth he had no new skill but simply planned to add the momentum of a massive dive to his drop kick.  Crude but effective.

He saw Granite Fist with his arms raised up and crossed to block the blow.  Sael was shocked he could see it coming not realizing Granite had taken that pose before he even started the dive out of instinct.  Sael watched as if the world slowed down when his leg collided with Granite's stone looking arms.  He saw the stone like skin crack and fracture before they were blown away.  His heel snapped into the man's shoulder once his arms were knocked away, forcing him down to crash into the sand.  Fissures and cracks spread all across his body as the sand was blown away.  The earth gave way forming an ever growing crater as debris billowed out from the shockwave of the blow.  To the crowd eagerly watching, they saw a streak come back down before the arena erupted.  Sand billowed up to crash violently against the unseen barrier that protected the stands.  It forced the raging sandstorm upwards until it passed the limits of the barrier and spread out like a huge mushroom cloud of dust. 

Just as the dust started to clear out inside the arena the silent crowd was startled by three consecutive booms from above drawing their attention to the three strange cloud rings still expanding above.  Someone yelled out "Look!" drawing the crowd's attention back to the arena.  There through the haze they could see someone standing far below.  The entire arena had sunken down into a massive crater making it look like a giant bowl now.  Standing at the deepest point was a man, as the dust cleared they saw the green and silver armor of the Twilight King.  On the ground face down was Granite Fist unmoving.  Just as the crowd started to go wild the prone figure stirred.

Sael looked down both impressed and horrified. "What the hell man. That last attack shattered my entire leg."

Granite Fist's entire body had taken on the appearance of the polished stone of his name sake.  But now it was covered in deep cracks and fissures that bleed freely to mix with the sand dust that had settled on them.  Slowly he pushed himself up, one arm bent at an odd angle and the other Sael could hear what sounded like cracking when he put weight on it.  Still, inch by inch he stood up.  Sael was fine, his leg had healed before it even touched the ground.  He had no doubt he could defeat this stubborn man if he used the Fairy King's Spear.  But he was so impressed with the man's resolve he was debating on throwing in the towel out of respect.  "Sorry, If I didn't have money on this fight…."

Sael was getting ready to call in his spear when Granite Fist stood up impressively straight for someone wobbling so much.  "What...Is...Your…. Name."
His opponent was panting and each word was forced out with great effort.  Sael figured he meant his real name since he'd been announced as the Twilight King.  Of Course he wouldn't give his earth name but he figured he owed this stubborn warrior at least his Isekai name.  "Sael."

Sael waited to see what would happen, would the stubborn berserker attack now?  He got his answer in the form of a hideous smile.  Granite's mouth was a mess most of his teeth were shattered and blood was drooling out.  When he smiled the cracks in his stone like face oozed out more blood that soaked the sand coating him.  "Thank… You." 

With that the giant fell back to crash on the ground like a fallen stone pillar.  Above him from one of the side tunnels the moderator yelled out that the match was over and half a dozen white robed people started sliding down into the crater.  Looking down Sael muttered "Damn, I didn't get his name."  Promising himself he would find out when the man recovered he turned and looked up out of his crater before throwing up his hands in victory.  As if that was what the arena had been waiting for, their trance like silence broke as they erupted in excitement.  He winked at the girls before starting his climb out of the arena.

Sele sat stiff backed in her chair watching the terrifying thing leave the arena after doing what should have been impossible.  Though she kept her eyes on the green and silver clad beast she addressed Dinn next to her. "Still looking forward to the exhibition match?"

"Absolutely! But I think we are going to have to make it a two on one for it to matter.  I can't believe my own eyes.  I don't know if I should be more shocked that a level five had such affinity with Mountain's Blessing or that a different level five managed to beat them through raw force.  What has this world become. Makes me wish I was still young."  Dinn's eyes burned with the passion of a true adventurer.

"I wish I could share your optimism.  What I've just witnessed leaves me more afraid than excited."  Sele watched as the man disappeared into one of the tunnels before a short while later coming up a set of stairs to join his companions.

"Bah you worry too much."  Dinn hoped he was right.

"What the hell was that man?!"  Dego was the first to greet him.

"Money! Profits! Bets!" Peter apparently had joined them and was hopping with a level of excitement normally reserved for a smut novel.

Beth hopped up to drag him down into a kiss. "So did you like the armor? How did it work? Ugh you got blood all over it.  Damn it one second.  Lets see if this works."  As her eyes went slightly unfocused and started moving her hands in the air before her. While she did her thing Sael leaned down to scoop up Ara who had the cutest pout going to give her a kiss. 

Her face flushed and she looked around at all the people near them, everyone was watching them. "What, that's not what you wanted?  I can go back to avoiding you if you want…"

"What! No… Just… maybe not while everyone is watching." She practically whispered while her ears turned as red as her hair.

"I don't mind mine in public." Nee pursed her lips while stretching on her tiptoes towards him.  Leaning down he gave her a kiss but started to agree with Ara as he caught more than one comment from the crowd around them.  'Maybe PDA isn't such a good idea when in a harem.'

"Done!"  Beth exclaimed and he realized his armor was now perfectly clean.  "I can use the repair and maintenance features on your armor through your inventory interface."  her eyes sparkled. "Go on tell me how amazing I am!"

"You are amazing!" Her face erupted into a satisfied grin. 

"Talking about amazing! Forget the magic dry cleaning! What was that? I thought the plan was to lay low until the later rounds?"  Dego seemed to flip between awe struck and annoyed.

"Eh, I figured there was no point being awesome if I didn't get to flaunt it some right?  It isn't like our bets aren't already in place.  Gree isn't letting any new bets be placed so I decided to have some fun."  Dego looked like he wanted to complain but just sorta deflated.

Sael chuckled and put down the still blushing Ara when she complained about all the people staring at her before nodding to Peter.  "I see you decided to join us.  Did you get your bets in?"

"Yep! Good investment! Definitely quite the show you put on.  Amazing! Can't wait to see the rest of the matches.  Would never have missed this."  Peter hopped around finishing off his already almost ruined shoes.

"Yeah he says that now but was complaining about all the card games being canceled due to the ball happening."  Beth decided to rat out the pervy Pan.

"Baaaaa! Lies! Slander!"  Sael laughed and turned to watch as Granite Fist was taken out of the crater by the white robed mages before others entered and started filling the pit with fresh sand that appeared out of the staffs they wielded.  Glancing to the sky to check the sun's position he realized his fight hadn't lasted long, no more than maybe ten minutes. 

"Mister Mister?" Two small children rushed up to him.  One a small boy with shaggy brown hair grabbed his pinky in one hand and his pointer finger in the other before yanking on his hand.  "That was amazing! Did you fly? How strong are you?  This is the low level bracket?  What was that skill called? I want to get it when I'm an adventurer!" 

Next to him a girl that looked very similar if only a bit smaller stared up at him with eyes so wide and blue they were creepy when compared to how tiny her face was. "Are you a real king?" she asked in an awed voice.

Sael's body went stiff and his face twisted up as he tried to smile while panicking.  'Kids, ugh… I understand them even less than I do girls.'

"Um… Stone Breaker… No Mountain Breaker." He tried to gently pry the kids hands off his finger before just lifting his hand leaving the kid dangling from it.  The boy let out a squeal of laughter enjoying the game as he frowned looking at the girls for help.  All he got were giggly looks and awwws back while the little girl tugged on his sleeve to ask her question again.

"Um...yes." 

Her eye somehow managed to get wider before she pointed at the girls and whispered out like it was some secret.  "Are they your queens?"

Nodding awkwardly while jiggling his hand hoping the boy would let go but only getting another squeal of laughter the girl gasped. "Then can I be your princess?"

"What? No.  That isn't how it works…" He wiggled a bit harder and just got a louder squeal of laughter. 

Suddenly the girl lunged forward and wrapped her arms around his leg in a hug.  "Pweaase I'll be the best princess ever!"

He turned to approach the girls walking awkwardly with one kid hugging his stiff leg and the other squealing with joy as they dangled from his hand.  His gave them such a sincere look of desperation and un-comfort that they were almost ready to help when a woman rushed up yelling.  "Ian! Grettle! Oh my gods I am so sorry. Please forgive them.  I'm so sorry. Please I hope they didn't bother you.  I looked away for just a moment. I'm so sorry."  The kids mother bobbed constantly apologizing while she pried the children off him much to everyone's amusement. 

"No worries… Kids will just be kids right!"  He gave her a smile while mentally thinking. 'Ugh now I bet I'm all sticky. Kids are always sticky right?  I wonder if Beth will do the dry cleaning thing again.'  He subconsciously wiped his hand on his pants even though it wasn't sticky at all. 

After the little event with the kids, other's in the crowd approached wanting to meet him.  It seemed his reaction to the children had alleviated their fears of what kind of person someone capable of destroying the arena was.  People congratulated him.  Recommended places to eat.  Even offered to buy him drinks. They asked about his skills, where he came from, who he was.  A few of the women thought to flirt with him but were quickly put down by the "not happening sister" squad as he was starting to think of them.  He would never admit it to them but he found their unity while fending off any woman that looked his way flattering in a way, he just hoped they didn't get carried away. 

Min eventually found his way to him also, his massive mustache was wiggling in excitement and he apologized for ever doubting him. "I should have known someone with such fine taste in moustaches would never lie!  I look forward to fighting you in the finals.  Now I just know I don't have to go easy on you!" He laughed but looked just a little bit nervous. 

The whole arena was in a frenzy after the last fight.  No one had expected such a display from so early in the bracket especially in the low bracket.  Many thanked the gods above that such an amazing fighter was at the end of a bracket so they could see more of their fights.  In the VIP section Dinn sneezed more than ones muttering about someone talking about him.  There was just one person in the entire arena not happy or excited.  Alan stared from his own VIP seat at the man that seemed to be basking in the attention from having commoner's fawn over them. 

"Who the hell is he?  What the hell is he? He has to be cheating.  There is no way someone like that belongs in the lower bracket.  How could they have done something like that.  Was it some fairy magic?  Is that why he keeps such childish whores?  No, none of this matters.  He still isn't my match." He stated the last as if he was convincing himself. "When I crush him it will only make me look that much better."  He resumed his pacing waiting on them to finish repairing the arena so he could have his own match.

Duke Kindle watched the arena through his scrying mirror. As much as he wanted to be there in person his presence would have complicated his son's participation.  He too was watching the unknown adventurer named Twilight King with a worried expression.  Duke Kindle loved his son more than anything,  he'd pampered him, given him everything he wanted, enabled his vices and covered up his mistakes.  That was why he also kept him out of his dealings and had arranged a safe marriage to a perfect trophy wife.  Nindel's Duke's daughter was plain as could be but smart enough to know her role.  She would be the perfect wife for his son, one that would let him do as he pleased while acting her role.  Duke Kindle had done everything to make sure his son's life would be one of safety and pleasure.  Now, he looked on afraid his son might have stumbled into real danger for the first time. 

"Alan will never back down.  And if this Twilight King is half as strong as he appears my baby boy might not survive." Sighing, he rang a bell summoning his aid.  "Please make arrangements for this Twilight King to have dinner with us should he make it to the finals." His aid nodded and left to make arrangements. The rest of the time, we talked about personal issues, some funny school stories, and many other things. I went back to bed around 5, that night.

Michael took out his trusty trowel and started clearing the ground from the snow, and took out planks of wood from his [Storage] and laid them on the ground, before starting a small fire which started to grow big after putting some kindle on it, then he started to put a couple more firewood, successfully making a campfire.
He took out a huge chopping board, a large pot, a couple of carrots and potatoes, placing them inside the pot, before making his way towards a well he saw earlier on the way to Old Buck's home.
"Hi!"
Michael greeted all the villagers he met on the way, who just responded to him with a nod and stiff smile on their faces.
'Huh, it seems my fame isn't working here. Must have been because they were isolated for a long time that they never heard any news outside of Everwinter. Heck, I wouldn't even be surprised if they haven't heard of the Six Sages yet from just how Old Buck didn't seem to know the immensity behind the Dragon Master's name'
He just shrugged his shoulders and started to fill the pot with water from the well, with some of the villagers watching him curiously from the sidelines, especially the kids.
Michael started washing the vegetables for a few seconds before putting them inside his [Storage] and replacing the water on the pot with a new one.
"Hey, don't cause any trouble" Carter suddenly appeared beside him and warned him while wearing a ferocious look on his face.
Michael just looked at him and then shrugged his shoulders before making his way back.
"Hey, don't you dare do anything fishy, you hear me!?" Carter angrily yelled from behind him.
When he got back on his campfire, Michael noticed two kids wearing ragged clothing running away from the site and hid behind an abandoned log cabin, as they peeked their heads out and curiously watched Michael.
And the latter just shook his head and ignored them as he just went on his business of cooking food for dinner.
He placed the chopping before him and then took out the carrots and potatoes from his [Storage] and started peeling them, before cutting them into chunks.
Then he took out a couple of meat from a monster called Dire Bull, which he had killed many times before during his time in Sunrise Empire.
He sliced them into chunks before putting them inside the pot with water, and then he took two identical "Y" shaped tree branches and stuck them on both sides of the campfire.
He cooked them for a good ten minutes before transferring the chunks of beef on the chopping board and started cooking the carrots and potatoes in the same pot after putting some seasoning on it.
A few minutes later, the beef stew was done.
And this time, he now has a crowd of people looking at him with salivating mouths as they stared at the pot of beef stew after they smelled the delicious smell of what Michael is cooking a couple of minutes ago, especially the two kids earlier, where Michael slowly got to know them as they sat around the campfire, watching and waiting for the food to be cooked.
One of them is a nine-year-old blue-haired girl called Mara, and her six-year-old blonde-haired little brother called Ant.
Both of them are orphans that Old Buck is taking care of, and speaking of Old Buck, he is currently sitting on a stool just a meter away from Michael, waiting for the food...to be done.
Aside from Snow Village, there were also two other villages aside from the former, but they were burnt down after a group of monsters discovered them, and Mara along with her brother is one of the few survivors who were able to take refuge in this village after their escape from the disaster that destroyed their village and killed their parents who protected them on the way here, leaving them as orphans.
Michael looked at the people around him and thought, 'Good thing, I made a lot or else I wouldn't have dinner tonight with this many people'
"Let's eat?"
"Yay!"
Michael turned towards the two siblings, and the two kids quickly raised their hands in excitement as they stretched out their bowls towards Michael.
Michael filled their bowls plenty and gave Old Buck his own share, and then he turned towards the people around him who are looking at the two kids and Old Buck with envious gazes as they swallowed hard.
"Get your own bowls. I'm pretty sure you guys are already famished while waiting" Michael said with a laugh, which made the people chuckle with embarrassment, but their embarrassment didn't last long as they quickly went to get their own bowls from their own homes and came before Michael, and surprisingly for him, these villagers actually stood in line and patiently waited for their turn.
"Thank you so much!"
"This is so good! I've never had meat for so long already!"
"MEAT! No more vegetables tonight!"
The people who had already gotten their share started exclaiming in delight after they tasted the beef stew, even Michael was surprised that the food turned out great when his Cooking Skill is only at Level 1 at most.
Then Michael turned around and saw a familiar face before him, and the man coughed with embarrassment when he noticed Michael staring at him and said, "I gotta say, you're actually not that bad"
Michael scoffed with a laughed and gave Carter and his pregnant wife their portion, "Now, get a move on"
Carter gave his thanks and quickly made his way towards his pregnant wife who is already waiting for him at the front of their home.
"May! I told you to wait for me inside, you didn't need to come out" Carter looked at his wife with a stern look on his face.
His wife, May just smiled and said, "Come on, I was just excited because we hadn't had meat for almost a year now, and who would have thought it would come from an Outlander of all people?"
Michael on the other hand already knew that the people here refer to him as an Outlander.
A person who came from beyond Everwinter.

"EEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK!" 
Myra's scream can be heard from at least a block away. But who can blame her? When Santos launches her into the air, he doesn't hold back. She lands in the water with a splash and comes back up giggling.
Lina's up next. She's even more funny because she's the exact opposite of Myra. When Santos throws Lina into the air, her eyes get huge and her mouth opens wide, but no sound comes out. At all. She's literally scared silent. It's hilarious.
Theo's turn. Santos doesn't throw him nearly as high, thank goodness. But that doesn't keep Theo thinking he's just as cool as his sisters. His deep voice comes out more like a "Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh" than a scream. My boy still hasn't figured out how to baby giggle. Being almost two, I'm pretty sure that ship has sailed.
The whistles sound and the lifeguards all yell, "Adult swim!" to the chagrin of all the kids in the pool. Not that there are many. Just ours and a few others.
Santos quickly plucks our brood out of the water, and they take off for the baby pool, which means I have to spin my lounge chair around to monitor them. It's only twelve inches deep, but stranger things have happened than a child drowning in a puddle.
Suddenly, I'm being showered with cold droplets.
"Eek!" I squeal, knowing exactly who's doing it. "Quit it, Santos. You're getting my Kindle wet," I say with a laugh.
He comes around my chair, gives me a quick smooch on the lips and settles in the lounge chair next to mine.
"I thought you needed to cool off." He's not fooling anyone and he knows it. "You were looking kind of hot over here." He waggles his eyebrows at me, and I roll my eyes and grin at him. "I'm digging that bathing suit."
"It's a one-piece."
"It looks hot on you."
"You think any bathing suit looks hot on me."
"What can I say," he shrugs, "I just think you're hot in general."
Since the kids and I moved into the house a month ago, Santos has been over every day. He hasn't just spent time with them, he's spent time with me, and I can see huge changes, not only in our relationship, but in him as a person.
He's always been confident and self-assured, but in a weird way, it almost comes off more genuine now. Like he was pretending to be cocky before the fall out, but now he really does believe in himself.
It's a subtle shift and I'm sure most people who know him can't tell the difference, but I can. And I like it. It makes me feel confident that we have a real future as a family, which is the only reason I have enough lady balls to bring up a certain conversation.
"How's the apartment working out?" I ask him, as we watch the kids playing in the small fountain shooting out from the middle of the baby pool. They have so much fun every time we come here. "Did the maintenance guy finally fix that leak under your sink?"
"Nope. I've talked to him twice and left three messages now. I'm pretty sure he's avoiding me."
I crinkle my nose at the thought of him emptying out the bucket under his sink several times a day. "Isn't it illegal to not fix something like that?"
"Probably," he admits, wiping the sweat off his forehead with his forearm. I glance down at his abs. Even after quitting soccer, he's still maintaining his physique. Sure, he's gotten more soft in the middle and has more of a "dad bod", but he still runs every morning and I know he goes to the gym a few times a week. Besides, the dad bod is all the rage. Looking at him now, I can see why. "But I live month-to-month in an efficiency apartment for almost nothing. You get what you pay for, ya know?"
I nod and look back up at the kids, gathering my courage. Last time I dropped a bombshell, I did it in therapy. I don't feel like I need Justin as a buffer anymore, but that doesn't mean I'm not nervous.
"So I've been thinking," I say, not daring to take my eyes off the kids while I spill my guts. I'm too nervous about his reaction. "The girls share a bedroom so there's an empty one right now. And you're always at the house anyway spending time with all of us, which we all love. Especially the kids. Well, and your work is just down the street…"
I'm trying to make sense, but I know I'm rambling. I'm so nervous. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Santos swivel so he's facing me completely, but I still can't look at him. I just keep jabbering.
"I mean, we're dating and we have kids together and people do it all the time. We still have the same last name and everything…."
"Mari," he tries to interrupt me, but I can't seem to stop talking.
"…and my mom won't be thrilled but people do this all the time and eventually the mothers get over it…"
"Mariana," he blurts out more forcefully and I clamp my mouth shut. "Spit it out, baby. What are you trying to say?"
I take a deep breath and turn to look at him. "I miss you. I miss waking up to you in the morning and going to bed with you at night. You are still the same man I was married to, but somehow, different. You've made these massive changes and… well, we're still building trust and all. But I want us to be a full-time family again."
His breath hitches.
"I'm not ready for us to be in the same room again, or anything. That much physical…" I pause as I gather my thoughts some more. "I'm not ready for that yet."
He nods frantically, tears glistening in his eyes.
"But I'm asking if you want to move into the guest room so you can live with me. With us."
He drops his head between his arms, his shoulders shaking. We sit there silently as he's overcome with emotion. I know this is what he wants more than anything. It's what I want more than anything, too.
It's funny how everything had to completely fall apart, our family had to hit rock bottom, just so we could figure out how to pull things back together.
Finally, he looks up, sniffs, and wipes his eyes. "I know we have a lot of work to do, and I'm committed to that. But I love you, I love our family more than anything in this world. Yes. Yes, I will move in with you."
He leans over, grabs my face and kisses me, hard. I run my fingers into his hair and grab on, holding him tight to me without our bodies even touching.
As he slips his tongue in my mouth, he tastes of chlorine, and sun, and Santos. And in some weird way, he tastes of happiness.
It's exactly what I've been waiting for since we said "I do" all those years ago.

A Kindle Fire is actually a really great tablet. I owned "one" quite a few years ago and for some odd reason it always seemed to break whenever it was nearing the end of it's warranty. The warranty on it was for a year and each time it broke, they just sent a new one with a renewed warranty. They also always included a new charger. 

The name of the Kindle actually got updated each time it was replaced to (Name)'s 2nd/3rd/4th/... Kindel Fire. 

Kindle Fire: Very durable, very affordable, very useful and practical, the best warranty you could wish for

I had mine 9 years ago, but I'd still consider it a good option. In the span of ~3/4 years I think I ended up on a 5th Kindle.
