She wore black skinny jeans, silk dress shirt that she left the two buttons open. Her hair was flowing wildly that she half-ass tried to clamp in a small pearl studded hair clamp. She was wearing a bloody Mac lipstick called 'Orgasm'. 
She has a small suitcase that she was planning to be her hand-carry luggage if only it wasn't as heavy as a brick for she has shoved everything she could fit inside the said luggage. She has a black backpack with her notebook computer, kindle, her phone, and its charger. 
She was having an early dinner at a hotel about twenty-five minutes away from the airport without traffic - which would never happen for traffic is a normal occurrence in this country. She checked in around one o'clock, and even though finally she has a real bed, beaconing her for a rest. She put on her bikini and made her way to the pool area. 
It wasn't because she wanted to go for a swim - far from that. She simply wanted the shadow that has been following her since she left the hospital to report back to her mother that she was just chilling on a hotel pool. Never mind that the hotel she was in is a few minutes away from the airport. 
Just like what she said to Andrei, she has no ticket. Her ticket would be purchased at the last minute at the airport. She wanted to confuse her mother into thinking that she would not do something stupid. 
She grabbed a pool towel from one of the hotel assistants that was manning the pool area. She picked a sunbed away from the crowd. Opened the book that she grabbed from the hotel lobby, and was putting her earphone when another hotel assistants came to her to ask her if she wanted anything. 
She glanced at her watch and saw that the time was just quarter to two. "Give me a frozen margarita." 
She opened the book and peeked at the rim of her black sunglasses at the man who was loitering in another sunbed perpendicular from hers. He was easy to spot on because he was wearing black pants, white polo, and leather shoes - shine to perfection.  Who would hang out in a pool area of a five star hotel wearing such an outfit in a pool area?
The man was squirming on the sunbed for he really stood out. Her mother must have a strict order for this man to stay so close with her when she was out in a public area. 
"Ma'am, here's your frozen margarita. Enjoy your drink." The waiter gave her a slight bow upon putting her drink to a small table next to her sunbed. She thanked the waiter and went back to her book. 
In between drinking and reading a book, she had fallen asleep. She woke up for another hotel assistant moved the pool umbrella next to her to give her more shade. She discreetly checked if her shadow was still around but didn't see the man. 
"Have you seen the suspicious looking guy around?" 
"He was asked to leave the area ma'am for he wasn't wearing the proper attire." 
"I see. Do you happen to know where he went or if you can see him around?" 
The waiter looked around, slowly scanning the area, and said, "No ma'am. Is he bothering you? We can inform the security." the waiter offered. 
"Oh no. I'm fine. Can't I get another glass of frozen margarita?" 
"Yes, ma'am." 
When the waiter left to fetch her another drink she pulled her phone and checked all the airlines that would fly to Japan tonight. There are eight flights available. In which two of them were very much willing to give Andrei favor. The flights were at eight-thirty and eleven in the evening. 
She was thinking that her mother would probably think that if she would leave she would pick the late flight. She couldn't help but chuckled sipping her frozen margarita. If her mother wasn't dead set on marrying her off, she would enjoy this game with her. 
Playing espionage as Andrei called it. She chuckled lightly. She could feel the buzz in her for it was her third margarita and she remembered that she hadn't eaten lunch. Drinking would probably help her fool her mother into believing that she was staying the night at the hotel. She raised her hand to call her server's attention. 
"I would like to order another glass of frozen margarita, but could you tell the barista to make the drink weak?" 
"Yes, ma'am. Would you like something to go with your drinks?" 
He must have noticed that she has been drinking without eating anything. The difference with staying in this kind of hotel was the staff was trained to watch you like a hawk without you knowing it. They kept a close watch on you, in order to anticipate your wants and needs. It would make you feel special that they are on top of things without you asking.
"Thank you. I just want my drink. By the way, can you tell me if that suspicious looking man was still around?"
"He was in the hotel lobby, ma'am."
My room is on the 22nd floor; what is the best way to get there without running into that man?" 
A waiter gave her a serious look and said in a formal tone, like she was ordering another glass of frozen margarita, "Use the elevator from the shower stalls to the gym, located on the twenty-eighth floor." 
"I'm ready for my next glass of margarita, please." 
"Yes, ma'am. Right away, ma'am." 
She picked up her phone and sent a message to someone at the airline that she would be on the flight at eight-thirty. 
She didn't wait that long for her to get a reply. 
She grinned thinking that if she drank enough the man would drop his alertness and she might be able to board the plane quietly.

"What the fuck did you send over, Nicky?" Laurie is screaming over the phone at six fucking  o'clock in the morning.

"It has a note. And I believe that the message was clear." the name Nicky answered.

"Well that's exactly, why I am asking!"  she exclaimed angrily, glaring at the innocently looking red leather pill box, that is instantly recognizable as a famous jewelry brand, sitting on her kitchen counter, with a note that says - I heard you cry over a guy, here's a small gift to let you know that I'd marry you anytime.

With the familiar scrawling penmanship in the white piece of paper, she would know who sent her the note, even without calling the guy on the phone.

Gu Jun pressed for more details about this legend but there was nothing more Peacock could give, the rest had already lost in the river of time. He thus turned inwardly, 'Why would Dirty-minded Yu fail to wake up? Or is this another exaggeration of this story? Could the broken heart refer to cardiac arrest? But Dirty-minded Yu does not have any heart problems as far as I know… Depression? With my understanding of that girl, she is not the type that will be defeated that easily. Her heart is not that easily broken… Wait, permanent slumber…' A shiver coursed through his body, 'Yes, dream, she must have entered the Dreamlands.'
"Dirty-minded Jun? Dirty-minded Jun? They say you're dead, and they're reading your will. Now is the time to correct them for their mistake." Gu Jun remembered that he appeared to have heard this proclamation from Wu Siyu when his mind was still in a chaotic state. If that was truly her voice, then this girl had… a seemingly different understanding of his 'death' compared to the other person. Obviously Phecda must have mastered some kind of method to send people mentally into the Dreamlands or else Elder Tong and the rest would not have shown up during their fight with the House of Nightmare. Dirty-minded Yu would have insisted on returning to the Dreamlands to come looking for him, probably needing to see his actual body to accept the truth that he had died. She might not be able to enter the Dreamlands physically but she could do so mentally.
With her talent in parapsychology, she might fail the first few times, but eventually she would succeed. However, should any accident happen to her mental projection when she was inside the Dreamlands, then it would confirm the legend that she 'succumbed to eternal slumber'. The more Gu Jun thought about it, the more worried he became. He really did not want any tragedy to befall her. Furthermore, it was he who placed that survivor's guilt on Siyu, depriving her of her usual indifference to everything… Based on the legend, something bad would happen to her soon. 
The Golden Era, the era of collapse, just when did they happen? What year was it? How long did they last? Enquire he did, but Peacock shook her head in response. There were too many variations in the stories, they ranged to a few years to several hundred years. Realizing he was not going to get any more details about the old world, he decided to ignore it for now and had Peacock continue her story about the ten thousand kindles at the Plateau of Leng… 
These stories were closer to the current timeline so Peacock's retelling of them was much more detailed and believable. However for Gu Jun, it was completely unfamiliar, he had a hard time even memorizing those strange, long, unfamiliar names of locations. But he tried his best to pay attention to look for possible clues. In the end though, it was all a haze for him. 
"Mr. Nightmare Man, that is about everything." Peacock concluded, her voice was getting dry from the long story. 
"What is your rank within your tribe?" Gu Jun asked, "How much confidential information do you know?" It did not mean that Gu Jun thought she was lying, perhaps she was being lied to in the first place. Peacock was slightly startled but she understood the man's suspicion. She replied with pride, "Both Malachite and myself are 'Phecda Warriors' of the tribe, we know more than enough. But in our tribe, the most knowledgeable tribesmen are the 'professors'." 
"Oh?" Gu Jun's brows pleated. Looks like the Professors had become priests in this world. Gu Jun personally did not believe youngsters like Peacock would know all the historical details, there might be some secrets and truths that were only inherited by the central key person of the tribe. Information that would not benefit the rest of the tribe should they know about it. Information that would shatter their belief and cause disparity. Perhaps some of the Professors knew that Gu Jun had not said any of these things before, but like Peacock said, those words had become their spiritual guide, so it did not matter whether they truly came from his lips anymore. If he had the chance, Gu Jun would have to ask for more details from these professors. 
"Venerated sirs, our people's survival is now hanging on the line!" Peacock turned to nightmare man and then Atal, pleading sincerely, "We need The Pnakotic Manuscripts, without its power, we will not be able to survive the invasion by the Ossarians." 
"Aiz." Atal sighed evenly, his wrinkled face was as calm as ever. "Should you wish to discuss the learning of the Seven Cryptical Books of Hsan with me, then I will be more than happy to share my knowledge with you, but the Pnakotic Manuscripts is just a ridiculous rumors among the people, it's only a waste of time for you to have come here." 
"Venerated Elder." Peacock's face fell as she went down on her knees. "It is different this time, our people are waiting for us to return to save them!" 
Malachite followed suit. His jaw was tight with emotion. "Elder Atal, we've spent 30 years building up everything that we are, why can't you just lend us a hand?" 30 years ago, they were still unborn. If the tribe had grown strong by then, their childhood would not have been so grey, and their teenhood would not have been so difficult. They did not wish for their future generation to suffer the same fate as they did… That was if their people could survive the imminent genocide.
In their crisis, they would have to return with the miracle cure and tome just like the Phecda Hero and the Goddess of Hope did so that the kindle could continue to burn.
"Please don't be like this." Atal sighed as he turned his eyes away. "I did hear of the Pnakotic Manuscripts when I studied with Barzai the Wise. According to legend, the book is buried deep inside a library inside one of the ruined cities at Frozen Lomar. I'm sure you have noticed the problem already. This is just a legend, a copycat of those other legends about some kind of treasure inside a sunken city at the bottom of the ocean. Even if the book does exist, it is not here." Atal shrugged, "Like I said, feel free to rummage through the temple and the tower if you do not believe me."
Gu Jun glanced at the kneeling duo and he could feel their complicated emotions… He seemed to have seen shadows of his own self on the days before he departed for Wrangel Island. 
"Peacock and Malachite, do you mind leaving us for now?" he began, "I wish to have a private conversation with Mr. Atal for a moment."
"Okay…" Peacock could not read any expression due to the white mask but she knew it was unwise to go against the Nightmare Man. Furthermore, it sounded like the Nightmare Man was going to help them… or was that her wishful thinking? She did not dare to have her hopes up but she did pull Malachite up to leave. "Mr. Nightmare Man, we are of the same kin, that will never change no matter what."
After the two left, Gu Jun turned to the old man on the ivory stage and said directly, "Barzai the Wise has me come here to take a look at the Pnakotic Manuscripts, he said that he has already passed on the book to you. It is indeed not in the tower because it is in your mind."
"Ah." Atal's weathered face shifted as he moved his slightly overweight body around, "But…"
"Mr. Atal, there is no need to deny it." Gu Jun pressed. "I need to see this Pnakotic Manuscripts."

Duke Kindle sat beside his son's bed watching over him as he had since the Adventurer's Ball ended.  Reaching out he stroked his son's hair whispering to him reassuring words.  How soon the one that hurt him would suffer and then die.  How vengeance would be his and everything right with the world once again.  He talked to his son softly of the horrors that bad Twilight King would suffer,  still his son only stared blankly at the ceiling.  Reaching for a pitcher of water he frowned as the glass beside it vibrated hard enough to walk across the bedside table.  His son's blood shot eyes went wide and his mouth opened in a silent scream before their world ended.

Duke Kindle pushed himself up to check on his son as he coughed and choked on dust.  Debris covered the room and there was the crash of wooden beams giving out.  From the rubble filled mass that had been the other side of the room he spotted a figure standing in the dust.  "What happened? My house collapsed? Impossible what is going…"  His voice trailed off as the figure stepped forward becoming visible even through the dust choked air.  "NO!"

Sele was most of the way back to her guild when she felt it.  The slight trembling through the energy flow of the world became a violent shaking.  Turning to the south west she sensed something approaching impossibly fast even if her eyes couldn't yet detect it.  "What is this? Have the Demon Lords finally started making a move? This power... '' Gathering up her robes she started sprinting not back to her guild but towards the Adventurer's Guild and Dinn.

Dinn splashed liquor all across the counter as he tried to pour a glass.  The itch he still couldn't scratch became a savage gnawing sensation that worked its way along his spine.  "The hell is going on?"  He looked to the south west headless of the expensive booze spilling out on the counter before dropping the bottle as he rushed to his personal armory.

When Sele burst in he was still pulling on him ruby red armor. "Help me get into…" he was interrupted by an explosion that shook the ground.  "Shit! Help me, quick."  Dinn was still cinching straps to his armor as he left calling for everyone available in the adventurer's guild to follow him. 

"I sent a message to my own guild.  I don't know what is happening. It feels like one of the upper demon lords is attacking.  Inrag maybe… I'm not sure." Sele spoke to the commander of the town guard as he let her know something had crashed down on the dukes manor.  'It couldn't be the boy.  Even he didn't possess power like this.'

Dozens of adventurers were joined by several score town's guards as well as a group of mages from Sele's guild.  Aarun and Avi were there to accompany their grandmother into battle against whatever this new threat was.  As a loosely organized mass of individuals they charged across town avoiding the throngs of panicked citizens.  They pulled in more troops as they went charging across the huge expanse of manicured lawn surrounding the dukes manor. 

When they made it to the front entrance everyone could see dust still billowing out of the ruined section of the manor.  "No fires that is good right?" One of the adventurers asked his nearby guild master.  Dinn just stared at the main door, the strange gnawing sensation running up and down his spine now felt like something was feasting on his back bone.  Sweat rolled down Sele's brow as she too looked at the doorway, sensing something terrifying on the other side. 

With only a slight creak the door opened slowly, not torn from its hinges or blown out as many expected.  Just a slow casual opening to let a man step out.  Inky black chains wrapped around his silver fur covered arms and dust drifted free of his green lizard-like armor.  Sael stepped out to stand at the top of the stairs just outside the manor, his dark wings on full display.  Behind him he drug two figures bound in the dark chains that hung down from the mass wrapped around each arm.       

"In the nine realms! Sael what are you doing? .... Let the Duke and his son go.  We can talk about this right? How about a drink. You know I got a few skills I was holding out for later I could still show you."  Dinn's lips felt dry as he forced himself to smile.  Somewhere deep down he'd been worried the strange happenings had involved him, but even in his wildest dreams he hadn't expected this.

"She's Dead."  Dinn's heart skipped a beat and sank.  Sael's voice sounded unnatural as if it shook the very air when he spoke.  He was also afraid he knew who She might be, or at least knew one of four people. 

"Sael my friend.  You don't want to do this.  Let them go and I will make sure justice is done.  You don't want to go down this path."  Dinn held up his empty hands and took one tiny step forward trying to calm the unstable man.

With a sudden jerk of his right hand he snapped the chains bringing the duke's son flying forward for him to catch.  "What path is that Dinn?"  He raised the twitching and seizing young man up so Dinn could see.

"Look Sael… If you do this… It could mean war.  You're strong.  But, You don't want a war against us."  Stopping his advance he whispered back to Sele. "Well?"

The dark skinned mage shifted slightly closer to whisper back to him.  "He's virtually out of mana.  But… His physical power…." In her sight Sael had but a faint flickering of violet light around him but the pillar of crimson energy that represented his physical power towered into the sky above him.  "... It's doubled…. Tripled. Maybe more. I… This shouldn't be possible."

Sael looked from Dinn to the Duke's son before shaking his head. "You are wrong Dinn."  He hurled the duke's son forward before the chains grew blades and erupted into motion.  Blood and gore splashed down on the ground all that remained of the once arrogant fighter. "You don't want a war against me." 

Stomping his foot chains erupted from the ground to lash out at anyone too slow to dodge them as his spear appeared in his now free hand.  Pointing his spear upwards a crimson globe of flames appeared.  As the chains dragged people to the ground he whispered "Mana Drain."  and the crimson globe began growing at a terrifying rate.

Dinn drew his blades but stood frozen as the globe of fire reached the size of a small house almost instantly while showing no sign of slowing down.  "Shit, I thought you said he was out of mana!" Sele's magical vision showed her what was happening. The flow of mana as it was stripped from those caught by the chains leading right back to him. 

"The chains! He is stealing their mana through the chains!" Sele turned and pointed her hand at Sael.  A lance of liquid silver formed and streaked out like a silver lightning bolt towards him.  When the attack was a few feet away Sael's eyes flicked down to look at it.  The lance of silver looked as if it was sucked into a tiny dark speck and disappeared.  "What… he's a Spell Eater too?"

Above them a ball of fire like a small crimson sun crackled before shrinking down to the size of a marble hovering just above the point of his spear.  Pointing his spear towards the gathered group of adventurer's the paved stairs shattered and broke apart to be sucked into the super dense marble sized orb of fire.  "Stay out of my way, I have no fight with you."  He was glaring at Dinn and Sele.  Both guild masters were trying to think of a way to deescalate the situation when a group of armed men rushed out from around the side of the manor. 

"Rescue the Duke!" Duke Kindle's elite personal guards were fearless… it was a poor trait for them to possess.  Almost lazily Sael swung his spear to point at them and unleashed the spell Sele herself had taught him. "Star Fall"     

Part of the Duke's Manor, a large swathe of that huge manicured lawn, and what looked to be a good block of the city beyond disappeared in a brilliant burst of light and sound.  When their vision finally cleared the gathered adventurer's and guardsmen stared in horror at the molten chasm left by the attack.  Looking around neither Dinn nor Sele could find Sael or the Duke.

Ara and Nee did their best to clean up Beth's body.  Ara also helped poor Gregory who had been beaten nearly to death trying to stop the mercenaries once the screaming had started.  After that they sat in silence neither looking at the other.  Both were struggling to maintain their composure at both the loss of a friend and the horrible power seeping into them through their bond with Sael.  "This… sensation, this… power.  Its…" Ara started to speak finally but Nee cut her off.

"I know." Her voice was strained.

Ara began to break down and a sob broke free. "I don't want to end up like Seelie... but I can't abandon him."
"I know." Nee whispered back.

Beside them Silver lay out with her paws covering her head as she whined and whimpered softly before lifting her head suddenly.  Both fairies turned to look at the covered body of their fellow consort.  Shadow spread out around it and the body sank into it as if sinking into water.  All three of them jumped up in panic before a familiar voice sounded out from the pool of shadows.  "Come to me.  Come to your King."

Both fairies looked at one another hesitantly, unsure what they should do but for Silver there was no hesitation.  She leapt up and into the shadow answering her Papa's call.  Both fairies shared one last look before seeing the resolve in the others eyes and moved towards the pool of shadows.

Duke Kindle panted in agony his body twisted into odd angles by the chains that both bound him and pierced through his limbs.  "Kill me you monster! Kill me like you did my son!"     
 
Ara watched from beside the throne as the man writhed in agony her heart a mix of emotions. Both disgust at seeing another being tortured and satisfaction knowing this man caused her friends death. 

Nee was in far less turmoil knowing just what kind of beings human nobility were.  Having witnessed the horrors they caused not only in the past but most recently with Beth's murder.

Silver just paced around the throne and the grotesque spectacle the Duke's twisted form made feeding off the dark emotions from her Papa.

Sael sat on his throne, his face a perfect blank mask.  "Kill you? Why would I be so merciful?  Your suffering ends… when mine does."  Sael leaned back in his throne as the chains slowly began twining through his flesh yet again.

King Belarian was dining with his family when the messenger burst into his hall. "Lord Belarian! Amalor has been attacked! Duke Kindle's son was murdered and the Duke taken hostage."  Shocked the King of all humanity froze in the middle of cutting his steak.

"What? By who?"  His face was a mix of both confusion and rage.

"It appears to have been done by a fairy."  The messenger sounded as shocked as the king looked.

"Little Ke attacked one of my dukes?"  Belarian couldn't imagine the same little fairy that had recently been begging for his help rescuing her daughter would dare attack one of his dukes.

"No my lord.  Apparently it is the new Fairy King.  They call themselves the Twilight King."

For Sael being pulled to another world wasn’t something he minded.  In fact, when he found out he was the only one chosen for the warrior class from those he arrived with he was thrilled.  Until he found out in order to receive all the tasty power-ups that always come with this type of situation he must battle a terrifying monster without any of said tasty powers.  Even in success things aren’t quite going the way he expected.  Still, everyone loves an underdog, including it seems the system powering those brought to this new world. 

On his journey, he will make friends with both other Arrived and the locals.  Find romance often when he isn’t looking for it.  And of course new enemies around every corner from the mindless monsters of the world to the diabolical powers behind everything.  And maybe even find time to unlock the secret of the Arrived, if he lives that long.

Jakob returned to where they should be. Fortress flyers appeared on top of the industrial area. Jakob walked in towards the Mistress. Without asking, they pointed their guns at Jakob. He felt the targeting system locked in. What appeared before him were full-metal geared Aured Guardians. Ready to turn him into shreds within a single mistake.
Displaying his ensign to the Aured Guardians. They radioed for someone and before long Gaul appeared to welcome him. His suit washed by the rain. His hand landed on Jakob's shoulder. Jakob continued walking until he saw the Mistress and Miss Angela guarded within a fence of auto-turrets and anti-air launchers. He didn't retract his helmet. He stood in front of the Mistress and Miss Angela.
"I didn't kill the etherian," Jakob said to them.
Miss Angela's eyes widened in fury. "What is the meaning of that?"
"An etherian that is far stronger than I can handle without proper tools.  Not to mention that she's black hand."
"Black hand?" Angela tilted her head.
"Ask the government why the black hand joined the hunt. Miss Ursula," Jakob said. "You have one hell of a career coming if you don't give up here. But if you continue this path, then there will only be trouble for you. One day you might find yourself alone amid a stadium again."
"Many people died here today. So many were fans who gathered, hoping they could hear my songs. I wonder if they regret coming to my show? I wonder if they died asking why they come to my concert," she held her head. "But then again, I hope that they died in a trance, but their screams remained in my ears. You two protected me well and I doubt that without Haven sending you here and Gaul doing his best that I would still be alive."
Jakob looked at her. She was still young. She had none of that confidence that she cultivated throughout her experiences. One day she will stand in front of an audience comprising those of the world. She will sing at the world's end and burned so brightly that it will ignite the hearts of the crestfallen. Her voice could kindle cowardly hearts. But the Mistress named Ursula Louis would never kindle in her own heart. For she had dedicated it to those who she lost today.  Jakob thought to himself that no matter what he would say, it would mean nothing. People don't change so easily. They don't take words granted in pity, but in anger they respond.
"Your supporters died in a trance. They got their innards spilled on the ground and you think they'd be happy?" Jakob scoffed. "Miss, your fans died screaming, and I used their bodies a shield. I stepped on the bodies and trudge over them to protect solely you. Do you really think saying that would change what happened?"
"Hey!" Angela scolded. "Don't you dare speak like that!"
"So?" Jakob shook his head. "Don't say that they died in some trance. Don't make some petty excuse, as if they died less painful than someone who I killed today. They died today. It's not romantic or tragic. Face it as it was."
Her glare could kill. But Jakob didn't look away. He placed his hand on the hilt of his cutter-vibrant. Gaul stared at Jakon with eyebrows meeting. Angela glared harder than both of them. "You are exactly right." Mistress Ursula said. "But do you really have to say that?"
"I am just saying the truth. They died painfully. I hope you don't shut your heart and dedicate your heart to them. Your song won't reach the dead. These bastards came here to kill you, and that self-pity and delusion would one day kill you. Accept what happened here, Miss. Don't run away from what happened here and think somehow singing more will be a dedication to those who died here. Sing for yourself. Never let the bastards affect you."
"Are you done spouting?" She raised her head and stood up. "I don't know what you are trying to accomplish, but if you were planning to anger me. You've done well. And here I was about to shower you with gratitude! Forget it! I don't need bastards like you who can't see!"
Jakob bowed his head. "I am glad we have an understand. The payment for what happened here will cost you. I signed up to kill etherians. Not as a shield against cultists, fully armed combatants in full-metal gear, and definitely not for anything involving the black hand."
"You'll get paid," Mistress Ursula said with gritted teeth. "Despite what you said, you did still help us greatly."
"I mean what I said." Jakob said. "Don't let this event get you down. You might be a star but you live in the quagmire of this city and if you don't realize that and run away then there's nothing much you can do other than pretend until the very end. See you around Miss Ursula, Gaul, and you too, Angela. I am done here."
Jakob opened his communication line. Helga connected immediately and activated the links to this suit. Her face appeared on the upper left corner of his HUD. She lowered her head down and screen glow lit up her face. She looked directly into the screen and whistled.
"The black hand's after them huh, still, you let that one go."
"I knew you guys were listening and watching. Do you people have this habit?"
"We do not have the habit, but you know that this is just a throwaway.  The Boss is happy seeing these wonderful data coming from the suit's feedback. You got an idea what we will use your data for already, don't you?"
"Your naming senses aren't that hidden. I don't now what is happening, but you really intend to lure me further into this pit you people wander about."
"We know how to scope out potential. You are young, Jakob, very young, but you are already a beast. I'd mistake you for a veteran if it wasn't for your face. Then again, having someone like you working for us would benefit Haven more than it should. How could we not temp you more when you can do something like this?"
Jakob calmly watched the area while the rain poured.
"You're going to let me continue using this suit?"
"The data is optimal and we already have what we need. Besides, I think you might be the only one who can use that well. The suit's symbiotic and it only accepts a single owner. I don't know what they did, but we're giving you a failed prototype suit for data that we can use to improve a better suit. We'll get our Ghosts soon, and even the Black hand would mean nothing to us."
"Is that so?" Jakob squatted over a metal beam. He flattened his palm and let the rain drop on it. "But I think I still have to pay for maintenance."
"The honeymoon is over, baby," Helga smirked. 
"I was expecting this, really." Jakob snorted. He kept his gaze around the area where Mistress Ursula was. She held anger in her face and she walked with a stern gait.
"Still, we used you, but this was two birds using one stone. Not only that your market yourself well with these kinds of result, it will improve our standing and they'll know that we have someone that can kill etherians. You're not the only one can kill etherians, there are many who died after being overwhelmed, but your fight with Dion Bismark and the four etherians you killed to day sets you as someone who can do it. You prove a point and when they look back they will look at Haven who to use when there are matters regarding etherians."
"I am an Outrider first, before I am a Bounty Hunter, Hel," Jakob said. "I'll let you use me, but use me wisely. I might be new, but you better know that I won't easily bend the knee. Don't even think of using Dona with me. In the event anything happens to her, I'll avenge her."
"Please, we don't stoop so low unless it's needed. You won't betray us, and we don't blame you for losing the black hand and letting her go. Your systems are half-frozen that I wonder how you can even stand by yourself without the motor functions of your suit. Return home, I think Dona is getting worried about you."
"Then I am going home," Jakob said. He turned the link off and turned his eyes on the fortress flyer that carried Mistress Ursula away. From the eastern side of the industrial area he saw a flyer heading towards him. Clicking his tongue, he waited for the flyer and watched the destruction he sowed.

He returned back before it all happen. But how can one do that when he alone cannot stop the gears of fate with two hands? How can he prevent the whole of it from collapsing when one is of limited power? How could a man fight a Devil or a Valkyrie? In this world where mankind is trapped in fortified cities connected through underground tunnels. Where the surface is plagued by those who had tasted the ambrosia that came from the Cosmos. Where only those who are blessed are given the chance.

How could anyone hope to change something?  This is the tale of an Outrider, the man who is forced to see the end again.

When the flash of light was gone Cole and Leo saw something amazing. Chloe's scratch marks were gone and she was no longer bleeding. But at the same time something bad happened Crystal was passed out on the floor. Cole and Leo ran up to crystal. They tryed waking her up. Chloe woke up and said " What happened?" Chloe then looked over to see Crystal passed out on the floor. Then Chloe noticed that her scratch marks were gone and she wasn't bleeding anymore. Chloe got up and walked over to crystal. Cole and Leo was worried they were scared because crystal was still passed out. Chloe picked up crystal and told Cole and Leo " Follow me to the medical den." They walked over to the medical den. Kindle the medical wolf said" what happened to her?" Chloe said " I don't quite know but I think the boys could explain." Cole and Leo told Kindle what happened. Kindle and Chloe was shocked to hear what happened. Kindle said " I don't know how to handle this but just let her rest she is probably very drained." Chloe Said " Thanks Kindle we will head back to our den Again thanks for the help."Then Chloe carried crystal back to the den and Cole,leo followed. When they were back at the den Chloe put crystal down to let her rest.Leo asked " mom is something wrong with crystal?" Chloe looked at Leo and said " No dear crystal is just drained from using all that energy to heal me now dear just lay down next to your sister and go to sleep." Leo and Cole layed next to crystal to keep her warm and cuddle up. Chloe was so scared because of the state Crystal was in. Out of no where Crystal began to glow and slowly lift up in the air. Chloe got up and tryed to grab Crystal but she got shocked. Chloe didn't know what to do in that moment. Chloe felt hopeless she was so concerned on what was going on with crystal.But when Chloe was watching Crystal float she noticed something off she couldn't believe it at all. Crystal was changing....

Chapter 44
 I woke up to a noise I looked at the clock, 5:58 AM...ugh, can't I sleep without someone or something disturbing me?
 I sat and rubbed my eyes, I looked out the window and froze in shock, there was a little black, white, and orange-colored cat pressing its paws on the window. It looked so cute and sad.
 I opened the window and the cat jumped in meowing. Aww, it curled up in my arms. I looked at its neck to check for a collar, I pet the little cat, I got up with the cat in my arms, I quietly went to Adam's room, the lights were on, I knocked, Adam yanked open the door, "What?"
 He looked down at what I was holding, "A-a cat? Where did you get it? Can I hold it?"
 I handed him the cat, it opened its eyes meowing, it looked like it was trying to get out of Adam's arms. The cat was rolling around and kicking about.
 Adam handed the cat to me, "So, where did you get him?"
 Him? I lifted it's leg...okay, it is a boy, "He was making noises outside of my window, so I opened it and he jumped in." I scratched behind his ears, he purred and nuzzled my hand, meowing.
 Adam looked down at the cat, "Aww, so cute!"
 I smiled, "So, can we keep him?"
 Adam looked over at me, who will take care of him while we're at school or away on vacation?" He asked while scratching the cat's chin. The cat meowed.
 Aww, I sighed, "Maybe Thomas will agree to take care of it if we beg him?"
 Adam shrugged, "Maybe, we'll ask him later, at a reasonable hour."
 I nodded, "I'm going back to bed then."
 Adam nodded, "Okay, come out when it's time to leave."
 I looked at the cat, "Where do we put this little guy?"
 Adam took him from my arms, "I'll give him a bath, he needs one, heaven knows where he has been."
 Adam proceeded to talk to the cat as if it was a baby, "Oh aren't you just the cutest little thing? Aww, you're so cute. Let's get to the bathroom so we can get you nice and clean."
 I smiled, I walked back into my room. I saw my empty suitcase, whoops, I forgot to pack. I opened my closet and grabbed my clothes. I grabbed my underwear, bandages, shorts, a pair of pants, and shirts.
 I plugged in my Kindle and phone to charge them, I set the alarm to   9:30 AM.
 I crawled back into bed, sighing I fell asleep.
 I woke up a few minutes before the alarm rang, stretching and lying lazily on my bed for a few minutes, I sighed, ping ping, someone was texting me.
 I rolled off the bad and landed on the floor, I dragged myself to my phone, unplugging it, I unlocked it, I pressed the message.
Texting:
Alex: I'm going to come in 20 minutes to puck you and Avery up.
Me: Okay, see you then.
Alex: Yep.
Not texting:
 I put my phone, Kindle, and charger into the suitcase. I got out of my room and found Adam and the cat sitting at the table, the cat was sitting on the table.
 I went to the fridge and got my milk. I grabbed cereal from next to the fridge. I grabbed a bowl and a spoon.
 Reaching out a hand, I scratched under the cat's chin, "Hey there buddy, how are you doing?"
 He meowed and nuzzled my hand before laying down on the table. I poured my milk into the bowl and then put it back in the fridge, "Hey, Adam. We need to think of a name for the little guy."
 Adam was petting the cat, "Hm, yeah we do, we also need to make sure he isn't someone else cat. We should put up a flyer."
 I nodded, pouring in the cereal, "Yeah, but we need to call him something."
 Adam thought for a moment, "How about, Little Buddy?"
 I ate a spoon full of cereal before answering, "Yeah, sure. That works."
 Adam got up and took a picture of Little Buddy, "I'm going to go make the flyer."
 I finished my food and looked at Little Buddy, "Come here, Little Buddy." The cat got up and walked over to me mowed, jumping onto my lap. I pet him gently. He purred, he was so cute.
 A few minutes later, Adam came into the kitchen, holding a few pieces of paper, they were probably flyers, "I'm done, I made 5 flyers."
 He handed one to me.

 I showed it to Little Buddy, "Do you approve of it?" He stared at me lazily, "Meow." I took that as a yes.
 I handed the flyer to Adam, putting Little Buddy on the floor, "Alex says he'll be here in a few minutes to pick us up."
 Adam smiled, "Yippee! Oh, I need to call Thomas and ask him about babysitting the cat."
 I nodded, "I'll put one of the flyers outside while you're doing that."
 After we finished doing that, and Thomas had agreed, I texted Alex to ask him if he could pick up some cat food, a cat food, a cat water bowl, and a cat collar while on the way to pick us up. I promised to pay him back. He said yes, as long as he got to pet the kitty. I, of course, agreed to that.
 A few minutes later Alex arrived here with the cat food and collar. He immediately grabbed Little Buddy and started snuggling him and saying how cute and soft he was.
 When he finally let him go, I put on Little Buddy's collar for him, he meowed and pawed at it, aww, so cute.
 Adam paid him back the money, thanking him for helping us. 
 Alex smiled, "No problem."
 Ding dong, the bell for our apartment rang, Thomas was here to pick up Little Buddy.
 I opened the door, "Hey Thomas, Good morning!"
 He smiled, "Hello, Mi-, cough cough, young master."
 Whoops, I didn't tell him about Alex, "I whispered to him, "Sorry for not telling you."
 He patted my arm, "All is fine. Now, where is the little furball?"
 Alex walked up to Thomas, "Hello, I'm Alex, and here is the little furball named Little Buddy." He handed Thomas Little Buddy.
 Thomas gently took him in his arms, "Hello, I'm Thomas, Avery, and Adam's driver. And now also their cat sitter. I'll take my leave now, nice to meet you, have a nice day, young masters."
 I waved, "Bye Thomas, take care of yourself and Little Buddy."
 He waved back as much as he could, holding a cat and the cat's things.
 Alex said, "Okay if you guys are ready, let's go."
 I nodded, "Okay, I'll get my bags." I paused, "What is your band name? I forgot. I'm so sorry!"
 Alex shrugged, "Meh, it's fine, were called The Mortal Instruments."
 Adam nodded, "Adam? Can you help me with my bags?"
 I sighed, "Yeah, sure."
 We grabbed our bags and Alex helped Adam with one of them while  I carried one of her bags and my own bag.
 We put them in the trunk, we got in the car and Alex told his driver to where to go.
 After a few minutes, we arrived at Alex's house, we got out, "Thank you for the ride."
 Alex ushered us to where the tour bus was at, "Okay, my bandmates are already here, let's got meet them, they want to meet you."
 We walked over to the bus, Alex shouted, "Hey, dudes! My friends are here."
 They guys turned around, "Finally." They walked over to us. 
 The tall guy with blonde hair and green eyes smiled, "Hey there, I'm Wade the bassist, nice to meet you." He held out a hand.
 I looked over at Adam, he looked like he was about to faint, I smiled, I shook his hand, "Hi, I'm Adam Darkwaters, nice to meet you, right next to me, the frozen still person, is my sister Avery Darkwaters." 
 I nudged Adam with my elbow, he snapped out of it, 'Hi! It's nice to meet you!" I smiled.
 Another guy walked up, he was skinny and a little on the short side, he had black hair and brown eyes, "Hi, I'm Ethan, I play the guitar, nice to meet you, Adam, Avery."
 I smiled, "Hi."
 Adam nodded, "Hi, nice to meet you!"
 The last guy walked up to us, he had brown hair and blue eyes, "Hello, I'm Wade the bassist." He held out his hand to me.
 I shook it, "Hi, nice to meet ya."
 Adam nodded, smiling, he seemed to be out of his daze, "Hi, nice to meet you. Big fan of you guys."
 They all smiled, "Good to hear, now let's go, we need to get this show on the road."
 And thus, I met The Mortal Instruments band.

The Weird Life Of Avery Bane is about a young woman who is 13 years old, in her Freshman year of high school. She is attending school at Princeton High in place of Adam Darkwaters (aka her doppelganger). Avery is to switch identities with Adam Darkwaters so she can attend Princeton High in place of Adam Darkwaters, while Adam attends her school, Evergreen High. Avery is to continue Adam's family tradition at Princeton High, where every male of the Darkwaters family, starting from Adam's great-great-grandfather, had to become The Captain of the Martial Arts Club.

A Kindle Fire is actually a really great tablet. I owned "one" quite a few years ago and for some odd reason it always seemed to break whenever it was nearing the end of it's warranty. The warranty on it was for a year and each time it broke, they just sent a new one with a renewed warranty. They also always included a new charger. 

The name of the Kindle actually got updated each time it was replaced to (Name)'s 2nd/3rd/4th/... Kindel Fire.

I had mine 9 years ago, but I'd still consider it a good option. In the span of ~3/4 years I think I ended up on a 5th Kindle.

Han Sen licked his lips complementing on how he would cut the cougar up as he wanted to start cooking it as he was almost salivating at the thought of how delicious it would be.

He realized he would want it cut into decent sized pieces so that it would be faster to clean and cook the meat. So he took out the second dadao he had in his inventory and did the same thing he had done to the first. Apply haki and channel darkflame lightning into it. Seeing his preparation was done he made his move. 

<Soru> 

He appeared in front of the injured creature. His leg spread into a balanced stance, with swords on his left side, tips pointing at the ground. He wanted to make the cut as precise as possible so he decided to use "that move". 

He had discovered that darkflame lighting did no damage to him when he channeled it through he body, so he tried channeling it into his head to see if the lightning would stimulate his brain in anyway special. 

And his effort wasn't for naught, as he got something out of it. 

<Suspended World> 

His skull turned translucent as his the darkflame lightning entered his head illuminating his skull. His perception of the world around him slowed down to the point it seemed time slowed down. He could see the cougars muscles in its back legs tense in slow-mo as it tried to react in time.  

But like everything else so far in this battle it all led to its inevitable death, to be only a good soup in a pot filled with seasoning and cut vegetables. 

<Kamisori>

He seemed to momentarily flicker out of reality before reappearing behind the cougar. The creature itself seemed to be frozen stuck. It was only after a few seconds passed that it's body started to fall apart. 

Before any of the falling cubes of meat could hit the ground Han Sen hands blurred as he made sure to put it all into his inventory before any of it could hit the ground, as that would mean more work. 

Seeing nothing left to put up he took to the skies again. 

<Sky Shave> 

He traveled in the general direction of the Steel Forge Shelter. He didn't want to be disturbed while he was cooking, and he knew the smell of the food would attract a ton of creatures as he would have still been in the Jade Dragon Mountains.

I while later he was falling from the sky, landing lightly on the ground with a small thud. He was only a few minutes away from the Steel Forge Shelter if he used Sky Shave. He didn't go back to his room as he wouldn't had enough room to cook. 

The room was just too small and cramped. So he found a small clearing near the shelter to decide to cook. The clearing itself was surrounded by trees and underbrush. Which he quickly cut down with a few swings of his dadaos. 

He put the cut down underbrush aside to be used as kindle and cut some of the trees he fell into logs to make a fire. And he used the rest to make a makeshift table to clean and cut the meat, along with the vegetables he had in his inventory. 

After the table was made he pulled out a set of knives all made out of Z-alloy. Ranging from a carving knife, a cleaver, and a few others. 

If others saw this they would most likely go insane on how wasteful it was to craft them out of Z-steel. But he would beg to differ as they cost him nothing. 

Before his dad faked his death he owned a company that produced Z-steel. So he had made of few things from Z-steel before his father disappeared. His swords, his kitchen knives, pots, pans and a few small things here and there just because he didn't have to pay for any of it.

He took out all the meat he had. From the cubes of the previous sacred-blooded creature, to the ordinary and primitive creatures he ended up murdering on his walk in the mountains.

He originally thought to take a pot out to put it all in but seeing how much meat he had to cook he threw that idea out his head. So he pulled out a cauldron instead and set it aside. 

He started making a large fire pit. He dug into the ground and placed rocks at the bottom. Next was the underbrush to work as the kindle. Then he stacked the logs against each other. 

<Finger Gun: Darkflame Lightning> 

He shot a bullet infused with his special flame into the pit, instantly igniting the the kindle ablaze. Making the  dark fire slowly spread to the logs. He waiting a moment until the fire was fully alit and then put the cauldron on top of the hole, leaving only a little room for air to come in. 

He took out a few big containers of waters and poured it all in the cauldron and didn't add anything until the water started to broil. He then began dumping everything he had and dumped it into the boiling water and left it alone. 

He then dragged another log he downed and used it as a sit. Pulled out a pack of Schwarzwald cigarettes, took one out and lit up with flame channeled through its finger. 

After it was lit, he took a deep of cigarette and began to relax as he waited for the food to finish.

While Han Sen was having a cigarette break, a group of people could be seen making their way back to the shelter. In the lead was a young woman who had a strict air around her that seemed to demand respect. 

She had smooth pale skin, with amber eyes  and brunette hair. She would be considered beautiful to any man to look at her but few would have the balls to say it to her face. 

Her name was Qin Xuan and beside her was Yang Manli. Who was her right hand woman. She could be considered extremely beautiful but just like her boss, the cold demeanor she had scared off most that tried to get too close. 

They were coming back from a successful expedition. It was a group of two-tailed monkeys that consisted ordinary, primitive, and a few mutant creatures. And though it was successful it was still a tiring endeavor to to so. 

The monkeys were at an advantage as they were always able to retreat into the trees to fall back. It took them to tank the attack while guarding the archers trying to pick them off. 

Qin Xuan herself had to take on half of the mutant two-tailed monkeys as the rest of her squad couldn't do it alone. But opted to overwhelm the other half of the mutant two-tailed monkeys with archers at range and besieging them up close at the same time. 

So while it was a victory, the whole group was still somewhat exhausted to an extent, still on edge in case any attacks from random creatures on the way back. 

And with it slowly getting darker they were naturally startled when they heard loud booms in the distance.
