Oli looked up and was surprised to see that he wasn’t alone. “Netra, what are you doing here? This is supposed to be a private room.”

“It was a good fight.” That was the only response Netra could think of.

“What did you really want to talk about? Was it my dark essence?” Oli didn’t want to waste any time at the given moment. “You already figured me out, so what else is there to talk about? I’m still not going to admit having it to anyone else, so please don’t tell anyone, okay?”

"Excuse me, could you help me with the computer?"
A white-haired woman in a blue jean skirt and pink cardigan pulled me from my philosophic musings. I took a deep breath. Computer help always felt like Russian Roulette. At the library, people with various levels of computer literacy come in, and it can be difficult explaining to someone why the internet is running slowly or why their email needs to be verified. Sometimes, if it were a technical problem, people looked at me with an expression of "Why don't you have the entire computer manual memorized?"
"Sure, how can I help?" 
"Well, I need to pay my water bill today, and they said I could pay it online, but I'm not too good with computers."
"Let's take a look," I said, standing up. She led me over to her station. Our library had about fifteen public computers. Some people were surfing Facebook and Twitter; others were filling out job applications or working on resumes. Amanda, our patron with Down Syndrome, was carefully researching the latest movies on IMDB to find something to check out next. She made some notes in a small spiral notebook. 
"Oh hi Ariel," said Amanda. "How do you spell werewolf?" 
"W-E-R-E-W-O-L-F," I responded. 
Amanda typed as I spelled; An American Werewolf in Paris appeared on her screen.
"Thanks," she said.
The older woman sat down at the computer. She tried typing in her login information on the bill payment site. 
Computer: Incorrect Password. 
She frowned. "Now, what was my password? They make you create so many darn passwords, nowadays, I can't hardly keep up!" She tried typing in her password again. 
Computer: Incorrect Password. 
 "Ok, let's go ahead and re-set your password," I said. It was the third password I had to reset that day. "Click on that, where it says, "Forgot Password?"
"Where?"
"Down there, at the bottom of the screen." I pointed.
 Patron: "Oh, I see it now." She clicked the link and typed in her email. 
Computer: A reset link has been sent to your email account.
Me: "Ok, so now we just need to login to your email."
Patron: "Oh, where do I go for that?"
Me: "Um, what email service do you use? Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail…?"
Patron: "My email is blahblahblah@gmail.com"
Me: "Ok, then we go to gmail."
Patron: "Where do I type that in?"
Me: "In the address bar at the top of the screen." *Points*
Patron: *taps out gmail address*
Computer: Loading gmail
Patron: "Thank you very much for helping me. My daughter insists that I get one of these new-fangled phones--" *Waves smart phone like magic wand* "and I have to pay my bill by today."
Me: Oh lord, please let this be over soon. "No problem!" Bright, cheery tone and a plastic smile on my face.
Computer: Login to Gmail.
Me: "Ok, now go ahead and login to your email."
Patron: *Squints at computer* "Where do I do that?"
Me: "Click on where it says, "Login."
Patron: *clicks* "Do I have to type out the whole thing or just my name?"

Me: *Silently screams* "Ok, it looks like we have to reset your email password. Go ahead and click, "Forgot Password…?"
Forty-three steps and two reset passwords later, the phone bill is paid, and I want a pint of chocolate ice cream.
Before I made the decision to take off my clothes for money, I worked at a medium-sized library in a mid-sized city in Dallas. As my first library job, I was so happy to be in a place that valued literacy and reading, as opposed to the strictly financial, bureaucratic world of banking. The library was divided into two main sections: upstairs, which held the children's area, adult fiction, computer area, and check-out desk; and downstairs, which was dedicated to non-fiction books and held a few study rooms. The downstairs part was what people typically think a library is"the quiet area," for studying and reading and such. 
I worked mainly at the reference desk, answering questions or helping people find information as best I could. For simple questions that can be Googled (that pre-internet would have taken an encyclopedia, almanac, or directory to answer), librarians call these "Ready Reference" queries. Sometimes I would get phone calls from people asking for the phone number of the nearest medical clinic, or the address of one store or another. 
There was one elderly lady (fondly known to the library staff as "Movie Lady") who would call and ask for the mailing address of retro movie stars, so she could write fan mail. She would also ask very specific questions about random films or TV commercials like, "Do you remember the commercial for the Friskey's cat food in 1995? What was the name of the cat they used?" or: "What was the title of the music composition from the 1980s horror movie where they had the girl chained up in the basement?" In essence, people ask questions that range from the easily-answered to the bizarrely-obscure. 
More complex questions may require cross-references and a significant more time to answer, such as, "What was the role of the Book of the Dead in ancient Egyptian religion?" or "What are the current theories of cognitive behavior therapy?" or "What is the average air speed velocity of an African swallow?" I LOVED reference queries, because they were intellectually stimulating challenges. Each question was like a small treasure hunt. Working the reference desk meant learning something new and exploring new ways to find an answer as efficiently and precisely as possible. Most people who journeyed downstairs into the reference section were students who needed a quiet place to study or people with relatively simple questions like, "Where are the cookbooks?" or "Do you have any car repair manuals?" However, there was the occasional challenge, such as helping people with the microfilm machine to look up newspapers from the 1840s or tracking down a legal definition. 
When I wasn't at the reference desk, I had "personal projects," assigned by the head librarian, and these consisted mostly of weeding and processing books for withdrawal from the library. Once the librarian had made a list of all the books that were too old, dirty, or outdated (or those that simply hadn't been checked out in at least two years) I would track down each title off the rows and rows of shelves, pull it and place it on a cart, then "process" them for withdrawal. This involved marking out the library's barcode with a sharpie and stamping the books twice with the "Withdrawn" stamp.
There were other various tasks, like shelving the books or shelf-reading, which is literally going through the stacks to make sure every book is in its correct place, by reading the call numbers. (It's not as boring as it sounds, and it can be quite therapeutic for clearing one's mind.) 
Other than that, I helped kids with their homework, showed people how to download books onto their Kindle, gave reading recommendations, helped people navigate the genealogy database, and anything any other menial task that assisted and supported the full-time librarians. 
Going to the library was one of my favorite activities growing up. I loved the dusty smell of thousands of books, the quiet hum of energy throughout, and the sense that the library was somehow a sacred space. The idea that there was a place you could go and take ten or twenty books without paying for them was magical. Here was a land where there were hidden treasures, mysteries, and fantastic stories of dragons, mermaids, or pirates; a land where kind people would help you with any question you could possibly think of. Any time I came to work, I was in my favorite place in the world.

I spend the majority of my time in the library, even with my eidetic memory it will take at least two years to memorise all these books. But it's only Hogwarts common library. 
House Ravenclaw has the biggest library in Hogwarts. But this library is only open to students of their own house. 
I need to speed up the process of studying all the books in the library by the end of the first year. There are a lot of things to learn, I need to do it quickly and move on to the experiment parts.
 After my talk in potion class, Hermione came around the library. We just talked and discussed a few things about first-year books, which is mostly I'm explaining the things that she didn't understand.
 I know she doesn't consider me a friend yet, I still got a month before trying to improve my relationship with her.
 After finishing my time in the library, I arrived at the great hall for dinner. It seems Harry is bragging about his selection in Gryffindor's quidditch team to Ron. I overheard their conversation,
 "You're joking."  Ron had a piece of steak and kidney pie halfway to his mouth, but he'd forgotten all about it.
 "Seeker?" He said. "But first years never -- you must be the youngest house player in about a century", said Ron, shovelling a pie into his mouth.
 "I start training next week," said Harry. "Only don't tell anyone, Wood wants to keep it a secret."
 "Having the last meal, Potter? When are you getting the train back to the Muggles?" Malfoy mocked Harry.
 "You're a lot braver now that you're back on the ground and you've got your little friends with you," said Harry coolly.
 "I'd take you on anytime on my own," said Malfoy. "Tonight, if you want. Wizard's duel. Wands only -- no contact. What's the matter? Never heard of a wizard's duel before, I suppose?"
 "Of course he has," said Ron, Wheeling around. "I'm his second, who's yours?"
 Malfoy looked at Crabbe and Goyle, sizing them up.
 "Crabbe," he said. "Midnight all right? We'll meet you in the trophy room; that's always unlocked."
 When Malfoy had gone, Ron and Harry looked at each other. "What is a wizard's duel?" Said, Harry. "And what do you mean, you're my second?"
 
"Well, a second's there to take over if you die," said Ron casually. Catching the look on Harry's face, he added quickly, "But people only die in proper duels, you know, with real wizards. The most you and Malfoy will be able to do is send sparks at each other. Neither of you knows enough magic to do any real damage. I bet he expected you to refuse, anyway."
 "Excuse me." They both looked up. It was Hermione Granger.
 "Can't a person eat in peace in this place?" Said Ron.
 Hermione ignored him and spoke to Harry.  "I couldn't help overhearing what you and Malfoy were saying and you mustn't go wandering around the school at night, think of the points you'll lose Gryffindor if you're caught, and you're bound to be. It's really very selfish of you."
 
"And it's really none of your business," snarled Harry.
 "Good-bye,". Both of them left Hermione on the table.
 
It seems the plot already started when Draco challenged Harry and Ron to a duel, at midnight.
 Hermione will also tag along with them to the duel. When they arrive at the appointed place, they will realise Draco bailed on them.
 Flinch who is on the night routine check will find students roaming outside the hall after the allotted time.
 To escape from the flinch they run into the third floor, but only to find a three-headed dog in the room guarding something, which will kindle the curiosity of these three to find out what is the dog guarding behind the door.
 I don't need to do anything, the plot will progress on its own. But the philosopher's stone, it will get destroyed in the end, or at least that's what Dumbledore mentions at the end.
 But there's no fucking way I believe dumbledore's lie. Philosopher stone said to grant immortality or some form of immortality.
 
Nicolas Flamel who used philosopher stone to live nearly six centuries, so the stone can extend the life of the user. And Dumbledore is on his deathbed, there's no way I believe he just destroyed the stone without trying to use it on him.
 I think the stone got destroyed in the process of his experiment. But if he wanted the stone, why did he display it on the Hogwarts?. That's where the experience of the dumbledores come to play.
  
The stone was originally placed in Gringotts, which is known as the safest place of the wizarding world only next to Hogwarts. But when Quirrell, who is possessed by Voldemort soul shards, failed to steal the philosopher's stone, it caused a huge commotion around the wizarding world.
  
Nicolas Flamel, who created the philosopher's stone, stored it in the Gringotts and along with his other treasures. When there was a security breach that occurred in the bank, he withdrew everything he owns from Gringotts for security risk.
 This is when Dumbledore steps in and makes an offer to protect the stone. The stone will be placed in the Hogwarts, which is another the most secure place in the world. Flamel also agrees to the deal, offered by Dumbledore to safely secure the stone in Hogwarts.
  
Dumbledore who acts as pope on the light side, his reputation further solidifies any commotion caused by any people who are in opposition of placing the stones in Hogwarts. After all, he battled two dark loads and won, the wisest among them who lived through centuries, so not many people opposed his decision of placing philosopher stone in Hogwart's third floor.
 
He got the stone in his hand, but he cannot use it as he sees fit. People are watching his actions. After all, who doesn't want immortality? With the help of a few Hogwarts teachers, he makes some traps to protect the stone.
 These traps are so deadly, which can be easily broken by students. Even first-year students can do it. He announces it, during the sorting ceremony, that students are forbidden to go to the third floor, to invoke their curiosity.
  
Hogwarts is the most secure place in the wizarding world, protracted by magic ward at every corner of the magical castle. Every ward is directly controlled by the headmaster office. These wards only allow registered students and teacher entry inside the castle.
 Ghosts and spirits are not exempt from these rules, even parents visiting students have to get prior permission from the headmaster before stepping foot inside the castle.
  So every entry of human, ghost, spirits, and half-breeds is recorded in the headmaster office.
 
It's been this way for centuries, the founders of Hogwarts wanted to build a castle where students can safely pursue their thirst for knowledge. Even every dark load is afraid to infiltrate the Hogwarts castle because once they do, their life will be at the mercy of the headmaster of the castle who controls the entire castle.
  
So Dumbledore, who is the headmaster of Hogwarts, controls the entire castle and knows who enters and exits the castle. There is no fucking way for him not to know Voldemort has possessed Quirinus Quirrell, who teaches defence against dark arts for the students.
  
He allowed the entry of Voldemort inside the castle, or he is gone senile. Even if Voldemort entered secretly, the wards in the castle will find him and alert the headmaster to proceed further in capturing the infiltrator.
  
Even after knowing a dark lord entered the castle, he places the philosopher's stone in it.
 The dark lord, who happens to be in spirit form, desperately searching for a way to restore his body.
  
Everything is in its place. A stage has set, the treasure and the thief are ready. But he still needs a witness. That's where Harry Potter comes in, he already announced it is forbidden to enter the third floor, and gave Harry Potter the Nicolas Flamel chocolate card, And gifted his invisibility cloak as a Christmas gift.
  
Harry Potter is regarded as a saint of the wizarding world. He happens to defeat the dark lord when he is a year old. So the words of Harry potter carry a lot of weight in the wizarding world.
  
Now all he needs to do is sit and wait. When the dark lord tries to steal the stone, he can safely secure it. And announce it as it's dangerous to keep the stone since the dark lord is after it. With Harry Potter as a witness, who in the world can oppose his decision to destroy the stone. Now he can experiment on the stone to find a cure for his own life.
  
This way he can raise Harry potter against the dark lord, and keep the stone for himself, without doing any real work.
 
What a terrifying plan where he achieved his every goal. Maybe it's all my speculation in my head, or it's pure coincidence that it happened, but it all proved one thing: Albus Dumbledore is the most dangerous man.

"Indeed." Malachite nodded seriously, "With the kindles comes hope." 
Gu Jun pressed for more details about this legend but there was nothing more Peacock could give, the rest had already lost in the river of time. He thus turned inwardly, 'Why would Dirty-minded Yu fail to wake up? Or is this another exaggeration of this story? Could the broken heart refer to cardiac arrest? But Dirty-minded Yu does not have any heart problems as far as I know… Depression? With my understanding of that girl, she is not the type that will be defeated that easily. Her heart is not that easily broken… Wait, permanent slumber…' A shiver coursed through his body, 'Yes, dream, she must have entered the Dreamlands.'
"Dirty-minded Jun? Dirty-minded Jun? They say you're dead, and they're reading your will. Now is the time to correct them for their mistake." Gu Jun remembered that he appeared to have heard this proclamation from Wu Siyu when his mind was still in a chaotic state. If that was truly her voice, then this girl had… a seemingly different understanding of his 'death' compared to the other person. Obviously Phecda must have mastered some kind of method to send people mentally into the Dreamlands or else Elder Tong and the rest would not have shown up during their fight with the House of Nightmare. Dirty-minded Yu would have insisted on returning to the Dreamlands to come looking for him, probably needing to see his actual body to accept the truth that he had died. She might not be able to enter the Dreamlands physically but she could do so mentally.
With her talent in parapsychology, she might fail the first few times, but eventually she would succeed. However, should any accident happen to her mental projection when she was inside the Dreamlands, then it would confirm the legend that she 'succumbed to eternal slumber'. The more Gu Jun thought about it, the more worried he became. He really did not want any tragedy to befall her. Furthermore, it was he who placed that survivor's guilt on Siyu, depriving her of her usual indifference to everything… Based on the legend, something bad would happen to her soon. 
The Golden Era, the era of collapse, just when did they happen? What year was it? How long did they last? Enquire he did, but Peacock shook her head in response. There were too many variations in the stories, they ranged to a few years to several hundred years. Realizing he was not going to get any more details about the old world, he decided to ignore it for now and had Peacock continue her story about the ten thousand kindles at the Plateau of Leng… 
These stories were closer to the current timeline so Peacock's retelling of them was much more detailed and believable. However for Gu Jun, it was completely unfamiliar, he had a hard time even memorizing those strange, long, unfamiliar names of locations. But he tried his best to pay attention to look for possible clues. In the end though, it was all a haze for him. 
"Mr. Nightmare Man, that is about everything." Peacock concluded, her voice was getting dry from the long story. 
"What is your rank within your tribe?" Gu Jun asked, "How much confidential information do you know?" It did not mean that Gu Jun thought she was lying, perhaps she was being lied to in the first place. Peacock was slightly startled but she understood the man's suspicion. She replied with pride, "Both Malachite and myself are 'Phecda Warriors' of the tribe, we know more than enough. But in our tribe, the most knowledgeable tribesmen are the 'professors'." 
"Oh?" Gu Jun's brows pleated. Looks like the Professors had become priests in this world. Gu Jun personally did not believe youngsters like Peacock would know all the historical details, there might be some secrets and truths that were only inherited by the central key person of the tribe. Information that would not benefit the rest of the tribe should they know about it. Information that would shatter their belief and cause disparity. Perhaps some of the Professors knew that Gu Jun had not said any of these things before, but like Peacock said, those words had become their spiritual guide, so it did not matter whether they truly came from his lips anymore. If he had the chance, Gu Jun would have to ask for more details from these professors. 
"Venerated sirs, our people's survival is now hanging on the line!" Peacock turned to nightmare man and then Atal, pleading sincerely, "We need The Pnakotic Manuscripts, without its power, we will not be able to survive the invasion by the Ossarians." 
"Aiz." Atal sighed evenly, his wrinkled face was as calm as ever. "Should you wish to discuss the learning of the Seven Cryptical Books of Hsan with me, then I will be more than happy to share my knowledge with you, but the Pnakotic Manuscripts is just a ridiculous rumors among the people, it's only a waste of time for you to have come here." 
"Venerated Elder." Peacock's face fell as she went down on her knees. "It is different this time, our people are waiting for us to return to save them!" 
Malachite followed suit. His jaw was tight with emotion. "Elder Atal, we've spent 30 years building up everything that we are, why can't you just lend us a hand?" 30 years ago, they were still unborn. If the tribe had grown strong by then, their childhood would not have been so grey, and their teenhood would not have been so difficult. They did not wish for their future generation to suffer the same fate as they did… That was if their people could survive the imminent genocide.
In their crisis, they would have to return with the miracle cure and tome just like the Phecda Hero and the Goddess of Hope did so that the kindle could continue to burn.
"Please don't be like this." Atal sighed as he turned his eyes away. "I did hear of the Pnakotic Manuscripts when I studied with Barzai the Wise. According to legend, the book is buried deep inside a library inside one of the ruined cities at Frozen Lomar. I'm sure you have noticed the problem already. This is just a legend, a copycat of those other legends about some kind of treasure inside a sunken city at the bottom of the ocean. Even if the book does exist, it is not here." Atal shrugged, "Like I said, feel free to rummage through the temple and the tower if you do not believe me."
Gu Jun glanced at the kneeling duo and he could feel their complicated emotions… He seemed to have seen shadows of his own self on the days before he departed for Wrangel Island. 
"Peacock and Malachite, do you mind leaving us for now?" he began, "I wish to have a private conversation with Mr. Atal for a moment."
"Okay…" Peacock could not read any expression due to the white mask but she knew it was unwise to go against the Nightmare Man. Furthermore, it sounded like the Nightmare Man was going to help them… or was that her wishful thinking? She did not dare to have her hopes up but she did pull Malachite up to leave. "Mr. Nightmare Man, we are of the same kin, that will never change no matter what."
After the two left, Gu Jun turned to the old man on the ivory stage and said directly, "Barzai the Wise has me come here to take a look at the Pnakotic Manuscripts, he said that he has already passed on the book to you. It is indeed not in the tower because it is in your mind."
"Ah." Atal's weathered face shifted as he moved his slightly overweight body around, "But…"
"Mr. Atal, there is no need to deny it." Gu Jun pressed. "I need to see this Pnakotic Manuscripts."

A Kindle Fire is actually a really great tablet. I owned "one" quite a few years ago and for some odd reason it always seemed to break whenever it was nearing the end of it's warranty. The warranty on it was for a year and each time it broke, they just sent a new one with a renewed warranty. They also always included a new charger. 

The name of the Kindle actually got updated each time it was replaced to (Name)'s 2nd/3rd/4th/... Kindel Fire.

I had mine 9 years ago, but I'd still consider it a good option. In the span of ~3/4 years I think I ended up on a 5th Kindle.

No one new why such a young woman was a librarian. Why she'd waste her life like that. She sat every day behind the desk, checking books and watching everyone mill about. It's hard to escape gossip in a small town in Scotland and she new that for sure. She hadn't lived there her whole life. In fact she'd only arrived a month ago. Her red hatchback had taken her from her home in Italy to the small town west of Inverness. The quietness of the town was eerie as she'd park outside her small house. There were people watching her from the footpath but none said hello. She'd begun her life here in silence and it has since stayed that way. She was isolated within the town of 300. She hadn't even been asked her name. 

She watched diligently as school children were herded inside. They weren't as bad as the kids from her home were. These ones didn't make out and fuck in the back corner, or put chocolate or sticky hands all over the books. The only thing they did that she didn't like was that they disorganised the books. But then again if the books were constantly organised she wouldn't have a job. She sighed to herself as she tucked her curly black hair into somewhat of a bun. She watched as a nervous child approached her desk. She put on her best inviting smile as they looked at each other. "Ummm...  C-can I h-have some help... I'm l-looking for the n-next book in t-this series..." She tried no to take offense at how the child's hand and voice shook and she hand over a book. Instead she got to work. She typed the authors name into the database and sure enough there the book was, 'Tale of Tomorrow'. She smiled as she scrolled to the next book in the series. 

The red exclamation mark told her that they didn't stock the book. She frowned but didn't give up. "Ok, we don't currently have the next book but I'll order it with our next shipment." She gently told the kid with a smile. The small girl smiled back and nodded as she grabbed her book. She did enjoy her work, she lived and breathed books, it was just the people she was having a hard time enjoying. The town had no bars or clubs, they had one pub but it wasn't a fun pub. She pulled at her purple dress wishing it would swallow her up. She gazed around the large open room, watching everyone enjoy her books. Her eyes stopped on a man, he was here everyday at 4. He grabbed the same book and sat watching her from the back of the room. Their eyes connected as she stared at him. He didn't smile, but then again he never smiled. She gave a gentle smile before she continued her vigil. 

She spent her days checking in and out books, updating the records and ordering new books. It wasn't a hard job, not like building a stone house, it was just slow and repetitive. She watched as everyone left for the evening as the clock struck 5. She locked the door behind the last one and began cleaning up the books left on the tables. She slid each book into its rightful place as she walked from bookshelf to bookshelf. The stack of books was taller than her making it hard to see exactly where she was going but she slowly make the stack shorter as she walked about her library. A buzzing nearby caught her attention as she place back 'A Midnight Fright' . She placed her books on a bench nearby and went in search of the buzzing. It sounded like a phone but hers was still up at her desk. 

She rounded a corner to find a black iPhone wiggling on the floor as it buzzed. The screen showed an alarm, the writing reminding the owner about a meeting in an hour. She gingerly lifted it off the wood floor and stopped the alarm. As soon as she touched the screen the phone unlocked shocking her. She didn't want to pry but her curiosity got the better of her. She opened the calender and saw a purple block over tonight. she clicked on it and was shocked at what she saw. 'Town meeting. 6pm sharp. Induction of the young lings. Ask about the girl.' She hadn't heard about a town meeting. Hadn't been told about anything in this town. She closed the app and went into contacts searching for info on the owner. She found a home phone number for 'Me' at the top of the list and walked back to her desk. She pried her pink Samsung from her purse and dialed the number, she stood there listening to it ring. 

A deep grumpy voice at the other end shouted "What?" scaring her. She took a deep breath trying to calm her heart. "Good evening sir, I've found a phone here at my library and your number is listed as the owners home." She didn't hear a reply just rustling. She was worried she called the wrong number, her mind making her doubt herself. "OI! Lucas someone's on the line for you." The grumpy man called at the other end. Suddenly a gentle silky voice wormed into her ear. "Can I help you?" She stood there entranced by the voice but shook herself out of it. "Hi, I seem to have found your phone at the library. If you cannot collect it tonight I will gladly keep it safe until tomorrow." She pulled at a spring of her dark hair that had fallen loose her nerves getting to her. "Oh, yes. I'll be there in half an hour. Thank you Darcy." He hung up leaving her stuck in her shock. He knew her name... She smiled gently to herself, someone knew her name. She placed the phone at her desk and moved to continue putting away the books.

It was over half an hour later when a knock at the door lifted her eyes from her kindle. She stared at the two tall men in dark coats. She looked back down at the words on the screen then back up at them. The character had just been kidnapped by two men in black coats. She laughed at her stupidity and went to the door while the phone in hand. She flipped the lock and.pulled the glass door open. "Hello gentlemen. Who might be the owner of this phone?" The one with white blonde hair put his leather coated hand forward. A winter breeze blew in behind them chilling her bare legs. She placed the phone in his hand and gave him a big smile. "Enjoy you evening." He said as they turned and walked away. She quickly shut the door wanting to keep the cold out but watched carefully as the hopped into a big four-wheel drive and drove off. Her heart calmed down as she went back to her desk to retrieve her belongings. 

She looked down at her 4" purple pumps and shook her head, she was foolish to put them on this morning with the threat of snow. She'd have to wear her boots from now on. She hit the light switch as she got to the door, locking it as she left. Her red hatchback was the last in the parking lot as she walked up to it. She got in praying that it'd last through this winter. She started up the engine and sped off to her small home 5 minutes away. She watched as all the cars in the town head towards the Nelson Farm further east. She ignored them and continued to her home. The small 1 story home was all she needed in her quiet life. She was lucky, it was really cheap to buy with nothing wrong. It had a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and a small multipurpose room. It was all she wanted, something she could call her own.

When the flash of light was gone Cole and Leo saw something amazing. Chloe's scratch marks were gone and she was no longer bleeding. But at the same time something bad happened Crystal was passed out on the floor. Cole and Leo ran up to crystal. They tryed waking her up. Chloe woke up and said " What happened?" Chloe then looked over to see Crystal passed out on the floor. Then Chloe noticed that her scratch marks were gone and she wasn't bleeding anymore. Chloe got up and walked over to crystal. Cole and Leo was worried they were scared because crystal was still passed out. Chloe picked up crystal and told Cole and Leo " Follow me to the medical den." They walked over to the medical den. Kindle the medical wolf said" what happened to her?" Chloe said " I don't quite know but I think the boys could explain." Cole and Leo told Kindle what happened. Kindle and Chloe was shocked to hear what happened. Kindle said " I don't know how to handle this but just let her rest she is probably very drained." Chloe Said " Thanks Kindle we will head back to our den Again thanks for the help."Then Chloe carried crystal back to the den and Cole,leo followed. When they were back at the den Chloe put crystal down to let her rest.Leo asked " mom is something wrong with crystal?" Chloe looked at Leo and said " No dear crystal is just drained from using all that energy to heal me now dear just lay down next to your sister and go to sleep." Leo and Cole layed next to crystal to keep her warm and cuddle up. Chloe was so scared because of the state Crystal was in. Out of no where Crystal began to glow and slowly lift up in the air. Chloe got up and tryed to grab Crystal but she got shocked. Chloe didn't know what to do in that moment. Chloe felt hopeless she was so concerned on what was going on with crystal.But when Chloe was watching Crystal float she noticed something off she couldn't believe it at all. Crystal was changing....

Chapter One... My Dreams Are Not My Own

"I have put up with your ballet lessons and dance classes long enough, it's time to get serious and put all of this silly nonsense behind you Amelia, You're a Woodrow I will not have you disgracing our family name, so I called my friends at Oxford University and got you in. You leave in 2 weeks." This 'conversation' if you want to call it had happened 4 weeks ago and to this day was still the only thing running through my mind as I walked on the grounds around Oxford university on this ice cold "summer" day, thinking back and remembering summers in California that I had spent on the beach with friends or in my dance classes that I loved oh so much and now, here I am under my father's 'guidance' forced to study for my law degree that I don't even want.

All I've ever wanted from the time I was growing up was to be a dancer and now here I am, living the dream, note the sarcasm but I'm here anyway whether I want to be or not, sitting through lectures where all you hear are incoherent sentences that I'm sure I wouldn't understand even if he was speaking clearly. 

I've been walking around campus for the last 45 minutes, my classes for the day ended and hour ago and I don't have anything else to do since I don't have any friends here, I decided I might as well go to the library and find some more study aids since I'm stuck here. Walking to the library was cold and lonely, nobody wants to talk to the American Girl whose father just had to make a call to get her in to Oxford University, I saw students laughing with friends and some with their boyfriends or girlfriends on benches and in cafés just being with each other.

After walking for what seemed like 20 minutes I reached the rather large and unnecessarily over-sized campus library, I had been here many times in the last week because I've had nothing better to do or anywhere to go, truthfully I loved the smell of the old books in here most of the students just got their research books on kindle or something so it was fairly empty except for one guy that was here a lot too, walking up the steps to the old library I put my phone on silent, as if anyone would phone me, and walk through the large wooden doors greeting the old librarian who over the past week is the only person who cared to remember my name. "Hello, Mrs. Rogers." I whisper walking into the large hall. "Amelia how many times do I have to tell you to call me Elaine?" She says back sternly with a small smile nodding to me and once again there are only 3 people in the library so I decided to go and fetch a couple, okay 20, research books (bitch, don't judge me acting like you ain't never came to the library to get 20 books!) seeing the all too familiar face of the unnamed guy on the other end of the hall as he slightly raises his head to see who has entered the library but never enough to see his face. I must say his thick rimmed glasses and stubble intrigued me and the way he was sitting in an almost slouched position likehe was about to stand up and take me at any second almost drew me towards him. But I came here for a reason and that reason was not to get laid by a mysterious guy in a public university library.

I walked through the rows pulling out dozens of books and slowly walking back to a spot at the long table in the middle of the library, what I hadn't noticed though was the fact that I had dropped a few books that were now on the floor in-front of me out of view causing me to stumble as I tripped over one dropping all of my books and almost falling to the floor, key word here is almost, as I felt strong arms wrap around my waist pulling me back up so that my back was against his strong chest feeling his warm minty breath on the back of my neck as I struggled to control my breathing and my rapidly increasing heart beat, as my heartbeat regulated I turned round to see my hero and looked back into beautiful hazel/brown eyes that made my knees go week. "Um thank you for saving me I could have really gotten hurt, I'm Amelia by the way." I say thanking mystery guy. "That's nice, it was no big deal." He says in the sexiest voice I've ever heard in my life as he turns around and simply sits back in his seat in that same slumped over position. After another hour he got up and left still not telling me his name. "Elaine, do you perhaps know who that young man was?" I asked her seeing as he was here just as much as I was. "I'm sorry love but he just comes in here and he never says much, unless his asking for the reference book." She states with sympathy in her eyes.

Needless to say I came back to the library for the next 3 days hoping to see him but he was never there. Until one day that was actually kind of warm I went to my lecture since it was time for criminal law and I took my usual seat in the middle of the lecture hall waiting for everyone else to come inside and take their seats. I saw the shadow of those familiar glasses pass behind me and heard him take a seat while our lecturer entered. I heard a pencil going crazy behind me as the lecturer spoke words I could not understand until he asked out loud. "Mr. Hale, Can you answer the question?" He asked looking over his glasses and the mystery guy behind me. 

"Second Degree Murder: Definition Second-degree murder is ordinarily defined as: 1) an intentional killing that is not premeditated or planned, nor committed in a reasonable 'heat of passion'; or 2) a killing caused by dangerous conduct and the offender's obvious lack of concern for human life. Second-degree murder may best be viewed as the middle ground between first-degree murder and voluntary manslaughter." He said in that sexy raspy voice that makes my knees oh so weak. "Thank you Daniel you are correct again!" The lecturer stated sounding kind of disappointed. Oh how I love a smart guy! I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see mystery guy. "Yeah?" I asked confused as to why he tapped me. "By the way I'm Daniel, Daniel Isaac Hale" he said and I swear I saw a smirk on his beautiful lips.

I turn around to take down my notes as the bell rings signaling the end of the lecture. I pick up my books and look to the door to see Daniel speed walking out of it, making my way down the stairs I break into a run chasing after him and following him into the field, he walks unbelievably fast so in attempt to catch him I jump onto his back causing us to tumble to the ground . Don't act like you ain't never chased a guy and tackled him to the ground before.

"Um, I'm not saying that I don't like this but could you get off of me please because people are beginning to stare at us!" He sort of whisper/shouts at me back at me, trying to get me off of him, I roll onto my back and sit up as he shoves his hand at me to help me up, he pulls me up and I hit his chest with my face, looking up into his hazel/brown eyes. "So, why did you follow me? And chase me? And tackle me to the ground?" he asks in his thick British accent. "Wait, why did I do that?" I whisper to myself. "So are you going to answer me or just stand there staring at me awkwardly?" He asks again scratching the back of his neck. "Can I choose the latter, the view is kind of amazing!" I say laughing at my own stupidity after realizing what I just said, Daniel laughs and picks up his bag turning to walk away. "Wait, Daniel!" I shout stopping him in his tracks he turns his head and I swear I saw a smirk on those perfect lips. "Yeah?" he asked putting his hands in his pockets. "I was wondering if I could walk with you to our next class. I tend to get lost around here at times and well you've been here longer and I don't have any friends here except my roommate so I thought I would just, you know, seize the moment what do you say?" I ask as he laughs nodding his head as I run to catch up to Daniel smiling like an absolute idiot and we start our way to class.

"What's her name?" He asks out of absolutely nowhere. "Huh?" I mutter not paying attention to what he was saying. "Your room mate! What is her name?" He asks in an obvious 'duh' tone. "Oh, her name is Ingrid, very beautiful but plain girl, she is studying..." "Literary English, she wants to be a writer." He cuts me off laughing just a little bit. "Oh? And what about your roommate?" I ask stupidly thinking I am being smart. "I have no roommate love, I don't live on campus." He exclaims as we turn a corner and another and then another. Wait did he just call me love.

"That must be really nice?!" I state but more to myself as I look up at him, he is reasonably taller than me and has amazing black hair and these eyes that stare into your soul, that moment of silence was comfortable no awkwardness at all just complete and utter peace...

Until he broke it! "Here we are room 114, White collar crime law." Daniel says as he opens the door and motions for me to enter first like a true gentleman. The lecture hall was empty seeing as we were a half an hour early so we took seats next to each other right in the middle of the lecture hall and started talking.

He is 20 and an only child, studying from a criminal law degree but would much rather be studying film making. Whereas I am 19, have two older brothers, one is in the army and the other is in the navy, and I am studying for a full law degree but would much rather be studying dance. Daniel laughed at me and told me I was much too young to be studying for a full degree I nudged him and laughed at his way of stating things flat out, our conversation got cut short though when a high pitched screech came from a blonde on the other side of the room. "Danny, I haven't seen you in forever, I've missed yah so much!" she shrieked 'Erg typical blond bimbo bitch!' I think to myself but my thoughts get interrupted by Daniel putting his large hand on my leg and looking at me in an apologetic way. "Britney as you can see I am having a conversation. So? You can leave now, go." He says calmly shooing Britney away. 'Erg Britney typical blonde bimbo bitch name, how did she even get in here? She probably screwed her way in!' I thought to myself or at least that's what I thought, until Daniel started laughing and she lunged towards me luckily she was caught mid-flight. "Oh gosh did I say that out loud?" I ask Daniel who just can't seem to stop laughing. "He said walk away Brit you know what that means!" Mystery guy says pulling her away.

Class passed by in the blink of an eye and the next thing I know Daniel and I are walking to a coffee shop off of campus.
