Instead, Ian distanced himself by a small margin, avoiding the attacks barely, but he stayed in the zone of counter-attack.

It was one of the things Ian learned in the fantasy world.

Ian slowly moved towards the Blaze wolf without making any sounds. There was something common about all the wolves, they have a very sensitive nose and ears.

It was the same for the fantasy world and even Ark. Ian has already confirmed this with the red wolves earlier.

He planned to go for a surprise attack and stab the sleeping wolf before retreating. It was the best strategy he could think of since there was a large level difference between both him and the Blaze wolf.

There was a 5 level difference between Ian and the Blaze wolf. Just a level difference can be fatal in Ark, so a 5 level difference was a thing to look out for.

'Let's do it.'

Ian went close to the Blaze wolf and prepared to stab his head with the beginner sword but before he could do it, the wolf opened his eyes and tried to bite him.

His response was like a viper that had been through countless battles!!

The Blaze wolf growled as he glared at Ian. His eyes were blazing red like there were raging flames in them. His attitude told him that he didn't like Ian trespassing in his territory.

"Bring it on, you damn wolf!!"

Ian swung the sword and confronted the Blaze wolf.

Howl!

Yelping, the Blaze wolf leaped on him. From that time, Ian's pose and moves changed drastically.

His legs were glued to the ground while his waist and shoulders rocked back and forth. Like a breeze, Ian let the fierce Blaze wolf pass by.

"I'll be a fool if I die here."

Ian has wasted too much time to come this far. He won't go back until he can soak himself in the Blaze wolf's blood.

Ian was capable of predicting the Blaze wolf's next move, and a single wound wasn't as much as he had been afraid of.

"I know I can defeat it."

Ian tightened his grip on the beginner sword. He had faced much more ferocious opponents in the fantasy world, he would not quiver before the Blaze wolf.

The only way to end this fight quickly was to confront the Blaze wolf head on!!

That's what Ian did, he leaped through the air to attack the eyes of the Blaze wolf. It was one of the vulnerable spots on his body.

But the Blaze wolf did the same. He also leaped up and attacked with his teeth. The sword and the Blaze wolf's teeth clashed together, letting out a clanging sound.

Clash! Swish!

Ian repeatedly swung around his sword and the wolf also attacked at the same time. Both of them were bleeding and their healths were going down.

Ian's health was already below 200 and the Blaze wolf was also bleeding from several parts of his body. That's why, realizing the situation, it took a step back.

Swoosh! 

The Blaze wolf distanced himself from Ian and started firing fireballs at him. Ian rolled around all over the cave just to dodge them.

"This damn wolf!!"

Curses kept pouring from Ian's mouth. He couldn't do anything about it. He was continuously being pushed back by the fireballs.

He couldn't even attack as the Blaze wolf was maintaining his distance from him. It was now only a matter of seconds before Ian will experience his first death.

Ian thought as he started running towards the Blaze wolf at full speed. He was giving it his all to try to deal a final blow to the Blaze wolf.

The Blaze wolf health was already down by a lot and a critical hit can kill him. He just needed to deal the last blow to him.

The Blaze wolf also saw that and he spewed out fireballs in a hurry. Ian tried to dodge them but it was hard to dodge and run at the same time.

Because of that, one of the fireballs struck him on his left leg and he struggled to run, but he was already quite close to the Blaze wolf.

"It's now or never!!"

Ian shouted as he jumped at the wolf with all of his strength. The Blaze wolf was stunned by this and was not able to react at all.

Stab!!

In the end, he was stabbed in his head and with a whimpering noise, he succumbed to his death.

"Aku belum kalah, aku tidak akan kalah darimu putri Dewi Bulan! Aku akan bangkit dan menghancurkan dunia ini!"

"Aku akan membunuh mu!".

Serigala itu menatap datar, iris emasnya menatap tajam pada Sang Kegelapan yang berusaha lepas dari tekanan kaki dan cakarnya.

"Kau memang keras kepala"

Seketika datang sebuah cahaya dari segala arah, satu persatu cahaya itu datang ke segala penjuru. Jutaan bahkan miliyaran cahaya datang bagai hujan bintang yang sangat cepat, mereka berkumpul kedalam satu titik.

Iris merah darah Leviathan melebar, ia tau betul apa yang akan dilakukan oleh serigala itu.

"Memang kekuatanku belum cukup untuk membunuhmu, tapi... setidaknya aku bisa mengulur waktu lebih lama untuk dunia"

Satu persatu cahaya merasuki tubuh Sang Kegelapan, membuat tubuhnya bercahaya. Sang Kegelapan berusaha membebaskan dirinya, dengan kekuatan yang masih tersisa dia berusaha melepas tekanan kaki Sang Serigala Perak.

Terjadilah ledakan cahaya yang sangat menyilaukan, menebarkan suara ledakan yang sangat keras.

Seorang gadis kecil, mengusap matanya. Menunduk, hingga surai merahnya yang dikepang jatuh kedepan bahu. Matanya berkaca- kaca, menatap sekitarnya dengan tatapan bingung dan takut.

Wajah manisnya tertutupi debu bekas pertarungan yang hampir mengahancurkan dunia, iris birunya mencari sesuatu.

Hingga dia melihat seorang wanita cantik yang bercahaya sedang duduk disampingnya. Wanita itu tersenyum, wajah cantiknya semakin lengkap dengan gaun dan mahkota yang dihiasi ornamen bulan biru.

"Kau sudah sadar Alisa?"

Gadis itu menatap tak paham.

"K- ka- kau, si- siapa?" Tanya Alisa kecil takut- takut.

Wanita itu tersenyum lembut, tangannya tergerak untuk mengusap kepala gadis kecil itu.

"Aku tinggal disana," wanita itu menunjuk ke atas. Tepat di sebuah bola yang tampak bersinar terang dilangit yang gelap gulita.

"Kau... D- dewi Bulan? Apa kau benar- benar dia?" Tanya Alisa yang tiba- tiba memeluk Sang Dewi sambil menangis.

Wanita itu tersenyum tipis, mengelus puncak kepala Alisa penuh sayang.

"Tenanglah, aku disini. Tidak ada yang perlu ditakutkan"

Alisa melepas pelukannya, mata bulatnya menatap bahagia atas kedatangan Sang Dewi. Tiba- tiba datang serigala kecil berbulu perak yang langsung menerjang Moon Goddes. Serigala itu menduselkan kepalanya kepangkuan Sang Dewi sambil menghibas- ngibas tiga ekor mungilnya.

Alisa menatap kagum pada serigala itu, tangan kecilnya ikut mengelus kepala serigala itu. Halus, bulunya tersa sangat halus dan lembut ditangan Alisa. Gadis kecil itu tertawa melihat serigala lucu itu begitu menikmati elusannya.

"Mereka adalah Aria dan Angela, dua jiwa yang saat ini berada dalam satu wujud. Dan ini Aria, adalah serigala yang berasal dari sehelai rambutku, air suci kuilku dan kekuatanku. Aku sudah menganggap mereka seperti anakku sendiri"

Alisa mengangguk paham. "Jadi serigala ini anak Dewi?"

Dewi Bulan tersenyum lalu mengangguk.

"Alisa, maukah kau menjanjikan sesuatu padaku?" Sang Dewi mengangkat dagu Alisa pelan.

Alisa kecil mengangguk pasti, membuat Sang Dewi lagi- lagi tersenyum.

"Berjanjilah bahwa kau akan menjaga dunia ini selama aku dan serigala kecilku mengumpulkan kekuatan. Aku akan menaugerahi keturunanmu umur panjang agar kau dapat menjaga mereka berdua," Ucap Sang Dewi sambil mengelus serigala kecil yang tertidur itu.

"Tapi.. aku..."

"Aku percaya padamu Alisa,"

Sang Dewi beranjak, menatap penuh kasih pada gadis kecil itu. Lalu dia menyerahkan serigala kecil yang berada digendongannya pada Alisa.

"Jaga mereka berdua untukku.."

Sang Dewi perlahan- lahan menghilang menjadi cahaya, serigala kecil itu terbangun dan langsung melolong melihat cahaya itu pergi.

"Aung aung aung," serigala kecil itu tak henti- hentinya melolong sedih, memanggil Sang Dewi.

Alisa mengelus kepala serigala itu,"Jangan khawatir Aria, Angela. Aku akan menjaga kalian,"

Alisa membawa serigala itu pergi, berjalan menjauh dari tempat itu dan mencari tempat tinggal yang lebih aman dan damai. Mata besar serigala kecil itu menatap sedih kearah langit, iris emasnya menatap bulan  bersamaan dengan cairan bening yang jatuh dari matanya.

Apa ibunya membuangnya?

Apa Sang Dewi telah meninggalkannya?

Namun pertanyaan itu hanya bisa terpendam tanpa pernah keluar dari sang pemilik hati.

It was the night of a full moon; the night Raven 12345 reckoned that Lily would go through with her transformation. Hao Ren and his tenants had been busy making preparations for the event since the break of dawn.
Although truthfully, no one knew exactly what to prepare for. Lily was a vagabond who had never met her kind before. She only knew that her kind were called werewolves from TV. Y'zaks too had never seen a werewolf in his world while Hao Ren's knowledge of the lycanthrope came from movies. The only person who had any inkling (however little) of the ritual was Vivian. Yes, the vampire who was a bitter enemy of the wolfen.
Vivian had taken leave the previous night to look for herbs and other peculiar ingredients. She knew of some remedies from times long past, which were used by the werewolves during special rituals. Most of the remedies revolved around pacification and mental control, given that they were a race that went berserk very easily. Training their mental fortitude was a big challenge in all their rituals. Given this particular need for their kind, the werewolves were rather proficient in making herbal poultices for the mind. Vivian had a long and difficult relationship with the werewolves. Through that, she managed to get hold of some of their secrets. As a precaution against Lily losing control at the height of her evolution (to be honest, it was more like they could not and would not trust Raven 12345's words), Vivian labored the entire day to prepare the poultices.
As for Lily, she was the most carefree of the lot. By Hao Ren's instructions, she was to sit at home and relax. She was even forbidden to go out and play with the dogs in the streets. She was supposed to rest up so that she would be able to withstand the strain of her evolution. Furthermore, to appease the hyperactive pup, Hao Ren prepared a giant pot of roasted pork ribs for her and the pup was now glued to the television munching on the ribs.
Hao Ren supposed that it was for the best.
As he and Y'zaks had zero idea on how to deal with a werewolf, they went to town to get some essentials for the night.
Lily's transformation was expected to take a few hours at least. The prevailing theory was from moonrise to sunrise and she cannot be left alone during the evolution. Hence, Hao Ren, Vivian and Y'zaks had to be present. Having to stand watch under the stars guarding a rampaging werewolf was not something to scoff at and the necessary preparations were needed. 
No one was sure how or what Hao Ren had looked up on the internet but, he somehow managed to cobble together a ‘to-buy’ list. The list included a cheap and sturdy mat, a disposable tent, a camping lamp, a huge bundle of rope and a box of snacks. When he first showed the list to Vivian, it gave her a shock. At first, the vampire thought Hao Ren was going to perform a field delivery for Lily and run off with her. She was finally convinced by Hao Ren that he was merely preparing some survival tools
.
While the Southern Suburbs was a small locale, the supermarkets there had pretty much all the items Hao Ren had indicated in the list, except for the tent. It was a given since it was not something you would normally use. Accompanied by Y'zaks as he went about shopping, both of them quickly ticked off the shopping list, except for the tent.
Y'zaks was lugging two big shopping bags as they stepped out of the supermarket. The bags were stuffed to the brim with the items they just bought. Since they could submit a claim to Raven 12345 later, Hao Ren did not not spare any expense.
"Mr. Landlord, why are those people staring at us?" Y'zaks felt uncomfortable at the looks the crowd was giving him. Hao Ren supposed that the great demon had still not fully recovered from the traumatizing experience in his own world. Moreover, Y'zaks had pretty much been cooped up at home for the past two days. The moment he went out with Hao Ren, a sense of discomfort threatened to overwhelm him. "Besides, why did the cashier hold her hands in the air the moment I stepped into the store?"
Hao Ren could only look at the seven-feet giant of a man who had a vicious look eternally plastered on his face. As for the vibe he gave out? Much like a murderous devil who had been under lockdown for years. Hao Ren muttered to himself, "It's not 'us', it's you and that face of yours." Y'zaks could consider himself lucky for not getting locked in the slammer by the local police.
Moreover, the way the demon carried himself was extremely direct. The moment they stepped into the supermarket, Y'zaks, without as much as a word, slammed the shopping list onto the counter and commanded at the top of his voice, "You lot, get me the items on this list here!"
The poor cashier girl broke into tears the moment Y'zaks pulled that stunt. Her hands were shaking as she pulled out the cash tray from the register and handed it over to Y'zaks. She then left the counter with her hands held in the air. Hao Ren sensed that something was amiss and darted out to check on what went wrong. The first thing he saw was an old liberation army man hiding by the cabbage rack, dialing 110... Thankfully, he reacted quickly.
Also, thank goodness he purchased a boat load of items so, the manager did not ask for any compensation for the anguish caused.
Having recalled that scene, Hao Ren shook his head and sighed. Y'zaks clearly had very little idea on how society functioned there and he started to explain in detail. He did brief Y'zaks on the matter of supermarkets and the process of purchasing items. However, because it was short and coupled with Y'zaks misunderstanding, things were a mess. He knew that deep down, the demon had a kind heart and was a very affable per.. demon. He simply wanted to help but this was a time where the face mattered and by the looks of things, Y'zaks scared everyone away with just a glance. Such is the society nowadays.
Y'zaks frowned at Hao Ren's attempt to explain. "Superficial... superficial indeed the way your society sees things. In my world, the most respected are the most hideous to look at. Demons, humans, even those pompous elves knew the value and honor a battle scarred look brings. The sense of beauty in this world is way off,. People should not be wearing justice and conscience on their sleeves.
Hao Ren almost snickered at the notion of a demon talking to him about justice and conscience. What a revelation indeed. He knew Y'zaks was different from most demons but, this was a difference on a whole new level. It even surpassed the insane goddess. Y'zaks face glowed with a saintly halo when he spoke of 'justice' and 'conscience'. Hao Ren simply could not figure out how to react to that.
"This is a societal issue. Pay no heed to it." Hao Ren laughed wrily and patted Y'zaks on the shoulder. "That said, are you clear about the process of purchasing stuff? A supermarket is different from your sundry shops and control your volume when you speak..."
"I know. There are merchant stalls in my world and I know money is a good thing." Y'zaks shrugged. "I may be a demon but I have also wandered within the human society as well. The men there are as sly as your kind here. They could even sell oil mixed with rice gruel to the gnomes. Hell knows where they got that idea from."
Hao Ren was curious about the world which Y'zaks hailed from. It sounded like the typical fantasy world you would see in a fantasy novel. However, he knew that Y'zaks was rather sensitive about the topics of his home world and Hao Ren just left it at that.
As the two were walking towards a crossroad, they heard a song in a distance.
Hao Ren looked around and saw that a young lass was performing in front of a shop, the melodious tune coming from her guitar.
Buskers were a common sight in the main towns or train stations but, for a place like the Southern Suburbs, it was a rare sight indeed and Hao Ren stopped to have a better look.
The girl was petite. She was clad in a loose grey sweater and a pair of dusty-looking jeans. She had slightly dark skin, fair as well as supple features and a pony tail, which dangled from the back of her head. She was not exactly a beauty but, she had a quiet and cute charm about her, especially when she pursed her lips.
While Hao Ren was mesmerized for a few seconds, the girl started singing again. The song played from her portable sound box.
"She sings pretty well," Hao Ren muttered to himself. "But, what language is that?"

To start bringing all of the races together, there will have to be a big reason for them to want to leave and explore so that they'll each other.

Currently, the monsters are still down on Verathal and are somewhat of a problem but since the introduction of the chosen and the appearance of magic, the problem isn't as high as what it once was. This means, its time for a improvement for the monsters.

The monsters current abilities are just simply extra strength and Resistance. They have no intelligence so they just have a blind rage about everything and don't work in packs.

Trying something new, I used my system to show me the basis for every monster. Seeing that there was only one bases, I added some more.

The new bases that I made were for different types of monsters. To add a bit of... Flavor... I added in some fantasy monsters that'll only attack at night.

Werewolves, vampires, ghosts, that sort of stuff.

They'll start appearing on the edge of the continent and slowly force all the races towards a designated area. This area will be one of the human cities.

However, I still want some smaller cities from other races to appear so if they can hold of the monsters and decide not to leave, then they'll have the possibility.

Waiting till night time for Verathal, I then went down and started making my changes. Adding in the monsters, I made them appear from nothing and start attacking the nearest cities.

One of the closest cities was the Half-Beast ones so I made sure to give a warning to someone in the church so that they didn't get surprised.

Using my powers to fly and be invisible, I started watching from above. These new monsters had a innate sense of where a large amount of people are. With that, they started heading in the direction of the Half-Beast city.

Arriving around a hour or so later, you could clearly see that the Half-Beasts got my message as they've fortified the city walls with whatever troops they could.

Dozens of troops had whatever make shifts they had at the moment out and ready to strike if anything got close. At that time, a werewolf came rushing over and jumped onto on the the guards. The other nearby troops jumped back at first but quickly regained their senses and rushed over to help him.

They started attacking the werewolf and after a bit of time, succeeded in killing it. However, they were a bit late and the original guard that was attacked had died from the werewolf's attacks.

A couple more werewolves came out of nowhere and started attacking the others. The troops were able to quickly take some of them down this time but a couple of people still died. At that time, a singular vampire appeared. 

He went up to one of the corpses, lifted it up, and bit its neck. After a second or two, the vampire dropped the corpse. The corpse then rose up by itself and started shuffling around like a zombie.

A guard nearby turned around quickly and immediately struck the zombie down with a singular strike.

The vampire seeing this, simply walked forwards to the guard. The guard seeing as he could easily take down the zombie was full of arrogance and did a simple strike at the vampire and cut off its arm. Reaching downwards, the vampire grabbed its arm and swiftly jammed it back into place and the wound quickly healed.

The guard, now frightened, lost all of his arrogance and attempted to run away. Leaving him no time to turn around, the vampire grabbed him and bit into his neck.

After a bit of time, the vampire finally let go and let the guard drop to the ground. Slowly the guard rose back up with pale skin and blood red eyes. He started laughing maniacally and rushed at one of his fellow guards.

He lunged forwards and dived headfirst into one of the other guards and bit him on the neck and started the process of turning him into a vampire as well.

At that time, when everyone was being attacked by werewolfs, vampires, and Zombies, the ghosts finally made their appearance.

They appeared as white transparent half-beasts that slowly made their way to corpses that haven't been turned into vampire-zombies by the vampires. Once over a corpse, they slowly descended down into it and possessed them.

Looking very similar to the vampire-zombies, the main thing that helped you differentiate them was their ominous white glowing eyes.

The possessed corpse got off of the ground and acted as if they were regular troops. They rushed over and started attacking whatever enemy they could find with the same speed as what the body originally had.

After another couple of minutes with the three new monsters fighting the Half-Beast troops, something new finally happened.

One of the chosen of god finally came out of wherever they were hiding and made their appearance. With holy glow surrounding them and a mace in hand, she slowly made her way over to where the monster horde was attacking.

Using my powers really quickly, I made a very simple status to figured out which god gave her, her powers.

Silica walked out and slowly walked up to all of the monsters. A werewolf seeing that she was open and defenseless ran up to her and attempted to tackle her to the ground.

Seeing this, Silica continued to slowly walk forwards and once the werewolf got close enough, hit him away easily with her mace. The werewolf's head shot off it's body like a baseball and went back into the horde of monsters nearby.

All eyes of the monsters and Half-Beast troops were on her and seeing this, she raised her mace into the air and said, "Understanding thy enemy is half the battle."

Her mace then glowed and bathed all of the troops in a holy aura. After a second passed, all the troops turned back to the monsters and started attacking again.

However, compared to a couple of seconds earlier, they were fighting as if they knew exactly what to do. They were hitting all the weak points of the monsters and killing them as if they've been doing it for years. 

After another couple of minutes, the horde of monsters dwindled down to barely a dozen or two.

Watching all of this, Silica slowly adverted her gaze away from where the battle was and looked at my direction. 

"And what is a god doing on the mortal plane if I may ask your Holiness?"

Since Gu Fei's target could fight monsters thirty levels beyond his, he was now unsure if the person was alone or in a party. If it was the former, he would sincerely praise this person.
When Gu Fei looked at this matter from a different angle, he could say that he had more or less met almost all the highly skilled individuals in Yunduan City, so he wondered if any of them had equipment that could beat monsters thirty levels higher.
Svelte Dancer and Drifting… These two were among the Five Unyielding Experts of Parallel World, and the chances of one of them being his target were high. Thankfully, he could easily find out if one of them was his bounty target. Gu Fei sent each a message directly addressing this matter: "Do you have PK points on you?"
The two were high-level players, so them having PK value was as natural as them having ten top-grade equipment. As expected, both players replied: "Yes."
Gu Fei immediately became alert: "How many points?"
Drifting promptly replied that he had 1 PK point. As for Svelte Dancer, being a lady that she was, she quickly followed up her admittance of having 1 PK point with: "Why are you asking?"
"I'm clearing off my PK value, so I'm trying to avoid getting someone I know…" was Gu Fei's reply.
"Tsk! You better not dare pick the 'Bounty Mission' for me, or I'll rip you apart," Svelte Dancer retorted.
Gu Fei did not reply to that as he had no wish to argue with her. For additional insurance, he asked his comrades on the mercenary channel.
Young Master Han would never 'dirty' himself with something like PK points, so asking him if he had PK value was as good as asking him if he had a terminal illness, and he disdained to even reply to Gu Fei. The rest simply answered that they had none at the moment. These experts did not inquire deeply on the matter as this was not the first time Gu Fei had asked them such a question. Ever since that time Gu Fei had mistakenly picked Royal God Call as his bounty target and vice versa, he had made it a habit to ask his fellow mercenaries for their PK value before doing 'Bounty Mission', telling them to erase their PK value as soon as they could. It would be quite troublesome to find a resolution for the matter of Gu Fei accidentally picking up their 'Bounty Mission', after all.
After confirming that the player who could grind on monsters thirty levels above was not one of his acquaintances, Gu Fei high-spiritedly proceeded to Suoyun Village.
Gu Fei could already make out the silhouettes of the Werewolves within the woods. Parallel World was ultimately a fantasy-themed game, so it would be remiss if the game designers did not add these scary and frightening creatures. However, this was also a full-immersion game, so the players would need to have a certain level of psychological resilience if they were going to face these savage and bloodthirsty beasts.
The game designers felt the need to gradually ease the players into this by making it so that the low-level monsters would slowly become fantastical as their level increased. Simply put, players could tell how deadly a monster was just from its looks. The higher level the monsters were, the more powerful and horrendous they would look. This so-called evolutionary design was too extreme for open beta when the designers chose to put adorable cats and dogs in the beginner maps and inadvertently caused quite the uproar among the players.
Creatures like the lycanthropes were often the prime villains in horror films, so for them to be present at the level 70 threshold showed how much care the designer team had put into rating them.
Gu Fei was quite far from the Werewolves in the dusky woods, so he did not attract their attention. Checking the coordinates once more, he confirmed that his target was really somewhere within the village. The village appeared quiet and deserted. A wide, wooden bridge extended before the village and there was a road that led people who took the mountain path right into the village.
Gu Fei got on the bridge and proceeded to the village, but before he even made it halfway, two Werewolves suddenly appeared out of nowhere, panting heavily as they stood by the head of the bridge.
Gu Fei had once crossed paths with their kind in the church by Yeguang Village outside Yueye City. Although it was but a brief encounter, Gu Fei was clearly no match for that Werewolf back then. Had it not been for the quest condition requiring the Werewolf to flee, he would have most likely been killed by its claw swipe.
The two Werewolves before him were grinding monsters, so they would naturally not run off once they got injured. If Gu Fei fought with them right now, he would still be no match for them despite him being ten levels higher than before.
Gu Fei might be undefeated in-game thus far, but that was mainly due to him possessing fast speed and reaction; it just so happened that these two aspects were the fortes of Werewolves. Gu Fei assessed the monsters before him using the strength of the Werewolf he had faced back then as gauge. If he had confidence to beat these level 70 Werewolves, he would come here to level grind long ago.
Moreover, Gu Fei had only considered a one-on-one fight. Since two Werewolves were blocking the bridge like this, it was needless to say how things would turn out for him. Gu Fei stood in the middle of the bridge for the longest time, yet the two creatures before him showed no signs of leaving.
Gu Fei had no choice but to beat a hasty retreat. Since he could not cross the bridge directly like so, his only choice was to follow along the embankment and enter the village via a longer route.
Turning his back to the other end of the bridge, Gu Fei decided to save time by jumping from the bridge to the embankment. Following his landing on the embankment, he heard a howl from behind.
Gu Fei hurriedly sidestepped to dodge. He faced backward and saw a Werewolf leap out from under the bridge to pounce at him. He did not know how the Werewolf had walked all the way to here from under the bridge, but Gu Fei never once spotted it due to the bridge blocking his sight of it. Naturally, he had no clue of its existence when he leaped from the side of the bridge. Doing so caused him to enter this Werewolf's aggro range. It then unhesitatingly hurtled itself toward Gu Fei and attacked him.
Gu Fei did not get flustered when the Werewolf pounced at him. He quickly chanted a spell and blinked five meters away from where he stood. The Werewolf's claws swiped thin air once more and it snarled in frustration as it gave chase to Gu Fei.
Gu Fei was originally planning to flee when he created this five-meter distance from the ferocious beast, but upon seeing the Werewolf's moves, he had a sudden stroke of inspiration and went forward instead of retreating. The hand holding Moonlit Nightfalls lashed out with Twin Incineration.
The spell's flames burned the Werewolf's skin and hair, causing it to howl and become more aggressive. Still, its attack patterns remained the same; Gu Fei dodged the Werewolf's attack and struck it once more, not showing any signs of being at a disadvantage.
Upon seeing the Werewolf's movement, Gu Fei decided to fight with it despite its faster speed. Deep down, he was feeling puzzled by this Werewolf's inferiority in terms of strength and speed to that Werewolf back in Yeguang Village.
Any average player might think that the reason for this was his increase in strength and speed, but the close-combat expert Gu Fei thought differently, as he could accurately judge the strength and skill of his opponent, separate from his fighting capability.
What Gu Fei forgot was that the Werewolf he had clashed with for the chain quest in Yeguang Village was not ordinary. Adrian had used the Fang of the Wolf King to shapeshift into a Werewolf Lord. Although the strength he had displayed was nowhere near that of a true Werewolf Lord, the average Werewolf would still be inferior to him in every aspect. Gu Fei mistakenly used Adrian as the standard for every Werewolf, causing him to inflate a Werewolf's actual combat strength. This was yet another aspect of the game mechanics that Gu Fei had failed to understand.
But while he could meet the Werewolf's every strike, its HP and defense were still frighteningly high. Gu Fei used Twin Incineration – the strongest spell in his arsenal – on it thrice, and he even smelled the pungent odor of burned hair and flesh, yet the Werewolf's attacks did not falter in the least, incessantly snarling and tearing at Gu Fei. The Werewolf's saliva dripped and frothed in its maw, occasionally flying out; it was the very definition of the word 'disgusting'.
Gu Fei was now helpless at this point. His Blink was currently unavailable, so he could only endure dealing with the Werewolf. The Werewolf did not show signs of tiring, and it in fact even slowly recovered from the burn wounds of his Twin Incineration. Gu Fei could tell this from the scent of burned flesh slowly becoming fainter.
This… This was the Werewolf's regenerative ability!
It was as if Gu Fei had suddenly awakened from his dream as realization dawned on him. It was no wonder this Werewolf had yet to die despite suffering from all his slashes and burns and even appeared to be more invigorated from all the abuse. It was not due to this Werewolf having high HP or defense but was due to its inherently fast regenerative ability.
Gu Fei's Moonlit Nightfalls was at level 70, and the Werewolf was also at level 70. Although the sword was considered to be top grade, Gu Fei's low Intelligence and Strength meant he was unable to deal the usual damage that struck fear to the enemies just with his weapon's Attack Power. Not being able to insta-kill the Werewolf after hitting it with Twin Incineration thrice… This was due to Gu Fei not having enough stats to bring out the sword's full potential.
The amount of HP I reduce is lower than the amount of HP it regains, Gu Fei finally met a situation he had no means of resolving. In a scenario where one could not kill the quarry despite putting all into the fight and where one could not escape the strong opponent, any other player would just helplessly wait for the monster to finish him or her off.
Unfortunately for this Werewolf, it was currently up against Gu Fei, the very same person who had completed the chain quest involving a shapeshifting Werewolf in Yeguang Village. He was also in possession of a weapon called Sacred Flames of Baptism, which was the bane of the Werewolves' existence.
Flames of Baptism was just a level 30 weapon, and plenty of better quality weapons with additional fire attack naturally existed out there, yet Gu Fei had not replaced it all this while. This was due to the village elder performing a ritual on it as part of the chain quest, which changed it into a 'Sacred' type and granted it the ability to 'nullify regeneration'.
This trait usually had no effect, but when it was employed against Werewolves, it could uncompromisingly become a hindrance to these foul beasts.
Gu Fei returned to his senses with a jolt and hastily replaced his Moonlit Nightfalls with Sacred Flames of Baptism. Sacred Flames of Baptism's Attack Power was very inferior to Moonlit Nightfalls'. Just its Physical Damage had problems penetrating the Werewolf's high defense. Thus, the Chinese broadsword's main source of offense was still its additional fire attack. Who knew that Sacred Flames of Baptism would demonstrate an outstanding result when used against a real Werewolf? One slash from it left an open wound that looked quite like it was scorched, albeit a faint silvery glow was hidden within this scorch which was brighter than a flame's glow.
The additional fire attack that soon followed lit this wound aflame, intensifying the smell of burning flesh once more. The Werewolf was evidently in greater pain from this attack using Sacred Flames of Baptism than Moonlit Nightfalls', as its whimpers became more mournful.
Gu Fei did not relent in his assault and his slashes arrived in rapid succession. Before too long, the Werewolf collapsed on the ground in a heap. Gu Fei sighed in relief. Werewolves were not overwhelmingly strong, after all, and the key to vanquishing them lay in taking care of their fast regenerative ability. If a level 70 player that came to grind in this map could not match the Werewolves' fast regeneration, he or she would probably just become matchstick for these creatures.
On a side note, the experience points Gu Fei had gotten from killing the Werewolf were indeed worthy of its high level. Brimming with confidence, Gu Fei stepped on to the bridge once more after replenishing his HP and mana and resolutely headed toward those two Werewolves at the other end of the bridge.
Over by the Game Administration Department of Parallel World, the monitoring team happily informed Ye Xiaowu, "Chief Ye, that guy whom you have eyes on just killed a Werewolf thirty levels above his today."
From the perspective of the staff of the monitoring team, Gu Fei's actions and control did not violate any rules, but his ability to leave the game designer Ye Xiaowu helpless and stunned through his achievements had them keeping an eye on Gu Fei as well.

PAGKATAPOS kong magpaalam sa mga ermitanyo, early in the morning, ay muli kong binagtas ang malawak na disyerto pabalik sa town ng Kal-Shushu. Momo is still not here para i-guide ako pabalik sa malayong town. Kaya ang isang no sense of direction na tulad ko ay kaawa-awang naliligaw sa malaking disyerto ng Markarth.

I swear; I saw this three-headed cactus kanina! 

Patuloy pa rin ako sa paglalakad. After a while, sa 'di kalayuan, nakakita na naman ako ng cactus with three heads. Disappointed na naupo ako at kumuha ng maiinom.

I can't survive without you, Momo.

While looking in the vast area, wala akong makita na maaari kong silungan. I can't log off here. The place is filled with Boa (Desert Snake Monsters) and Cactuars (Moving Cactus Monsters). Well, I think mababa ang chance na makabalik ako sa town ngayong araw so I decided na magpa-level up na lang habang ine-explore ang lugar.

I hope Momo will come back soon.

While killing the mobs, nakarating ako sa isang green but stony field. I can finally see some trees and plants, malayo na sa itsura ng desert so I think hindi na ito sakop ng Markarth. Even the mobs ay napalitan na ng mga bear, wolf, and wildboar. Dahil ang mga ito ay aggressive, nagpahinga ako sa isang mataas na sanga ng malaking puno kung saan hindi nila ako maaabot.

I'm relaxing as of now and enjoying the cool breeze. It feels sooo good! Then I realized that I'd started to like the game. Everything feels so real, the sky, the surroundings, the people, the skills, and the magics are worth every dollar! However, a realism level of ninety-nine percent had its shortcomings as well such as the pain inflicted and most importantly, my growling stomach. I could only take what was left inside my pack which is the watermelons and, as I ate it, I wondered if puwede kong gawing lechon ang mga wildboar sa ibaba. Hmm... tasty!

A thunderous, bestial roars filled the air na nagputol sa aking lechon fantasy. My head turned to look at the source of the voices. It wasn't too hard to spot the targets.

"Unbelievable..." I muttered with an odd twist to my lips. Two monsters are fighting! Big black bear vs a white werewolf! This game is getting weirder and weirder!

I didn't need to move an inch sa puwesto ko para makita ang upclose fight ng mga ito because it seems that papunta sila sa aking direction.

The bear viciously attack the werewolf with its strength and sharp claws. The werewolf, however, is very quick at mabilis lang n'yang naiiwasan ang attack ng big bear. Ang moves nito ay tila pinag-iisipan. On the contrary, ang black bear ay malakas ngunit may pattern ang mga galaw.

Eating watermelon while watching a great fight, oh... this is life! Isang tough battle ang nangyayari because both beasts are strong. I think it's a battle of who is the most powerful beast, Vitality or Agility Beast?

In the end, the werewolf won the battle. Ngunit marami siyang natamong sugat.

"How long are you planning to stay up there, woman?!"

Nagulat ako sa narinig. Hindi pala mob ang werewolf, only the bear. Ang duguang werewolf ay nag-transform at naging isang bloody male elf. His face is very familiar! The arrogant Elf!

"You?! You're a werewolf?!" Dazzled. I blink my eyes alot of times.

"Obviously." Then he rolled his eyes. "What are you doing here?" tanong n'ya habang umiinom ng health pots.

"Enjoying the show?" And how did he know it was me? The last time na nagkita kami ay isa pa lang akong hamak na novice. Right now, I'm a full-fledged assassin and I'm wearing my scarf kaya mata ko lang ang nakikita sa aking mukha.

The Elf stands firmly yet with curious eyes. "I thought you're doing the legendary quest?"

I stared at him dumbfounded. "Legendary—What?!"

He closes his eyes briefly as he struggles to contain his temper. "The crying boy!"

"Ah! The mythical flowers..." simpleng sagot ko.

"Well?"

"Well, what?"

"What happens to your quest?!" he said through gritted teeth.

I told him what happened but I think he's not satisfied based on his reaction.

"Don't take me for a fool!" His expression has darkened.

"Look, it's hard to explain, but in the end, I got the three mythical flowers. I'm done. The end."

His face was a bit disappointed. He was about to leave me but I stopped him by grabbing the tip of his sleeve.

"What?"

"I... I'm kinda lost..." I tried my very best to crack a smile. "Can you help me get back to the town?"

"Right! You found the Cavern and Oasis that are both hidden and was not in Utopia map. And now you're saying you are lost?" he told me with disbelief saka tumalikod sa akin. "I'm done with this place anyway."

"Hey, by the way, how did you know it was me?" 'di ko mapigilang itanong.

"Stop bothering me or I'll leave you behind!"

Kahit nakatalikod, nakita ko ang kakaibang galaw ng kamay ng Elf na nagka-cast ng spell. Weird, may spell din pala ang mga thief? Mayamaya'y nag-transform siya at naging isang dambuhalang agila. The head and tail are white, ang katawan ay kulay black, piercing eyes, massive hooked beak, and powerful talons.

"Wow!" Hindi ko alam na may ganito ka-cool na job sa thief's race. Iyan ang hirap sa akin, hindi ko pinag-aralang mabuti ang laro.

Tumingin ito sa akin saka winagayway ang malalaking pakpak na tila pinasasakay na ako sa kanyang likuran.

"You want me to ride you?" Teka parang mali yung sentence ko, pero bago ko pa mabago ang gusto kong sabihin nagsalita na si Mr. Elf?

"Why? You want to walk? From here to Kal-shushu it will take you atleast a day..."

"No! No, thanks for the ride!" Mabilis kong putol sa sasabihin nito at excited akong sumakay sa kanya. Medyo nagulat ako at napakapit sa kanyang leeg nang magsimula na siyang lumipad.

"Behave woman. Don't take advantage of me."

I was momentarily embarrassed. Even though the Elf is in his Eagle form. Hugging his neck was equal to embracing him. The worst part was, I can feel his heartbeat in his strong warm feathery back. It makes me uncomfortable.

"This is amazing!" bulalas ko nang makita ang tanawin sa ibaba.

"Careful." Mr. Elf told me unenthusiastically.

"Can I hold onto you tightly?  I'm not afraid of heights but I'm afraid of falling and dying."

"Then hold." He said flapping his majestic wings. 

A moment of silence 

"Woman.."

"hmm?"

"Not too tight. I can't breathe..."

"Finally, a decent meal!" Naglalaway ako habang tinitingnan ang mga mapang-akit na pagkain sa aking harapan. "Bon appetit!" And I ate my steak mouthful first.

"Eat slowly," sabi sa akin ng Elf with a look of disgust. "I've never seen a woman who eats like a pig."

"I'm just appreciating the food!" I muttered between mouthfuls. "Unlike you, who eats like a caterpillar?" banat ko kahit puno ng steak ang aking bibig. Napansin ko kasing vegetable salad lang ang kinakain n'ya.

"I'm a vegetarian," he said in a matter of factly.

What? A small, nervous, disbelieving giggle erupts from deep inside.

"Woman... I do believe your giggle makes my palm twitchy." Naramdaman ko ang pagsabog ng killing aura ni Mr. Elf sa paligid. Kasabay ng masamang pagtitig sa akin, iniunat n'ya ang mga naghahabaang mga daliri na may mala-maleficent na kuko.

The flower is made from one hundred percent gold so I assumed na 'pag ibinenta ko ito, marami akong makukuhang gold. I want to sell it and keep all the gold for myself. Nang malaman ko na hindi ito puwedeng ibenta, hinayaan ko na lang ito sa aking inventory.

Masama na naman ang mga titig ng Elf sa akin.

Ang mga titig n'ya sa akin ay hindi na kinakailangan pa ng mga salita para sabihing interesado siyang malaman ang kabuuan ng quest.

"I got the last flower in the center oasis of Markarth," inunahan ko na siya. Alam ko naman na ito ang kanyang next question.

"You're speaking as if it was so easy. You know that it was the hardest quest in Thieves' Town." He heaved a sigh.

"I didn't say it was easy. In fact, it was very hard."

"You're obviously hiding something from me. There are many things I'd like an explanation for, such as how did you manage to find the secret locations and defeat bosses if there's any?"

"Ah..." Napatingin na lamang ako sa kanya habang malalim na nag-iisip. How will I be able to explain everything to him without mentioning Momo?
