After the fight was over, Ryoto was taken to the hospital. That was why he was disqualified at the final match against Bakugo. Second place. First, if not for their whole body and transformation dilemma.
Bakugo was enraged. Getting placed first with no fight, he hated that. But his friendship towards Ryoto was also the reason he did not show it. He was worried for his friend. Seeing him go all-out for the very first time, he felt ignored. 'His Quirk awakening at the USJ catapulted him strength-wise. I cannot believe it, fuck,' he thought, before going to the victory ceremony.
At the same time in the hospital, Ryoto's finger's were being reattached. Medicine was far too advanced to worry about losing the fingers. So the doctors were able to reattach the fingers back with ease and no lasting damage, the cuts were too clean and made their job easy.
Inside the dream world, both souls were exhausted. It had taken them everything to control the body.
'That was a bit too much, don't you think,' Zoro asked.
'I- I wanted to-,' Ryoto was cut off.
'You wanted to prove yourself and tried to not lose, I know. You were the one fighting, not me. If you had lost, YOU would have lost,' Zoro explained.
'In your memories, I saw how you were beaten thousands of times before becoming a pirate. But after you became a pirate and joined a crew, you only lost once. You lost against the strongest swordsman at the time. You cried and swore to your captain that you would never lose again. When I saw that, I cried mentally. It's good that our consciousness isn't connected, or you would've made fun of me,' Ryoto explained.
'Don't get surprised when we wake up. You cut off your own fingers on accident. The medics said that they would be able to reattach it, so don't worry,' Zoro revealed.
'WHAT?!'
'I said, don't worry.'
'Ha-Ha. Don't worry, he says. I am going to worry. My fingers...'
'Be a man, alright? Oh, here it goes, we are waking up.

"Hey, your prick! You dare let me win without a fight?! As soon as your injuries heal, we will have a real fight," Bakugo says as soon as he sees Ryoto awake inside his hospital room.
"One of your classmates," Miho asks, changing her smiley face into a stoic one.
"Unfortunately," Ryoto answers, chuckling.
"HEY," Bakugo yells.
"Calm down, first place. Is that the way you speak to a senior," Miho asks Bakugo.
Bakugo does not respond. He would've, if not for her hand that was unfortunately placed on Ryoto's shoulder, ready to squeeze it. Bakugo could read Ryoto's facial expression. It said, 'if you dare talk back, I will cut off your hands'.
"Sorry, Bakugo. I just wanted to see how strong I was. Since the USJ incident, I did not fully use my Quirk. But as you can see from my half-green hair, there were some complications," Ryoto explains.
Bakugo sits next to Ryoto's bed, seeing his fully bandaged hands.
"I don't think I introduced you to her. She is our Senior from class 2A, Miho Kogo," Ryoto introduces.
"A pleasure, Bakugo Katsuki," Miho says and shakes his hand.
"How do you two know each other," Bakugo asks.
"After that thing with my dad, I shared the same room with her at the hospital. We became friends and sparring partners," Ryoto responds.
"Are you going to explain this," Bakugo pointed at Ryoto's hair.
"I will. You two have emitter type Quirks. And so did I before the USJ incident. But at the USJ, my Quirk awakened and it became a hybrid type. It has features from transformation type and mutant type Quirks. When I use my whole Quirk, more than the Sharpness aspects, the Quirk actively alters my DNA. And if I only use my Sharpness Quirk, it will turn back into the original DNA. Very weird, but humans did not have Quirks for that long to be able to explain it," Ryoto explained, continuing with the second part that was a half truth. "Me and the hospital staff thought about the same theory as to what this would end up as. The Quirk actively changes my DNA, altering my body, trying to perfect it. The result would be a completely new body that would remind someone of a mutant type. And with mutant types, they have innate abilities, and my innate ability could very well be my Sharpness."
"Very weird indeed... but I do NOT care! You think you are better than me now? Just don't get upset when your mutated body is beaten by me," Bakugo began yelling.
"Hahah! Whatever, man. Thank you for visiting me, I feel better now. I will be at school tomorrow," Ryoto raised his bandaged hand in a way that made Bakugo realize that he was giving him the finger.
"HAHA! Bastard! I will be seeing you then," Bakugo stood up, leaving to go wherever.
"Weird friendship you got there," Miho says.
"Ours isn't any different," Ryoto replies.
"It might be..."

"We welcome Ryoto back," Aizawa says, seeing Ryoto enter the class 10 minutes late.
All eyes on him, just like at the sports festival.
"Glad to be back, class. Your class rep is back," Ryoto said, moving towards Shoto.
"What happened to your hair?"
"Are your hands ok?"
"Congrats on second place."
"I hope I did not cause any serious damage. It was the first time I used that move," Ryoto says to Shoto who just looked at him with a blank expression.
"I underestimated you gravely, Ryoto. You, like Deku, do not care about your own body when trying to reach your goal. I should've done the same and-" Shoto was cut off.
"Look, Shoto. I don't really care. The last thing I wanted to say was, I wish you would've gone all out, like I did. You essentially disrespected my efforts. But look on the bright side. The class's number two had to go all out just to beat you with half of your arsenal," Ryoto said as he sank back into his chair. "Now, let's listen to what our dear teacher has to say."
"Thank you, Ryoto. Today, we will be choosing Hero names. Your internships offers also came. You will need a name for that," Aizawa revealed, getting a cheer from his class. "Also, we will have a guest with us today - Midnight."
"Hello, kids," Midnight says, entering the class.
One by one, Ryoto's classmates go to the front to reveal their Hero names to the class, getting feedback from them and Midnight.
"I am going to be called Deku," Deku says, getting laugh in response from Bakugo and a chuckle from Ryoto.
"Explosion Murder! King of Explosions! Hell King Bomber!" Bakugo tried to settle for a name, but was shut down by everyone.
"Shoto," Shoto says, getting a neutral response.
Once Ryoto stepped forward, the show was on. Everyone wondered what the most charismatic and skilful student would pick.
"Demonic Swordsman: Scar." Ryoto revealed, looking a bit to the side to reveal the scars he had on his neck.
When thinking about it, it made complete sense. If he wished, Ryoto could leave a scar on every opponent he faced. Best examples being Jiro and now Shoto.
