Into a Parallel World

A young girl scolding voice followed by a sudden hug from a small figure woke Bai Yi Yang from her slumber.

"I told you to stop disturbing jiejie!" The young girl scolding voice sounds annoyed.

"I just want to talk with jiejie.." An immature voice reply sadly.

"Argh.." Bai Yi Yang groaned as she clutch her stomach that was bumped onto by the person that she suspect belonged to a small girl, but she didn't push the kid away.

She only lightly tap the child on her shoulder so that she stopped hugging her tightly, the source of her current suffering.

Bai Yi Yang slowly open her eyes and she saw one girl around 10 years old standing with mouth opened in shock, near the door and another little girl less than 5 years old with tear stained face sitting next to her, this is the source of her suffering now.

Bai Yi Yang looks around and find the shabby room she currently in is totally unfamiliar to her.

She is not super rich but her one bedroom apartment looks much more better than this room.

These children must have saved her when she try to flee the organisation, this place must be a small village near the mountain of the research institute.

She is so lucky to be found by this family, its better to quickly repay them and leave, she doesn't want to implicate this kind family with her problem.

There is no way the elite soldiers will let any of them go if she is caught.

"Jiejie, you woke up.." The girl at the door quickly put down the basin filled with water and towel she is holding.

She walk straight towards Bai Yi Yang, her eyes are red and even though she is not crying like the other little girl who only-god-knows-when already clutching onto her shirt, her eyes already filled with tears threatening to fall, enduring her sadness.

"En..thats right..thank you for saving me.." Bai Yi Yang is a bit taken aback with their friendliness, but her heart melts seeing the two caring girls.

Talking about these two girls, why does she found them familiar? Their clothes are shabby, but their face is oddly familiar, like she had seen them before.

"What are you talking about jiejie, of course we will save you no matter what. That visiting doctor is unreliable, she said that you are in a bad condition, since our family don't have money then we cannot go to the hospital, but if we agree to enter the orphanage then jiejie can be treated. But how can we agree, once we enter the orphanage then we may become separated. These days, gege went to do extra part time works to pay jiejie medicine but yesterday the doctor still insist that we should agree if not…if not.." The girl tears finally fell, pouring out her grievance.

She was so sad yesterday when the doctor tell them the news, even their big brother was going to agree if the doctor come again today because they really don't have other ways.

She already able to understand that they siblings really don't have extra money to go to the hospital to treat her sister, if they delayed, she may died.

Doctor Huang is kind, her sister medical fees, he only charge for the price of medicine but not for the consultation. She knows a little bit about that since she had heard Grandma Zhou talk about it before.

"Doctor Huang said jiejie will die.." The small child continue the words that her slightly older sister didn't dare to say. She said it in almost a whispering tone, afraid that the words really come true if she said it out loud.

"Fang Fang.." The big girl nudge the small children to stop talking.

It's better that jiejie doesn't know or else she may feel sad.

Its good as long as she is fine.

Bai Yi Yang was dumbfounded. What are these two girls talking about? What orphanage? What family? She is already these old, what for does she need to enter the orphanage with them again? She already leave the orphanage years ago alright.

Those were the days that she want to erase from her memory.

Her eyes went onto her pair of hands, they are indeed way skinnier and smaller than before, actually much more smaller. It looks like her hands belongs to some malnourished teenagers, it reminds her of her teenage years in the orphanage, it looks similar like that time. Don't tell me..

"Can I ask some questions?" Bai Yi Yang once again was shocked with her voice, why does she sounds younger? How can she not notice it before, her voice, her body.

"Go ahead jiejie.." The big girl nod. The little girl also nod. Eyes wide open, earnestly waiting for their older sister questions.

"Who am I? Where is this? How old am I this year?" Bai Yi Yang knows that she sounds ridiculous but she need to ask this. There are no mirror in this room and she is too weak to search around the house.

As expected, the older girl are shocked.

"Jiejie.." The big girl is speechless, tears slid down her face again.

"I know…I know.." Contrary to the big girl reaction, the little girl was excited. She quickly put up her hand to answer.

"Jiejie name is Bai Yi Yang, Fang Fang name is Bai Yi Fang. Jiejie is 1 and 6 years old, Fang Fang is 4 years old. I even know gege, er jiejie and xiao gege full name and age." Bai Yi Fang said proudly. Her eyes is shining, wanting to be praised.

Bai Yi Yang digest the information, her name is the same but her age is 10 years younger.

Then she eyed the two girls again, no wonder she found them familiar, isn't this a younger version of Bai Yi Ling and Bai Yi Fang? She only met them a few times since they are her rival Bai Yi Chen younger sisters. Well to be exact they are also her younger sisters in blood too but their relationship is worse than strangers.

But in here, it is really strange, why are they staying in this poor house. And there seems to be another person among the siblings that she didn't know exist in her world, the xiao gege that Bai Yi Fang mention.

Is this a parallel universe?

Only that can explain this situation, some people she knows does exist, living entirely different kind of life and some people who she doesn't know also exist. Is this the effect of the system that they painstakingly research on?

This was 10 years before the timeline in the other world because the Bai Yi Yang in this world died of illness during this time, at the age of 16. This is what she can deduct.

"Jiejie, why are you quiet? It doesn't matter, we will help jiejie remember" Bai Yi Ling said softly as if coaxing.

She was feeling a bit shame for bawling her eyes, so what if their sister forget a little. Isn't the most important thing is that she is alive now? Their family is complete again.

Bai Yi Yang look up, seeing Bai Yi Ling gentle expression, she was quite unused to it. The Bai Yi Ling that she knows is a cold genius, just like his older brother Bai Yi Chen, she is also very outstanding.

But now she looks just like a little girl.

Well actually the whole Bai family is outstanding, the Bai couples are senior researcher in the institute, so of course their children inherit their brain. "I didn't forget everything, I still remember you." Bai Yi Yang said as she pat Bai Yi Ling head.

Bai Yi Ling eyes flash in happiness, she quickly wipe her tears with her sleeve.

"Some things I can't remember but since both of you are here then you can just help me remember right?" She ask, they are her hope of finding out this place and timeline.

The two sisters immediately nod.

Bai Yi Yang have a little clue about the family situation, since they mention about going to the orphanage then most probably the Bai parents are both dead so in this house, there are only the 5 siblings left.

No wonder they are living like this, the oldest is this original Bai Yi Yang and Bai Yi Chen who is only in the senior secondary school. The other is still to small too especially Bai Yi Fang. It is a miracle that all five of them is still alive at this point.

"Where is the other?" Bai Yi Yang ask.

"Gege went to work. Xiao gege went to the river to catch fish." Bai Yi Fang is the one who answer.

"When will they return? You said the doctor will be coming, when will he be coming?" Bai Yi Yang asked again.

"Gege will return during lunch time, yesterday he promised the doctor that he will give answer by today's afternoon, so the doctor will be coming later too." Bai Yi Ling answer but her expression is a little down.

Even though the elder sister is awake, they cannot continue living like this. What if next time another one of the fell ill, then what will they do? She knows that their parents insurance money is almost used up, it is only enough for them to eat for a few months.

Just food alone, one family need at least a thousand of yuan for a month, not including transportation, bills and so on. That's what Grandma Zhou said when she asked last time. They have so many people in their family, maybe it will last shorter compared to old Zhou family.

Other than that they are also lucky since they live in a small town, the price of things is not as expensive as big cities.

"En, I understand. When..he return I will talk to him.." Bai Yi Yang was a bit reluctant to call Bai Yi Chen gege because of their deep enmity in the other world. He is indeed her gege, he is a few minutes older than her.

"Alright. Jiejie, let me help you to wipe your body. It must be uncomfortable." Bai Yi Ling said and bring forward the basin and towel.

Bai Yi Yang was still a bit shocked so she quickly reject. She is weak but not to the point of letting other help her wipe her body.

"Then let Fang Fang stay here to help you, I will go to the kitchen to cook lunch." Bai Yi Ling said and walk out of the room.

Bai Yi Fang grinned and sat obediently, waiting for instructions from her older sister.

Bai Yi Yang was amused at this new obedient Bai Yi Fang, where is the usually haughty teenagers that cannot meet eyes with her?

She doesn't plan to really clean herself for now, so she only wipe her face and neck then fold the sleeve of the oversized shirt. But then when she saw the symbol on the inner wrist, she was shocked. It was the symbol of the system created in their institute. The reason that she was hunted into the thick jungle by the security elite. She touched the symbol and an interface appear in front of her.

[Welcome User to the System. Initiating.]

A robotic voice can be heard and she saw the screen changed, the initiation is still 30% complete.

She steal a glance at the child sitting in front of her. Can she see this too?

"Fang Fang..can you see anything strange?" She asked.

"What strange?" Bai Yi Fang look around but she doesn't seems to notice the screen with now 50% complete.

"What about on my wrist?" Bai Yi Yang show her the wrist with symbol like faint tatoo.

"Huh? Why is jiejie showing Fang Fang her wrist?" Bai Yi Fang look confused but thinking it was some kind of game, she also show both of her wrist while laughing.

Bai Yi Yang sigh in relief, so only her alone can see it? She pretend to play along with Bai Yi Fang.

She continue to wipe her arms but she concentrate with the system at 80% complete initiation.

Bai Yi Yang put down the wet towel and then wanted to stand up to put it away but she didn't think that this body is really too weak.

"Huh.." She exhaled when she was forced to sit down again, the basin make a sound when it touch the floor.

"Jiejie, don't mind it, I will put it away later.." Bai Yi Ling ran from the kitchen and said. She ran to the kitchen again after that.

"Thanks.." Bai Yi Yang blush. Now she is even need to be taken care by a 10 years old girl and a four years old.

"Fang Fang, can you help me to look for new clothes and pants. I want to change." Bai Yi Yang said to the little girl who is using her small strength to push away the basin with water to the side.

"Alright!" She said and ran towards the cupboard.

After making a mess after searching through the compartments, she finally found a pair of long pants and long sleeve shirt. She bring the clothes to the bed and gave it to Bai Yi Yang proudly.

"Clever girl. Thank you. Now can you help jiejie to lock the door and wait outside, jiejie want to change clothes." Bai Yi Yang really want to change her clothes and take a closer look at the system. It would be weird to let the child see her scroll through and tapping the air while she is looking through the system.

"Why?" The little girl is a bit confused. Her sister never kick her out when she is changing clothes, they even bath together every day.

"Jiejie is a bit shy today." Bai Yi Yang can only make up an excuse.

"Alright, Fang Fang will keep guard outside." Bai Yi Fang feels like she is doing a mission.

She didn't wait long and ran out of the room before closing the door.
