Hello my dear readers, welcome to 'My Servant Omega'. This will my first novel and I hope to create two seasons. Omegaverse explained in relation to this novel

Omegverse is an alternative universe whereby males can conceive and reproduce. Within this world there are normally three well known second genders separated to into the following categories Alpha, Beta and Omega. Deepening on the author, there can also be a fourth second gender known as Gemma. However, this novel will only be focusing on the main three.

Alpha

Alphas are more aggressive of the all the genders and tend to have stronger pheromones which they can be used to demonstrate their dominance, power and to attract Omegas. Alphas are often successful and highly intelligent, so you would often find them in highly professional positions. As there are a low number of alphas in society, they are often seen as trophies who are highly valued and respected.

When it comes to courting, alphas are very possessive and protective with their chosen mate, often covering their lovers with their pheromones to keep others away. Dominant alphas, however, can mark and claim their mates, a process that involves the alpha biting the nape of their lovers' neck and injecting their pheromones into them. Once marked and claimed, it creates an unbreakable bonded (much like a contract) between the two that prevents them from mating with another for the rest of their lives. A marked mate always carries the scent of their alpha, it in effect act as a repellent to ward off other potential suitors.

Physicality wise, alphas are larger and stronger of both betas and Omegas, and are always the dominant ones in bed, depending on whether that alpha is submissive or not.

Alphas can be both male and female, with the females being just as dominant. Biologically speaking, while the males already have a penis, females don't. Everything is different for the female alphas, submissive female alphas can get pregnant, however submissive males can't as they don't carry the biological organs to accommodate a child.

For a dominant female alpha, where the clitoris is, once she gets aroused, a retractable penis is there instead.

Beta

Betas are the second in command chain to an alpha, and generally they make up the largest percentage of the population.

Betas do not have pheromones and can control their sexual desires compared to that of an alpha and omega, who are physically drawn to each other's pheromones more so when an Omega is in heat.

Biologically wise, they can impregnate each other heterosexually male to both females' betas and a submissive female alpha. The males have a penis and the females' vagina, with females being able to conceive by both dominant alphas or beta males. Due to their biological makeup, betas are unable to mate with omegas.

Physically, the build and strength of a beta depends on their genetic makeup, those of stronger builds are often found in areas involving manual labour, the army, or as royal guards.

Omega

Omegas are the lowest ranks within society, due to their pheromones and heats, which most have used to target higher ranking alphas.

Physicality wises they're the softer and less physically able of the second genders, with their main qualities being to find a mate, ideally an alpha and bore them offspring's. Omegas like alphas can produce pheromones, and every quarter month they go through what is called a heat cycle. During this time, they exude high levels of pheromones and their bodies become sexually aroused to the point where they're sometimes not in control of their actions. When they are in this state their only objective to find an alpha and mate, to do this they use their pheromones as a homing signal to attract a potential mate.

Though they may be the most fragile of the three-second genders they are the most compatible sexually when satisfying the sexual needs of an alpha, compared to a beta whose body recovers at a much slower pace, omegas are far better at withstanding the physical desires of an alpha.

To ensure that an omega doesn't go into their heat cycle, they can take what his known as a heat suppressant and at times have had their reproductive organs removed. Laws pertaining to omegas are often unfair and non-binding, meaning they're often overlooked when it comes to the justice system.

What is a heat?

Heat is the time when the Omega is most fertile and ready to mate, or just hide away until the heat is over. If they have an Alpha mate, they will never leave their side unless they need to get their Omega food or water. Mainly, they have sex and then rest. They keep a watchful eye over their Omega, listening to them and caring for them. But in bed, they still are the dominant ones.

If an Omega has no mate and is unmarked, that could be dangerous to even leave the house. They could get raped, even if they protest and try to run.

A good part about this heat is that the Omega will self-lubricate, which means they only need to prep the Omega a bit to have sex. During these heats, an omega's hormone increases to extreme levels. A strong scent (pheromones) is released during the heats, causing the Alphas to smell it and chase after the Omega. If there is already an Alpha with that Omega, they will fight the other Alphas off.

Suppressants and are used to stop the heats from happening and reduce an omegas scent. There is a pad-like item for the male Omegas to help stop the leaking from the lubrication when they are in public.

How does pregnancy work?

For female Betas and Omegas, they can become pregnant from a male beta or alpha fertilizing their pre-existing ovarian tract during sex. Once a female beta is pregnant, she will carry her fetos/baby for around ten months, and five months for a female omega.

For male omegas, however, their ovarian tract develops after finding an alpha mate and experiencing their first heat together. Once their ovarian tract has developed, they will be able to conceive during their heats only, unlike their female counterpart who have a small chance of getting pregnant outside their heat cycle. Their male bodies will also change physically, such as developing breast and their hips widen to accommodate their growing child. The physical and emotional change can be stressful on a male omega, hence why they need their alphas full attention and love during this period.

How does birth work?

Female Omegas and Betas are born with their reproductive organs already in place and can give birth vaginally. However, for male omegas and submissive female alpha, this organ is later formed upon finding a mate. During birth, a male omegas anal passage will dilate and increase in size to accommodate their impending baby. Female submissive alphas will give birth vaginally.

Marking / Mating

This occurs when the Alpha bits his/her Omega gland, which is located on their necks. They release a spike of oxytocin into the Omegas blood, triggering the release of vasopressin in the Alpha. Omegas will also produce a chemical compound in the presence of other Alphas when pair-bonded, as a warning to other Alphas.

During heat, the Alpha is required to mating through a mated bond: if they are absent, this causes the omega to have a unsuppressed heat and could lead to the bond fading and the Omega susceptible to other Alphas claiming them.

When a mated or bounded omega alpha dies, they will go through a process referred to as un-bounding. This involves the body going into a withdrawal state, with symptoms including sweating, vomiting, fever, dizziness and at times convulsions, to rid the body of their mate's chemical imprint. If symptoms are extreme along with a weak omega mental state, due to the loss of their mate, un-bounding can lead to death. Hence, why bounding or mating is done primarily with a fated mate.

Scenting/ pheromones

Alphas and Omegas tend to have unique scents which they emanate to attract each other or used to show their dominance. Pheromones are produced mainly by scent glands on the wrist, neck and cheeks, and for Omegas it's the genitals.

When claiming a mate, the Alpha will rub their face and hands on the face and neck of their chosen Omega, as an additional warning to other Alphas that this Omega is claimed. Omegas scent Mark their Alphas as well, though this tends to be more subtle, usually done through physical contact, such as hugging and cuddling.
