Chapter 75: Other father

"BoBo wake up it's dad" Kang Lei called as he gently shakes the sleeping shoulders of BoJing, the little eyes of BoJings finally opened in a hurry beaming at the sight of his father. "Daddy you're okay, have you recovered now, Sir said you wasn't feeling well".

"Yes am okay, am sorry I left you all alone you must have been scared", Kang Lei responded feeling responsible for what had happened. After he had woken up he was too ashamed to see BoJing, he felt guilty for wanting to be close to him, but he was comforted by the thought that Dominic was taking good care of him.

"Daddy— it's okay— I — I am sorry too I couldn't help you when you needed me the most". BoJing felt remorseful and helpless for what happened to his father. His words pained Kang Lei's heart, he took BoJing's face into his palms looked him deep in his eyes and reassured his precious son, "My little BoBo never say you're sorry again, and you did help me, you know how you stayed strong and for that's am extremely proud of you". "are you really daddy?" BoJing asked unconvinced, "would I lie to you, daddy is beyond proud of his BoJing Lei" kang Lei smiled and rubbed his nose against BoJings's own making his giggle.

"Come get ready, Dominic is waiting to us to have breakfast"

"Okay daddy" BoJing said getting out of bed, as he made his way to the bathroom he stopped and looked at this dad innocently, "did you want to ask me something BoBo?" Kang Lei asked curious of his behaviour, BoJing remain silent for a moment before finally pulking up the courage to ask his father "Ca—can I call Sir father now?" He whispered softly while looking down and playing with his fingers.

Kang Lei chuckled "haha he's gotten to you aswell huh! Do you want him to be your other father?" Kang Lei asked already knowing the answer, "well he's told everyone to call me young Master Lanxian and they all call me his son so I didn't want to be rude" he pretend as though he didn't first thought of the idea long ago. Kang Lei looked at BoJing unconvinced he was sure his little man was more than happy for the new title, "well why don't you call him father and see how you feel if you don't like it then you don't have to call him that, okay"

"But— if I do will you marry Sir? You do love him right? I can tell you smile more when your with him.... I want to call him father but only if you say you'll marry him".

Kang Lei smiled, "do you want us to be together BoBo?" He asked a blush raising to his face, "I think Sirs good for you, don't you like him?",

"Yes I like him, I like him very much, but Sir hasn't propsoe yet so I can't say yes to marrying him without him asking" Kang Lei pouted a little sad thinking how Dominic's already planning their marriage and hasn't even asked him if he wanted to marry him, he hasn't even gotten a ring kang Lei had the right mind to slap Dominic over the head for being such an idiot.

"So if Sir asks you'll say yes right!" BoJing exclaimed, Kang Lei who was feeling a little shy covered his face with his hands and shook his head to confirm yes.

BoJing beamed, "great! Let's go father is waiting, I'll make sure father propsoe okay daddy, BoBo's got this" he said running to bathroom to get dressed. Kang Lei sat on the edge of his bed and thought for a moment "did this little kid just con me into getting himself another father" he said to himself smiling.

Once BoJing was ready, Kang Lei and He headed off to the kitchen where Dominic was waiting for them. "Good Morning BoBo" Dominic greeted him the minute they walked in the room, BoJing gave Kang Lei a quick glance before quietly whispering under his breath "good morning father". Dominic froze and a massive smile rose to face "ahem BoBo sorry I didn't quite catch that, what did you say", BoJing who isn't normally shy, ran behind Kang Lei and hid his face but he was still able see Dominic, again he repeated a little louder "good morning father". Dominic couldn't contain his happiness and immediately rose from his seat to get closer to BoJing, with a huge smile on his face he ruffled BoJings hair and said "looks like I finally won one of you over, should I also expect a good morning honey from my beloved" Dominic turned his attention to Kang Lei making the other red in the face, "shameless" Kang Lei fire at him turning his face away to hide his blushed cheeks.

At the Lanxian's family home Mrs Lanxian was happily preparing for her BoJing to arrive, she had gotten up especially early to order the workers to make various cakes and foods for the special occasion, "honey don't you think this is a bit too much for one child" asked Mr Lanxian looking around at the parade of food increasing with every passing moment, "No, in fact I don't think it's enough, besides If he doesn't eat it all we can always send it to Dominic's children's charity he supports. And why are you standing around have you prepared our grand baby's bedroom"

"It's always most ready, I have the men working on it as we speak" Mr Lanxian replied as he attempted to take a slice of apple "put it down" Mrs Lanxian scolded smacking him on his hand "love am only taking one, am sure BoBo won't mind" Mr Lanxian tired to reason "I don't care, if your hungry go ask the maids to bring you something, now scram".

while the two was again bickering their Butler Jeffrey interrupted their squabbles, "ahem Master and Mistress, you have a guest in the lounge" Jeffery informed the two who both beamed with delight thinking it was their BoJing, without asking they rushed to the guest lounge with quick steps.

"oh my darling is her—" Mrs Lanxian chocked on her final words when she suddenly realised who their guest was, "hello mother, I hope you don't mind my uninvited visit" MiMi WuXain said politely. Both Mr and Mrs Lanxian awkwardly tried to regained their composure after being greeted with this great disappointment. "Oh no love it's fine, bu— but may I ask what brings you here so early?" Mrs Lanxian tried tremendously hard to act natural, MiMi who was hoping to find Dominic at his parents house was disappointed yet again, he informant at Dominic's mansion had told her that he hadn't been home for sometime and when she had visited his office she was told again he was away, for the past week she had been reeling in anxiety as she feared Dominic had found Xi WuXain and was hiding away with him. "Oh mother I had come to see Dominic, I hadnt heard from him since he announced our engagement and we haven't begun to make any plans for the day, I was just worried he may have gotten cold feet" she spoke weakly tears staring to form in her eyes.

"Oh dear not to worry, we forgot to tell you that I would be over seeing the arrangements for your wedding. as for Dominic, I'll tell you a secret Dominic's actually went out of the country to look for the perfect ring to give you, he wanted to surprise you but am just too excited to keep it too myself" Mr Lanxian lied flawlessly, knowing fully well the family carries a well known heirloom.

"bu- but will Dominic not give me the Lanxian's family heirloom ring?" she asked disappointed that she wouldn't be wearing the most treasured and sort after family emblem.

"well Dominic wanted to give you something special and unique, don't worry dear Dominic has every intention of seeing through with this wedding, after all he'll he marrying the person he loves dearly" chimed Mr Lanxian backing up his wife, both nodding confidently at MiMi to reassure her that she had nothing to worry about.

"Thank you mother and father" she smiled contently feeling she happy at hearing the words 'loves dearly'.

"Why are you here?", Dominic's voice suddenly sounded in the room startling everyone, his parents who were expecting his arrival with BoJing looked around curiously to see if BoJing was behind him, but was relieved he was alone.

"Dominic" MiMi said surprised before Dominic sent a dangerous glare her way,

"Sorry I mean Mr Lanxian, your parents said you were away" she said shyly with a cute smile, her heart filled with excitement and anticipation for the ring Dominic had especially gone to buy for her. "Again Miss Wuxian why are you here?" He asked coldly as he started to lose his patients with MiMi, Mrs Lanxian who knew her stupid son was on the verge of ruining everything quickly stepped in. "Dominic that is no way to treat your future wife, of course she can be here she was concerned and wanted to see you. Anyway what kind is man purpose marriage and disappear without saying anything, now you need to Act! More committed to Miss Mimi do you want to her think you have ill-intensions?" Mrs Lanxian clearly stated making Dominic calm down, upon acknowledging he wasn't playing his role well enough and if he wanted his plan to go through he needed to make sure this bitch didn't get suspicious and started asking questions. "Hmmm my apologies mother and father. Miss WuXain I have already set a date for our wedding it will be on the 8th August two weeks from now, my mother will send the invitations out and arrange everything for the day, any objections?"

"Well, my mother also wanted to be involved seeing that am her only child.. it's only natural she wants to be apart of the organising" she acting again to be timid,

"Fine, my mother will contact your mother, but if there's nothing else I need to have a moment with my parents so am going to have ask you to leave" again he spoked to her without a hint of care or compassion, it was as though he was completing a business deal. MiMi looked to him with expectant eyes, "…." hoping he would show her a little affection.

"Did you need something else Miss WuXain" Dominic glared at her still standing figure, "oh— no nothing I'll get going," she awkwardly as she got her belongs and left, he heart secretly hoping that after their wedding Dominic's cold demeanour with change.

Kang Lei who had earlier arrived with Dominic saw MiMi WuXain as she left, he quickly hid himself behind a wall before she too had caught sight of him. He knew that if she came to know he was alive she would do everything in her power to hurt him.

Kang Lei looked at the direction from which she came and saw Dominic and his parents all exit the same room, he wondered why they would be meeting with MiMi so early in the day.

A sicken feeling rose to his chest he couldn't help but feel he was being deceived by Dominic in some way and there was nothing he could do about it seeing that he had allowed him Mark him. His heartache at the thought but still he didn't want to confront Dominic and destroy the dream he's currently living, so he ran back to the room where Dominic had told him and BoJing to wait.
