Chapter 54: The hunt for Kang Lei and BoJing

Dominic had spent sometime searching through kang Lei's apartment for any clues, but nothing not one thing could point him in the right direction.

"Did you manage to find anything son?" Grandpa Chong called out from behind him.

Dominic was stood frozen looking at a small picture of Kang Lei and BoJing, their smiles radiating happiness. He picked up the picture and caressed it, missing the two people in the image. A sharp pain came in his chest, the thought that they maybe in danger was too much to handle.

The more he looked at the picture the more he started to become angry.

"Son... son.... Mr Lanxian!" Grandpa Chong raised his voice again.

Dominic quickly pull from his trance and turned to grandpa Chong. "oh.... sorry.... am sorry but I need to go now...I can't waste anymore time....here's my card please if you hear anything call me immediately. Thank you uncle" Dominic handed Grandpa Chong the card, bowed his head in respect and left the apparent, taking the small picture with him.

On his way downstairs he took out his phone and called Michael, "brother" Michael simply answered, "meet me at the house within the hour alone" Dominic hastily spoke before cutting the call. He quickly dashed to his car and told his drive to return to his mansion.

Michael who was in a meeting at the time looked at his phone worryingly. Did the army make a move already, impossible that would be too fast he thought.

The female who was currently going through her presentation stopped when she saw Michael was now distracted she thought she had made a mistake "Sir... is everything okay?" She asked weary, herself and many others were still cautious around Michael as his temperament was somewhat at times similar to Dominic's. Michael quickly stood up and addressed the room "this meetings postponed, Daniel reschedule for another day" he said icily before leaving a now puzzled and confused room.

Bye the time both Dominic and Michael had reached the mansion, it's was now mid afternoon. Dominic was already in his office looking at a CCTV footages he had managed to get from the store Kang Lei supposedly had visited. As requested by Dominic within the hour Michael burst through his doors. "Brother what happen? Do we need to mobilise the team?" Michael spoked in a manner as he was ready to fight and die for Dominic at any moment.

Dominic continued to look at the CCTV footage and didn't answer, he was focused on what was going on in the footage. In the footage he saw Kang Lei standing at the fruit and veg aile for sometime, he looked as though he was taking to someone his hand was wrapped tightly around BoJing's arms and he appeared scared. From the angle of the camera the other persons face wasn't captured on the footage or on any of the cameras within the store including those of the outside the building. Dominic realised whoever it was they had purposely avoided the cameras, he was right this was planned, he clinched his fist his pheromones threatening to explode from his body when he saw Kang Lei and BoJing walking slowly towards the direction of this stranger then disappearing off the screen.

Dominic felt his body panic and he quickly hit the rewind button trying to see if he could see where Kang Lei had gone. Michael looked at him confused what was going on "Dominic....Dominic....DOMINIC!" He shouted finally getting the mans attention. "What happened? I have never seen you like this even when death his staring you right in the face." Michael stood impatiently waiting, he wanted to help as soon as possible but he needed to know the situation.

Dominic finally collected himself after seeing Michael, he couldn't waste anymore time in a daze he needed to find Kang lei and BoJing he looked straight at Michael and with little explanation spoked in a ice cold tone, "Kang Lei and BoJing are missing, they left with someone on Sunday evening while they were out shopping. Did you manage to find out any information about the WuXain's and the children's home they had sold Kang Lei too?".

If Michael want was unfamiliar with Dominic he wouldn't believe that the man before was even a little concerned as to how militant he spoke and with such coldness. It was as if he had no feelings towards kang Lei and BoJing and it was simply another mission. Michael knew this was a cover adapted by Dominic whenever he was extremely worried and not wanting to show this he became unemotional. He used this method to keep his team calmed and reassured that Dominic had everything under his control especially when they were to carry out a sensitive missions.

Michael was shocked at what Dominic said "missing?" Michael froze momentarily before continuing while Dominic looked at him blankly making Michael a little uneasy, "Ahem....I have looked into the Wuxian's and Kang Lei, but I can't see any connection between them and any children's homes. There was no children registered as Kang Lei or Xi WuXain in any of the children's home in the country. If am correct am sure that whatever they did was all done under the radar with no paper trail left behind, the only option now is asking the homes directly but then that would just alert the WuXain and the homes directors.... do you think kang Lei's disappearance has some connection to all this?". He asked already guessing the correlation between the two.

Dominic tapped his finger in his desk, immersed in his thoughts, he looked expressionless at nothing as though he was planning something before he finally responded. "We need to find out what the WuXain's know, I recall kang Lei had stated BoJing's father had died, but MiMi WuXain had said something interesting when she was here. She said 'he's been looking for you and that bastard kid of his', this must mean Kang Lei had lied about BoJing's father dying and has been hiding from him and the WuXain's.....am sure that after seeing Kang Lei that day, she contacted him again, let's go back to the base we need to plan" Dominic said firmly raising from his seat and headed to the door with Michael in tow.
