It took me some time, but I found it to be the countryside of Kanto.

The village I live in used to belong to the country of Bharata, a small peninsular country that joined the Indigo Pokémon League, after witnessing the rapid development of the continent under Oak's leadership.

Bharatsa has a long record of switching sides in the ongoing conflict between Kanto and Johto.

The influence of Bharatsa's past loyalties can be seen in the local pokemon species, which is a combination of Kanto and Johto.

It was a pain to read such a long National dex even if I have a adult mind. By now, you must have gotten the idea that I am a reincarnated kid.

I'm about 6 years old now, but the most glaring thing, other than Pokémon, is that I'm way tougher than I ever was in my previous life. I mean, seriously durable.

Turns out, in this Pokémon world, humans are sturdier and have higher limits. It's all because of Pokémon's training and bonds.

If you think it is some mystic nonsense, then it is a resounding No.

Dr. Samuel Oak, who holds multiple degrees in Pokémon studies as well as human studies, has scientifically proven this fact.

In fact, he established a new subject called Pokemon-human relations based on this.

At least I know who the students are going to curse in this world. The guy started a whole new field of study. It's deep and tough; you can think of it like a new study as significant as math or physics, but it's interlinked with all of them.

Through countless generations of partnering with Pokémon, humans have unlocked new limits.

Take, for instance, well-known families like the Blackthorn Clan from Johto, Lavender tower, or Sabrina, who dedicate themselves to particular types and appear to reap amplified rewards.

For example, Blackthorn members seem to share a distaste for the Clefairy line or Azumarill line with their Dragon Pokémon, but to a mild extent. The distaste here is only a bad first impression.]

My trusty AI–It is my greatest advantage, second only to the advantage of possessing my past life memories.

It's hard to digest my situation sometimes. You see, except for my appearance, everything I knew changed in this life. Even my achievement being a doctor that filled me with pride is useless here.

I'm decades behind the latest findings and my knowledge is not useful in most treatment options. I at least don't need to start from scratch again. And with my AI, I am rapidly catching up. These knowledge points are just one way it is useful.

Strolling down the street from the library, I caught sight of a Pokémon battle unfolding nearby. A Beedrill was locked in combat with a Butterfree.

I recognized the trainers to be part of the Bees- 10-year-old Sam, Trainer of Beedrill, and his opponent is part of the Frees- Jon, Trainer of Butterfree.

To give you some context, I need to explain the current conditions of Bharatsa. Despite joining Kanto; it didn't lose its identity. Just by the sheer virtue of its long existence. 

Bharatsa's origin is this world's equivalent of the Indus Civilization, spanning from the Bronze Age.

As a result, the population in Bharatsa is the second highest in the world, just behind the Kingdom of Rota, 

In ancient Bharatsa's nobility started encouraging all their relatives, including distant cousins, to gain Pokemon. Quite opposite to others in that era.

My thoughts on it is that the king of Ancient Bharatsa was smart enough to see the benefits of everyone having Pokémon. So, he encouraged it, wanting the fastest result using the selfishness of humans.

It succeded with everyone in Bharatsa having a pokemon for centuries.

The Pokemon League prided itself on the fact everyone having a pokemon. Unlike Bharatsa Legue had the Pokeball invention, using which it becomes easier for League to promote trainer culture without resorting the King's method of using human greed..

Bharatsa on the other hand, has eroded. Each citizen in Bharatsa can claim a clan lineage, each attached to a specific Pokemon or Type. Such things gave rise to intense social conflicts.

The battle going is one such example. A representation of Bees and Frees.

===JON VS SAM===

Jon, with a confident grin, commanded his Butterfree to take the lead. "Butterfree, start with Sleep Powder!"

The Bug pokemon, responded by fluttering its wings to release sleep power. The aim of the move was obvious from the name. It was to lull Sam's Beedrill into sleep and gain an early advantage.

However, Sam is difficult to surprise. Based on my observations of him, he has always been sharp in mind; it showed with his next move.

 "Beedrill, fly above the powdering Butterfree. Use the chance to counter with Poison Jab!"

The aggressive Beedrill zipped through the air, avoiding the sleep-inducing particles, and began charging his drill with venom for the counterattack.

SIGH

I could see that both Pokemon were inexperienced, based on the time wasted to charge the moves. Jon used the delay adeptly.

 "Butterfree, Psybeam now!"

Butterfree charged up the psychic move just on the virtue of the psychic energy's characteristics. I wonder if he knew of this or if he simply blurted out the right move.

WHROOOM

With a graceful twist, Butterfree unleashed a dazzling display of Psybeam, a rainbow-coloured beam that cut through the air.

Yet, Sam remained calm and issued a calculated response. A point to him in my mental book for doing that.

"Beedrill, use Harden to defend against Psybeam!"

Beedrill covered itself in a protective layer, hardening its exoskeleton.

 BANG

The clash between Psybeam and Harden showed how complex Pokémon battles are in real life, unlike the games.

CRACKLE CRACKLE

Psychic-type moves are strong against Beedrill's poison type. But if Beedrill uses Harden, it can weaken Psybeam's power. Pokémon battles have many factors to consider, like the type of energy, the move used, and the target.

For example, a Zapdos attacking a Geodude will kill it easily. In the same way, a fire attack can be effective against a water type if attacked on specific parts, like eyes.

The vice versa case is also true. For example, the Blastoise line's shell seems to withstand thunder and grass attacks somewhat, making the shell a unique feature to them. 

Pokemon Battling is complex beyond words, requiring all this knowledge.

I turned my vision back to the ongoing dance of Bug Pokemon, that would make Madara Uchiha nod in approval. Beedrill's yellow fur had turned red in some spots, and its drills had lost some of its shine. Butterfree has beautiful wings and loses its lustre with a hole in one of them.

This is Pokemon Training.

Such a wound is rare in the wild, but for a trainer pokemon, it is a normal occurrence. The trainer pokemon like can comeback from each battle- healthier and stronger due to the Pokemon centre facilities, breeding, and hard work,

WHROOM

"Beedrill, use quick attack to fly away from the Psybeam"

But I could see that the Beedrill had strayed far away from its opponent, bit by bit under Jon's commands. A mistake, considering the matchup between the two.

 Jon, with a triumphant gleam in his eyes, seized the opportunity given by Beedrill's exhaustion, "Butterfree, finish it with Solar Beam!"

The Bug-type Pokémon gathered grass-type energy, giving a glow to its wings.

Sam's Beedrill, seeing the impending threat, attempted to dodge. A smart move considering the enormous distance and the move set it has.

A pity if it had Venoshock, the fast long range move can disrupt the Solar beam charge.

Sam shouted for his partner, "Come on, Beedrill. You could do it, Dodge."

I can commend him for his effort, but it was too late.

The Solar Beam erupted, a burst of energy surging towards Beedrill.

BOOM 

The impact was overwhelming, and the Solar Beam is a bit OP for newbie battles. It is proven when the Solar Beam sent Beedrill crashing into the Trees, blowing up smoke in its wake.

The smoke cleared to reveal the Beedrill crashed in a small pit, with its eyeball rotating in a spiral.

The spiral eye of defeated pokemon, is an interesting feature of Pokémon. In anime, It felt stupid when I first I saw it. But, in real life, it was even more ridiculous.

The reason is unknown, and currently still being studied. But, it is funny to see a swirl appear in pokemon's eye.

That's where Jon's victory was announced.

With a confident grin, Jon recalled his exhausted Butterfree. "You did great, Butterfree. Rest up."

Sam, acknowledging defeat, sighed and returned Beedrill to its Poké Ball. Jon couldn't resist a teasing smile. "Well, Sam, seems like I win."

Sam, though visibly frustrated, managed a nod. "This isn't over, Jon. Next time, the Beedrill will triumph."

Jon playfully saluted. "Looking forward to my next win, then."

The onlookers, drawn to the spectacle, murmured among themselves. Jon, revelling in his victory, couldn't resist a parting taunt. "Maybe your Beedrill just needs a bit more training. Or perhaps you should pray to be born among the Frees in the next life. We have the winning touch."

Sam shot a defiant look at the common saying of Frees. "We'll see about that, Jon. The Bees will always soar higher."

His Beedrill screeched at that, showing his approval at the comment.

Bug types and rock/ground types were the most common types for Trainers in Bharatsa since ancient times, despite it being a peninsula filled with rivers.

It's odd, but there's a reason for it. The Pokémon League here isn't fully in effect.

[Pokemon League:  

A governing unique to the Pokemon world, capable of allowing everyone under its shade to achieve anything.

Its role is to manage the Pokémon species in the wild by planting wild berry trees and regulating species migration.

Essentially, League is responsible for both humans and pokemons.

For example, In Untamed Wild without the touch of Pokemon League, it is common to see Arboks eating baby Pokemon, pokemon eggs, etc, as just a part of their nature. But after the programs of the Pokemon League, they shifted the Arbok's diet towards planted berry trees. Of course, if the Arbok is unwilling, the league will take measures.

Over time, the wild Pokemon will receive and understand the message of change, thanks to their intelligence, and as a result, the Wild becomes tame, with its own rules, becoming much less life-threatening for the prospective Pokemon trainers.]

It works well in the main Kanto which soon spread to other regions. The sheer amount of development and peace from this convinced multiple countries around the world to join these Pokemon Leagues. Bharatsa was the same, but it was a different ball game.

The League's policy is difficult to fulfil here. Not to mention the lack of interest from officials and the strong, untamed wildlife. The most important reason is - gangs and clans.

See, we've got gangs here, from street level up to the country level. They change every day, fueled by grudges and politics, and even garner public support. It's like a constant turf war.

It is further exaggerated by each area differing completely from each other, from language to culture.

The former royal family of Bharatsa, Tyrannius held the divided country togather.

Of course, the other problem is the clans. Just as I explained beforehand, every citizen has some clan lineage.

According to what I heard, before joining the Indigo League, people could only associate with others from the same clans.

Even now, each clan forms a network of relationships from the farmer to even the royal family - For example, [a part of Rock Clan, meaning their preference for their Rock type.]

The clans may not have some secret methods or like. No, sir, only direct family members strictly have access to such things. Rather, it's just their signature Pokémon, something the members watched all their life while growing up - making them better at training them in different classes compared to the average trainer. Just as humans do humans. They formed biases. A fact becoming known nowadays. 

The example is Jon and Sam, who trace themselves to respective clans - Frees and Bees. Each member had their representative Pokémon for generations; they hated each other's guts with passion in the past.

After recent decades of League influence, it turned into a well-meaning rivalry.

In this case, Jon and Sam from two different clans are family friends.

I followed Sam, who was leaving, hoping for a chance to befriend him. From there, if luck shines on me, I could get a Pokémon myself. I might hurry a bit, but having a Pokémon early is a benefit I don't want to lose.
