Im glad this got a comic, but like whats up with the names and his hair? Is he going to be “Whitestar” instead of Blackstar? “Mr.White”? “WhitePhantom”?

Do not be mistaken by the name of the comic. It is nothing like the novel, and is in no way kept honest of it. The personality of the main protagonist as well has his physical features have all been warped. The female characters have been over sexualized, with even their names changed. Once more, they couldn't even keep to the real names from the actual novel, and have even created an entirely new and weird backstory for the protagonist. Maybe this story could be good on it's own, but it shouldn't carry the label of the legendary mechanic. However, as it contains said title then it must be known how much of a let down this comic is to myself as an avid follower of the novel, who has been after a comic version for so long. Creative freedom only goes so far, when this novel bastardises the amazing story and character development that the true novel has. It basically all seems like some offbrand pirated fan made piece.

Bruh they really did my boy dirty. Everytime a solid chinese light novel gets a comic they throw it into the dumpster with bad translation, sub-par art, and terrible rewrites. Read the novel, ignore this comic.

you people cant even get the name of the story on the cover right but that not all you did, significant(depending on the case) changes to the characters/locations name/appearance. This going to get the overgeared treatment except we might not get a better reboot of the manwha

Okay so it’s ‘the same’ story except we’ve already had the name of the setting changed (galaxy -> star ocean) and other things (Germinal Group -> Incubation Organization) have changed as well.. this isn’t giving me much hope about the quality but I’ll attempt to keep reading since I love the base story so much.

I was super excited to see this since I am a big fan of the novel, but holy heck did they ruin it. If you've never read the novel, this isn't so bad, but if you have, cover your eyes.

Nothing like the Original LN and i would heavily recommend just reading that instead, just from the first few chapters i can tell there will be big changes

Too far from the Novel... looks like the ones who did this one didn't even "try" to read the novel... Its so disappointing in so many levels, parts and situations...

why doesn't Hila have pants? why is black star white hair? why is it called incubation organization? why is this trash?............,........

This abysmal recretion of the amazing legendary mechanic novel makes me want to depopulate a schoolyard with lead. Do yourself a favor and read the novel instead.

I was expecting so much from this comic because the novel was amazing and had great story progression and charachter development with an interesting and exciting plot. I feel like this comic did not even reach the starting line In comparison to the novel they changed the names of almost everything so far and why why why did you make hila sorry Hella into a thirst trap. im pretty sure almost everyone who read the novel didnt imagine her like this in the slightest. Even tho there is only 3 chapters out theg already changed some of the story (yes i know that somethings had to get cut down to save time and make things easier for the artist, but seriously) This comic is kind of a let down whelp back to the novel I go. But good work on the art 👌

YESS! It finally exists!! But come on, why is it a thirst comic?! I want the guns, the blasts, and the wicked Black Panthom. Not Hila ... doing who knows what.

Drawing Quality : 2 Star : Not bad but not the best, i didn't have high expectations as I have already see other Chinese comic. Story development :1 Star : BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD, even if they don't follow the event from the novel perfectly, the death scene of Hu and his wife at the camp was so rushed, no emotions, we don't even see his dead wife, nothing. We also see him in the room of Hila for some days ? Why ? Fan-service ? The novel didn't have any but it worked pretty well without Character Design: 2 Star: I can tolerate a bit about the Han Xiao but Hila...I like fan-service but there is a limit to how much you can disrespect a character like that. High Expectation Bad Reality Just stay on the novel it's better.
