Chapter 1Welcome to Everia [Chapter 1]

From birth, everything in your life is predetermined. Scryers check your stats and abilities at birth, at a glance, understanding your full potential and maximum level.

Your maximum level is based off the age at which you will die of natural causes. You can still be killed in battle before you reach this age or level.

At my birth, I was destined for greatness. I was a rare case, born with 3 abilities. 2 standard and 1 hidden. At a glance, you'd think my life would've been set. But fate had a crueler joke planned for me.

<<Negative Ability: Lowered Physical Prowess and Growth X10>>

I was cursed to level up at one tenth of the speed of everyone else. On top of that, instead receiving one attribute point when I leveled up, I would receive one attribute every ten levels. This wasn't the end of my misfortune.

<<Negative Ability: Decreased Luck X10>>

With unusually lower luck, the chances of getting any decent jobs were nonexistent. If I managed to become a dungeon diver, I would almost never see a single piece of gear.

<<Hidden Ability: ???>>

The scryers knew of only 5 hidden abilities. Each increasingly rare, but with my previous abilities, ultimately useless. I was cast aside, the first Failure Class in over 100 years.

I was given a Score of 6, (The current max S-Class is 15,000) weaker than even the peasant class. My maximum level was found to be 22, meaning the oldest I could live was 22 years old.

I have lived a peaceful life, helping my outcasted parents in whatever ways I can. My father is a farmer, my mother a seamstress. I have 2 brothers as well, both 20 and becoming farmers like father. In my family, there are 4 Peasant Class, and 1 Failure Class.

I open my eyes from my nap, looking into the branches of the tree I was resting under. The wind gently rustling the leaves and my black hair. As I sit up I take a deep breath then sigh.

"It's such a nice day today."

I say as I stretch and stand up.

"Status."

I say as my stats page shows up in front of me.

Name: Dante Fenrix

Age: 19

Level: 12

[Stats]

HP: 2

Strength: 2

Agility: 1

Reflexes 1

Speed: 1

Constitution: 1

Intelligence: 1

Exp: 450

Exp to Next Level: 600

<<Negative Ability: Decreased Luck X10>>

<<Negative Ability: Lowered Physical Prowess and Growth X10>>

"Close status."

I say as I sigh and walk back towards a pile of firewood. I grab the axe and swing it down with all my might into a small log. As the blade digs into the top, barely cutting it, I pull it back again and swing once more. After 40 swings I manage to cut the 1 foot log in half. I repeat this several times. After an hour of cutting logs, a bead of sweat rolls down my face as I see a notification in front of me.

[+1 Exp Gained!]

I managed to cut 50 logs in the hour I was working, resulting in the net gain of 1 experience point. I sigh deeply then haul the logs a few hundred feet to the house over 10 trips, 5 logs per trips.

I dump the logs onto a pile as my brother, Gregory, walks by and starts talking.

"That's a little more than yesterday. Did you have someone help you?"

He asks jokingly as I laugh.

"I actually spent my first attribute point the other day. I put into strength."

I say as he nods approvingly.

"Well, keep up the good work little bro."

He says as he walks towards a shed with lock on it. As he opens the shed I head into the small village beside our home. The unnamed village we live beside has only around 20 people living in it, all of which are incredibly nice people. As I walk around I see a few people relaxing outside, enjoying the nice weather.

"Hey, Dante! Can you come help me for a bit?"

I hear a woman say from in front of me.

"Of course!"

I shout back as I walk to her house. As I walk up the stairs at the front of her house, I see her holding her cane and smiling.

"I just need help setting up a table for a picnic tonight."

She says as I nod. I follow her to the backdoor of the house and help her carry cloth, candles, plates, and glasses to the table.

"How are your parents doing?"

She asks as I look at her.

"Well, father is always working, so we don't see him very often. Mother is often inside cleaning, cooking, or mending our clothes. She still makes outfits for other villagers from time to time though. Gregory and Klandiz are trying to follow in father's footsteps to be farmers. Well, Gregory is. Klandiz still has his mind dead set on being a Dungeon Diver."

I say as she laughs.

"I'm surprised that you don't share that dream to be honest."

She says as I laugh nervously.

"I'd die on the first dungeon dive. You know my stats, I'm the weakest person in this village."

I reply as she pats my back.

"Don't worry, we can always pray that The Maker gifts you strength."

She says as I nod.

"The Maker."

I whisper as she thanks me for helping her. I zone out slightly and now before heading back home.

The Maker is god of our world. He is responsible for all of our food, all of our happiness, everything positive was given by The Maker.

The Demon King is the giver of <<Negative Abilities>>, heartache, and pain. The Demon King is also responsible for "The Time of Desolation."

The Time of Desolation was almost a thousand years ago. In that time, the Demon King came to Everia and wiped out over 60% of the human population. That was also the time in which worshipping The Maker became the main religious view.

A/N: Hey, dear reader... read the book, you'll love it. There will be lemons as always, just not with the same intensity and frequency as my last book. I plan to focus more on the story and relationships than flavour scenes at every turn. Though the main character is not a villain type, he isn't a goodie two shoes either. No Rape. No NTR. No Yuri. No Netori. I plan to write something where the MC's harem aren't just brainless meat sacks, but actually impact the story and the MC. Read the book, you'll love it! I've never had to give a negative or at least a low review before, if I don't like a novel then I wouldn't even feel the need to review it. But! I just really have to say something and mark somethings out. 1: this is a novel with a lot of potential, the potential for what it can become and how great an experience reading it could be is a whooping 8 out of 10. But... 2: the characters are too shallow and they have depth to them. I couldn't get invested in the characters most especially the main character. No obvious growth was shown from him having a lack of abilities in the early chapters, no show of interaction with his family (a proper one) that would have made the readers feel more invested in his revenge. 3: he has no emotions whatsoever that someone who just lost his entire family could show. Insteads he goes on a so called random out of nowhere mission to recruit people for his revenge, and kills people and other creatures with the same, ease and finesse the people who killed his family used. 4: what the hell is with him having conversations with his enemies and learning skills from them. A guild that's said to be evil and ruthless, and major leader would leave a major threat to his guild to work around, that's unrealistic BS! 5: what's with the pace! I can't get invested in his power ups and derive no joy from it. Even if you want to make him op, there should be balance and reason and proper focus on his abilities and the things he learns. But instead he's random, not understanding skills or the usefulness, or learning to get stronger and growing his influence before going after his revenge. For a 19 year old he's pretty stupid. 6: you make him op, but as a way to drag the story on the strained plot you introduce stronger characters. If I'll be honest, I'll advice you to rewrite the novel and take it slow. In sixty chapters you've written the story and adventures in 200+ chapters and skimmed over so much information. 7; the world building sucks! There no highlight on environment, culture, traditions, religion, wildlife, politics, even the guild system. No backstory for some of the major side characters, nothing at all. Bottom line, please rewrite the novel and be more invested in it's details. Take your time and write, and feel what you right, but keep it grounded as much as possible. Explore your characters and their feelings and make them relatable. Thanks for the hard work you've put into this.

I read up to chapter 16 and really didn't like it that much. The points cited may not be in order. 1 - His family (Village) dies and from what I understand he just felt angry and passed (So to speak) despite going in search of revenge. 2 - As much as it has an accelerated pace, it doesn't really count, the family dies and so 1 second of mourning and will train skills, etc. The character appeared there reviving the mc and didn't even say his reason for being there or something, he just appeared, just like the other characters. 3 - Without more or less he will recruit criminals for his guild, not even 1 day knows and trusts despite being criminals. 4 - The guy was there to kill him and was giving a tip on how he could get stronger, like, what do you mean?? The guild is an assassin, every weekly kill report, how will let a weakling get away with a tip on how to get stronger. 5 - The mc even being weak currently goes and attacks the guild known as an A rank and criminal in broad daylight ‚adventurers die every day but he goes and kills in the middle of town and nothing happens‚ being an F rank that even killed guards in the other town. He attacked a guild member and the news about who killed him, the strength of the mc‚ the order to kill him was very quick, the time it took for them to change their clothes. 6 - It lacks a lot of details, seriously, if you tell a little more the story will be very good, even at a fast pace, at least the beginning needs to have details about the world itself, the mc, the other characters. . Well, it might just be rash on my part, after all I've read up to chapter 16 and it's over 100 chapters, it might be better later as the story progresses... Well, good luck. I'll give 5 stars for translation (I'm reading translated so I don't know if it's good) 5 star per release (despite not knowing the release frequency or if it's still with it)‚ 1 star per development‚ character designer and background world. Well‚ sorry for errors in the comment‚ translator.
