Hunting Wolves [Chapter 50]

"How are you alive!?"

He shouts as I glare at him. As I laugh, I feel my heart pounding and hands tingling.

"I'm sure you heard what I did to Yela. And Alesti isn't back to protect you, is he?"

I ask, taunting him slightly. He grits his teeth and starts to pull out his dagger, but before he can grab, it I crush his hand. As he screams, I pull my hand up slightly and completely crush his wrist as well. He tries to pull away but I quickly reach down and crush both of his ankles.

I hear townspeople screaming as the man desperately tries to crawl away with his left hand.

"You took everything from me."

I growl while putting my foot on the back of his left knee, and crushing it into the ground. He screams loudly, bawling and begging me to stop.

"I'm going to take everything you love, slowly."

I grit my teeth as I feel my blood boiling with rage.

"It wasn't personal! I-I was hired to do it!"

He yells as I put my foot on his other knee and laugh.

"You lie! Why would anyone hire you to kill our village!?"

I crush his other knee as he screams even louder and sobs in the dirt.

"K-Klandiz hired us!"

He shouts as I attempt to roll him over, but accidentally rip him in half.

"BLANKK, REVIVE HIM NOW!"

I scream as he quickly walks over and brings him back to life. As Maldu opens his eyes, he starts shaking.

"N-no please! I promise I'm not lying!"

He yells as I lean down and glare into his eyes.

"Why would my brother hire you!? And why would you kill who hired you?!"

I shout as he shakes and continues crying.

"N-no, he's not dead. He lives outside of the town. He's always training, trying to get stronger."

Maldu says as I glare at him. After a few seconds of silence, I take a deep breath and look around. I see nearly a hundred townsfolk watching us in fear and horror.

"Dad?"

I hear a voice say quietly. As I look over, I see a small boy being held back by an older man. He's looking at Maldu with teary eyes. Maldu sees me watching him and yells.

"Bara, run! Get away from here!"

I quickly look at Maldu.

"Oh no, I'm about to show you what you did to me. I'm going to show you what it feels like to lose everything you live for."

I say as I move over to the boy before anyone can react. I quickly pick him up in my arms and carry him over to Maldu carefully. As I set the boy down, he falls next to Maldu and cries. Maldu looks at me and shakes his head.

"Please don't, he's not involved with any of this!"

I laugh and lay my hands on Maldu and his son's head.

"I want you to look into his eyes, as I rip him from you forever."

I smile as tears stream down Maldu's face. Maldu grits his teeth and takes a deep breath.

"Please, I'll give you whatever you want! Just leave him alone!"

He begs as I sigh.

"I want my family back, and you'll know my pain soon."

I say as Vex touches my shoulder.

"Doesn't this seem a bit much? Just kill him, let the kid go."

Vex says as I glare at him.

"Whoops, my hand slipped."

I reply as I splatter the child against the ground. Vex grits his teeth and grabs my shoulder.

[+110,500 HP]

I hear Maldu screaming in anguish as I stand up and stare at Vex.

"THAT WAS AN INNOCENT! THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THAT CHILD TO DIE!"

He screams as I narrow my vision and grit my teeth.

"So, was my family not innocent?"

I reply as he stares at me blankly. He sighs and lets go of me.

"This is your revenge, I may not support it but I won't interfere. Even though right now, I would kill you if you were anyone else."

Vex growls as I smile.

"I see. Well, I'll just finish this quickly."

I reply as I hear footsteps behind me. In one swift move, I spin around and slam my fist down on what was running towards me. I see a wolf laying lifeless on the ground with its skull completely shattered and exploded against the ground. Maldu screams further in anguish, clenching the hand of his son and reaching towards the wolf.

I sigh and kick him in the face, ripping through him and into the stone building he was leaned against.

"[Telekinesis 5]."

I crush the building like a wad of paper and flatten it to the ground. I see blood flowing from the stones and cracks as townspeople scream and run away.

"Are we the bad guys?"

Carrina asks as I look over my shoulder.

"No matter how good you think you are, you are always the villain in someone's eyes. I'm going to go look for my brother."

I mumble as I start walking towards the outskirts of the town. After walking in silence for a while, I see a small house with a large pile of wood outside. As I walk closer I hear a familiar voice.

"Dante? Is that you?"

I freeze as my heart races with anticipation. I look back to see a man with tied back purple hair and a very muscular frame.

"It is, what are you doing here?"

He asks quietly as I smile. Instead of boiling rage over the accusations of what he did, I feel a sense of relief that someone in my family is still alive.

"Klandiz, it's nice to see you again."

We stare at each other for a moment before he walks up to me and smiles.

"Maker blessed me, you're alive."

I hold out my fist, but he quickly hugs me. His hug feels really weak, but I can tell he's hugging me as hard as he can. I refrain from hugging back, because I'd kill him.
