Hey guys! This is the Author. I decided to make this short note because I just wanted to say some things before the first chapter.
First of all, this is my first story, at least the first one I'm investing time and effort in. That is also the reason I decided to write over 30k words before publishing the story.
Secondly, there is no monetary goal behind writing this. I'm doing this purely for my enjoyment. Of course, I will still strive to provide good quality. BUT, since I'm doing this as a hobby, I cannot promise perfect consistency of the upload schedule.
I'm also publishing this story on at least one more site (w.e.b.n.o.v.e.l & maybe f.a.n.f.i.c.t.i.o.n.n.e.t) if you're more comfortable reading on there.

I started writing this story mainly because of my dissatisfaction with the original one. Obviously Tensura is still an amazing story with great world-building and one of the best power-systems, but I, and most of the readers, still found some things lacking in it. Now I'm not saying than I can write the story better than Fuse (the Author of Tensura), but I will still try to change it to suit my taste.
The main character of my story isn't Rimuru, in fact Rimuru isn't even present in this story. The main character will be an original made by me. However, all other characters from the original story will be there. (I know some of you all read fanfictions purely for the purpose of seeing more of your fav. character.)
This fanfiction is based on the LIGHT NOVEL, NOT the Webnovel!! For the people who have only watched the anime or read the manga, both of those follow the story of the Light Novel. The Webnovel is non-canon and can be called a separate story alltogether.
But also remember that there will be spoilers for the Light Novel. As of writing this, 20 Volumes of the Light Novel have been released, so please remember that.
This fanfiction will contain explanations of various powers and abilities throughout. Since the world of Tensura is so vast, there are many things which are not explained in the novels. In such cases, I will make up an logical explanation myself, one which does not contradict any other information given in the novels.
But I hope you readers understand, that due to the sheer size of the original series, I can't perfectly remember all the facts, so there will be some inconsistencies here and there, but I will always try to reduce them.
Now, to the next topic, the MC's personality. Or more like morality. Different readers have different preferences, and I've also observed that readers on different platforms have different preferences. For example, Webnovel readers USUALLY prefer more Evil MCs while FFN.net readers prefer relatively kinder ones.
In this story, I'm trying to make the MC as complex, realistic and interesting as possible. There will be character development, though it isn't the main focus of the story.
The World of Tensura is fundamentally different from our world. Power is Truth and Power is Justice over there. Our ideologies simply don't apply, especially when talking about monsters, who are canonically less emotionally developed than humans.
Some of you might find the MC too ruthless, while some may find him too naive and forgiving. BUT, he isn't a one-dimensional archetype, he's a proper character and hence possess multiple qualities which differ according to the situations he is in.
However I can assure you that he will neither be a goody-two-shoes kindhearted type of individual, nor will he be a completely heartless psychopath.
I always welcome constructive criticism, and will gladly take suggestions to improve this story.
