I love your story! The development and the plot are outstanding. As it continues to draw you in and pulls at the heartstrings with heavy emotions. When I read the first sentence was, I hooked instantly, and it goes into depth. 10/10 I recommend this to anyone. I told my friends and family to check it out. I’m so glad that I added this to my library. Thank you, Author!
Quality of writing is high, word choice and use of grammar are well above the standard. The story itself is also very compelling, though due to its brevity actually going over it in the review would defeat the purpose of reading the book. I see this book as a level above others on the sight, though I do wish it was a bit longer.
This book has some neat ideas and thoughts. The problem is the confusing state in which the format and writing are in. I'm not sure if the author and editors did it on purpose but it's very disorientating and it had the opposite effect on me. The unorthodox format led to me not reading anything after chapter 3. I'm not joking when I say that the format was changing constantly from regular novel format and to scriptwriting. It felt like the writer was constantly switching between each other. So, my conclusion? Good effort, bad execution. That is all.
Captivated from the start of chapter 1. The opening gave me the same vibe as a monologue from a well done Japanese slice of life anime, the kind with the monochrome background and the kanji trailing down the screen like a haiku. It's not an easy read emotionally. This is a dark novel that sounds like a collection of life experiences, with introspective gems throughout the entire journey it takes its readers on. It's a heavy read but in a good way, the kind that makes readers think deeply about the value of life and their self-worth as a human being. The subject matter hits close to home for me, personally, because it deals with depression and that's the branch of medicine I'm hoping to specialise in in the future. One thing I noted was the author's amazing ability to write realistic emotions. He described depression in an insightful way and one that I can see in the patients I've worked with. So for me, this was a huge plus. The writing itself is a mix of stream of consciousness and some parts even loosen into free form poetry. It's still being edited at the moment but I have high hopes for it because it's so beautiful. Lastly, a lot of the anecdotes that pepper the story are very relatable for the average reader. There are many references to incidents at school, which I think all of us would have experienced at some point in our lives, whether as actual participants or as bystanders. Would recommend, especially if you're looking for a philosophical read when it's raining out side and you're having your first morning coffee.
In all honesty, you are an amazing writer & author. Who I'd love to hear more from, as your stories are deep yet clear to understand. Also, thought-provoking which is just wonderful, as it can cause a person to have a deep discussion with themselves. Which is needed at times to better understand one's self and their position in life... However, please write more as the world needs people like you to create future leaders...
to be completely honest, this isn't my type of story, at all, but, that doesn't make it a bad story. however, aside from my personal preference, it is still flawed, like any other story, now, those flaws aren't that bad, there are slight things around the grammar and such, but other than that the writing is fine. but, the most important part of the story is, without a doubt, David. the reason he is more important is that the story is told from a series of letters, with David being the author, and in those letters he writes about his contemplation on the nature of humanity, with the book being mostly an internal philosophical debate as David ponders whatever subject he tackles that particular chapter. in conclusion, it is an introspective piece of media that drags you deeper and deeper into your own thoughts until you finally land in a place of contemplation you will never forget nor want to forget if you let it. it is not a book for everyone, but if you are the type to enjoy the rarely seen artistic and thoughtful media in a world focused on grabbing your attention for as long as possible, I think you will enjoy this book.
As the author said, ‘I feel it was only reasonable to start from the pits’…well I must say, the author is right. All stories need not start with rainbow and sunshine. Though I must admit the opening of the novel surprised me. It was packed and throws you in an emotional rollercoaster. It is not just interesting but also leaves an impact on you. I won’t spoil it for you with disclosures but it deals with troubles of teens which we sometimes miss. I am looking forward to read more.
