Chapter 97:- Meeting Momo

When Izuku's exam finished he waited outside for Maki to come.

While waiting for her, he was looking around him, observing all the people, while also reevaluating all the quirks and quirks users he had seen in the entrance exam both in his group as well as in other groups.

And he must say, he got to see there were a lot of people with fascinating quirks, which held lots of potential, but sadly their users were dumb, and all they did was the basic, thinking it to be the limit.

When in reality, it is all but the tip of an iceberg, and they could do much more, all they had to do was some training and be creative.

Sadly they were all muscles and no brain, so that was not a possibility, and of course, Izuku wasn't going to help them, why should he, they aren't his girlfriends that he should help them.

He had his eyes closed as he was running mental simulations of all the ways he would have used other people's quirks and still come to the top.

Like he came across a purple midget, who was just his knee length, who could throw sticky balls from his scalp, even if that quirk looked so stupid and wasteful.

He didn't know how many things he could do even with that quirk, had he not been a pervert trying to grope girls or stick to them, and used his brain to make his quirk stronger, he could have had a better score.

There were various things he could have done, like in terms of Offensive Techniques:

He could have created a Sticky Minefield, by blasting a large area with Pop-Off spheres, creating a treacherous battlefield where opponents get bogged down and vulnerable, he can even hide landmines under his sticky balls.

Bouncing Barrage where he could throw multiple spheres in quick succession, using their stickiness to ricochet off surfaces and hit targets from unexpected angles.

He can make a Sticky Net Launcher by fashioning a slingshot or other projectile weapon from their own hair for long-range sticky attacks.

He can Improvise Restraints by binding opponents with their spheres, either directly or by sticking them to surfaces around them.

He can make an Explosive Launch by coating a sphere with flammable material or grenade or anything like that and pop it at a distance, creating a sticky mini-bomb.

In terms of Defensive/Utility Techniques: He can make a shield by forming a sticky, protective barrier around him using the sticky balls to deflect attacks or projectiles.

He can make a sticky bridge by creating a temporary bridge across gaps or over obstacles, manipulating the stickiness of the sticky balls.

He can make a sticky platform by launching a sphere upwards and popping it in mid-air, forming a bouncy platform to reach higher ledges.

He can use it to make traps and snares by setting hidden traps by leaving strategically placed sticky spheres. He can make climbing aids by sticking spheres to surfaces to aid in climbing or rappelling, just like rock climbing.

There are some unconventional Techniques as well like a sonic boom by popping a large sphere rapidly, creating a powerful sonic shockwave.

He can make a sticky smoke screen by popping multiple spheres with smoke grenades inside, creating a disorienting cloud, he can do the same with flashbangs as well.

He can make Sticky Decoys by forming a duplicate of himself from spheres like a snowman, confusing the opponents. He can throw sticky signal flares by launching spheres filled with colorful powders or chemicals for signaling purposes.

There are many combination Techniques as well like a slippery slide by combining Pop-Off spheres with water or grease to create a slippery slide for maneuvering or escaping.

He can make a magnetic minefield by sprinkling Pop-Off spheres with metal shavings and using a magnet to control their movement or use a person with a magnetism-related quirk.

He can also do ballistic propulsion by launching himself by sticking spheres to a wall and popping them in rapid succession. Sticky Bombardment by using spheres as

projectiles for other quirks, like Momo's Creation Quirk. Living Zipline by forming a sticky zipline by dangling from a series of interconnected spheres.

As he finished going through the various possibilities that quirk could be used in, he sensed Maki coming, so he opened his eyes facing the direction she came from.

However she wasn't alone, she was accompanied by a tall teenage girl with a mature physique. She has long black hair, generally tied into a spiky ponytail with a large strand hanging on the right side of her face.

Her eyes are big yet sharp, dark in color, and paired with short eyebrows set in a determined expression.

She was wearing a gym suit that was unzipped, exposing her black sports bra and her perfect waistline, as she could be seen zipping the gym suit.

Izuku looked around her and saw many boys gawking at her, yet she seemed unfazed by it, as if she was mentally prepared for something like that to happen, or she was used to it

Izuku thought, 'She must be having a quirk which involves exposed skin for her to work, just like Midnight.'

As soon as he finished his thought Maki came to him happily as she hugged him instantly.

Izuku hugged Maki back, as he kissed her forehead, and he said, "So how was it?"

"It was great, I came first in my group, although I messed up in between, but she helped me with that, and it was because of her that I came first in the class, she's Momo, my new friend, she came second," said Maki.

Izuku looked up at Momo as he made eye contact with her and he said, "Thanks for helping her, I am Yamikumo Toji, nice to meet you," said Izuku as he extended his hand.

"No need to thank me Yamikumo san, it was a natural thing to do, anyone would have done that, I am Yaoyorozu Momo, nice to meet you," said Momo as she shook hands with Toji(Izuku).

"You are right, anyone could have done it, yet it was you who did it out of all the people present with her, you were the one who genuinely wished and helped her, and that is very important, and for that I thank you," said Izuku.

"You helped her, because of which she came first, and you second, if you wished you could have let her make a mistake and take the first position, but you decided to help her, and that's something very rare in this day and age, and that's very important to me," continued Izuku

"You are embarrassing me, Yamikumo Kun, I am sure she would have done the same thing if she were in my place," said Momo who was still holding Toji's hand as she had a blush on her face.

"You don't need to call me Yamikumo kun, you can use my given name Toji, Yaoyorozu san," said Izuku.

"If you say so then, Toji kun, you can also call me by my given name Momo," said Momo blush not leaving her face, this was the first time she was able to talk to someone who genuinely appreciated her.

It wasn't like she wasn't appreciated before, she was a child with golden spoons, a rich family, and a very versatile quirk.

She had everything she could ask for, and was surrounded by people, who brought her gifts, flattered her, and did what not to impress her, curry favor from her, but they weren't genuine.

It always had an ulterior motive hidden, whether it was to get her wealth, maintain good relations with Yaoyorozu family, her body, take her as their children's bride.

All the people she tried to befriend always had an ulterior motive behind it, as they didn't really want her, but the perks that came along with being with her, from whom her mother protected her till now.

While she was somewhat forced to understand the reason behind the compliments and unnecessary flattery so that she wouldn't be used by anyone.

Well if golden spoon had perks it also had its own set of drawbacks as well, and the drawback here was that she didn't have any friends, who genuinely wanted to be friends with her, and whom he could call friends.

So this was something totally new for her, she was being thanked for helping someone when neither of them knew who she was, or what her background was, she was just a student like them who came there to take UA entrance exams.

"How long do you plan to hold my boyfriend's hand with that silly expression of yours," said Maki with a blank face to Momo to bring her back to the real world.

"B-B-Boyfriend?" said Momo stuttering as her blush deepened.

"Yuppp," said Maki continuing. "He's my boyfriend," said Maki as she tightened her grip on Izuku.

Izuku just nodded.

Momo was embarrassed as she just loosened her grip on him, after she had slightly tightened her grip as if she didn't want to leave his hand.

She felt a sudden pain in her chest but she couldn't understand what it actually was as, she felt she lost something valuable, she just looked at Maki and said, "I'm sorry Maki san, I didn't know," said Momo as she broke the handshake.

"No need to be sorry, she's just teasing you," said Izuku ignoring the glares Maki was shooting, he knew how to brighten her mood so it wasn't a big deal.

Later on, they bantered about a few things as they came out of the exam grounds and Momo was back to normal again.

Things like Momo's family actively helping people who are quirkless, making their lives better, and doing whatever they can to make sure they are treated with respect.

They finally parted ways by exchanging contact info.
