i reaaaally hope you dont force a katana into the story cuz of the flame breathing style it would look super weeby and very out of place in the GOT setting there is no japan, just the china equivalent in Yi Ti and they would also have similar swords to the westerosi a kreigmesser sword with a V shaped guard would be the perfect shape for Ryans swordsmanship a messer is katana shaped and with the V guard he could still do the katana cuts and stances and still have some protection for his hands although does he really need it to be a sword? cant he wield a sword staff for more leverage? with valerian steel being eternally razor sharp and light, he couod probably cut 2 or 3 knights in half with one swipe of his staff sword with his breathing style + velerian blade + his trained body compounding into him being the greatest warior even without his bending plus the sword staff being a bit of a short polearm would be more useful in killing armored enemies while also not hindering him in CQC dueling in enclosed spaces like when he invades castles, ships and forts also I hope he also trains his soldiers with a different breathing style from his own Fire Breathing maybe Stone or Water to be either strong and sturdy or flexible and calm
