I guess that's what luck 10 can get you.
What Robert House at first thought to be a camouflage of tree branches and leaves covering the car, turned out to be an entire tree had toppled on top of said car. Somehow the storm had knocked over the crooked Massachusetts Northern Red Oak tree, causing the large trunk not only to smash into the vehicle, break through the front glass windshield, but also impale the waiting baby-face driver inside. Two agents had died on this mission, with the second of the Secret Service agent slumped dead, skull and chest cavity caved in by the unexpected impact and penetration of the unpruned oak tree. It looked to be something straight out of a final destination movie that the transmigrator John had seen in his previous life, the memory of those gruesome movies helped prevent House from flinching away from the accident before him. The getaway driver suffered extreme bad luck, the sort that far surpassed Robert's own, and all the young agent did was wait in his car for his senior partner. House, completely disbelieving the strange sight that he stumbled upon... again... let out a slow breath, before a creeping giddy infected him. The laughter came out as a short, dark, and disbelieving chuckle better suited to a villain than a rational student of a prestigious university.

Apparently, they were units specialized in harassment, hardened on the Eastern Front, along with several thousand veterans. And, according to the reports, he was there. The Russians had already warned us about that German devil from the Masurian swamps, a man who had become a logistical nightmare for them, dedicated to relentlessly dynamiting the fragile railway skeleton of the Russian Empire.

The Polish just can't catch a break.
Our only victory, if it could even be called that, consisted of proving that we had recovered a few hundred meters of land for our side, returning a small fraction of France at the cost of tens of thousands of dead. The other advantage was that the Germans had brought the Polish armies from the Eastern Front and were using them for their counteroffensives or to defend the first lines of trenches. Because of that, they were the ones suffering most of the casualties. Fortunately, they deserted whenever they had the chance, weakening the German defenses somewhat. It was a minor victory, almost miserable, but it was the only thing we had to show.

After WWI Italy became bankrupt even if they were on the winning side. This is much worse than that. Italy will not recover from this for a long time and the country will probably turn to extremist ideals to cope. This could become a breeding ground for Communist ideas much more than our world.

A grenade launcher could also be very effective to soften the enemy or launch smoke to make their mgs less effective.
Creating a special forces unit centered around the Baltic Duchy. It was time to perhaps design an assault rifle and put chemists and engineers to work on obtaining kevlar for me, while also putting doctors to work preparing for the Spanish flu.
