Chapter 2

Kade has been patiently waiting for the Containment Specialist to show up, but after almost half an hour, no one has yet to show up.

Kade almost ran out of patience and did the test himself, but as he was about to make a move he saw a few people wearing suits and sunglasses walking towards the portal.

They were led by a handsome young man with slick orange hair with one strand poking out carrying what seem to be a large suitcase.

As they were walking towards the gate, they saw Kade standing near the portal and immediately moved in front of him in a quick motion, almost like teleporting in front of him.

"Sir, please evacuate the area as we have yet to determine the rank of the gate, we do not want any accidents happening while we are conducting the test"

Hearing this Kade was confused, not only did they not look like the organization, but he also could not understand a single thing that the young man said

"My apologies young man, but could you please repeat that in English please"

Hearing this the young man wasn't surprised as tourists do like to visit Korea

"Sorry sir, please evacuate the area while we perform our own test to determine the rank of the gate"

Hearing them refer to the portal as a gate and sounding as if they were very familiar with the anomaly, Kade was a bit confused and perplex

'From the sound of their first language, it does appear that I'm in Korea, but why does it seem like they're very familiar with the anomaly, do they have their own organization?'

Thought Kade as he observed them, it was not his fault for being confused because as far as he knew, the organization has a branch in each country for EVERY country, and he was sure this was not the organization because he's been to Korea before and they do not look like they're part of it.

"Sorry fellas, please do forgive me for asking, but who are you?"

Hearing the question the young man leading the group was puzzled as he thought tourists would at least know about the country's hunter association

"My name is Woo Jinchul, I'm the Surveillance Chief of Korea's Hunter Association, please do move away from the gate and leave the area now!"

This time Woo Jinchul didn't waste any more time and sternly said to Kade, but Kade wasn't one to be intimidated as he glared back at the group of people

'This is not normal, this person, no this group does not seem like a normal people, they also do not seem to be an anomaly, I should gather more information before I do anything'

"Alright then, I should get going and let you do your job," Kade said as he started to walk away with a smile on his face appearing to be polite, but the smile was anything but polite

Jinchul did not miss that glare the man gave them and for a split second he almost burst into action out of instinct due to what he felt from the man, it almost felt like they were about to be eaten by a monster

South Korea, Seoul, 08:00

Kade had been walking around the place for hours and after much looking around and reading a few newspapers, he came to two conclusions, either the organization's doing some kind of experiment or he was in a completely different universe/dimension and he was more inline to believe the latter

Kade was shocked and he's not one to be shocked this easily, he's dealt with a lot of strange things including a deranged old man who can travel to his own dimension so being in a different dimension he wasn't much surprised, but being in a completely different universe is a completely separate matter.

As much as he was surprised, he did not want to dwindle too much about it and get a move on, from what he gathered about this place or this world, it has what they called a hunter who enters the gate and hunts monsters to collect resources, they also have guilds which is just a bunch of people teaming up together and an Association managing each country including the guilds.

'There's also that ranking for how strong these so-called hunters are, I wonder how strong I've become after being fused with anomaly #08, from what I gathered I should at least be a B rank right now, then What would happen if I devoured the monster from inside the gate and…the hunter themselves'

With this thought inside his head, he started to walk again not feeling any fatigue even after walking and being awake for a long period of time, he wanted to go inside a gate and test his abilities if there were any limits to how far he could go absorbing every living thing inside a gate.

After a couple of hours of walking, he arrived at what seemed to be an abandoned factory with a few people from the association standing around the gate preventing unauthorised people from entering it and a dozen or so hunters getting ready to enter the gate.

Seeing this he approached the people from the association

"Excuse me good sir, I'm from America and do forgive me for my ignorance, but I was just wondering how Korea raid their own gates, what are the requirements?"

The people from the association didn't mind the question and sternly said

"This gate is a C rank, you have to have at least 6 people with you on the same rank as the gate"

'No can do, I don't have any identification with me nor any records at all as this is a completely different universe, I need to find a way in without anyone knowing'

"Alright, thank you for letting me know" Kade said with a smile as he walked away from them

'I need to find someone isolated from the rest of these people, I need their memories'

With that last thought in his head and a smile that would give you the creeps, he walks with a goal in mind
